Madhya Pradesh’s gift to Ayodhya: A 1100 kg ‘nagada’
Prayagraj– A 1100 kg ‘nagada’ (drum), made by a Madhya Pradesh-based social organisation is gifted to the newly- constructed Ram temple in Ayodhya.
According to Vishwa Hindu Parishad (General Secretary Kashi Prant – Gau Raksha) Lalmani Tiwari, “Authorities of Shiv Barat Ayojan and Jan Kalyan Samiti, Rewa (Madhya Pradesh), have made the world’s biggest nagada at a cost of around Rs 3 lakh.
The nagada (Drum) has received a certificate from ASIA Book Of Records which reads that Shiv Barat Ayojan Evam Jan Kalyan Samiti, Rewa, of Madhya Pradesh, India, set the record for the biggest nagada.
The nagada is a Middle Eastern drum with a rounded back and a hide head. The biggest nagada was created completely using iron on Mahashivaratri.
The nagada will be kept at Ayodhya Museum and be a major crowd puller.

One More Drum from Gujarat
500 kg Nagada From Gujarat Reaches City Of Lord Ram
The structure of Nagada involves the use of iron and copper plates as well. It was constructed by the people of the Dabgar community.
This huge Nagada, a symbol of Hindu culture, has been constructed in the Daryapur extension of Karnavati metropolis to be installed in the Ram temple.
Gujarat Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Ashok Rawal sent a letter to the temple trust requesting them to accept the musical instrument.
The Nagada, which is adorned with layers of gold and silver, was accepted by Champat Rai, General Secretary of Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
The Gujarat CM also flagged off a truck from Ahmedabad to Ayodhya carrying ‘Dhwaja Dand’ made of brass for the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The weight of ‘Dhwaja Dand’ is 4,600 kg.

108 foot long Incense Stick
A 108-foot-long incense stick, a 2,100-kg bell, a giant lamp weighing 1,100 kg, gold footwear, a 10-foot-high lock and key, and a clock that simultaneously denotes time in eight countries are among the special gifts sent for the Ram temple in Ayodhya ahead of the consecration ceremony on January 22. The artistes behind the unique gifts are hoping their gifts will be used at the grand temple.

FROG WEDDING IN ASSAM
Biswanath, March 17, 2024: As the villagers of Gorehagi village in Biswanath, Assam, grapple with severe drought, the people have revived the age-old tradition of ‘frog-wedding’ in the hope of expecting rainfall and alleviating the parched conditions. The ceremony, also known as Bhekuli Biya, saw enthusiastic participation from villagers of all ages as they fervently hoped for the skies to open up and bring relief to their drought-stricken lands.
The prolonged absence of rainfall has cast a shadow of distress over the agricultural community in Assam, where farmers are grappling with the harsh realities of drought and dust storms. In a bid to invoke the blessings of nature, villagers have turned to the age-old tradition of ‘frog wedding’, a practice deeply rooted in Assamese culture. Central to the ceremony was the symbolic union of two frogs, meticulously chosen to represent the bride and groom. With great care and reverence, villagers adorned the amphibious couple with turmeric paste and performed traditional rituals before releasing them into the village pond amidst chants and prayers for rain.
