Vaikom – new spelling; Vaikam -old spelling
TEMPLE ENTRY PROCLAMATION WAS ISSUED ON THE EVENING OF THE 12TH NOVEMBER 1936 BY THE MAHARAJA OF TRAVANCORE.

Over 25,000 people listened to Gandhiji on the Old Satyagraham Ashram ground in perfect silence.
Vaikam 18-1-1937 (Gandhiji’s speech)
“ I suppose you can better imagine than I can describe my joy for being second time in your midst and under such happy auspices as you all know. Only a few years ago one had to struggle hard to get the roads leading to the great temple thrown open to Avarna Hindus (Dalits). Good Madhavan assisted by Krishnswami of revered memory and by Kelappan laid the foundation of that struggle; it is a matter of deep sorrow to me – as it must be to you – that neither Madhavan nor Krishnswami is here to share your rejoicings.”
The above Viakam speech mentioned the three great heroes of Vaikam struggle. Dravidian fraud Ramaswami Nayakkar was not even in volunteers list. In the 251 page book I could not even find his name. Now we know these gangs made a mountain out of a mole.

Praise to Travancore Maharaja
Etamanoor 19-1-1937
Gandhiji speaks,
“ I am deeply grateful to you for your beautifully worded Sanskrit address and the gift of the bark tree cloth . I cannot say I am going to wear this cloth. For one thing it is too dear for me to wear, but it will adorn the museum that we have set up in Maganwadi containing specimens of village craft.
(varkala in Sanskrit, Varkalai in Kambaramayanam; now a town’s name in Kerala; V changes to B in all ancient languages following Sanskrit; Varka of Sanskrit changed to Bark(a) in English)
“As I was being taken round the temple and as I approached the centre part of the temple, I had a Pulaya boy shown to me, and he boldly mounted the steps with me. A few months ago I should not have considered such a thing possible in my life time, but what impossible for man is easily possible for God to fulfil. (it is a severe blow to anti Hindu Nayakkar) And as I said last night and have repeated in several meetings, I see in this Proclamation the spirit of God working though the hand of the Maharajah.
( in the above passage we see the heroes were Maharajah and the God)

in Pandalam meeting (20-1-1937), Gandhi said
“I have regarded this Proclamation as an act of Divinity, though outwardly it is the act of a great prince
(see the difference. The king made the Proclamation that every Hindu can enter the temple. And Gandhi praised God and the King. But Dravidian gang attributed the success to an anti God , anti Brahmin fellow!!)

Praise to Maharani
Gandhiji said to an American lady who interviewed him, “the proclamation is due to the influence one woman Her Highness Maharani of Travancore. When I was in Travancore some years ago, I met the present Maharani. She was determined to do what was the purest act of justice and it is she who is at the back of the Maharaja’s decision. It was a most courageous act to issue that Proclamation and still more courageous to carry it out to the letter. The Maharaja could not have done it without the support of his mother. So I see the hand of woman in this modern miracle.
