January 30th Let us remember the Great Mahatma!

Gandhiji’s quotes on God, Prayer, Truth….

S. Nagarajan

First Act of Every Morning!

Let the first act of every morning be to make the following resolve for the day:

I shall not fear anyone on Earth

I shall fear only God

I shall not bear ill will toward anyone.

I shall not submit to injustice from anyone.

I shall conquer untruth by truth. And in resisting untruth, I shall put up with all suffering.

 Prayer

Prayer is not asking. It is longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one’s weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart.

God IS

God is, even though the whole world deny him. Truth stands, even if there be no public support, it is self-sustained.

God’s Demand

God demand’s nothing less than self-surrender as the price for the only real freedom that is worth living.

 POWER OF RAMANAMA

I have said that to take RAMA Nama from the heart means deriving help from an incomparable power. The atom bomb is as nothing compared with it. This power is capable of removing all pain.  It must, however, be admitted that it is easy to say that RAMANAMA must come from the heart, but to attain the reality is very difficult. Nevertheless, it is biggest thing man can possess.

 RAMANAMA

If a man’s mind remains impure in spite of himself, RAMANAMA should be his sole support.  (Jan 21 1946, On Nearing Madras)

RAMANAMA

The elixir of RAMANAMA imparts joy to the soul and rids the body of its ailment.

   (July 9, 1946, Poona)

RAMANAMA

He who seeks refuge in RAMANAMA obtains the satisfaction of all his desires.

   (May 25, 1946, New Delhi)

(Compiled from Gandhiji’s writings and sayings)
