பாரத , பரத என்பதை ஆங்கிலத்தில் எழுதும்போது குழப்பம் ஏற்படுகிறது அது நான்கு அல்லது  ஐந்து  விஷயங்களைக் குறிக்கிறது .

(1).பரத/ன் – ராமனின் சகோதரன் ; ராம லக்ஷ்மண பரத சத்ருக்ன என்று நாள்வரைக் குறிப்பிடுவது வழக்கம். உண்மையில் ராமனுக்கு அடுத்தவர்; கைகேயியின் புதல்வர் ; ராமனுக்காக 14 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு காத்திருந்தவர் .

(2).பரத முனி

சம்ஸ்க்ருதத்தில் ஆறாயிரம் ஸ்லோகங்களில் நாட்டியம், நாடகம் பற்றி நூல் எழுதியவர் . அவர் எழுதிய நூலை (3).பரதம் என்றும் சொல்வர். அவர் சொன்ன படி ஆடும் நாட்டியம் (4)பரத நாட்டியம். அந்தக் கலைக்கு நடராஜன் என்னும் சிவனே அதி தேவதை அல்லது தெய்வம். இப்போது பெரும்பாலும் தமிழ் நாட்டில் பயிலப்படுகிறது . (5).பாரதம் என்பது இந்தியாவின் பழைய பெயர். சகுந்தலையின் புதல்வன் (7)பரதன்  ஆண்டதால் இந்தப்பெயர். இதை மஹாபாரத நூல் செப்புகிறது . தபால்தலைகளிலும் நாணயங்களிலும் ஹிந்தி மொழியில் (8).பாரத் என்று எழுதியிருப்பார்கள் . மஹாபாரத நூலைச் சுருக்கமாகக் குறிப்பிடும்போதும் (9).பாரதம் என்பார்கள்

BHARAT/A is very often confused with four or five different things or persons.

Bharata is the brother of Rama, Lakhmana, Satrugna. Bharat is the son of Kaikeyi in Ramayana. He waited for Rama to come back to Ayodhya from the forest.

2 & 3

Bharata Muni is the author of a great book on dance and drama in Sanskrit and the book is called Bharatam.

4 & 5

Bharat or Bhaaratam is the name of India. On postage stamps they write Bharat for India in Hindi. It is named after the great emperor Bharata, son of Shakuntala according to Mahabharat. The same word Bhaarata/m is also used to denote Maha Bharat, the longest epic in the world.

Bharata Natyam

A kind of traditional Dance, mostly practised and followed in South India. Lord Nataraja (dancing Shiva) is the patron god of dance.

பகாசுரன்

மஹாபாரதத்தில் வரும் அசுரன். ஏகசக்ர என்ற நகரில் வாழ்ந்த பகாசுரன், நாள்தோறும் முறைவைத்து ஒவ்வொரு குடும்பத்திலிருந்து ஒரு மனிதனைத் சாப்பிட்டுவந்தான்  ஒரு பிராமண குடும்பத்தைக் காப்பாற்றுவதற்காக பீமன் அந்தக் குடும்பத்தின் முறையை ஏற்றுச் சென்று பகாசுரனைத் துவம்சம் செய்தான்.

BAKASURA

Mighty rakshasa, brother of Hidimba lived in the town of Ekachakra terrorising people . Bhima, one of the five Pandavas killed him. Hist tory is in Mahabharata.

பலராமன்

கிருஷ்ணனின் அண்ணன் ; ரோகிணியின் மைந்தன்; ரைவத மகாராஜாவின் மகளான ரேவதியை மணந்தவன் ; ஆதிசேஷன் என்னும் பாம்பின் அவதாரம்; மஹாபாரதப் போரில் பங்கேற்காமல் நடு நிலை வகித்து நாடு முழுதும் யாத்திரை சென்று விவசாயத்தைப் பரப்பினார். கண்ணன் மஞ்சள் சட்டைக்காரன்/பீதாம்பரதாரி ; பலராமன் நீலச் சட்டைக்காரன்/ நீலாம்பரதாரி.

BALARAMA

Elder brother of Krishna , son of Rohini . He married Revati, daughter of king Raivata . Considered an avatara/incarnation of snake Adisesha . he spread agriculture throughout India. He wore Blue shirt while his brother Krishna wore yellow shirt.

பத்ரம்

பத்திரமாகப் போய்விட்டுவா என்று சொல்லி அனுப்புவது வழக்கம். அதாவது உன்னுடைய பயணம் மங்களமாக அமையட்டும் என்று பொருள். நன்மை, மங்களம், மகிழ்ச்சி, வளமை என்ற பொருளும் உண்டு. ஓம் பத்திரம் கர்னேபி ச்ருணுயாம தேவாஹா என்று துவங்கும் மந்திரம் “ஓ தேவர்களே ! என் காதுகளில் மங்களகரமான சொற்கள் வந்து விழட்டும்”  என்று துவங்குகிறது .

BHADRAM

Means mangala, auspiciousness. Good, happy, prosperous. Auspicious, blessed;

ॐ भद्रं कर्णेभिः शृणुयाम देवाः ।

Om Bhadram Karnnebhih Shrnnuyaama Devaah |

 O Devas, May we Hear with our Ears what is Auspicious

நம்மை செய்யும் காளி; தென்னிந்தியாவில் அதிகம் வழிபடப்படும் வடிவம்  .

பரத்வாஜர்

வேதம் ராமாயணம், மஹாபாரதம் புராணங்களில் வரும் மகரிஷி; கோத்ரத்துக்குத் தலைவர்; பல முனிவர்கள் இதே பெயரைத் தாங்கி நின்றதால் இரண்டு இதிஹாசங்களிலும் வருகிறார். துரோணாச் சாரியாரின் தந்தை பெயரும் இதுதான்

BHARADWAJA

A great rishi and founder of a Gotra. Several rishis had this name from Rig Vedic days. His name is in the Ramayana, Mahabharata and puranas. Father of Dronacharya also had this name.

பீமன்

பாண்டவர்களில் மிகவும் பலசாலி; எல்லோரையும் பந்தாட வல்லவன். கீசகன், பகாசுரன், துரியோதனன் முதலியோரை எளிதாகக் கொன்ற மஹா பலசாலி;  பெருந்தீனிக்காரன் .

BHIMA

One of the five Pandava brothers; renowned for his super human strength and great appetite. He killed Duryodhana , Bakasura , Keechaka and others.

பீஷ்மர்

மஹாபாரதத்தில் பாண்டவர்களாலும்  கெளவர்களாலும்  மதிக்கப்பட்ட மாபெரும் ராஜ தந்திரி . தந்தை சந்தனு, ஒரு மீனவப் பெண்ணைக் காதலித்தவுடன், அவளுடைய நிபந்தனையை ஏற்று, என் வாழ்நாள் முழுதும்  பிரம்மச்சாரியாக இருப்பேன் என்ற மாபெரும் சபதத்தைச் செய்து,  நாட்டுரிமையை விட்டுக்கொடுத்த பெரும் தியாகி. போரில்  சிகண்டி என்ற வீரனின் பின்னால் நின்று பீஷ்மரை அர்ஜுனன்,வீழ்த்தினான் . ஆயினும் மரணத்தின் நாளைத் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கும் வரம் பெற்றிருந்ததால் 56  நாட்களுக்கு அம்புப் படுக்கையில் படுத்திருந்து உயிர் நீத்தார்

BHISHMA

Grandsire and most respected elder statesman; a bachelor in the epic Mahabharata. Symbol of supreme sacrifice. When his father Shantanu fell in love with a fisherwoman, he sacrificed his birth right to the throne. He was killed by Arjuna who stood behind Shikhandi. He had a boon to choose his day of death. So, he remained on a bed of arrows for 56 days and then left the world.

பீஷ்ம அஷ்டமி

பீஷ்மர் உயிர் நீத்த அஷ்டமி நாளில் எல்லோரும் அவருக்காக தர்ப்பணம் செய்வது சம்பிரதாயம்; அவர் சபதம் செய்து பிரம்மச்சரியாகவே வாழ்நாளைக் கழித்ததால் இந்த ஏற்பாடு

BHISHMA Ashtami

Ever year people do tarpan for him on this day because he was a bachelor and had no son to do it. Tarpana is paying obeisance to the departed souls.

பிருஹஸ்பதி – வியாழன், ஜூபிட்டர் என்றும் அழைக்கப்படுகிறார். இவர் தேவர்களுக்கு குரு ; எதிர்ப்புறத்தில், அசுரர்களுக்கு சுக்ராசார்யார் குரு. அவருடைய மகன் கச்சனுக்கும் தேவயானிக்கும்  இடையே நடந்த காதல் இந்தியா முழுதும் பல மொழிகளில் திரைப்படமாக வந்தது.

BRIHASPATI

Teacher of Devas and his counterpart Sukra was the teacher of demons/Asuras. Son of Angiras rishi/seer and father of Kacha. The love story of Kacha and  Devayani is one of the famous film / cinema stories in India
