உலகெங்கும் தொன்று தொட்டு இருந்து வரும் சிவலிங்க வழிபாடு!-2

பல்லவி தாகூர் எழுதியுள்ள  கட்டுரையின் சில பகுதிகளை முந்தைய கட்டுரையில் பார்த்தோம்.  வியக்க வைக்கும் தகவல்களை அள்ளித் தரும் இதர பகுதிகளை இப்போது பார்க்கலாம்:

சிவலிங்க வழிபாடும் சிவனை வழிபடுவதும் உலகெங்கும் பரவி இருந்த ஒன்று. இந்தியா மற்றும் லங்காவில் மட்டும் இருந்ததல்ல இது. ஐரோப்பிய நாடுகளுக்கு ரோமானியர்கள் இந்த வழிபாட்டை அறிமுகப்படுத்தினர். ‘ப்ரயாபாஸ்’ என்று அவர்கள் இதைக் குறிப்பிடுகின்றனர்.

பழைய கால மெஸபொடோமியாவில் , பாபிலோனில் நடந்த அகழ்வாராய்ச்சியில் சிவ லிங்கங்கள் கிடைத்துள்ளன.

மேலும்  ஹரப்பா- மொஹஞ்சதாரோவில் நடத்தப்பட்ட அகழ்வாராய்ச்சிகளில் ஏராளமான சிவலிங்கங்கள் கிடைத்தன. இவை ஆரியக் குடியேற்றத்திற்கு முன்னதாகவே ஒரு உயரிய பண்பாடு இருந்ததை காட்டுகிறது. மெஸோ அமெரிக்காவில் மாயன்களின் நாகரிகமான மாயா நாகரிகத்தின் சொற்களின் உருவாக்கம் மற்றவற்றோடு ஒத்திருப்பது மிக பரந்த அளவில் இருக்கிறது.

அயர்லாந்தில் புராதன சிவலிங்கம்: அயர்லாந்தில் உள்ள மீத் கவுண்டி என்னுமிடத்தில் தாரா மலையில் லிலா ஃபெய்ல் (விதியின் சிலை) என்ற ஒரு மர்மமான சிலை உள்ளது. கி.பி. 1632-1636 வாக்கில் பிரான்ஸிஸ் குருமார்களால் எழுதப்பட்டநான்கு குருமார்களின் சரித்திரச் சுவடிகளின் படி அமானுஷ்ய சக்தி கொண்ட ‘துதாதே தானான்’ என்ற மக்களால் இது அயர்லாந்திற்குக் கொண்டு வரப்பட்டது. சிலர் வெங்கலம் உருவாக்கும் சக்தியை அவர்கள் தாம் அயர்லாந்திற்குக் கொண்டு வந்தனர் என்கின்றனர். கிறிஸ்தவம் தோன்றுவதற்கு முன்னர் அவையே கார்லிக் அயர்லாந்தில் பிரதான தேவதைகளாக வழிபடப்பட்டன.

வரலாறு: தனு என்ற தேவதையின் குழந்தைகளான துதா தே தானான் அயர்லாந்தை கி.மு. 1897 முதல் 1700 வரை ஆண்டு வந்ததாகச் சொல்லப்படுகிறது.இவர்கள் கடல் வழியே கப்பலில் வந்தனர். கிறிஸ்தவ குருமார்கள் இந்த சிலையை வளத்திற்கு அடையாளமான பாகன் சிலை எனக் கருதினர்.இந்தச் சிலை எவ்வளவு முக்கியமானதாக இருந்தது எனில், கி.பி. 500 முடிய அயர்லாந்து மன்னர்கள் மகுடாபிஷேகத்தில் இது முக்கிய அங்கம் வகித்தது. ஐரோப்பிய பாரம்பரியத்தின் படி தனு தேவதையானது ஒரு நதி தேவதை. சில அயர்லாந்து நூல்களில் அந்த தேவதையின் தந்தை தக்தா ( நல்ல கடவுள்) என, ஒரு தந்தைக்குரிய உருவில் சொல்லப்படுகிறது.

வேதத் தொடர்பு : தக்ஷனின் பெண்ணான தனு என்பவள் வேத பாரம்பரியத்திலும் உண்டு. தனு காஸ்யப முனிவரின் மனைவி. நதிகளின் தேவதை. தனு என்ற சம்ஸ்கிருதச் சொல்லுக்கு ஓடும் நீர் என்று பொருள். தக்ஷனின் மகளான அவளது சகோதரி சதி தான் சிவனை மணந்தாள். வேதத்தை பின்பற்றுவோர், லியாஃபெல் என்பதை சிவலிங்கத்துடன் நெருங்கிய தொடர்புடையதாகக் கருதுகின்றனர்.

Worship of Lord Shiva and Shiva Lingam worship were prevalent all across

the globe. It was not confined to India and  Sri Lanka only. Lingam was referred to‘Prayapas’ by the Romans who introduced the

worship of Shiva Lingam to European countries.

Shiva Lingams were found in the archaeological findings in Babylon, ancient Mesopotamia. Further, the archaeological discoveries in

Harappa-Mohenjo-Daro yielded numerous Shiva Lingam statutes, which disclose the existence of a highly evolved culture long before the Aryan’s immigration. The etymological similarity of Maya with the Maayans of Meso

America are huge.

Ancient Shiva Linga in Ireland: In County Meath, Ireland, on the Hill of Tara sitsa mysterious stone known as the Lia Fáil (Stoneof Destiny). According to The Annals of theFour Masters, an ancient document written by Franciscan Monks between 1632-1636 AD,this stone was brought brought to Ireland by the TuathaDé Danann– supernaturally gifted people.

Some speculate it was they who brought the power to make bronze to Ireland. They were the main deities of pre-Christian Gaelic Ireland.

The legend: The Tuatha Dé Danann, thechildren of the goddess Danu, are said to have ruled Ireland from 1897 B.C. to 1700 B.C. having

arrived from the coast on ships. The Christian monks viewed the stone as a pagan stone idol symbolic of fertility. This stone was so important

that it was used for the coronation of all Irish Kings up until 500 AD. The goddess Danu in European tradition was a river goddess. In

some Irish texts her father is said to be Dagda (the good god), a father figure in Irish tradition.

Vedic connection:The Vedic tradition has a goddess Danu, the daughter of Daksha, wife of Kasyapa Muni, who was a goddess of the rivers. The word Danu in Sanskrit means ‘flowing water’. As the daughter of Daksha,

her sister Sati was married to Lord Shiva. To practitioners of Vedic tradition the Lia Fáil matches very closely to the Shiva Linga.
