Sangam Tamil poets give us a full picture of Lord Siva and his abode Kailash. They show him and his consort Uma residing in Kailash. When Ravana tried to lift Kailash and got crushed Siva was with his wife Uma (Kalittokai 38- 1/5)
The implied meaning in this anecdote is Lord Siva is so compassionate, that he even spared Ravana though he tried to shake Kailash. This is the interpretation that Sekkizar gave us in his Periyapuranam.
He is blessing his devotes , sitting with Uma, according to Murugu.153 and Kali.38).
Siva is portrayed as a God sitting under the banyan tree in another poem- ஆல் அமர் செல்வன் Kali.81-9; 83-14, Murugu.256.
Malaipadukadaam called him காரி உண்டிக் கடவுள் Kaari Undik Kadavul (eater of Black Poison).
Siva as Trayambaka (Three Eyed) was sung by many poets முக்கண்ணன், முக்கணான் Murugu. Line 153, Kali.2-4, Akam 181-16.
His weapon was Kanichi கணிச்சி (axe) and his Flag/ Vahana Bull

Siva’s burning down of Three Forts of Asura is sung by many poets:
Pari.5-22/27. It is a detailed description. The imagery is as follows
Earth – Siva’s Chariot
Horses – Vedas
Bow- Himalayas
Bow String- The big Snake ‘Aadi Seshan
Driver of the Chariot- Brahma
Weapon – Fire Arrow (may be Laser Gun)
When he fired his arrow, the Three Forts ( Tri Puras) became ash.

Final destruction
Among the trinity Siva is attributed with the task of Final Destruction. Yama kills all the people. Even that Yama is destroyed by Siva during the Final destruction – says
