During our trip to Portsmouth, a key international gateway, situated on England’s south coast, we walked around the Portchester castle. It is an impressive and well preserved Roman ‘Saxon Shore’ fort. The city has got hundreds of attractions, water sports and cruising and hovercraft riding. Isle of Wight , which can be reached by ferries and hovercraft, has its own attractions . during our trip there were music festivals in both Portsmouth and Ise of Wight. So the city was full of tourists.
We also visited a 250 year old windmill where one guy called Gary explained what happened 250 years ago. It was a half hour interesting running commentary. They ground wheat at the speed of one bag every 20 minutes with wind power. It was done in three 3 varieties, fine, coarse and medium flours. They have got huge grinding stones. We went to the top through narrow wooden steps. Unfortunately, the rotor blades of the windmill were damaged, and they are reconstructing them. Nearby was the barn to store the grains.
