Hindus found out the nuances of TIME even before Albert Einstein
EINSTEIN GOT IT FROM GARUDA PURANA
1.108.7. Time allows all living beings to mature, time brings the dissolution of all people. Even when people are asleep, time is watchful and awake, it is difficult to transgress time.
xxxx
1.108.9. The passage of time is incomprehensible. It has two-fold functions, an apparent gross movement at one place and a subtle invisible movement at another. (Garuda Purana)

Lord Krishna says
“I am the Time”.
“As the many rushing torrents of rivers race towards the ocean, so do these heroes of the world of men rush into thy flaming mouths.”
Bhagavad Gita 11-28
xxxx
As moths swiftly rush into a blazing fire to perish there, so do these men rush into thy mouths with great speed to their own destruction.
Bhagavad Gita 11-29
Devouring all the worlds on every side with thy flaming mouths, thou lickest them up. Thy fiery rays fill this whole universe and scorch it with their fierce radiance, O Vishnu!
Bhagavad Gita 11-30

Big Bang in Manu Law Book
“Listen! Once upon a time this universe was made up of DARKNESS, without anything that could be discerned, without any distinguishing marks, impossible to know through reasoning, or understanding; it seemed to entirely asleep”.
“Then the Lord who is Self-existent , himself unmanifest caused this universe to manifest; putting his energy into the great elements and everything else , he became visible and dispelled the darkness”.
Manu smrti 1- 5 and 6

Creation Hymn: Nasadiya Sukta
The following remarkable passage from the Rig Veda (10-129) describes the creation of the universe.
“There was then (in the beginning) neither non-entity nor entity; there was no atmosphere, nor sky above. What enveloped all? Where in the receptacle of what (was it contained)? Was it water, the profound abyss? Death was not there, nor immortality; there was distinction of day or night. That one breathed calmly, self-supported; there was nothing different from, or above it.
In the beginning darkness existed, enveloped in darkness. All this was undistinguishable water. That one which lay void, and wrapped in nothingness, was developed by the power of fervour. Desire first arose in it. which was the primal germ of mind; and which sages, searching with their intellect, have discovered it in their heart to be the bond which connects entity with non-entity.

The ray (cord) which stretched across these worlds, was it below or above? There were there impregnating powers and mighty forces, a self-supporting principle beneath and energy above. Who knows, who here can declare, whence has sprung this creation?”

BIG BANG in Tamil Kamba Ramayana
Now to Kamban… He says in Yuddha kanda,
Seeing the condition of his brother Lakshmana, Rama sobbed. Then Devas said,
“O the Supreme! Like the spider
which can spin the finest thread
out of itself, and make a web
and can withdraw it all
You will never cease to make
and unmake these various worlds,
All lives, inside out
Which you will swallow and spit out”
–The Brahmastra chapter, Kamba Ramayana
Here expanding universe and crunching universe is compared to the spider web. And it is explained more clearly in ‘swallowing and spitting out’, i.e. the big crunch and big bang. According to Hindus it is done again and again. But scientists have not reached to that level. Even big crunch is only in hypothesis.

Universe in Manikkavasagar’s Tiruvasagam
Manikka vasagar, a great Saiva saint, who lived several hundred years before (around 6th century) Kamban described the universe in clearer terms:
“The development of the sphere of the elemental universe
Its immeasurable nature, and abundant phenomena
If one would tell their beauty in all kits particulars
As- when more than a hundred million in number spread,
The thronging atoms are sent in the ray that enters the house
So is He the great One, who exists in the minutest elements
If you would know him, Brahma and rest with Vishnu
His greatness, source, glory and end
Conjoined with His eternity, His extent, His abiding essence
……………..”
Here we can see the word used is ‘spherical’, ‘more than a hundred million’, ‘spreading/expanding’.
