Ashwaththama –son of Dronacharya and Kripi; at the end of 18 day Mahabharata war, he along with two other commanders survived. When he wanted to take revenge, he watched crows killing owls with fire in the night; he went to the tents of Draupadi’s children and set fire to them; they all perished except Uttara’s son in the womb. Pandavas wanted to kill him but Bhisma advised them not to kill him. They took the jewel on his head to insult him; Krishna also cursed him to live for thousands of years so that he could suffer from the cruel thoughts of war and smell of flesh.
அஸ்வத்தாமா – துரோணரின் புதல்வன் ; மஹாபாரதப் போரில் தப்பிப்பிழைத்த மூன்று கெளரவர் தளபதிகளில் ஒரு தலைவன் ; ஆந்தைகளை காகம் கொல்வதை பார்த்து, பழி தீர்க்கும் விதமாக திரவுபதியின் புதல்வர்களை இரவு நேரத்தில் தீயிட்டு அழித்தான். ஆயினும் அவன் குருவின் புதல்வர் என்பதால் உயிர்தப்பிச் செல்ல பஞ்ச பாண்டவர்கள் அனுமதித்தனர். அவன் உயிருக்கு உயிராகக் கருதிய, தலையில் இருந்த ரத்தினத்தை மட்டும் பறித்துவிட்டு, அவமானப்படுத்தி அனுப்பினார்கள் . ஆயினும் அவனுக்கு கிருஷ்ணன் சிரஞ்சீவித்வம் கொடுத்தார்; ஆயிரக்கணக்காகன் ஆண்டுகளுக்கு யுத்தக் கொடுமைகளை நினைத்து வாடி வதங்கக் கொடுத்த சாபம் இது ; இந்துக்களின் ஏழு சிரஞ்சீவிகளில் அவரும் ஒருவர்.

Abhimanyu – son of Arjuna and Subhadra. At the end of 13 year forest life, he married Uttara, daughter of king of Virata. When Abimanyu was caught up in the chkra vyuha (military formation) , he was treacherously killed by Kaurava army. At that time his wife Uttara was pregnant and Parikshit was born to them.
அபிமன்யு – அர்ஜுனனுக்கும் சுபத்ரைக்கும் பிறந்த அன்பு மகன் ; பாண்டவர்களின் வனவாசம் முடியும்போது விராட தேச மன்னரின் புதல்வி உத்தராவை மணந்தான் . போரில் சக்ரவியூவுஹாத்தில் சிக்கி இறந்தான் ஆனால் அந்த நேரத்தில் உத்தரா கர்ப்பவதியாக இருந்ததால் ஒரு பிள்ளை பிறந்தது . அவனே பரீக்ஷிதித் மகாராஜன் ஆனான்.

Shalya is a character in the Mahabharata, He was a powerful king from the Bahlika clan, ruling over the Madra kingdom. Although he was the brother of Madri, the wife of Pandu, Shalya sided with the Kauravas in the Kurukshetra War. Shalya was killed by the eldest Pandava, Yudhishthira.
சல்ய என்பவன் மாத்ர நாட்டைச் சேர்ந்தவன்; பாண்டுவின் மனைவியான மாத்ரியின் சகோதரனாக இருந்தபோதும் கெளரவர் தரப்பில் போரிட்டான் ; இறுதியில் யுதிஷ்டிரனால் போரில் கொல்லப்பட்டான்.
