Tirupati Temple with Modi and Andhra CM Jagan Mohan Reddy

கர்நாடகம், கேரளம், மகாராஷ்டிரம், இலங்கை ஆகிய பகுதிகளில் உள்ள 108 முக்கியக் கோவில்கள் பற்றி நான் எழுதிய நான்கு புஸ்தகங்களுக்கும்  நல்ல வரவேற்பு கிடைத்ததால் ஆந்திரம் தெலுங்கானா மாநிலங்களில் உள்ள 108 முக்கிய கோவில்கள் பற்றி எழுதவும் ஆசை பிறந்தது . ஆந்திரம் என்றவுடனே நமக்கு நினைவுக்கு வருவது திருப்பதி பாலாஜி/ வெங்கடாசலபதி கோவிலும் காளஹஸ்தி, ஸ்ரீசைலம் சிவன் கோவில்களும்தான். இவை தமிழ் நாட்டின் எல்லையை ஒட்டியவை. ஆனால் வட கோடி வரை எவ்வளவோ ஸ்தலங்கள் இருக்கின்றன. பெரும்பாலான வற்றைத் தமிழர்கள் அறியார் .

நான் மந்த்ராலயம் வரை சென்று வந்தேன். அதைத் தாண்டி மஹாராஷ்டிரம், பக்கத்து மாநிலமான கர்நாடகக் கோவில்களையும் தரிசித்து வந்தேன். இந்தியாவிலுள்ள இரண்டு லட்சம் கோவில்களையும் தரிசிக்க நூறு முறையாவது பிறக்க வேண்டும். இதுவரை நான், தென் குமரி முதல்  வட இமய ரிஷிகேஷ் -ஹரித்வார் வரை சென்றதே பெரும் பாக்கியம். இது ஒரு புறமிருக்க சென்ற ஆண்டு (2023) இலங்கையிலுள்ள கதிர்காமம், திருகோணமலை முதலிய தலங்களையும் தரிசிக்கும் பெரும்பேறும் பெற்றேன் . யான் பெற்ற இன்பம் பெறுக இவ்வையகம் என்று சொல்லி ஆந்திர- தெலிங்கனா மாநில பயணத்தைத் தொடர்வோம் .

தெலுங்கானா அல்லது தெலிங்கனா என்பது பற்றி காஞ்சி பரமாசார்ய சுவாமிகள் (சங்கராசார்யார் 1894-1994) சொன்ன சுவையான விஷயத்தை முதலில் காண்போம் இதன் உண்மையான பெயர் த்ரி லிங்க தேசம். அது மருவி தெலுங்கானா ஆனது. இந்த தேசத்து பிராமணர்கள் வடக்கில் சென்றவுடன் அவர்கள் தில்லான், தில்லோன் என்று அழைக்கப்பட்டனர். பிரபல அரசியல் வாதிகள்,கிரிக்கெட் வீரர்களின் பெயர்களில் இதைக் காணலாம். த்ரிலிங்க தலங்கள் ஸ்ரீசைலம், காளேஸ்வரம் , திராஷாராமம் ஆகிய சிவன் கோவில்கள் ஆகும்.

ஆந்திரத்தின் புகழோ ரிக் வேத காலத்திலேயே துவங்கிவிட்டது ரிக்வேதத்தின் ஐதரேய பிராமணத்தில் ஆந்திரம் குறிப்பிடப்படுகிறது. தமிழில் மிகப்பழைய நூல்கள் 2000 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்னரே வேங்கட மலையை தமிழ் நாட்டின் வட எல்லையாக குறிப்பிடுகின்றன. மெளரிய மன்னர்களும் தெற்குப் பகுதியை ஆந்திர என்று சுட்டிக் காட்டுகின்றனர் .

இப்போது ஆந்திர மாநிலத்தை ஆந்திரம்- தெலுங்கானா ( 2014) என்று பிரித்தவுடன் எந்த க்ஷேத்திரம் /தலம் எந்த மாநிலம் என்ற குழப்பமும் ஏற்பட்டுவிட்டது. ஏனெனில் பழைய தல யாத்திரை நூல்களில் எல்லா இடங்களும் ஆந்திர மாநிலம் என்றே குறிப்பிடப்படும்.

கிருஷ்ணா, கோதாவரி, துங்கபத்ரா புண்ய நதிகள் பாயும் புண்ய பிரதேசம் இது. கரை தோறும் புனிதக் கோவில்கள் எழும்பியுள்ளன.

கப்பலோட்டிய சாதவாகன மன்னர்கள் மூலம் தென்கிழக்காசிய நாடுகளில் இந்து சமயம் பரவ வித்திட்ட புண்ய பூமி இது. அவர்கள்  உதவியுடன்தான் தமிழ் மன்னர்கள் இமயத்தில் கொடி நாட்டினர் என்பதை சிலப்பதிகாரம் நமக்குச் சொல்கிறது.

வேமுலவாடா – கரீம் நகர் பட்டணத்திலிருந்து 38 கி.மீ தொலைவிலுள்ள இந்த ஊரில் சாளுக்கிய மன்னர்களால் CE 750–975 ஆண்டுகளுக்கிடையே கட்டப்பட்ட ஸ்ரீ ராஜ ராஜேஸ்வரர்  சுவாமி கோவிலுள்ளது. ஆந்திர பிரதேச மாநிலத்தில் அதிக வருவாய் உள்ள கோவில் நகரங்களில் ஒன்று. இந்த கோவிலின் வளாகத்தினுள் இராமன், இலக்குவணன், இலட்சுமி, கணபதி, பத்மனாபர் போன்ற தெய்வங்களுக்கும் கோவில்களுண்டு. மற்றோரு இடமான திரு பீமேசுவரரின் திருக்கோவில் மிகச் சிறப்புற்றது.

உமா மகேசுவரம் – மெகபூப் நகர் மாவட்டத்தில் மிக அடர்ந்த நல்லமலை காடுகளுக்கிடையே ஒரு உயர்ந்த மலைக்குன்றின்மேல் அமைந்துள்ள சிவபெருமானின் தலம். மல்லிகார்சுன சுவாமி (சிவன்) பிரமராம்பா அம்பாளின்  திருக்கோயில் உள்ளது.  கருவறைக்கு அருகில் பாபநாசனம் என்ற இடத்தில் ஊறும் கிணறு இருக்கிறது

Sangamam UK third annual meeting was held on 29^th June 2204 at Purley in Greater London area. About 25 active workers attended the meeting. Kalyan and Pravin introduced the organisation for new members and explained the recent activities of the organisation. Sri Prakash ji, active RSS karyakartha from Chennai, spoke for an hour on line and answered the questions raised by the UK Members. Those who couldn’t attend from far off places like Liverpool and Birmingham attended the meeting via zoom.

The program started with small refreshment
and Manju from Liverpool delivered the welcome note and program agenda.
Post welcome note, Dakshin Kshetra Sampark Pramukh Shri Prakash Ji, from Chennai, spoke.

Satish and Chelliya introduced the new members and mentioned recent activities conducted by the
organization. Mothi Sayeeram and Subbu explained the organization’s present state and
future roadmap to everyone. Those who couldn’t attend in person from far-off places like
Liverpool and Birmingham joined the meeting online

Last year Tamil Nadu Governor Sri Ravi Ji  addressed the annual gathering in Reading. This year RSS key Karyakartha from Chennai was the main speaker.

Sri Prakashji , an RSS Dakshin Kshetra Sampark Pramukh from Chennai,i, delivered his speech online from Chennai. He quoted elaborately from the works of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Swami Vivekananda and folk tales from Ramayana. He explained the five point resolution passed by RSS for celebrating its centenary . RSS was started by Doctor Ji in 1925 with only 17 people. Now it has spread throughout India and he said just in the past week,  a two day training programme was conducted with 600 youths in Tamil Nadu.

Prakshji explained the RSS  Panch Parivartan program for benefits of the society. The program includes five key points for social transformation namely samajik samrasata, kutumb prabodhan, paryavaran, the insistence on ‘Swa’ and the duties of the citizens.

There is a need for comprehensive and immense efforts to sustain the lively and value-based nature of our family system. Through our day to day behaviour and conduct, we should ensure that our family life works for building character, enriching life-values and strengthening mutual relationships. The family life will be joyous and blissful through dining, praying, celebrating festivals and going on pilgrimage together, the use of mother tongue, insistence on Swadeshi and, nourishing and protecting family and social traditions. Family and Society are complementary to each other. To instil the sense of social responsibility, encouraging donations for social, religious and educational cause and readiness to help the needy as per ability should become the nature of our family.”

Saving water, reviving old values, living the life which Ramayana taught us, contacting and connecting families were explained by Prakashji with stories and anecdotes.

If the electrical connection fails in a house the electrician comes , restores the lost contact and then connects the wires. Then only we get back the bright lights. So, start with contact first and then connect the families through activities, Prakashji emphasized.

London Swaminathan , who was invited as a guest speaker, spoke for 20 minutes about attracting new members through new activities.

Pravin, Sangamam organiser, UK introduced London Swaminathan as an author of 120 Tamil and English books and former BBC broadcaster, Dinamani Newspaper Senior Sub Editor and University of London (SOAS) Tamil Teacher where he helped his Professor Dr Stuart Blackburn, erecting Tamil Poet Tiru Valluvar statue donated by Government of Tamil Nadu .

Since the list of suggested activities was circulated to the members, London Swaminathan  briefly explained how successfully they conducted new activities in the past 18 years through four organisations. Now that zoom is available for online activities, lot of things can be done online, he reminded. But he warned not to initiate new activities without knowing the implications. Swaminathan insisted that Mental, Physical and Intellectual capacity along with available resources must be taken into account before starting new programmes. He gave an example of his friend who wanted to become a Mittal or an Ambani or an Adani overnight without any infrastructure. So, one must think small and get it done successfully. Then, one can expand it slowly.

Harini, key member of the Sangamam UK and her husbandMr Venkatesh were the hosts for this meeting. They made fantastic arrangements, provided refreshments and finally ended with dinner. As it was announced as a family gathering, many families came with their children.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Varadharajan and a group photo to
commemorate the occasion.

பிரச்சினைகளும் தீர்வுகளும்

வாழ்வில் ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் அன்றாடம் ஏராளமான பிரச்சினைகள் தோன்றுகின்றன. சிந்திக்கிறோம்; சிலவற்றிற்குத் தீர்வு கிடைக்கிறது. சிலவற்றிற்கு என்ன செய்வது என்று தெரியாமல் திகைக்கிறோம்.

மாற்றி யோசியுங்கள் என்று ஒரு புதிய வழியைக் காண்பிக்கிறார் எட்வர்ட் டி போனோ!

மாற்றி யோசிப்பது என்றால், அது என்ன? எப்படி மாற்றி யோசிப்பது?

இதை அறிந்து கொள்ள கீழ்க்கண்ட புதிர்களை முதலில் விடுவியுங்கள்.

முடியாவிட்டால் விடைகளும் கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது! அதைப் பார்த்துக் கொள்ளலாம்.

புதிர் 1

ஒரு பெண்மணிக்கு ஒரே நாளில் ஒரே சமயத்தில் இரு குழந்தைகள் பிறக்கிறது. ஆனால் அவர்கள் இரட்டையர் இல்லை. அப்படி என்றால் இதற்கான விளக்கம் என்ன?

புதிர் 2

வேகமாகச் சென்ற ஒரு கார் விபத்துக்குள்ளாகிறது. அதில் பயணித்த தந்தை உடனே இறந்து விடுகிறார். அபாய நிலையில் இருந்த பையனை மருத்துவமனையில் அவசர சிகிச்சை பிரிவில் சேர்க்கின்றனர். அறுவைசிகிச்சைக்காக உள்ளே வந்த சர்ஜன், “இந்த ஆபரேஷனை என்னால் செய்ய முடியாது. இவன் எனது மகன்” என்கிறார். இதற்கான விளக்கம் என்ன?

புதிர் 3

அழகிய ராஜகுமாரியை ஏழை ஒருவன் காதலித்தான். அவளை மணம் புரிய ஆசைப்பட்டான். ஆனால் இதை அறிந்து கொண்ட அரசன் கோபப்பட்டான். அவனுக்கு இது பிடிக்கவில்லை. ஆனால் அவன் தன் மக்களிடம் தான் நேர்மை தவறாத ஒருவனாக நடந்து கொள்வதாகக் காண்பிக்க ஆசைப்பட்டான். அரசவையைக் கூட்டிய அரசன் தான் இரு துண்டுச் சீட்டுகளை ஒரு பெட்டியில் போடுவதாகவும் ஒன்றில் வேண்டாம் என்று இருக்கும்,இன்னொன்றில் மணம் புரியலாம் என்று இருக்கும் என்றும் எந்த ஒன்றை அந்த ஏழை எடுக்கிறானோ அதன் படியே முடிவு இருக்கும் என்று சொன்னான்.

பெட்டியில் இரு துண்டுச் சீட்டுகளை அவன் மக்களின் முன்னே போட்டான். ஆனால் அந்த இரண்டிலும் வேண்டாம் என்றே எழுதப்பட்டிருந்தது. இது யாருக்கும் தெரியாது.

ஏழையைக் கூப்பிட்டு ஒரு சீட்டை எடு என்றான் அரசன்.

அரசனின் தந்திரத்தை ஏழை புரிந்து கொண்டான். மாற்றி யோசித்தான். செயல்பட்டான்

ராஜகுமாரியை மணந்து கொண்டான். எப்படி?

புதிர் 1

விடை: அந்தப் பெண்மணிக்கு இரண்டுக்கும் மேல் ஒரே பிரசவத்தில் மூன்று குழந்தைகள் பிறந்திருக்கின்றன. அந்தக் குழந்தைகளை இரட்டையர் என்று சொல்ல முடியாதல்லவா?!

புதிர் 2

விடை: ஆபரேஷன் தியேட்டருக்குள் நுழைந்த சர்ஜன் பையனுடைய அம்மா!

புதிர் 3

விடை: தனது மாமனராக ஆகப் போகும் அரசனை இழிந்தவனாகக் காட்டக் கூடாது. அதே சமயம் தான் ராஜகுமாரியையும் மணந்து கொள்ள வேண்டும். இரண்டு சீட்டுகளையும் மக்கள்  முன்னால் காண்பியுங்கள் என்றோ அரசன் நியாயமானவன் இல்லை என்றோ சொன்னால் அதன் பின் விளைவுகள் நன்றாக இருக்காது.

ஆகவே அந்த ஏழை யோசித்தான். பெட்டியில் கையை விட்டு ஒரு சீட்டை எடுத்தான். அதைப் படித்தான். அதை உடனே சுக்கு நூறாகக் கிழித்துப் போட்டான்.

“அரசரே! நான் எடுத்த சீட்டில் மணம் புரியலாம் என்று எழுதப்பட்டிருந்தது என்றான்.அடுத்த சீட்டை எடுத்துப்பார்த்து இதை உறுதி செய்து கொள்ளுங்கள், மக்களுக்கும் காட்டுங்கள்” என்றான் அவன்.

இப்போது அரசனுக்கு வேறு வழி இல்லை. அடுத்த சீட்டில் வேண்டாம் என்று இருக்கிறது.

ஆகவே அவன் திருமணத்திற்கு ஒப்புக் கொண்டதோடு தனது மருமகனாக வருபவன் ஒரு புத்திசாலி, தன் பெயரைக் காப்பாற்றுவான் என்பதையும் புரிந்து கொண்டான்.

திருமணம் நடந்தது!

மாற்றி யோசியுங்கள்! நிலைமையைச் சமாளியுங்கள்!!

மாற்றி யோசித்து எப்படி ஒரு நிலைமையைச் சமாளிப்பது?

இதற்கு எடுத்துக்காட்டாக ஒரு அருமையான சம்பவம் உண்டு.

ஒரு கைதி தனது மனைவிக்கு எழுதும் ஒவ்வொரு கடிதமும் அதிகாரிகளால் நன்கு படிக்கப்பட்டு சென்ஸார் ஆன பின்னே அவளிடம் சேர்க்கப்படுகிறது என்பதை நன்கு அறிவான்.

ஒரு நாள் மனைவியிடமிருந்து அவனுக்கு ஒரு கடிதம் வந்தது. மனைவி, தனக்கு தோட்டத்தில் செடிகளை நட ஆசை என்றும் ஆனால் தோட்டத்தில் உள்ள பூமியை உழுது தோண்டும் மெஷினை தனக்கு இயக்கத் தெரியாதென்றும் எழுதி இருந்தாள். என்ன செய்வது என்று தெரியாமல் இருப்பதாகவும் அவள் வருத்தப்பட்டிருந்தாள்.

கைதி உடனே பதில் எழுதினான் மனைவிக்கு :”அன்பே! அப்படி எதுவும் செய்து விடாதே! அந்தத் தோட்டத்தில்தான் நான் திருடிய அத்தனை சொத்தையும் புதைத்து வைத்திருக்கிறென்” என்று!

ஒரே வாரத்தில் மனைவிடமிருந்து கடிதம் ஒன்று வந்தது.

திடீரென்று அரசு அதிகாரிகள் அங்கு வந்து நிலத்தை நன்கு தோண்டி எதையோ தேடினர் என்றும் ஒன்றும் காணாமல் திரும்பிப் போய் விட்டனர் என்றும் இப்போது செடிகளை தான் விரும்பியபடி நடப் போவதாகவும் எழுதியிருந்தாள்.

கைதிக்கு மகிழ்ச்சி. மாற்றி யோசித்து ஒரு வழியைக் கண்டுபிடித்து விட்டான் அல்லவா! அதனால்!

இதே போல் ஏராளமான சுவையான மாற்றி யோசிக்கும் வழிகளைக் கூறும் புதிர்களும் நிஜ சம்பவங்களும் உண்டு.

இதை உலகத்திற்கு எடுத்துச் சொன்னவர் தான் எட்வர்ட் டி போனோ

எட்வர்ட் சார்லஸ் ஃபிரான்ஸிஸ் பியூப்ளியஸ் டி போனோ தெற்கு ஐரோப்பாவில் உள்ள மால்டா என்ற தீவில் செயிண்ட் ஜூலியன்ஸ் பே என்ற இடத்தில் 1933-ம் ஆண்டு மே மாதம் 19-ம் நாள் அன்று பிறந்தவர்.

தந்தை ஜோஸப் டீ போனோ ஒரு மருத்துவர். தாய் ஜோஸபைன் அயர்லாந்தைச் சேர்ந்த ஒரு பத்திரிகையாளர். வகுப்பில் படிக்கும் போதெல்லாம் இவரே வகுப்பில் மிகவும் குறைந்த வயதுள்ள மாணவனாக இருப்பார். ஒவ்வொரு வகுப்பாகப் போகாமல் இரண்டு முறை மேல் வகுப்புகளுக்கு படிப்பில் சூரனாக இருந்ததால் தாவினார். பின்னர் . மால்டா பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் பயின்று மருத்துவர் ஆனார். பின்னர் ஆக்ஸ்போர்டுக்குச் சென்றார். அங்கு உளவியலிலும் மனவியலிலும் தேர்ச்சி பெற்றார். தனது பிஹெச்.டி பட்டத்தைப் கேம்பிரிட்ஜில் பெற்றார்.

Where is it?

Covent Garden tube station (Underground ) is in Piccadilly Line.

One can walk from Holborn, Charing Cross, Leicester Square Tube stations within ten minutes.

Covent Garden in London is an old style market place where you find gem stones, fashion jewellery, clothes, artifacts, hand made bags, novel electronic clocks, gift items etc. There are restaurants , street food and musicians and jugglers to watch. Nothing is expensive.

It is similar to Moore Market in  Chennai (which was burnt down in a fire accident.)

I cant forget Covent Garden because I acted in Pygmalion of Bernard Shaw with famous Tamil Actress Radhika. We invited her to London on behalf of BBC Tamilosai to act in POOKKAARI (flower vendor, adapted in tamil by Shankar Anna of BBC Tamil Service. He gave me the main role. For the photo shoot of Radio Drama, BBC took us to Covent Garden. It was an unforgettable experience.

Story of Pygmalion

Pygmalion was a play written by George Bernard Shaw in 1913. It deals with themes of social class, stereotypes, and appearances vs. reality. It tells the story of Eliza Doolittle, a lower-class girl who sells flowers, and an upper class linguist named Henry Higgins.

Shaw took his title from the ancient Greek legend of the famous sculptor named Pygmalion who could find nothing good in women, and, as a result, he resolved to live out his life unmarried. However, he carved a statue out of ivory that was so beautiful and so perfect that he fell in love with his own creation.

The moral of Pygmalion is that life is too realistic to believe in the fabrication of idealism. For instance, Eliza has been transformed into a duchess yet she is aware that she would be no more to Higgins than a pair of slippers.

On the days I felt sleepy during summer lunch time, I used to take a bus from Bush House of BBC World Service and go to Covent Garden to watch the jugglers there. That was 30 years ago.

On 17^th May, 2024 I took my brother and his wife to the Covent Garden. They visited London for the first time. It was not changed much. It looked almost same, though I visited it after two decades. We watched a street music player. I was interested in a shop where they were selling old pollsters with golden sayings. (Please see the pictures I took)

முந்திய கட்டுரையில் ஞானக்கொழுந்து , ஞான வாள் , ஞானப்பொருள், ஞானம் படர்கின்ற கொம்பு,ஞானத் தலைவன் முதலிய சொற்களை திருமூலர் எப்படிக் கையாளுகிறார் என்று கண்டோம் . இதோ  மேலும் சில ஞானச் சொற்கள் :

1814. மேவிய ஞானத்தின் மிக்கிடின் மெய்ப்பரன்

ஆவயின் ஞான நெறிநிற்றல் அர்ச்சனை

ஓவற வுட்பூ சனை செய்யில் உத்தமஞ்

சேவடி சேரல் செயலறல் தானே.

 மெய்ப்பரனாகிய சிவபெருமானை அடைதற்குரிய  ஞானம் மேற்பட்டவிடத்துச் செய்யும் வழிபாடு ஞான பூசையாகும். அதுவே  அருச்சனையாகும். இவ் வருச்சனையினை ‘ஞான நூல்தனை, ஓதல் ஓதுவித்தல் நற்பொருளைக் கேட்பித்தல் தான்கேட்டல் , ஈனமிலாப் பொருளதனைச் சிந்தித்தல் ஐந்தும் ஞானபூசை’ என்பர்.  நெஞ்சம் பூசையிடமாகவும், கொப்பூழ் ஓம இடமாகவும், புருவநடு செம்பொருள் காணும் நிலைக்களமாகவும் கொண்டு புரிவது உட்பூசையாகிய அகவழிபாடாகும். இவ் வழிபாட்டில் உறைத்து நிற்போர் தலையாயவராவர்.

That leads unto the Para Supreme,

The Path of Jnana is all Archana;

Great indeed is constant worship within;

வேட்கை யுற்றாலும் பயிற்சியால், விந்துவினை வெளிவிடாது உள்ளடக்கி இன்புறும் நன்மையரும் உளர். அவர்கள் வருமாறு: யோகியும், ஞானியும், தலையாய சித்தனும், தலையாய யோகியும், தலையாய ஞானமுதல்வனும் ஆவர். இந்த ஐந்து பேரும்  எப்போதும் விந்துவினை காக்கும் தலைமையராவர்.

தாவரவியல் அதிசயங்கள்

சுவீடன் நாட்டு தாவரவியல் விஞ்ஞானி கார்ல் லின்னேயஸ் 

 கார்ல் லின்னேயஸ்     Swedish botanist Carl Linnaeus தாவரங்களை குடும்பம் குடும்பமாகப் பிரித்து தாவரவியல் ஆராய்சசிக்கு வழிவகுத்தார். அவர் இப்படி ஒரு புதிய உத்தியை வகுப்பதற்கு முன்னரே இந்துக்கள் ஆயுர்வேதத்  துறையை உருவாக்கி அவர்கள் பாணியில் தாவரங்களை வகைப்படுத்தினார்.அதிசயம் என்னவென்றால் லின்னேயஸ் பிரிவுப்படி ஆல மரம் , அரச மரம், அத்திமரம் ஆகிய மூன்றும் ஒரே குடும்ப மரங்கள்; மேலும் அதற்குக் கீழ்வரும் உட்பிரிவிலும்  ஒன்று சேர்ந்தே வரும். அதை மோரேசி குடும்பம் , பைகஸ் ஜீனஸ்(Moraceae Family, , Ficus Genus என்று பிரித்தார்கள். இந்த மூன்று மரங்களும் ஒரே ஸ்லோகத்தில் கடவுளின் பெயர்களாக வி.ச.வில் வருகின்றன . மேலும் இவை மூன்றும் இன்றுவரை புனிதமாகவே கருதப்படுகின்றன.

வட சாவித்திரி விரதம் மூலம் ஆலமரம் புனிதம் அடைந்தது. தட்சிணாமூர்த்தி நல்லவருக்கு உபதேசம் செய்ததும் குருக்ஷேத்திரத்தில் பகவான் கிருஷ்ணன் பகவத் கீதை உபதேசம் செய்ததும் ஆலமரத்தின் கீழேதான் . சங்க இலக்கியத்தில் ராமன்,  பாலம் கட்ட என்ஜினீயர் நீலனுடன் ஆலோசனை நடத்தியதும் ஆலமரத்தின் கீழேதான்.

ரிக் வேதத்தில் மஹா வ்ருக்ஷம் என்றும் கீழ் நோக்கிய மரம் என்றும் அழைக்கப்பட்டது .

அரச மரத்தின் புகழ் சிந்து சமவெளி நாகரீகம் காலம் முதல் இன்றுவரை நீடிக்கிறது. புத்தர் இந்தமரத்தின் கீழ் தவம் செய்து ஞானம் அடைந்ததால் இலங்கை வரை இதன்  கிளைகள் எடுத்து செல்லப்பட்டன. பிள்ளையார் கோவில்களில் பெரும்பாலானவை அரச மரம் அல்லது ஆல மரத்தின் கீழ் அமைந்தன. இதை புனித மரம் என்று பெயர் சூட்டினார்கள் . உபநிஷதத்தில் பிப்பலாடன் என்று ரிஷியின் பெயர் கிடைக்கிறது ; இது அரச மரத்தின் பெயர் ஆகும்

அரச மரக்குச்சிகளை இன்றும் சமித்து என்ற பெயரில் யாக யக்ஞங்களில் பயன்படுத்துகின்றனர்.

அத்தி மரக்குச்சிகளும் யாகத்தில் பயன்படுகின்றன.

ந்யக்ரோத — நாம எண் 822-  என்ற ஆலமரத்துக்கு சங்கரர் வியாக்கியானம் :- கீழேயுள்ள பிரபஞ்சத்துக்கெல்லாம் மேலா யிருப்பவர் அல்லது தனது மாயையினால் எல்லாப் பிராணிகளையும் கீழே வைத்து மறைப்பவர் .

உதும்பரா – நாம எண்  -823-

ஆகாயத்திற்கு மேம்பட்டவர் ; அன்னம் முதலியவறறால் அனைத்துலகையும் போஷிப்பவர்.

அஸ்வத்த- நாம எண் 824 

எல்லா மரங்களுக்குள்  நான் அரச மரமாய் இருக்கிறேன் என்று கிருஷ்ணர் பகவத் கீதையில் 10-26 சொல்கிறார்.

திருமூலரும் செப்பும் அதிசயம் 

லின்னேயசுக்கு சுமார் 1000 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்னர் வாழ்ந்த திருமூலரும் இந்த மூன்று மரங்களையும் ஒரே பாட்டில் வைத்துப் பாடுகிறார். இது நாட்டின் கலாசார ஒற்றுமையைக் காட்டுகிறது மூன்று மரங்களும் புனித மரங்கள் என்பதையும் உறுதி செய்கிறது இதோ திருமந்திர பாடல்

அரசுட னாலத்தி யாகும்அக் காரம்

விரவுகனலில் வியனுரு மாறி

நிரவயன் நின்மலன் தாள்பெற்ற நீதர்

உருவம் பிரமன் உயர்குலம் ஆமே.

ஆறாம் தந்திரம்/  3 திருநீறு / திருமந்திரம்

இந்த மரத்தின் குச்சிகள் எரிந்து சாம்பலானவுடன் அதை விபூதியாகப் பயன்படுத்திய செய்தியைத் தருகிறார்.

மேடம் வாக்கர் கம்பெனி

மேடம் சி.ஜே.வாக்கர் மானுபாக்ஸரிங் கம்பெனி என்ற நிறுவனத்தை 1910-ல் இண்டியானாபோலிஸில் அவர் தொடங்கி ஷாம்பூ உள்ளிட்ட பொருள்களைத் தயாரித்து விற்க ஆரம்பித்தார்.

1911 முதல் 1919 முடிய ஆயிரக் கணக்கில் அவரிடம் விற்பனைப் பிரதிநிதிகளாக ஏராளமானோர் வேலைக்குச் சேர்ந்தனர். 1917-ல் 20000 பேருக்கு நிறுவனம் பயிற்சி தந்து விட்டது. அவர்கள் அனைவரும் தமக்கென ஒரு யூனிபார்ம் உடையை அணிந்து வலம் வந்தனர். தங்களுடன் கொண்டு சென்ற அழகு சாதனைப் பொருள்களை வீடு வீடாக எடுத்துச் சென்று அங்குள்ள பெண்மணிகளுக்கு ஒப்பனை செய்து அவர்கள் அழகை “எடுத்துக் காட்டினர்”. கேட்க வேண்டுமா, ஆதரவு பெருகியது.

கரிபியன் மற்றும் மத்திய அமெரிக்கா உள்ளிட்ட இடங்களுக்கும் சென்று தனது தயாரிப்புகளை அவர் அறிமுகப்படுத்தினார்.

தொழில் வளர்ச்சியில் அவரது மகள் லைலா பெரும் பங்கு வகித்தார். கடுமையான போட்டி அழகு சாதனப் பொருள்களின் தயாரிப்பிலும் விற்பனையிலும் நிலவி வந்தது. அதற்கு ஈடு கொடுத்து தொழிலை தாயும் மகளும் வளர்த்தனர்.

ஆங்காங்கே பியூட்டி பார்லர்களையும் சலூன்களையும் நிறுவி தங்கள் தயாரிப்புகளை மக்களிடையே அவர்கள் விளம்பரப்படுத்தினர்.

சுயமுயற்சியால் பெற்ற வெற்றி

அந்தக் காலத்தில் கறுப்பினப் பெண்கள் அடிமையாக விற்கப்பட்டனர். கொடுமையாக நடத்தப்பட்டனர். ஆபிரகாம் லிங்கன் (1809-1865) இதற்கு ஒருவழியாக  முடிவு கட்டினார். மறுமலர்ச்சி காலமும் வர ஆரம்பித்தது!

1912-ல் நேஷனல் நீக்ரோ பிஸினஸ் லீக் வருடாந்திர விழாவில் அவர் பேசினார்.

உலகின் ஆகப் பெரும் கோடீஸ்வரியாக தனது சொந்த முயற்சியால் ஆன முதல் கறுப்பினப் பெண்மணியான இவர் நியூயார்க்கில் இர்விங்கில் ஒரு மாபெரும் மாளிகையைத் தனக்கென கட்டிக் கொண்டார். 20000 சதுர அடி பரப்பில் 2,50,000 டாலர் செலவில் நியூயார்க்கில் அவர் வீடு கட்டப்பட்டது. அவரது அடுத்த வீட்டில் மிகப் பெரும் கோடீஸ்வரரான ஜான் டி.ராக்பெல்லர் வசித்து வந்தார். அவருக்கு நிகராக தன்னை உயர்த்திக் கொண்டார் வாக்கர்.

சமுதாய சேவை

உலகின் மிகப் பெரும் கோடீஸ்வரியாகி விட்ட அவர் தன் கவனத்தை சமுதாயத்தின் மீது கவனம் செலுத்தினார். இண்டியானாபோலிஸில் ஒய்.எம்.சி.ஏ. கறுப்பினத்தவர்களுக்கான சங்கத்திற்கு ஒரு கட்டிடத்தைக் கட்டிக் கொடுக்க ஆரம்பித்ததிலிருந்து பல்லாயிரம் டாலர்களை அவர் கல்வி மேம்பாட்டிற்காகவும் இதர மேம்பாடுகளுக்காகவும் கொடுக்க ஆரம்பித்தார்.

தாழ்த்தப்பட்டுக் கிடந்த கறுப்பினப் பெண்மணிகளுக்கு அவர் எப்படி பட்ஜெட்டை தயாரித்து தாங்களே சுயதொழிலை மேற்கொண்டு முன்னேறுவது என்பதைக் கற்றுக் கொடுக்க ஆரம்பித்தார்.

அரசியலில் செல்வாக்கு பெற்ற அவருக்கு புக்கர் டி வாஷிங்டன், மேரி மக்லீட் பெதூன் உள்ளிட்ட பல சமுதாயத் தலைவர்கள் சிறந்த நண்பர்களாக ஆயினர்.

முதல் உலகப்போர் முடிவில் அவர் நீக்ரோ போர் நிவாரண வட்டத்திற்கு தலைவராக இருந்து நீக்ரோக்களுக்கு உரிய நிவாரணத்தை வழங்க ஏற்பாடு செய்தார்.

மறைவு

வாக்கருக்கு சிறுநீரகக் கோளாறு ஏற்பட்டது. 51-ம் வயதில் ஹைபர் டென்ஷனால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டார். 1919, மே மாதம் 25-ம் நாள் தனது 51-ம் வயதில் அவர் மறைந்தார். அவர் நியூயார்க் நகரில் நல்லடக்கம் செய்யப்பட்டார்.

ரெஜினா டெய்லர் என்பவர் வாக்கரைப் பற்றி 2006-ல் ‘தி ட்ரீம்ஸ் ஆஃப் சாரா ப்ரீட்லவ்’ என்ற ஒரு நாடகத்தை எழுதினார். அது மக்களிடையே பெரும் வரவேற்பைப் பெற்றது.

தொடர்ந்து இவரது வரலாற்றை பல தொலைக்காட்சி நிகழ்ச்சிகள் சீரியலாகக் காட்டின. அவரை கௌரவித்து தபால் தலை வெளியிடப்பட்டது. அவர் பெயரால் பல விருதுகள் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டன.

பெண்களுக்கு அன்புரை

உலகில் வாழும் பெண்மணிகளுக்கு, குறிப்பாக ஒடுக்கப்பட்ட பெண்மணிகளுக்கு மேடம் வாக்கரின் அன்புரை இது தான்:

Two Bhagwan Vishnu murtis were excavated in two states of Bharat in the last ten days. In Maharashtra’s Buldhana, ASI (Archaeological Survey of India) unearthed a Bhagwan Sheshshayi Vishnu murti on 20 June. ASI discovered a murti of Sri Hari Vishnu in Bhojshala Mandir in Madhya Pradesh’s (MP) Dhar District on 24 June.

Sheshshayi Vishnu murti unearthed in Buldhana, Maharashtra

During an excavation in Sindkhed Raja town, Maharashtra’s Buldhana district, the ASI uncovered an intricate and detailed Sheshshayi Vishnu murti, according to an official statement released on Sunday (23 June, 2024).

Superintendent Archaeologist of Nagpur Circle, Arun Malik, reported that the sculpture was discovered at a depth of 2.25 meters. The find occurred during the Lakhuji Jadhavrao’s Chhatri conservation work when a team of experts noticed some stone alignments. Further digging revealed a temple base. After exposing the sabha mandap, the team decided to investigate the temple’s depth, which led to the discovery of Mata Laxmi vigraha. Eventually, a large Sheshshayi Vishnu murti was unearthed. The sculpture measures 1.70 meters in length and 1 meter in height and is expected to have a base width of 30 centimetres, which is yet to be fully exposed.

“The sculpture is carved from chlorite schist rock, a material commonly used by the Hoysalas of South India,” Malik explained. “It depicts Vishnu reclining on Shesha Naga, with goddess Laxmi massaging his feet while seated on a cushion. The sculpture also portrays the Samudramanthan, featuring jewels like Ashwa and Airavat.”

Malik highlighted the detailed panel, which includes depictions of Dashavatara, Samudramanthan, and Sri Hari Vishnu reclining, as a unique feature of this find.

Iconography expert Saili Palande-Datar noted that the schist stone used in this vigraha is softer than the basalt rock typically found locally. She added that similar sculptures found in Marathwada were made from basalt rock. She pointed out the prominent depiction of the donor couple between Sheshnaag and Samudramanthan as a distinctive element of this sculpture. Palande-Datar emphasized that this sculpture would be a significant piece in any future art museum in Maharashtra.

ASI discovers Bhagwan Vishnu murti in Bhojshala Mandir, MP

On Monday (24 June), 2024 a team from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) discovered a vigraha of Bhagwan Vishnu in the northeastern part of the Bhojshala complex in MP’s Dhar district.

A Hindu petitioner, Gopal Sharma, revealed that the ASI team had previously uncovered statues of Sri Krishna, Bhagwan Bholenath, and the seven-faced Bhagwan Basukinathi from the same area of Bhojshala. Speaking to news agency ANI, Sharma stated, “Following the High Court’s directions, the ASI team initiated their survey on 22 March. This marks the 95th day of the survey. A team of eight officials and 32 labourers surveyed the sanctum sanctorum (garbhagriha) and the northeastern part of Bhojshala. Today, while photographing the Garbhagriha, they found a statue of Lord Vishnu. Previously, statues of Lord Krishna, Lord Bholenath, and seven-faced Lord Basukinathi were also discovered. The ASI has now taken the statue of Lord Vishnu under their surveillance.”

The ASI began their survey of the Bhojshala/Kamal Maula Mosque complex, located in the tribal-dominated Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh, on 22 March, making preparations to use carbon-dating equipment. Hindus consider this medieval-era monument a temple dedicated to Devi Vagdevi (Saraswati), while the Muslim community regards it as the Kamal Maula Mosque.

On 11 March, the Indore bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court ordered the ASI to form an expert committee to “complete scientific investigation, survey, and excavation, using the latest methods and techniques” and submit a report within six weeks. During the next hearing on 29 April, the ASI requested more time, and the court granted an additional eight weeks from 29 April for the survey, stipulating that no further extensions would be allowed to comply with the 11 March order.

The ASI has been instructed to submit a comprehensive report by 2 July 2024. The next court hearing is scheduled for 4 July.

As per a 2003 arrangement, Hindus can perform puja at the complex on Tuesdays from sunrise to sunset, while Muslims offer namaz on Fridays from 1 pm to 3 pm.

Welcome to London- Part 4

On 15^th of May,2024 I went to the palace with my brother and his wife who visited London for the first time. A strange thing happened after we spent twenty minutes taking pictures from different angles. Suddenly the police came and chased us  for half a furlong saying the ‘THE KING IS COMING’. Though I had been to the palace several times, this was the first time I visited it after Charles became The King. Hundreds of tourists  waited for the king for half hour, but “he was not lucky to have our Darshan”. So we left the place palace . if we were half hour late we could have missed the palace, because you can’t see much from half a furlong distance. Any way next time you go there find out the King’s day to day schedule.

I was lucky to be invited by the Queen with my wife a few years ago. Don’t jump to the conclusion that London Swaminathan is that BIG VIP. Every year the Queen, now the King, invites 1000 prominent persons to the place for Dinner (actually Lunch) where you are served  thousands of Vegetarian and Non Vegetarian dishes. But no one is allowed to take anything inside the palace. So we missed the rare opportunity of taking pictures with the Queen, though she came very near to us to wish her known friends.

Since my wife came wearing silk sari, some people came to us and appreciated the beauty of Indian saris. But none of us could carry any camera or mobile phone inside the palace. But when I went to Prime Minister David Cameron’s house (10 Downing Street) for Deepavali (Diwali) dinner a few years ago, he came straight to us when I said I was from Hindu Forum of Britain, he called the photographer and asked him to take several pictures posing with us. Though we were not allowed to take any camera or mobile inside, pictures were sent to us in a few days’ time. Palace also should do something like it.

It is more interesting to see the mad crowd gathering there every day than the building. People from all countries in the world come there. Nowadays more Chinese and Japanese are seen in the vicinity.

If the King leaves the Palace for tour, the Palace flag (Royal Standard) will not fly at the top.

Now let us look at the Buckingham palace

BUCKINGHAM PALACE, where King Charles lives, is in the heart of London. Nearest underground station is Green Park. Three important lines- Jubilee, Piccadilly and Victoria lines – connect this station with most of London. Anyone staying in any part of London can reach this place within an hour and walk to the palace through the park. Well connected by buses as well.

Changing of Guards is a ceremony that happens every day in the morning (alternate days in winter) around mid-day which is watched by thousands of people.

We, the tax payers, allocate money for the king to maintain his palace buildings all over the UK and his family and his Royal visits around the world. Crazy British people say they want the monarchy for ever in every survey. They belong to ‘primitive society’ whereas in India, Mrs Indira Gandhi stopped tax payers money to the Kings and Queens in one single day. Now Indian palaces are converted into five star hotels.

Seeing the Palace from outside is FREE. Every summer they arrange a special show inside the palace and you have to buy an expensive ticket just to see that one hall.

The word GHAM in Buckin ‘gham’ is a Sanskrit word ‘Grama’ (village). Hundreds of places in Britain have this suffix. So do Borough or Burg is a Sanskrit word  that is derived from Pura, Pur, Puri, i.e. place with a fort or protected wall is.

Before the corona virus attack, a small part of the palace was opened to the public where some royal items were on display. It is a ticketed show. And in summer queen or king used to give a dinner to prominent citizens of London. 1000 people will be invited for the dinner in rotation.
