The Annual Chariot Procession of London Murugan Temple was held today/ Sunday 4-8-2024 in Eastham in London.
Key words:
Murugan – Tamil name of Subrahmanya or Skanda or Shanmukha or Guha.
Chariot Procession – Ratha Yatra
Eastham- East London.
Kaavadi- Kanwar (yatra)
As every year, it was attended by a lot of people. The chariot went through streets near East ham underground. All the shops and most of the Hindu residents offered coconuts, flowers and fruits to the Gods. Devotees were fed at the temple In the afternoon.
The special item this year Kavadi dance by young children. Tamil musicians were playing on drums and pipes. All along the route, Tamil restaurants were distributing water, fruit juice, Sundal (boiled and spiced pulses) etc.
Many women came with traditional Milk pots on their heads. At the end the milk will be sued for Abishaekam in the temple.

ஆண்டுதோறும் நடக்கும் இலண்டன் முருகன் கோவில் தேர்த் திருவிழா, இன்று 4-8-2024 வழக்கமான
கோலாகலத்துடன் நடந்தேறியது .நூ ற்றுக்கணக்காண பக்தர்கள் முருகன்/ஸ்கந்தன் /சுப்ரமணியன் தேருடன் நடந்து வந்தனர்.. வழி நெடுகிலுமுள்ள இந்திய உணவகங்கள் , வீடுகள் தேங்காய் , பழம் , பூ, வெற்றிலை பாக் குடன் அர்ச்சனை செய்தனர். பழ ரசம், தண்ணீர் பாட்டில், சுண்டல் முதலிய பிரசாதங்களை பொது மக்களுக்கு வழங்கினார்கள் .ரயில் நிலையத்தை ஒட்டிய முக்கிய வீதிகள் வழியாக ரதம் சுமார் மூன்று மணி நேரத்துக்கு பவனி வந்தது.
வழக்கமான நாயன , மிருதங்க இசையுடன் காவடி ஆட்டமும் இந்த ஆண்டு நடந்தது. சிறுவர்கள் ஆடிய சிறப்பான காவடி ஆட்டம் எல்லோரையும் வியப்பில் ஆழ்த்தியது .நிறைய பெண்கள் பால்குடம் எடுத்தனர் ..
சுமார் 3 மணிநேர யாத்திரையின் முடிவில் மக்களுக்கு சுவையான கோவில் பிரசாதம் கிடைத்தது..
