I went to the State Library ,NSW in Sydney today 19th February 2025. The library always runs special exhibitions in separate halls. It has rare collections like the British Library in London which I frequently visit. Like the British Library the entry is free. But if you need books from the special collections, you must become a member, which is also free. I went round the exhibitions and browed through some books. Library has a huge collection of books, archives and paintings.

Temporary Events and Exhibitions
Some exhibitions are temporary and are on show for a limited period of time only
PIX Exhibition
PIX was Australia’s first pictorial news weekly. It hit the newsstands from 1938 . PIX was popular for over thirty years and ceased publication in 1972. It was full of sensational pictures.
Peter Kingston’s beautiful paintings are displayed in the library. Photography is allowed in Exhibitions.
The library has something for everyone even if one is not a serious reader. I took lot of pictures. After viewing all that is on display one can have coffee and snacks in the Café. Opening hours and more information about the day to day events are available from the Library’s website.
All book lovers must visit the library.
