All enemies and foes of him who knows this ceremony die round about him. Round him five deities are dying, viz. lightning, rain, moon, sun, fire. The rain when fallen is absorbed by the moon which disappears; the moon at the time of the new is absorbed by the sun which disappears; and out of fire the sun is born and out of sun the moon is born. From the moon the rain is born. In this way he puts his enemy down even should he wear a stone helmet (AB ends with this spell)

The celebrated Prof. Maclaurin , the famous mathematician of Edinburgh college and the able expounder of Newtons Principia , always dislocated his jaw and was unable to shut his mouth whenever he yawned. His pupils took advantage of this physical affliction. When tired of his lecture, they either began to yawn or open their mouths in imitation of that act, and the professor began to yawn too, by unconscious imitation. He stood before them with his mouth open and could not proceed till he rang for his servant to come and shut it. In the meantime, the mischievous enemies of Euclid effected their escape.

தர்ம உறவு
தந்தையே மகனின் வாழ்வுக்கும் தாழ்வுக்கும் காரணம்!
ச.நாகராஜன்
ஒரு மகன் பெரும் புகழ் பெற்று ஒழுக்க சீல்னாக வாழ்கிறான் என்றால் அதற்கான முழுப் பெருமையும் தந்தையையே சாரும்.
அதே போல ஒரு மகன் இழிவு தரும் காரியங்களில் இறங்கி மிகவும் குணக்கேடனாக இருந்தால் அதற்கான முழுப் பொறுப்பும் தந்தையையே தான் சாரும்.
ஈன்றெடுத்த தாய் எப்போது உவப்பாள்? தன் மகனைச் சான்றோன் எனக் கேட்டவுடன்!! அப்போது மிகவும் கஷ்டப்பட்டு கருவில் சுமந்து தாங்க முடியாத வலியையும் தாங்கி மகனைப் பிரவிசத்தற்கு மேலாக – சான்றோன் என்று சபையினர் கூறும் போது – அவள் மிக அதிக மகிழ்ச்சி அடைவாள்.
மகன் அவையிலே முந்தி இருந்து போற்ற்ப்பட்டு சாதனை செய்தான் என்றால்.”இவன் தந்தை என் நோற்றான் கொல்?”
இவனது தந்தை என்ன தவம் செய்தானோ – என்று அனைவரும் கேட்டு வியப்பர்.
இது வள்ளுவன் வாக்கு.
ஸ்வாமி விவேகானந்தர் (நரேந்திரனாக இருந்த இளம் வயதில்) ஒரு நாள் தன் தந்தை விஸ்வநாத் தத்தரிடம், “அப்பா!எனக்கு என்ன தான் நீ தந்திருக்கிறாய்?” என்று கேட்டார்.
உடனே அவர் தந்தை அவரை அழைத்துச் சென்று ஒரு கண்ணாடியின் முன் நிறுத்தினார்: “இதோ இங்கே பார்! பார்த்து நீயே தெரிந்து கொள்! நான் உனக்கு என்ன ஒரு விலைமதிப்பற்ற பரிசை உனக்குக் கொடுத்திருக்கிறேன் என்று” என்று பதில் கூறினார்.
ஆம், ஒரு தந்தை மகனை முழுதுமாக உருவாக்குகிறார். தேகம், மனம், ஆன்மா அனைத்திற்குமான வளர்ச்சியை ஒரு தந்தையே தருகிறார்.
நமது அறநூல்கள் மிகத் தெளிவாக கூறுகின்றன இப்படி:
பிதா ஸ்வர்க: பிதா தர்ம: பிதா ஹி பரமம் தப: I
பிதரி பிரதிமாபன்னே ப்ரீயந்தே சர்வ தேவதா: II
தந்தையே ஸ்வர்க்கம்.
தந்தையே தர்மம்
தந்தையே பரம தவம்
தந்தையை மதி; சகல தேவர்களும் ப்ரீதி அடைவர்.
தந்தை சொல் மிக்க மந்திரம் இல்லை என்பது நமக்குத் தரப்பட்ட அறவுரை.
ரோல் மாடலாக தந்தையையே ஒரு நல்ல மகன் சுட்டிக் காட்டுவான்.
அமெரிக்க ஜனாதிபதியாக இருந்த ஜார்ஜ் டபிள்யூ புஷ் தந்தையர் தினத்தன்று தனக்குத் தெரிந்த வரையில் தன் தந்தையே உலகில் ஒரு அருமையான மனிதர் என்று கூறினார். தனக்கு எல்லையற்ற அன்பை வாரி வழங்கியவர் தன் தந்தையே என்று அவர் கூறி மகிழ்ந்தார்.
மேலை நாடுகளில் தந்தையர் தினம் அன்னையர் தினம் காதலர் தினம் என்று வகை வகையாக தினங்கள் உண்டு.
அந்த ஒரு நாளில் மட்டும் தந்தையருக்கு மரியாதை; அன்னையருக்கு மரியாதை! காதலுக்கு மரியாதை!
ஆனால் ஹிந்து தர்மத்திலோ ஒவ்வொரு கணமும் மரியாதை!
சங்க இலக்கியத்தில் வரும் ஒரு பாடல் மிகச் சரியாக தந்தை தாய் உறவைச் சித்தரிக்கிறது.
ஈன்று புறந்தருதல் என் தலைக் கடனே!
சான்றோன் ஆக்குதல் தந்தைக்குக் கடனே!
வேல் வடித்துக் கொடுத்தல் கொல்லற்குக் கடனே!
நன்னடை நல்கல் வேந்தற்குக் கடனே!
ஒளிறு வாள் அருஞ்சமம் முருக்கிக்
களிறு எறிந்து பெயர்தல் காளைக்குக் கடனே!
புறநானூறு 312ஆம் பாடல்
பொன் முடியார் என்ற பெண் புலவர் பாடிய பாடல் இது.
வள்ளுவரைப் போலவே இவரும் ஈன்று பெறுதலைத் தாயின் கடனாகவும் சான்றோன் ஆக்குதலைத் தந்தையின் கடனாகவும் குறிப்பிடுவது பொருள் பொதிந்த ஒன்றாகும்.
பௌதிக ரீதியிலான தாம்பத்ய உறவைத் தாண்டி அமானுஷ்யமான கர்ம பலன் (புண்ய பாவப் பரிசு) தத்துவத்தை வள்ளுவரும் பொன்முடியாரும் சித்தரிக்கின்றனரோ?!
ஹிந்து மத அறநூல்கள் விவரிக்கும் ரகசியம் இதில் அடங்கி இருக்கிறதல்லவா?
எல்லா மதங்களும் தந்தை – தாய் – மகன் உறவைப் புனித உறவாகச் சித்தரிக்கின்றன என்பதில் ஒரு சிறிதும் ஐயமில்லை.
ஆனால் அதையும் தாண்டி – அதாவது பௌதிகரீதியிலான உறவையும் தாண்டி தந்தை – மகன், தாய் – மகன் உறவை ஹிந்து மதம் தர்ம உறவாகச் சித்த்ரிக்கிறது.
ஜென்ம பந்தம் என்று இதைத் தான் நாம் சொல்கிறோம்.
இந்த தர்ம உறவைப் போற்றுவது ஹிந்து மதத்தில் தோன்றிய ஒவ்வொருவரின் கடமையாக ஆகிறது.
பிறந்ததிலிருந்து கொள்ளி போடுவது வ்ரை ஒரு தொடர் தர்ம உறவு தந்தை – மகன் உறவாக ஆகிறது.
என்ன வியக்கத்தக்க – ரகசியம் அடங்கிய – ஒரு கொள்கை இது!

Strategy Anecdotes and Panchatantra Story! (Post No.4036)

All of us know the Panchatantra story written in Sanskrit 2000 years ago where the crows took revenge upon the owls by setting fire to their nests in the night. Tiruvalluvar, in his Tamil Veda Tirukkural (Kural couplet 481) also referred to that story.
We also know that Asvattama watched this and adopted the same technique to kill the Pandava family members (see Mahabharata)
We also know that the greatest Brahmin poet Kabilar, who is the biggest contributor to Sangam Tamil corpus, trained the birds to fetch grains to the Parambu Hills when the three mighty Tamil kings laid a siege to the Parambu Nadu of the philanthropist chieftain Pari (Ref.Akam 78 and Akam 303 sung by Nakkiran and Avvai)
Last but not the least, it reminds us of Hanuman burning the city of Lanka with his tail, which was set on fire by Ravana’s men.
Since I have written about all these episodes I am not going to repeat it. But something similar happened just 1000 years ago in England. Read the anecdote given below:
The Norwegian king, Harold Hardrada, who lost his life in the battle of Stamford Bridge in 1066, fought for some time under the banner of the Byzantine emperors. On one of his expeditions to Sicily, he came with his army to a populous town, to which he laid siege. The walls, however, were so strong that he began to doubt whether it would be possible to make a breach in them; and the burghers had plenty of provisions, and everything which they needed for their defence.
Harold, therefore ordered his fowlers to catch the small birds that nested in the town, and flew to the forest during the day in quest of food. He then caused splinters of inflammable wood, smeared with wax and sulphur , to be fastened on their backs and enkindled. The birds, when set at liberty, flew immediately to the town to revisit their young and their nests on the rooftops of the houses, which were thatched with straw and reeds. The fire fell from, the birds on the thatch, and although each bore but a small quantity, their number was so great that one house after another began to burn, until the whole town was in flames. The inhabitants then came out and implored mercy, and Harold thus got possession of the town.

பெரியவாளின் நகைச்சுவை!

காஞ்சி மஹா பெரியவா அத்வைத ஞானி. என்றாலும் கூட லௌகிக உலகத்திற்கு அவர் நாசுக்காக சொல்ல வேண்டியதைச் சொல்லுவார்.
பி.நாராயண மாமா பகிர்ந்து கொண்ட சம்பவம் இது:
ஒரு முறை உடல் பருமனான ஒரு குண்டு மாமி பெரியவாளை தரிசிக்க வந்தார்.
அவரால் நமஸ்காரம் பண்ணக் கூட முடியவில்லை. அவ்வளவு குண்டான மாமி.
பக்தி இருந்தாலும் நமஸ்காரம் பண்ண உடல் வாகு இடம் தராததால் ஒரு வித சங்கடம் கலந்த குழப்பத்தில் அவர் ஒரு ஓரமாக கூப்பிய கரங்களுடன் நின்று கொண்டிருந்தார்.
பின்னர் பெரியவாளை அணுகினார்.
“எனக்கு டயபடீஸ் (Diabetes) இருக்கிறது.டாக்டர் எடையைக் குறைக்க வேண்டும் என்று சொல்லி விட்டார். அதற்காக தினமும் ஒரு மணி நேரம் நான் நடக்க வேண்டும் என்று அவர் சொல்கிறார். ஆனால் என்னாலோ ஒரு பத்து நிமிடம் கூட நடக்க முடியவில்லை.” என்று கூறிய அவர், “பெரியவாள் தான் எனக்கு ஒரு சுலபமான வழியைக் காண்பிக்க வேண்டும்” என்று விண்ணப்பித்தார்.
“இந்த டாக்டர்கள் எல்லாம் ஒரே மாதிரி தான். மெடிகல் புஸ்தகங்களில் இருப்பதை அப்படியே திருப்பித் திருப்பிச் சொலவதே அவர்களின் வழக்கமாக ஆகி விட்டது. பிராக்டிகலாக அவர்கள் ஒரு விஷயத்தை அணுக மாட்டேன் என்கிறார்கள்” என்று ஆரம்பித்தார் பெரியவாள்.
குண்டு மாமியின் முகம் விகசித்தது.பெரியவாள் ஏதோ ஒரு சுலபமான வழியைச் சொல்லப் போகிறார் என்று அவர் எதிர்பார்த்தார்.
“ஒருவருக்கு வியாதி இல்லாத ஆரோக்கியமான வாழ்வு வேண்டுமென்றால் பகவானின் அனுக்ரஹம் வேண்டும்.”
பெரியவாளின் பேச்சை உன்னிப்பாகக் கவனிக்கலானார் அந்த மாமி.
“ உன் ஆத்துக்குப் பக்கத்தில் ஏதேனும் கோவில் இருக்கா?” – பெரியவாள் கேட்டார்.
“இருக்கிறது. பெரிய சிவன் கோவில் இருக்கிறது.” – மாமி பதில் சொன்னார்.
“நல்லதாப் போச்சு. அங்கு தினமும் காலையும் மாலையும் ஆறு ஆறு பிரத்க்ஷிணம் பண்ணு. துடைப்பக்கட்டையால் ஒரு நூறு அடி மட்டும் கோவிலை சுத்தம் செய்.”
பெண்மணிக்குச் சந்தோஷம் தாங்கவில்லை. பெரியவாளின் பிரசாதத்துடன் வீட்டிற்குக் கிளம்பினார்.
பெரியவாளின் பக்கத்தில் நின்று கொண்டிருந்த பக்தர் ஒருவருக்கு அடக்க முடியாத சிரிப்பு.
அவரைப் பார்த்த் பெரியவாள்,”என்ன, நான் ஏதேனும் தப்பா சொல்லிட்டேனா?” என்று கேட்டார்.
“இல்லை பெரிய்வா! டாக்டர் நடைப் பயிற்சி – வாக்கிங் போ என்று சொன்னார். ஆனால் பெரிய்வா பிரதக்ஷிணம்னு பிரஸ்கிரைப் (prescribe) பண்ணேள்.” என்றார் அவர்.
“ஓ! மருந்தாக இரண்டு பேரும் பிரஸ்கிரைப் (Prescribe) பண்ணது அத்வைதம் தான். ஆனால் பேர் தான் த்வைதம் என்கிறாயா?”
என்றார் பெரியவாள்.
அவரது நுட்பமான நகைச்சுவையை அனைவரும் ரசித்தனர்.

Problems facing the Hindu society were discussed by the members of the Hindu Forum of Europe in its Annual General bod y meeting held in Lisbon (Portugal) on 23rd of June 2017. Sri Mahaprabhudasa, General Secretary, listed the burning issues facing the community:
1.Text Books on Hinduism in different countries give wrong information
2.Sufferings of Hindus in countries such as Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan etc
3.Hindu Forum Branches where it is not yet organised
4.Hinduism presented by different Hindu groups in public forums confuse everyone.
5.Earlier the Yoga presented by different groups was discussed ( I have already given it under “Yoga without Religion is dangerous”).
Sri Mahaprabhudasa pointed out that in any multi faith meeting, other religious speakers first tell their denomination he or she represents and then present their point of view from that angle. A catholic or a protestant clearly says : according to my faith…………… But Hindus from different groups or sects speak as if they represent the religion. It confuses our children and people belonging to other faiths.”
When I spoke on these points I dealt with only one issue in the above list, i.e. Hinduism presented by different groups:-
“The biggest strength of Hindusim is Diversity; the biggest weakness is also Diversity. We give complete freedom to follow our religion in different ways. But it is better to tell the people from which group they have come and then explain their point of view. Even in the earlier discussion we could not agree on a single method of Yogasana practice and each one supported a different method of Yoga and Asana. We need to tell the Hindu leaders to speak clearly in public forums.
Some of the members in private discussions told me the following points:
Texts books on Hinduisn gave lot of wrong information about Hinduism. Shiva Linga worship is misrepresented ( I pointed out that Kanchi Shankaracharya has spoken about it and explained that it represents God is formless. I have also written about it in my blog)
When the British Census was taken lot of people tod that they belong to this sect and that sect without saying that they are Hindus. Because of their ignorance and the ignorance of the census officers, they were not listed as Hindus. Since all those sects were not in the British census form they marked such Hindus as “other faiths”. As a result of which Hindu population was less than the actual figure. Now Hindu Forum of Britain is searching for a solution and one of them is to write Hindu -Swaminarayan, Hindu- hare Krishna sect etc. But it should be approved by both the government and the respective group. It is very important that Hindus unite on this issue and project them as one group.
My new comments on this:
Hinduism is presented in different colour capsules though the contents are the same. We all believe in rebirth, Karma theory, Symbol Aum and One god who can be worshipped in different ways and forms. But one cult or sect is criticising the other sect. This wont help any Hindu group in public forums.
Several years ago I met a young boy in a London hospital with worried face. I approached him and started the conversation deliberately so that I could help him. When I asked him for what health problem he had come to the hospital, he told me that he was hale and healthy and the reason he came to the hospital was for a job interview. I wished him all the best and continued the conversation. When I asked his name, the country of his origin, it was a Hindu name! Oh you are a Hindu like me, I said. He refuted me at once saying that he worships Lord Murugan (Hindu God Skanda). Smilingly I explained to him that my name also Murugan’s name and he is one of the main Hindu gods. But that young boy couldn’t digest it and he repeatedly told me that he was a Muruga worshipper and in Mauritius, where from he comes, only Muruga is worshipped as main god. I told him to go back to his parents for clarification on the matter I told him.
I knew the problem with youngsters like him. Hindus living in remote areas such as Fiji, Mauritius, Guyana, South Africa are generations away from the Hindu mainland. Their names are “Non hinduized” or “dehinduized”. Many of them were taken by the British and French from the lower strata of the society and treated them as slaves. They lost or forgot their culture completely. When they were struggling for their survival as human beings, religion is relegated to the back. They don’t have good religious teachers or preachers who can attract youths. Whatever they have now as religion is the major festivals with bizarre local stories. Books on Hinduism written by the French and the English give distorted pictures. Hindus have an enormous task of supporting, educating and elevating those people. This is an internal problem, internal threat. Someone has to write proper, uniform text books with reasonable, simple explanation for the festivals, Siva Linga worship and umpteen other issues. Though thousands of Hindu cults, groups, sects, sub sects, Sath Sang groups, Ashrams, Yoga centres, Babas, Swamijis and Mutts exist, not many are bothered about uniting them under one banner. Each one is promoting his or her own organisation.
Even in Face book I see several people put several quotations in the name of Bhagavad Gita. Like Einstein is quoted in several hundred quotes which he never said, Lord Krishna’s name is dragged into several statements. I react to such posts immediately saying that ‘could you please give me the chapter and sloka number.?’ Then they keep quiet. So, we must first create awareness amongst our own people.

Highlights of London Ratha Yatra 2017 (Post No.4033)

London Ratha Yatra, chariot procession organised by ISKCON, was held in London on 18th June 2017. It started at Hyde Park corner and finished at Trafalgar Square. Since it went through the heart of London thousands of tourists watched from their buses or from the hotels. As usual thousands of devotees took part in it. Several hundred-people travelled from far off places.
Every year at least one or two people dress them selves as Radha and Krishna. This year also two youngsters came in that disguise. Normally they attract more attention than anyone else. All the devotees and tourists pose with them and take photographs.
Dancing and singing by the devotees evoked good response from the general public. I saw severa hotel staff who watched it along with the tourists from the gates of their hotels also sang Hare Krishna,
There was a good rush to sweep the floor with the holy broom. The idea is to clean the street of dust where the Lord’s Rathas come. Three chariots were pulled by hundreds f volunteers with great enthusiasm.
Krishna Devotees fell (prostrated) on the roads to do the traditional namaskaram. Lot of youngsters in colourful dress added colour to the show. At the end of the procession free food was distributed. The crowd is increasing steadily every year.
Krishna devotees were distributing leaflets, books and Prasad (nuts and fruits) all along the route. If it is a political or other religious procession there will be high security and visible police presence. With Hare Krishna Ratha Yatra I have never seen police or security. Everything was maintained by the dedicated volunteers.
When the chariots (Rathas) were going through roads with heavy traffic, volunteers stood at the edge of the procession and see that the crowd not spilling over. It was an orderly crowd.
I have seen at least 15 mothers wheeling their prams with babies. Though it was a hot sunny day they were following it for over three hours!
Spectators, particularly tourists, joined the dancing and singing Some black couple joined the devotees and danced for some time. Though all the 25+ Tamil temples do the traditional chariot processions in their respective areas, this is the only procession allowed through Central London. When I came to London in 1987, I just watched it from the point it started. Nowadays I walk with the rathas and take photographs. Please see the photos taken by me posted with this write up.

போர்ச்சுகல்லின் தலைநகரான லிஸ்பன் மாநகரில் ஐரோப்பிய ஹிந்து போரம் அமைப்பின் பொதுக்குழு கூட்டம் 23-06-2017ல் நடந்தேறியது. அதில் லண்டனிலிருந்து சென்ற அறுவர் குழுவில் நானும் இடம் பெற்றேன்.
(சாப்பாடு மட்டும் இலவசம்; மற்ற எல்லா செலவுகளும் எங்களுடையது. ஹரே க்ருஷ்ணா இயக்கத்தினர் அவர்களுடைய உணவு விடுதியில் எங்களுக்கு நல்ல சாத்வீக உணவு கொடுத்தனர். போர்ச்சுகல்லில் தங்கிய 4 நாட்களில் மசாலா, வெங்காயம், பூண்டு வாசனையே கிடையாது; வாழ்க ஹரே கிருஷ்ணா இயக்கம்))
பெல்ஜியம் நாட்டிலிருந்து வந்த பிரதிநிதி மஹாப்ரபுதாச, பொதுச்செயலர் என்ற முறையில் நல்ல செயல் திட்டங்களை முன் மொழிந்தார். வழக்கம் போல இந்த ஆண்டும் ஐரோப்பிய பார்லிமெண்டில் தீபாவளி விருந்து உண்டு என்று சொல்லி, அதற்காக தேதியைக் கொடுத்தார். கூட்டத்தின் இறுதியில் அடுத்த ஆண்டு இதாலியில் உள்ள ப்ளாரன்ஸ் நகரில் கூட்டம் நடத்தவும் இசைவு தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டது.
கூட்டத்தில் எழுப்பப்பட்ட முக்கிய விஷயங்கள்:
இந்துமதம் பற்றிப் பல நாடுகளில் பலவகையாக எழுதப்பட்ட பாடப் புத்தகங்கள் இருக்கின்றன. இவற்றில் பெரும் பிழைகளும் உள்ளன. பிழைகளைத் திருத்தி சரியான, ஒரே மாதிரியான பாடப் புத்தகம் கொண்டுவருவது நம் கடமை.
வங்க தேசம், பாகிஸ்தான், ஆப்கனிஸ்தான் போன்ற பல நாடுகளில் இந்துக்களுக்கு எதிராக ஏராளமான கொடுமைகள் நடக்கின்றன. இவைகளை யாரும் வெளியிடுவதே இல்லை. அவர்களைக் காப்பாற்றுவது நம் கடமை.
இதைவிட முக்கியமானது– இந்துக்களே இந்து மதத்தைக் குழப்புவதாகும். மற்ற மதத்தில் உள்ள உப பிரிவுகளைவிட (sub sects, movements, cults) நம் மதத்தில் பிரிவுகள் அதிகம்; தற்காலத்தில் ஏராளமான சங்கங்கள், இயக்கங்கள், அமைப்புகள் வேறு தோன்றிவிட்டன. கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் பேசும்போது நான் கத்தோலிக்க அமைப்பைச் சேர்ந்தவன்; எங்கள் கொள்கையின்படி……….. என்று துவங்குவார். ப்ராடெஸ்டெண்ட் மதபோதகர் பேசுகையில் தன்னை சரியாக அறிமுகப் படுத்திக்கொண்டு, எங்கள் கருத்துப்படி…………….. என்று பேசுவார். ஆனால் இந்துக்கள் மட்டும் தான் சேர்ந்த அமைப்பின் கருத்து என்று சொல்லாது, தாந்தான் இந்துமதத்தின் பிரதிநிதி போலப் பேசுவதால், அதைக் கேட்கும் இந்து அல்லாத வெளிநாட்டினர் ஒன்றும் புரியாமல் திகைத்துப் போகிறார்கள். நமது , குழந்தைகளுக்கோ பெரும் குழப்பம் ஏற்படுகிறது.
அவர்களுக்கு நம் மதம் — மேலும் புரியாத புதிராக விடுகிறது! ஆகையால் யார் பேச எழுந்தாலும், எங்கு சென்று பேசினாலும், அவர்கள் எந்த இயக்கத்தைச் சார்ந்தவர்கள் என்று சொல்லிவிட்டு தங்களுடைய அணுகுமுறை இது– பார்வை இது —என்பதைச் சொல்ல வேண்டும்.
இதை மஹாப்ரபுதாச சொன்னபோது எல்லோரும் ஆதரவு தெரிவித்தனர்.
இது பற்றி நான் பேசியதாவது:
“இந்துமத்தின் மிகப்பெரிய பலம் — பலவகையான அமைப்புகள், இயக்கங்கள் இருப்பது (Biggest strength of Hinduism is Diversity).
இந்துமத்தின் மிகப்பெரிய பலவீனமும் அதே — பலவகையான அமைப்புகள், இயக்கங்கள் இருப்பது. (Biggest weakness of Hinduism is Diversity).
நமக்குள் ஒற்றுமைதான் அதிகம்; ஆனால் நாம் பின்பற்றும் மேம்போக்கான வழிமுறைகள், சடங்குகள் நம் குழந்தைகளை மிகவும் குழப்பும்; வெளிநாட்டினரை மிகவும் குழப்பும். ஆகையால் நாம் எந்த இயக்கத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவர், நாம் எந்த வழியைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்து இருக்கிறோம் என்று விளக்கிப் பேசுவது நல்லது என்றேன். சற்று முன்னர் நாம் யோகம், ஆசனம் ஆகியவற்றைப் போதிக்கும் இயக்கங்கள் பற்றி விவாதித்தோம். அதில் கூட நமக்குக் கருத்து வேறுபாடுகள் இருந்தன. நம்க்குள்ளேயே இவ்வளவு என்றால் , விஷயமே தெரியாதவர்கள் குழம்ப்பிப் போவார்களே!! என்றேன்.
கூட்டத்திற்கு வந்த மற்றவர்கள் சொன்ன கருத்துகள்:
சிவ லிங்க வழிபாடு — அருவ வழிபாட்டின் சிறப்பை விளக்க வந்த வழிபாடு— என்பதை அறியாமல் அது பற்றி வெளிநாட்டுப் புத்தகங்களில் ஆபாசமாக எழுதப்பட்டதை ஒருவர் எடுத்துக் காட்டினார் ( நான் அவரிடம் தனிப்பட்ட முறையில் பேசுகையில் இது பற்றி காஞ்சி சுவாமிகள் சொன்ன அற்புதமான விளக்கத்தை என் பிளாக் கட்டுரையில் போட்டிருப்பது பற்றிச் சொன்னேன்).
வெளிநாடுகளில் மக்கட் தொகை கணக்கெடுப்பின்போது, படிப்பறிவில்லாத பலர் தான் சேர்ந்த இயக்கத்தின் பெயரைச் சொல்லி விடுகின்றனர். அப்படிப்பட்ட ஒரு ஐட்டம் (item) அந்த லிஸ்டில்(list) இல்லாததால், அவர்களை இந்து என்று குறிக்காமல், எந்த மதமும் சாராத பட்டியலில் சேர்த்துவிட்டுப் போய்விடுகிறார்கள். இதனால் இந்துக்களின் எண்ணிக்கை குறைவாகக் காட்டப்படுகிறது!!
இது விசயமாக நாங்கள் (Hindu Forum of Britain) பிரிட்டனில் புதிய யோசனைகளை அரசுக்குத் தெரிவித்து வருகிறோம்.
ஹரே க்ருஷ்ணா இயக்கம், சுவாமிநாராயண் இயக்கம் போன்ற பெயர்களை எழுதி அடைப்புக் குறிக்குள் “இந்து” என்று எழுதுவது ஒரு யோசனை. ஆனால் முதலில் இதை அந்த இயக்கங்களும் ஏனையோரும் ஒப்புக்கொள்ளவேண்டும். ஆகையால் இந்த யோசனைகளை அனுப்பி இதைவிட வேறு என்ன முறைகள் உள்ளன என்றும் கேட்டு வருகிறோம்.
ஆக நமக்குள்ள பிரச்சனைகளை நாம் ஆக்க பூர்வமாக அணுகி நம் குழந்தைகளுக்கும், நம்மை அணுகும் வெளிநாட்டினருக்கும் தெளிவு பிறக்கச் செய்வது நம்முடைய தலையாய கடமை.
