Gravity of Sun and atmosphere (part of Tamil Astronomy)

Sun and its gravity were sung by ancient Tamils. Tamils had complete knowledge of space without air. They followed their northern counterparts. They described all heavenly bodies as spherical. Solar is a Sanskrit word (Solar= Sorya;R=L) — Puram-30;
செஞ் ஞாயிற்றுச் செலவும்,
அஞ் ஞாயிற்றுப் பரிப்பும்,
பரிப்புச் சூழ்ந்த மண்டிலமும்,
வளி திரிதரு திசையும்,
வறிது நிலைஇய காயமும், என்று இவை
சென்று அளந்து அறிந்தோர் போல, என்றும்

Avvaiyaar அவ்வையார்
Avvaiyaar அவ்வையார் was the greatest of the 20++ women poets of Sangam Age. Later we had 5 more Avvaiyaars living at different times. All old Tamil books in the British library described Avvaiyar as sister of Tiru Valluvar. Like great poets she was able to challenge the kings when they went wrong. She insisted Tamil Unity. Tamils were the worst people who fought among themselves for 1500 years continuously. There is no other race who fought and killed their own people for such a long time.
She is attributed as the author of 7 verses in Naṟṟiṇai, 15 in Kuṟuntokai, 4 in Akanaṉūṟu and 33 in Puṟanāṉūṟu. a total of 59 poems.
Sangam Age Avvaiyar attended the Rajasuya Yajnam conducted by the Choza king. It was attended by Chera and Pandya king. She was extremely happy to see the rare unity and greeted them wishing the unity for ever.
Avvai means a motherly figure, not married or widowed, but working for the community. All the six Avvaiyaars were god fearing and law abiding citizens.
Sangam Age Avvaiyaar received a rare gooseberry from Athiyaman Anji, a chieftain, which will lengthen one’s life.

Aram = Dharma, Artha, Kama, Moksha

Tamils of Sangam age followed Vedic culture. They praised the Four Hindu Values in life Dharma/ Scriptural law, Artha/wealth, Kama/Sex and Family life and Veedu/Moksha/liberation from birth and death cycle.
Tiru Valluvar a Post Sangam poet of fifth century CE (linguistically dated) named his book Dharma Artha Kama (Muppaal= Three Sections). He divided his book into Aram/dharma, Porul/wealth and Kaama/sex and family life. But he was not the first one to be a Hindutva poet. Even Tolkappiar and Sangam Poets were great Hindus repeating the same theme Dharma Artha Kama.
But Tamil tradition is that they don’t talk about Veedu/Mokha/liberation separately. They included it at the end of Aram/Dharma.
strangelyDharma and Aram are cognate words.
Dharma+ Dharam in North Indian languages= (DH) Aram in Tamil.

சிறப்புடை மரபின் பொருளும் இன்பமும்
அறத்து வழிப்படூஉம் தோற்றம் போல,
இரு குடை பின்பட ஓங்கிய ஒரு குடை,
உரு கெழு மதியின், நிவந்து, சேண் விளங்க,
நல் இசை வேட்டம் வேண்டி, வெல் போர்ப் 5
பாசறை அல்லது நீ ஒல்லாயே;

English Couplet 760:
Who plenteous store of glorious wealth have gained,
By them the other two are easily obtained.
Couplet Explanation:
To those who have honestly acquired an abundance of riches, the other two, (virtue and pleasure) are things easy (of acquisition).
