“for never does anyone who does good tread the path of woe”
The lady of the poem quotes an old Tamil proverb:
These words are said by the lady of the house, and she wonders whether this old proverb will go wrong.
That proverb is in Bhagavad Gita. So MM must have studied thoroughly.
O Partha, there is certainly no ruin for him here or hereafter. For no one engaged in good meets with a deplorable end, my friend!
Another translation
The Supreme Lord said: O Partha, one who engages on the spiritual path does not meet with destruction either in this world or the world to come. My dear friend, for never does anyone who does good tread the path of woe. 6-40

Egyptian Barque
No Sangam Tamil poet except MM described Sun as a boat in the Sky. This is an Egyptian description. The supreme God in Egypt was Ra, the Sun God. He travels on a boat in the sky!

The Tamil roobers in the desrt are called Mazavars. MM says that their hair locj is like the horn of a sheep. And they stuff their mouth with sail from the ant hill. In places like Sankarankoil in Tamil Nadu the soil from the anthill is sued as medicine. Anthills are called Snakehills in Tamil.
MM in most of his verses sing about Mazavars staling cows from enemies and sharing them with their companions. Recovering cows is found in many hymns of the Rig Veda as well. It is used a s a symbol to convey many messages.
Rig Veda calls Sun as a boat or ship in the sky.
Moreover Egyptian name Ra is like Sanskrit rayi. English (sun) RAY is also derived from Sanskrit

RV.1-46-7:- Hymns are sea; Come and lead and take us like a ship. This addressed to Asvini Devas.
Here is description of Sun God Ra in the Book of Death in Egypt; Hindus say that Raku/Ketu devour sun like snakes (Eclipses)
Ra’s Daily Journey Across the Sky: Battles and Blessings
As Ra rises, he shines brightly across the sky, accompanied by the Ennead (group of nine gods). When he emerges from the sacred place, the eastern horizon trembles at the sound of Nut’s voice, sanctifying Ra’s paths. He moves in his sacred boat, enjoying the north wind while continuing his daily cycle. The great deities tremble at his voice as he commands the cosmos.

Thakar in the above verse is sheep. In Nilgris the mountain goats are called Tahr. During Sangam days all sheep and goats must have been called Tahr.
