1.Potential
To form Potential add ‘laam’ லாம் to the infinitive
This is similar to May in English.
லாம் = laam added to Infinitive Vara/ to come, Saappita/ to eat, Padikka/ to read
நீங்கள்/ அவர்கள், அவள் ——- உள்ளே வர+லாம்.
You/ they/ she may come in VARA+LAAM

To form Prohibitive you add Kkoodaathu க்கூடாது
to the Infinitive
வர +க்கூடாது = VARAKKOODAATHU= MUST NOT COME
போக+க்கூடாது= POGAK KOODAATHU = MUST NOT GO/ SHOULD NOT GO

3.PERMISSIVE
ADD ‘TTUM’ –ட்டும் to the infinitive
ஆடு – ஆட = AADA=TO DANCE
Aadattum = let (him, her, it, them) dance ஆட+ ட்டும்,
தூங்கு – தூங்க= THOONGA= TO SLEEP
Thoongattum = let (him, her, them, us) sleep தூங்க+ ட்டும்
