கோடி விஷயங்களை விட்டு விட்டு ஹரி பஜனைக்குச் செல்!

ஹஸ்தஸ்ய பூஷணம் தானம் ஸத்யம் கண்டஸ்ய பூஷணம் |
ஸ்ரோத்ரஸ்ய பூஷணம் சாஸ்த்ரம் பூஷணௌ: கிம் பிரயோஜனம் ||
கைகளுக்கு அழகு தானம் கொடுத்தல்; தொண்டைக்கு அழகு ஸத்யத்தையே பேசுதல்; செவிக்கு அழகு சாஸ்திரங்களைக் கேட்டல்; இவை எல்லாம் இருக்கும் போது வேறு ஆபரணங்களைத் தேடி அலைவது ஏன்?
Charity is an adornment for the hand, speaking the truth is an adornment for the throat, listening of holy texts is an adornment for the ear, (when that exists) why search other ornaments?

ஆலஸ்யம் ஹி மனுஷ்யானாம் சரீரஸ்தோ மஹா ரிபு: |
நாஸ்த்யுத்யமஸமோ பந்து: க்ருத்வா யம் நாவஸீததி ||
மனிதர்களுக்கு உடலில் குடி கொண்டிருக்கும் சோம்பேறித்தனம் என்பது பெரிய எதிரி. திறனுள்ள வேலையைப் போல ஒரு நண்பனும் இல்லை, ஏனெனில் திறமையுடன் வேலை செய்யும் எவரும் மனச்சோர்வுக்கு உள்ளாவதில்லை.
Laziness indeed is the great enemy of men stationed in the body. There is no friend like diligent work, for who ever works diligently never sinks into depression.

சதம் விஹாய போக்தவ்யம் சஹஸ்ரம் ஸ்நானமாசரேத் |
லக்ஷம் விஹாய தாதவ்யம் கோடி த்யக்த்வா ஹரி பஜேத் ||
நூறு விஷயங்களை விட்டு விட்டு ஒருவன் தன் உணவை எடுத்துக் கொள்ள வேண்டும். ஆயிரம் விஷயங்களை விட்டு விட்டு ஒருவன் குளிக்க வேண்டும். லக்ஷம் விஷயங்களை விட்டு விட்டு தானம் கொடுக்கச் செல்ல வேண்டும். ஒரு கோடி விஷயங்களை விட்டு விட்டு ஹரி பஜனைக்குச் செல்ல வேண்டும்.
Leaving aside a hundred things one should take his meals, leaving aside a thousand things one must have his bath, letting to a hundred thousand things one must do charity and foregoing a crore things one must worship God.

சேவநீயம் ஸதா ஸத்யம் மனோவசனகர்மபி: |
ஸத்யே சம்சேவிதே ஸ்வர்கா: ப்ராதுர்பவந்தி பூதலே ||
எண்ணம், சொல், செயல் ஆகியவற்றில் எப்போதும் ஸத்தியத்தையே கடைப்பிடி. ஸத்தியம் முற்றிலுமாகக் கடைப்பிடிக்கப்படும் போது பூமியிலேயே சொர்க்கம் உண்டாகும்.
Follow truth at all times in thought speech and deed. When truth is followed in its totality, the heavens manifest upon earth.

ஸத்யானுசாரிணீ லக்ஷ்மி: கீர்திஸ்த்யாகானுசாரிணீ |
கர்மானுசாரிணீ புத்திர் வித்யாப்யானுசாரிணீ ||
ஸத்யத்தை அனுசரித்து லக்ஷ்மி வருவாள். தியாகம் செய்யும் போது கீர்த்தி வரும்; கர்மத்தை அனுசரித்து புத்தி செல்லும். படிப்பைத் தொடர்ந்து வித்யை வரும்.
The Goddess of Fortune comes in the wake of Truth, glory comes in the wake of renunciation, the turn of mind follows the working of Fate and learning is the consequence of studies.
