இதே போல வஸ்த்ர, வேஷ்ட என்பது துணி என்பதைக் குறிக்கும். ஆனால் அது தமிழில் வேஷ்டியாகி ஆண்கள் அணிவதை மட்டும் இன்று குறிக்கிறது.
அது வெஸ்ட் என்று ஆங்கிலத்தில் மாறி உள்ளாடைகளை மட்டும் குறிக்கிறது .2700 ஆண்டுகளில் பல மாற்றங்கள்
