New Tamil Lesson 8 புதிய தமிழ் பாடம் 8

Let us remember the old lessons through some verb conjugations.

What is conjugation?

conjugation/ˌkɒndʒʊˈɡeɪʃn/

noun

1.     GRAMMAR

the variation of the form of a verb in an inflected language such as Latin, by which the voice, mood, tense, number, and person are identified.

“it was the conjugation of verbs he found most difficult”

o the class in which a verb is put according to the manner of this variation.

plural noun: conjugations

“a past participle of the first conjugation”

போ  PO = Go= Irregular Verb

1..நான் அடிக்கடி கோவிலுக்குப் போவேன்.

Naan Adikkadi Kovilukku Poven = I, often, to temple, go(will go)

போவேன் = will go; but Tamils use future tense for all the things they do habitually. That is why I have translated as GO instead of WILL GO.

2.நீ அடிக்கடி லைப்ரரிக்கு போகிறாயா?

Nee Adikkadi Librarykku Pogiraayaa? = You, Often, Library to, Do go? = Do  you go to Library often?

In Tamil I have written போ கி KI றாயா?

But Tamils pronounce it GI and not KI

But if it follows IK then they pronounce it as KI.

Example : Pokkiri போக்கிரி = rogue, knave, hooligan
