Tamil and Vedas blog is written by Santanam Swaminathan. Born in Kilvalur near Nagappattinam in Tamil Nadu,India, educated at Madurai University, he was a journalist for sixteen years on Dinamani, a popular Tamil daily. He was a BBC Tamil broadcaster at the BBC World Service between 1987 and 1992. He was teaching Tamil at the SOAS, University of London as a part time tutor till recently. Now he gives lectures on Hinduism, Hindu culture and Tamil literature at Educational Institutions and cultural organisations.He runs another blog swamiindology.blogspot.com. He may be contacted on swami_48@yahoo.com or swaminathan.santanam@gmail.com.

His other pen names are londonswaminthan and S Swaminathan.

Educational Qualifications: M.A. (Literature), M.A. (History), Higher Diploma in French, Diploma in Sanskrit and Passed all the five Bhagawad Gita examinations conducted by the Bharatiya Vidhya Bhavan, Bombay.

He was a Part time Lecturer in Jounalism in Madurai University. He has published three books in Tamil. His 1000 plus articles in English and Tamil are available in both his blogs. He writes to other Newspapers and blogs as well.He lives in London with his family.

    Is there a difference between the Swasthika drawn by the nazis and that by hindus?

  9. It is said that they used anti clockwise swastika and Hindus used clockwise Swastika. But I dont see such difference in Hitler’s stamps and Flags. May be they drew it going left instead of right.

One of my friend IAS officer who went to cambridge for his M.Phil told me that lot of indian manuscripts are kept in scientific ways and publications are made out on subjects of vedas, tantrics, ayurvedam, rasayanam,astronomy,mathematics, astrology etc., I am interested in publication on ashtavargam in astrological interpretations and also in tantric. do you have any list ofpublications. best regards, respectfully yours, shreeramachandran,

  13. I have not found any book on Ashtavarga in CUP list. They give the full list of books subject wise,published by them. If I get more information I will let you know. You may also google CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY PRESS PUBLICATIONS and find the full book list.
