Panini says Rajanvan; in the early commentary we come across Vidyutvan

My guess is VAN= MAN (V=M; vizi=muzi; virugam=mirugam etc)

Athiyamaan in Purananuru is Sathyavan is my guess.

Asoka’s inscription says Satyaputro =ATHIYAMAN of Purananuru; Tamil Grammar Tolkappiyam bans ‘SA’ in the initial position.

அசோகர் கல்வெட்டு சத்யபுத்ரோ = அதியமான்

சம்ஸ்க்ருதத்தில் சத்யவான் = தமிழில் அத்தியமான்

வான் = மான்

சத்ய = அதிய

தமிழில் “ச” எழுத்தில் சொற்கள் துவங்க தொல்காப்பியம் தடை விதிக்கிறது.

Buddha took this word NIRVANA and used it. But here I am looking at it from linguistic angle only.

NIR is a  negative prefix in English and many Tamilized Sanskrit words. Nirmoolam/rootout நிர்மூலம்

English dictionary gives hundreds of words with negative N

Unless a person studies Tamil and Sanskrit that person is only 50% Indian, 50% Hindu, 50% Linguist. That is why Great Shankara, Ramanuja,Madhva, Kumarila are able to interpret Hinduism better than others.
