I have written 20 to 30 articles on sea, naval attack, commercial contacts , Asvin Deva’s adventure sea, ancient Tsunami attack in Dwaraka and Southern Tamil Nadu.

I have also covered the following ancient discoveries of Hindus:

1.Oldest and greatest Civil Engineer Bhageeratha’s diversion of River Ganga into the modern Gangetic Plains to pour into Bay of Bengal. Because of his great success, Bhageeratha Prayatna has become a phrase among Hindus

2.The submarine mountains and submarine volcanoes (Badavagni or Vadamukagni) are clearly described in Hindu literature

3. The greatest discovery is ‘sea never crosses its boundary’ in spite of thousands of rivers pouring down billions of gallons of water every second. This state ment of ‘sea never overflowing’ is in Rig Veda which is repeated by Parana in Sangam Tamil literature. To make such a statement the Rig Vedic seers must have watched the earth from space like Yuri Gagarin or have gone round the world several times like Colombus or Captain Cook. 

2.Another cliché used by both Sanskrit and Tamil writers is ‘Sea Girt Earth’. Whenever they sang about earth, they always used ‘earth surrounded by sea water’. Hindus already knew that three fourths of the earth is covered by sea. For this also they must have known the geography of the whole earth.

New Discovery of Tamils

Tamils have repeated whatever said in the older Sanskrit literature but added one more discovery.

What is it?

Tamils have a special word for sea MUNNEER. It means Three Waters. i.e. sea is a mixture of three types of water. I have not found this word in Sanskrit though Sanskrit literature has got more words for sea and water. It has been used by Sangam poets in over 30 places. That shows its importance. Ancient Tamils were surrounded by sea on three sides 2000 years ago. So there is no wonder in their discovery.

There are two interpretations for this word Munneer.

The most famous Tamil commentator Nachinarkiniar says that the sea water is responsible for Creation , Preservation and Destruction. Hindus have attributed these three tasks to three Gods Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. Nachinarkiniar must be a scientist because now we know the life began in sea and sea water evaporation produces rain for agriculture and the end of the world will happen by Tsunami attack. Hindus believe in cyclical deluge (dissolution)

The other explanation has also got some scientific truth; it says sea is called Three Waters= Munneer because it receives River Water, Water from top/Rain Water and Spring Water. Some scholars rejected this saying River water and Rain water are one and the same. But I view it differently. Water from top is not river water. Since the earth is covered by water in three fourths of its surface, the rain received directly from ‘up above the sky’ is Water from Top. More interesting is Spring water. Only now we know about the submarine hot water springs and special currents with freshwater in the sea. Ancient Tamils knew this and called it Spring water. It cant be springs outside sea because they always merge with river water

Tamils have the following words: Nama neer, Munneer, Velai, Aazi, Kadal etc.

Sanskrit words are in Amarakosha and other books such as Kalidasa.

The words used by Kalidasa for SEA in his works are:

Saagara,Samudra, Arnava, Mahaarnva, Udadhi,

Mahodadhi,Udanvat, Lavanaambhas, Varunaalaya,

Ratnaakara, Amburaasi, Nadiipati, Saritaam pati

There are many other words in later literature.

கடந்த 20, 30 ஆண்டுகளில் கடல், சமுத்திரம் பற்றி 20, 30 கட்டுரைகளை எழுதிவிட்டேன். காளிதாசன் காவியங்களில் வரும் கடல் வணிகம் , திமிங்கிலம் மூச்சுவிடும்போது தண்ணீர் பீச்சி அடிக்கும் காட்சி மற்றும் ரிக்வேதத்தில் சொன்ன கடல் வரம்பு தாண்டாது என்பதை பரணரும் எடுத்தாண்ட செய்தி, மஹா வம்சத்தில் வரும் கடல் பற்றிய செய்திகள் முதலியவற்றைக்  கண்டோம்.

கடல் பற்றிய மேலும் பல செய்திகளை நுணுகி ஆராய்வோம்.

கடல் என்பதற்கு தமிழர் பயன்படுத்திய சொற்கள் ::-

आपूर्यमाणमचलप्रतिष्ठं समुद्रमापः प्रविशन्ति यद्वत्।

ஆபூர்யமாணமசலப்ரதிஷ்ட²ம் ஸமுத்³ரமாப: ப்ரவிஸ²ந்தி யத்³வத்|

தத்³வத்காமா யம் ப்ரவிஸ²ந்தி ஸர்வே ஸ ஸா²ந்திமாப்நோதி ந காமகாமீ ||2-70||

யத்³வத் = எவ்விதம்

ஆப: ப்ரவிஸ²ந்தி = நீர்த் தொகுதிகள் வந்து விழுகையில்

ஆபூர்யமாணம் அசலப்ரதிஷ்ட²ம் ஸமுத்³ரம் = நிறைந்து இருந்து அசையா நிலைகொண்டிருக்கும் கடல்

தத்³வத் = அதே விதமாக

யம் காமா: ப்ரவிஸ²ந்தி = எவன் விருப்பங்கள் தன்னுள்ளே புகும்போது (கடலைப் போல இருக்கிறானோ)

ஸ ஸா²ந்திம் ஆப்நோதி = அவன் சாந்தியடைகிறான்

காமகாமீ ந = விருப்பங்களை விரும்புவோன் அதனை அடையான்

आपूर्यमाणमचलप्रतिष्ठं
समुद्रमाप: प्रविशन्ति यद्वत् |
तद्वत्कामा यं प्रविशन्ति सर्वे
स शान्तिमाप्नोति न कामकामी || 70||

āpūryamāṇam achala-pratiṣhṭhaṁ
samudram āpaḥ praviśhanti yadvat
tadvat kāmā yaṁ praviśhanti sarve
sa śhāntim āpnoti na kāma-kāmī

கடலில் எவ்வளவோ நதிகள் விழுகின்றன உலகிலேயே வேகமான அமேசான், உலகிலேயே நீளமான நைல், உலகிலேயே புனிதமான கங்கை முதலிய பல்லாயிரம் நதிகள் வந்து  விழுந்தபோதும் கடல் நிரம்பிப்போய் கரை கடந்து வருவதில்லை. அத்தனையையும் வாங்கிக்கொண்டு அமைதியாக பூரணமாக , நிலை குலையாமல் அமைதியாக இருக்கிறது. இப்படி ஆசைகள் அனைத்தும் கடலில் சங்கமம் ஆவது போல ஒரு யோகியும் இருப்பான்.

உலகில் இந்துக்களே கடலாதிக்கம் செலுத்தியவர்கள் என்பதற்கு இரண்டு விஷயங்கள் மீண்டும் மீண்டும் சம்ஸ்க்ருத, தமிழ் இலக்கியங்களில் வருகிறது. உலகில் பழங்கால இலக்கியம் எதிலும் இந்த உண்மைகள் இல்லை;

1.ஆழி சூழ் உலகம்; கடல் மூன்று பகுதி; நிலம் ஒரே பகுதிதான். இதைக் கண்டுபிடித்தவர்கள் இந்துக்கள்.

இதனால் உலகம் பற்றிச் சொல்லும் போது எல்லாம் ஆழி சூழ் உலகம் என்ற கருத்தை முன்வைப்பர் .

2. எவ்வளவு ஆயிரம் நதிகள் விழுந்தாலும் கடல் நிரம்பி வழியாது. இதை ரிக்வேதமும் அதற்குச் சில ஆயிரம் ஆண்டுகளுக்குப் பின்னர் வந்த பரணரும் செப்புவதில் இருந்து இந்துக்களுக்கு பிரம்மாண்ட பூகோள அறிவும் வரலாற்று அறிவும் இருந்ததைக் காட்டுகிறது. இந்த உண்மையைக் கண்டு பிடிக்க கொலம்பஸ், கேப்டன் குக் ஆகியோருக்கு முன் அவர்கள் உலகை வலம் வந்திருக்க வேண்டும்; அல்லது யூரி ககாரின் போல வானத்திலிருந்து கண்டிருக்க வேண்டும். அதையும் பல நூறு ஆண்டுகளுக்கு கவனித்து வாய்மொழி மூலமாக சொல்லியிருந்தால்தான் வேறு ஒருவர் அதைக் கவிதையாக தந்திருக்க முடியும் .

தமிழர்கள் வேறு ஒரு உண்மையைச் சொல்கின்றனர் ; ஸம்ஸ்க்ருதத்தில் மட்டும் சகரர் கதை உள்ளது ; அதன் மூலம் பகீரதன் என்ற மாபெரும் சிவில் என்ஜினீயர் கங்கை நதியைத்  திசை திருப்பி வங்காள விரிகுடாவில் விழச் செய்த்ததை அறிகிறோம். தமிழர்கள் கடலுக்கு அடியில் உள்ள ஊற்றுக்களையும் கண்டுபிடித்துள்ளனர் முந்நீர் என்று கடலை , தமிழ் இலக்கியங்கள் வருணிக்கின்றன .

முந்நீர் = மூன்று வாகையான நீர் என்பதற்கு இரண்டு விளக்கங்களை உரைகாரர்கள் தருகின்றனர். இந்தச் சொல் தொல்காப்பியம் முதல் சங்க இலக்கியம் வரை சுமார் 35 இடங்களில் வருகிறது

நிலத்தைப் படைத்தல், காத்தல், அழித்தல் என்ற மூன்று தொழில்கள் உடையது. இது மாபெரும் விஞ்ஞான உண்மை; கடலிலிருந்துதான் உயிரினங்கள் தோன்றின என்ற மாபெரும் உண்மையும் அதுவே மழையாக மாறி உலகைப் பாதுகாப்பதும் அதுவே ஊழிக்காலத்தில் சுனாமியாக TSUNAMI மாறி உலகத்தை அழிப்பதையும் சம்ஸ்க்ருத மற்றும் சங்கத் தமிழ் நூல்கள் நெடுகிலும் காணலாம். ஆனால் தமிழன் போல முந்நீர் என்ற சொல்லை நான் இதுவரை சம்ஸ்க்ருதத்தில் காணவில்லை

உச்சிமேற் புலவர் கொள் நச்சினாற்கு இனியர் (மதுரை நகர பாரத்வாஜ கோத்ர பார்ப்பனன்) இந்த  விஞ்ஞான விளக்கம் சொல்கிறார் .

வேறு ஒரு விளக்கமும் உள்ளது ஆற்று நீர், ஊற்று நீர், மேல் நீர் (மழை) ஆகிய மூன்றும் சேர்க்கும் நீர் என்பது அந்த விளக்கம் ; இதற்கு ஆட்சேபனையும் சொல்லி நிராகரித்த செய்தியும் உரையில் உள்ளது. ஆனால் இது சரியே என்பது தற்காலத்தில் நிரூபிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. அதாவது ஆற்று நீர் தவிர, கடலில் பெய்யும் மழையை மேல் நீர் என்றும், கடலுக்கு அடியில் தற்காலத்தில் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்ட நன்னீர், வெப்ப நீர் (SUB MARINE HOT SPRINGS, PURE WATER UNDREGROUND CURRENTS ஊற்றுக்களை ஊற்று நீர் என்றும் கொண்டால் தமிழர்தம் மாபெரும் அறிவு வெட்ட வெளிச்சத்துக்கு வருகிறது.

ஊற்று நீர் (SUB MARINE SPRINGS)  பற்றி தற்கால என்சைக்ளோ பீடியாக்களில் மட்டுமே காண்கிறோம். இதையும் கடலடி எரிமலைகளையும் (SUB MARINE VOLCANOES) வடமுகாக்கினி, படவாக்கினி , குதிரை முகத்தீ) தமிழ் சம்ஸ்க்ருத நூல்கள் வருணிப்பதால் கடல் பற்றிய ஆழந்த அறிவை எவரும் மறுக்க முடியாது .

A very Cold Winter

It was an Autumn, and the Red Indians asked their New Chief if the winter was going to be cold or mild.

Since he was a Red Indian Chief in a modern Society, he couldn’t tell what the weather was going to be.

Nevertheless, to be on the safe side, he replied to his Tribe that the winter was indeed going to be cold and that the members of the village should collect wood to be prepared. But also being a practical leader, after several days he got an idea. He went to the phone booth, called the National Weather Service and asked, ‘Is the coming winter going to be cold?’

‘It looks like this winter is going to be quite cold indeed’, the weather man responded.

So the Chief went back to his people and told them to collect even more wood.

A week later, he called the National Weather Service again.

“is it going to be a very cold winter..?” he asked

‘Yes’, the man at National Weather Service again replied, ‘It’s definitely going to be a very cold winter.’

The Chief again went back to his people and ordered them to collect every scrap of wood they could find.

Two weeks later, he called the National Weather Service again, and asked, ‘Are you absolutely sure that the winter is going to be very cold?’

‘Absolutely’, the Man replied. “It’s going to be one of the coldest winters…”

“How can you be so sure?’- the Chief asked.

The weatherman replied, “The Red Indians are collecting wood like Crazy.”

ஒரு நாள் அக்பர் அரசவையில் அக்பரும் பீர்பாலும் பேசிந்கொண்டிருக்கும்

போது…..

அக்பர் கேட்டார்: பீர்பாலே இந்து மதத்தில் உள்ள கடவுள் திருமால் இருக்கிறாரே அவருக்கு யாரும் சேவகர்களே கிடையாதா ?

பீர்பால் : அரசே அவருக்கு ஆயிர கணக்கான சேவகர்கள் இருக்கிறார்கள் ஏன் கேட்கிறீர்கள்?*

அக்பர் : இல்லை ஒரு சாதாரண யானையின் காலை ஒரு முதலை பிடித்ததற்காகவா உங்கள் திருமால் கருடன் மீது ஏறி சங்கு சக்கரத்துடன் வந்து அந்த யானையை காக்க வேண்டும்? நீர் கூறியது போல் ஆயிரக்கணக்கான சேவகர்கள் இருக்கிறார்களே அவர்களில் யாரவது ஒருவரை அனுப்பி அந்த யானையை காப்பாற்றி யிருக்கலாமே? அதை விட்டு விட்டு அவர் ஏன் வந்து அந்த யானையை காப்பாற்ற வேண்டும்?

இதற்ககு பீர்பால் பதில் ஏதும் கூறாமல் மெளனமாக இருந்தார்.

அதை பார்த்ததும் அக்பருக்கு ஒரு சந்தோஷம். பீர்பாலே பதில் சொல்ல முடியாத அளவுக்கு நாம் கேள்வி கேட்டுவிட்டோம் என்று.

ஒரிரு நாட்கள் சென்றன.

அக்பரும் அவர் குடும்பத்தாரும் அவர்களுடன் பீர்பாலும் சில மெய் காப்பாளர்களும் கங்கை கரையை கடப்பதற்கு படகில் சென்று கொண்டிருந்தனர்.

அக்பரின் மூன்று வயது பேர குழந்தையை கொஞ்சி கொண்டிருந்த பீர்பால் படகு ஆழமான பகுதிக்கு வந்ததும் படகோட்டிக்கும் படகில் வந்த ஒரு வீரனுக்கும் சைகை காட்டிவிட்டு அக்பரின் பேரனை கங்கையில் தூக்கி போட்டுவிட்டார்.

பதறிய அக்பர் உடனே நீரில் குதித்து தன பேரனைக் காப்பாற்ற துணிந்தார்.

அவரோடு சேர்ந்து பீர்பால் சைகை செய்த வீரனும் நீரில் குதித்து அக்பரையும் குழந்தையும் தூக்கி வந்து படகில் சேர்த்தான்.

படகில் பேரனுடன் ஏறிய அக்பர் தன்னை ஆசுவாசப்படுத்தி விட்டு, ‘பீர்பால் என்ன இது, நீயா இப்படி என் பேரனை கொல்ல துணிஞ்ச என்னால நம்பவே முடியலயே, சொல்லும், என்ன காரணத்துக்காக என் பேரனை தண்ணீர்ல தூக்கி போட்டீர், சொல்லும்? என்றார் கோபமாக.

பீர்பால், அமைதியாக ‘உங்களுக்கு திருமாலை பத்தி தெரியனும் என்பதற்காக அப்படி செஞ்சேன் அரசே’, என்றார்

அக்பர் : பீ’ர்பாலே என்ன விளையாடுறியா நீ என் பேரனை தூக்கி தண்ணீர்ல போட்டதுக்கும் உமது திருமாலை நான் தெரியுறதுக்கும் என்ன சம்மந்தம்?’

பீர்பால் : அரசே மன்னித்துக்கொள்க, நீங்க அன்று ஒரு நாள் உங்கள் கடவுள் திருமாலுக்கு சேவகர்களே இல்லையா அவர்தான் வந்து யானையை காப்பாற்றணுமான்னு கேட்டிங்களே ஞாபகம் இருக்கா உங்களுக்கு?*

அக்பர் : ஆமாம் அதுக்கும் இன்று நீ என் பேரனை தூக்கி தண்ணீர்ல போட்டதுக்கும் என்ன சம்மந்தம்?

பீர்பால் : அரசே கொஞ்சம் யோசித்து பாருங்கள். என்னையும் சேர்த்து இந்த படகில் உங்களுக்கு 10 சேவகர்கள் இருக்கிறார்கள் ஆனால் இவர்கள் யாருக்கும் நீங்கள் உத்தரவு பிறப்பிக்காமல் நீங்களே உங்கள் பேரனை காப்பற்ற தண்ணீரில் குதித்து விட்டீர்கள் ஏன் அரசே?

எங்களை நீங்கள் நம்பவில்லையா?’ என்று கேட்டார்.

அக்பர் கொஞ்சம் கோபம் தணிந்து, ‘அப்படி இல்லை பீர்பால் என் பேரன் மேல் அளவு கடந்த பாசம் வச்சுருக்கேன்னு உனக்கு தெரியும். நீர் திடிர்னு தண்ணீர்ல அவனை தூக்கி போட்டதால் எனக்கு அவனை காப்பற்ற வேண்டும் என்கிற எண்ணம் தான் மேலோங்கி இருந்ததே தவிர உங்களுக்கு உத்தரவிட்டு அவனை காப்பாற்ற சொல்லும் அளவுக்கு எனக்கு பொறுமை இல்லாமல் நானே குதித்து அவனை காப்பாற்றினேன்’ என்றார்

பீர்பால் புன்னகையுடன், ‘அரசே இந்த நாட்டை ஆளும் உங்களுக்கே இவளோ பாசம் இருக்கும் போது அண்ட சராசரங்களையும் ஆளும் எங்கள் திருமாலுக்கு எவளோ பாசம் இருக்கும் உயிர்கள் மேல்!’ என்றார்.

“அதனால்தான் எத்தனை சேவகர்கள் இருந்தாலும் தன்னை நம்பி அழைப்பவர்களை எங்கள் கடவுள் நேரில் காக்க வருகிறான்.

அரசே இப்பொழுது புரிந்ததா திருமால் ஏன் நேரில் வந்து யானையை காப்பாற்றினார் என்று?”

நான் நீரில் வீசிய உங்கள் பேரனை காப்பாற்ற இங்குள்ள ஒரு வீரனிடமும் படகோட்டியிடமும் நான் முன்னமே சொல்லி வைத்திருந்தேன். தவறு இருந்தால் மன்னியுங்கள் அரசே என்றார்*

அக்பர், ‘இல்லை பீர்பால் நான் தான் உன்னிடம் மன்னிப்பு கேட்கவேண்டும்.

உங்கள் கடவுளை பற்றி தவறாக எண்ணி இருந்தேன் உங்கள் கடவுள் தாயினும் மேலானவர் என்பதை புரிந்து கொண்டேன்’ என்றார் நெகிழ்ச்சியாக.

ஏற்கனவே பல முறை பலர் உபன்யாசகங்களிலும் கதைகளிலும் சொன்னது போல் அன்புக்கு பண்புக்கு நேர்மைக்கு பகவான் கட்டுண்டவன். கூப்பிட்ட குரலுக்கு யார் மூலமாவது இன்றும் உதவுபவன்.

அதனால் தான் கலியில் “தெய்வம் மனித ரூபேண” என்பர்.

அவனே தாய் தந்தை போல் நமக்கு இருக்கும் போது அவன் அருளாலே எல்லாம் நடக்கிறது, அவனின்றி அனுவும் அசையாது என்று மட்டும் நினைப்போம்

என்றும் எப்போதும் நன்மையே நடக்கும்.

Studying Avestan language is important because it has several similarities with Tamil. I have already shown some similarities like P=V changes and ban on ‘S’ etc. Here is what late Pandit Lachhmi Dhar Kalla says in his book THE HOME OF ARYAS (year 1930):-

The Pre Vedic stage of Aryan language is not represented by any of the known Aryan languages.  Indeed, the Vedic and not the Pre Vedic Aryan language is the Indo European mother tongue, which can account for the growth of various Aryan languages within or without India.

The reconstruction of the Pre Vedic agglutinative Aryan language is the most fascinating type of study which is not yet taken up by philologists, but which deserves our careful attention as it may throw considerable light on the unknown past of the Indo European languages.

Thus the greater purity of the consonantal system of the Vedic language as compared with that of the Avestan creates a presumption in favour of the Vedic Aryans as quite nearer the original home- where they were less disturbed by the alien ethnic influences that destroy the purity of the consonants- than their brethren out in Iran .

Noe the deteriorated system of consonants in the Avesta and compare it with full and pure consonantal system of the Veda :–

1.The Avestan palatal series is incomplete- it possesses only c and j.

2.The Vedic cerebrals are wanting in the Avesta.

3.No aspirates in the Avestan language – their place being taken by the corresponding spirants.

4.The nasals are only in part identical.

5.’L’ is wanting

6.Just as the Prakrits, under influence of alien speech habits, have developed ‘e’ (as in ‘men’) and ‘o’ (as in ‘prop’) , so has the Avestan developed special vowel characteristics such as  epenthesis, prothesis, anaptyxis, etc., some of these vowels having acquired place values in the European languages.

7.The Vedic pitch-accent is replaced in the Avesta by strong stress-accent which is shifted to penultimate  as in hunuta for Vedic asunuta. Thus quality of vowels mutilated, note aasis for Vedic aaavh. Variation in accent in Avesta like the variation in consonants is a mark of its later date and origin as compared with the Vedic language.

8.Phonetic decay in the Avestan resembling the Prakrit formation is noticeable not only in a large number of words , such as Sanskrit ‘astha’ , Prakrit ‘se’, Avestan ‘he’; but also in grammatical structure, as among all cases which have ‘Bha’ endings. Later grammatical formations as Sanskrit ablative ‘aath’ for the Vedic ‘as’, take place in the Avesta.

Thus the primitive Vedic language serves as a model to the Avestan.

My comments

In point 1, Mr Kalla has listed c and j; but as far as I know ‘J’ is not found in any ancient language except Sanskrit. My research shows that the Migration of letter ‘J’ shows the route of Vedic Hindus around the world. J is found in very few words in ancient languages and that too pronounced like ‘Y’.

Any linguistic change shown by linguists around the word to prove their stupid hypothesis or theories can be exploded by examples from Tamil and Sanskrit.

Comparing non- contemporary languages and inventing or constructing imaginary proto languages are good jokes.

My friend Sathur Sekaran who came for BBC interview (by me) in Tamil Service 30 years ago wrote 140 books/booklets comparing all languages in the world with Tamil. He derived 140 languages from Tamil by reconstructing Proto Tamil.

My argument is that Sanskrit and Tamil gave birth to all ancient languages. Any old word can be traced back to Sanskrit or Tamil. If you make a table with Sanskrit, Tamil, Persian, Latin and Greek and Slav you can see the words branch out in Tamil way or Sanskrit way. I have already shown it in Number One and Number Eight as one example.

Last but not least internal changes in Tamil and Sanskrit must be taken into account. Without any outside influence, languages can change. Tamils around the world write the same word with different spellings and pronounce them differently. Above all, we don’t know how the ancient people pronounced them. Tamil in inscriptions and literature show this vast difference. Even now London Tamil temple boards have Thurkai for Durga. Even now Sri Lankan Tamils write Crickerr in Tamil and pronounce it Cricket. Even today my friend has an organisation called Vimbam for Sanskrit Bimba. Even now Sangam Literature is written as Cankam. Even now parochial Tamil political parties have Sanskrit words Dravida, Avai (sabha) etc. thinking that they are Tamil words!

What Sanjana says about the Avestan language:-

Rastamji Edulji Dastoor Peshotan Sanjana says the following about the language of the Gathas in his book ‘Zarathustra and Zarathustrianism in the Avesta’, year 1906:

The dialect in which the Gathas, the Zarathustrian psalms are written, notably differs from the language of the rest of the Avesta and presents an intrinsic proof of earlier origin. The Gathic dialect differs in sound as well as in grammar from the other parts of the Avesta. In the former the final vowels are almost always lengthened; but not so in the latter. In the Gathas we find more full and complete grammatical forms; whereas in the Avesta of the latter times the language seems to be in its decline; and some corruptions and confusions are distinctly noticeable in it. The Gathas as we have as already remarked are composed in verses. There are in all seventeen sections comprising 238 strophes of three to five lines each.

My comments

So even within Zend Avesta we see lot of differences in the language used. We see different Prakrits in India which developed into modern North Indian languages. In Tamil language we don’t see past, present, future tenses 2000 years ago. The language and grammar, the borrowed Brahmi script, everything changed. It is a natural process found in all the languages. Change is inevitable in all the fields. It may be due to natural development or other external influences.

Within a small area of Nagaland in India, New Guinea in the Pacific, Australian aborigines we see hundreds of languages ;none understands the other language speaker. Linguists are puzzled. Same dog’s barking is written and heard by different language speakers differently.

 Beowulf of earlier English is difficult to understand by us. Tamil and Sanskrit are very old compared to English. If we could see that much changes in English we must be ready to see more in Indian languages.

‘A’ is pronounced differently in mate, mat, mall, machine, Harry potter, hair etc

We don’t know how they pronounced these words in old times. In short, we can challenge all theories put forth by the linguists .

Wife: Can I cut my hair and make it short?

Husband: Cut it.

W: I took lot of efforts to grow it long.

H: Then don’t cut it

W: They say short hair is the fashion these days.

H: Then cut it

W: What if the fashion changes after I cut?

H: Then don’t cut it

W: All my friends say that I will look beautiful with a short hair.

H: Then cut it

W: But I doubt whether short hair will suit my small face.

H: Then don’t cut it

W: But short hair is very easy to manage.

H: Then cut it.

W: But how can I wear flowers in my hair. I love to wear flowers.

H: Then don’t cut it

W: I think there is nothing wrong in trying once.

H: Then cut it.

W: But it may take a long time to grow hair again.

H: Then don’t cut it.

W: Still I feel like giving it a try once.

H: Then cut it.

W: If I look ugly after cutting my hair.

H: Then don’t cut it.

The husband is undergoing treatment in a mental hospital presently.

He doesn’t speak anything except two sentences.” Then cut it and then don’t cut it.”

The doctors wonder what is to be cut.

They are conducting all tests.

They also intend getting expert advice from Doctors abroad!

A woman went shopping. At Cash counter she opened her purse to pay. The Cashier noticed a TV remote in her purse. H could n’t control his curiosity and asked, “Do you always carry your TV remote  with you?”

She replied, “No, not always, but my husband refused to accompany me for shopping today…”

Moral : Accompany Wife.

The shop keeper laughs and takes back all the items that lady had purchased.

Shocked at this act, she asks the shopkeeper what is he doing.

He said, “Your husband has blocked your credit card…”

Moral : Respect the hobbies of your husband.

After swiping, the machine indicated, “Enter OTP sent to your Mobile’

Moral ; When Man tends to lose, machine is smart enough to save him.

When she turned back with depression, her mobile ringed showing forwarded SMS, “your OTP is ….”

Finally she bought her items and returned back happily.

Moral : What are you thinking about Men? He always sacrifices himself for his wife.

ஒரு ரூபாய் நோட்டு!

1917ஆம் ஆண்டு நடந்த நிகழ்ச்சி இது.

கொல்கத்தாவில் அவதரித்த பெரும் மகானான உபேந்த்ர மோஹன் அவர்கள் பிரிட்டிஷ் அரசாங்கத்தில் மைமென்ஸிங் என்ற இடத்தில் டெபுடி மாஜிஸ்ட்ரேட்டாக வேலை பார்த்து வந்தார்.

அப்போது பிரிட்டிஷ் அரசு ஒரு ரூபாய் நோட்டை அறிமுகப்படுத்தியது.

பேப்பரில் ஒரு நாணயமா?

இந்திய மக்களுக்கு அது கசந்தது.

இன்று எங்கு பார்த்தாலும் பேப்பர் நோட்டுகள் இருக்கும் காலத்தில் பேப்பர் நோட்டை இந்திய மக்கள் வெறுத்தார்கள் என்பது ஒரு ஆச்சரியமான செய்தியாக இருக்கும்.

ஆனால் அந்தக் காலத்தில் பிரிட்டிஷார் மீது மக்களுக்கு சந்தேகமும் வெறுப்பும் ஏற்பட்டது.

ஒரு ரூபாய் நாணயங்களை அனைவரும் 1.4 மடங்கோ அல்லது 1.8 மடங்கோ அதிகமாகக் கொடுத்து வாங்க முற்பட்டனர்.

பிரிட்டிஷ் அரசு தவித்தது.

இராக் என்று இன்று அழைக்கப்படும் மெஸபடோமியாவில் நடக்கும் போரில் பிரிட்டிஷ் அரசு பெரிய தோல்வியைத் தழுவப் போகிறது என அனைவரும் நம்பினர்.

அப்படி மெஸபடோமியாவில் அது தோல்வியுற்றால் இந்தியாவை விட்டு அவர்கள் ஓடும் நாட்கள் வெகு தூரத்தில் இல்லை என்பதும் மக்களின் நம்பிக்கையாக இருந்தது.

இந்த சமயத்தில் லார்ட் ரொனால்ட்ஸே (Lord Ronaldsay) வங்காள கவர்னராக இருந்தார்.

அவர் ஒரு நாள் உபேந்த்ரமோஹன்ஜி வேலை பார்த்து வந்த மைமென்ஸிங்கிற்கு வந்தார்.

மரியாதை நிமித்தம் உபேந்த்ரமோஹன்ஜியும் இதர அரசு அதிகாரிகளும் கவர்னரைச் சந்திக்கச் சென்றனர்.

அப்போது இந்த ஒரு ரூபாய் நோட்டு பற்றிய பேச்சு எழுந்தது.

உபேந்த்ரமோஹன்ஜி மிக தைரியமாகத் தனது கருத்தைத் தெரிவித்தார் : “ மக்கள் இந்த ஒரு ரூபாய் நோட்டை அரசு வெளியிட்டதன் காரணமே வெள்ளி முழுவதையும் சுரண்டி எடுத்துச் சென்று விட்டு, வெறும் பேப்பர் கரன்ஸியை மட்டும் இந்தியாவில் விட்டு விடப் போகிறார்கள் என சந்தேகப்படுகிறார்கள்.”

பிரிட்டிஷ் அரசு நிச்சயமாக இந்தியாவை விட்டு வெளியேறப் போகிறது என்பதை அனைவரும் அறிந்திருந்தாலும் அதைத் தைரியமாகச் சொல்ல யாரும் முன்வருவதில்லை.

அதுவும் அரசு அதிகாரிகளோ நிச்சயமாக அதைச் சொல்லப் பயப்பட்டனர்.

ஆனால் உபேந்த்ரமோஹன் அவர்களோ அதை இப்படி தைரியமாக கவர்னரிடமே சொல்லி விட்டார்.

இதைக் கேட்ட லார்ட் ரொனால்ட்ஸே திகைத்துப் போனார்.

ஆனால் உடனே சமாளித்தவாறே, “ அந்தப் பணம் எங்கே போகப் போகிறதாம்?” என்று கேட்டு விட்டு அதற்குத் தானே பதிலையும் சொன்னார் : “மெஸபடோமியாவிற்கு என்று நான் நினைக்கிறேன்”

மேலும் அவர் தொடர்ந்தார்: “ அங்குள்ள போர்வீரர்களுக்கு!”

அனைவரும் பிரமித்துப் போயினர் – கவர்னரே இப்படிச் சொல்வதைக் கேட்டு!

பிரிட்டிஷ் அரசு சுரண்டிச் சென்ற வெள்ளி சொல்ல முடியாத அளவு அதிகம்! அந்தக் காலத்தில் வெள்ளி நாணயங்கள் புழக்கத்தில் இருந்தன. ஆகவே ஒரு ரூபாய் நோட்டு பேப்பராக வந்தவுடன் மக்களுக்குச் சந்தேகம் ஏற்பட்டதில் வியப்பே இல்லை.

முர்ஷிதாபாத்தில் பாகீரதி நதிக் கரை முழுவதும் முகலாயர் காலத்திலிருந்தே தாமிரத் தகடுகளால் நிரம்பி இருந்ததையும் அடுக்கு அடுக்காக அடுக்கி வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த அந்த தாமிரத்தை ஈஸ்ட் இந்தியா கம்பெனி கபளீகரம் செய்ததையும் அனவரும் அறிவர்.

இப்படி பிரிட்டிஷார் அடித்த கொள்ளைகள் ஏராளம்.

இவற்றை எந்த வரலாற்றுப் புத்தகமும் சொல்வதில்லை. மெக்காலே கல்வித் திட்டம் வெகு கவனமாக இந்திய சரித்திரத்தைத் தனக்குச் சாதகமாக கிறிஸ்தவ மயமாக்கும் திட்டத்தின் அடிப்படையில் வகுத்தது.

இன்று நாம் படிக்கும் இந்திய சரித்திரத்தில் ஏராளமான பொய்கள் உள்ளன; ஏராளமான சரித்திர உண்மைகளும் அவர்கள் அடித்த கொள்ளையும் இடம் பெறவே இல்லை.

இப்போதாவது இந்திய மக்கள் விழித்தெழ வேண்டும்; உண்மையான புதிய இந்திய சரித்திரத்தை எழுத வேண்டும்.
