Vishnuh Word No.2 in the VS

He pervades everything.

Vishnu Puraana says,

Yasmaad vistam idam sarvam tasya saktyaa mahaatmanah

Tasmaad evo’cyate Visnur viser daatoh pravesanaat

Meaning

The power of that Supreme Being has entered within the universe. The root Vis means ‘enter into’.

The following Rig Vedic mantra  also advocates the adoration of Vishnu for the attainment of spiritual enlightenment,

Tamu stotaarah puurvyam yathaavida

Rtasya garbham janusaa pipartana

Aasya jaananto naama cidvikaktana

Mahas te Visno sumatim bhajaamahe

It means : O hymnists ! Put an end to your recurring births by attaining the real knowledge of that Ancient Being who is eternal and true. Understanding these names of Vishnu , repeat them always. Let other people repeat or not repeat Thy Holy names: we, O Vishnu, shall adore Thy changing effulgence.

Vaikuntah – Word No.405 in the VS Vishnuh Word No.2 in the VS

The bringing together of the diversified categories is Vikuntha.  He who is the agent of it is Vaikunthah.

There is the following verse,

Mayaa samslesitaa bhuumir adhbir vyoma ca vaayunaa

Vaayus ca tejasa saardham vaikunthatvam tato mama

I united earth with water, the sky with air and the air with fire. So I have got the status of Vaikuntha.

The word can also mean one who is without any limitation or opposing factor.

ijyah – 446th word

one who is fit to be worshipped in sacrifices. Harivamsa 3-40-27 says,

ye yajanti makhair punyair devat’aadin pitrnapi

aatmaanam aatmanaa nityam vishnum eva yajanti te

those who adore divinities and Pitrs with holy sacrifices are verily adoring Vishnu who is the self of all.

Suvratah – 455th word

One who has taken the magnanimous vow to save all refuge seekers.

Vaalmiiki Raamaayanaa 6-18-33 says,

Sacrd eva prapannaaya tavaa’smiti ca yaacate

Abhayan sarva-bhuutebhyo dadaamy etat vratam mama

सकृद् एव प्रपन्नाय तव अस्मि इति च याचते ||६-१८-३३
अभयम् सर्व भूतेभ्यो ददामि एतद् व्रतम् मम |

33. yaachate = he who seeks; prapannaaya = refuge; sakR^ideva = just once; iti = saying that; asmi = I am; tava = yours; dadaami = I shall give; abhayam = assurance of safety; sarva bhuutebhyaH = against all types of beings; etat = this; mama = is my; vratam = pledge.

“He who seeks refuge in me just once, telling me that I am yours’, I shall give him assurance of safety against all types of beings. This is my solemn pledge

Trivikramah -530th word

One whose three strides covered the whole world. Sruti says,

Trini paadaa vicakrame- by His feet, He covered three measures.

Harivamsa says,

Trir ity’eva trayo lokaah kirtitaa munisattamaih

Kramate taams tridhaa sarvaams trivikrama iti srutah

Meaning

By the sound tri the sages mean the three worlds. The Lord crossed them three times. So He is famous as Trivikrama.

cakra-gadaa- dharah – 546th word

one who has discus and Gadaa in His hand. it is said

manas tttv’aatmakam cakram

buddhi tattv’aatmikaam gadaam

dhaarayan loka -raksaartham

uktas cakra-gadaa-dharah

meaning

the Lord is called cakra-gadaa- dharah because for the protection of the world He hold in His hand the discus representing the category of mind and Gadhaa (mace) representing Buddhi.

Nakshatra-nemih- 440th word (Star)

There is the following verse

Nakshatra – taakaih saardham Sandra suuryaadhayo grahaah

Vaayupaasa- mayair bandhair nibaddhaa  Dhruva-samjnite.

Heavenly bodies like moon and sun along with all Nakshatras and Taarakas (STARS) are tied to Dhruva with bonds constituted by of air.

According to this statement all these heavenly bodies are included in the tail of Dhruva or  Sisumaara Cakra. In the heart of the Sisumaara Cakra, the lord dwells as its operator. The Veda says describing Sisumaara , Vishnur hrdayam – Vishnu is its heart.
