Magician , Father of Chemistry, Mahayana Buddhism Founder, Philosopher and author of many books, Nagarjuna, in his work Yogaratnamala deals with scorpion bites and malarial fever. We were lucky to get all his books from China, because Chinese students of Nalanda University translated them into Chinese 2000 years ago. Nagarjuna was the V C of the university at that time. Muslims burnt down the Nalanda University and its huge library 1300 years ago and Hindus lost all its literary treasures. Now we are translating them back into Sanskrit and English.

To cure Malaria

As per the previous terms , collect the roots of Gojihva (Onasma bracheutum) at the time of midday on 14th day of dark fortnight (Krishnapaksha Chaturdasi) and take it with butter milk, the chaturdak fever eventhough it may be most severe soon disappears.

Scorpion bites
On application of the paste prepared out of the insects of Arka (calotropis ; Erukku in Tamil), the dung of a house iguana/lizard, Manashila (Dioxide of Arsenic), Haritaki (Terminalia chabula; Kadukkay in Tamil), with oil, the poison of a scorpion disappears.

Apply the milk of Arka (Calotropis; Erukkam in Tamil) to the seeds of Palasa (Butea Hrondosa; kalyana murungai in Tamil) 21 times and get the seeds powdered. On application of this paste with oil the poison of a scorpion disappears.

Prepare a pill out of the root of the northern part of a pomegranate tree and beef with water, on touching the affected part with this pill the poison of a scorpion disappears.
Mix together the root and oil of Ankola (Alanghium; Azinjil tree in Tamil), root and oil of Pomegranate tree, the root of Jambhu tree (Naaval in Tamil) and oil with equal quantity of honey and sugar and prepare a pill out of these. By touching this pill the poison of a scorpion disappears.

Note – one should bear in mind that the mention of Ankola (Alangium) oil, Pomegrantae oil, Jambu oil is made here, but the process of their preparation is not found in the book. Therefore one should always take care to prepare them in accordance with the general process made in Ayurveda. Take one fourth of the ingredients with sixteen times water and prepare the required oil with their paste and the decoction. And with this method, all sorts of oils are to be prepared.

Mix the ashes that are available in the forest and the powder of the seeds of the Sravanika(Mundee) with water and prepare a lepa. On application of this lepa to the body, a man can travel in rains without being affected by water. I.e. he does not become wet.

Making the effaced letters visible
if you write letters on a picture with a paint prepared out of the juice of the Asvatta or Arka (Arsa maram or Erukku in Tamil) on a picture and let them dry. The letters are not visible to others. They become visible only when you pour water over them.
