Even today musicians use Thisra gathi ( 3 beats)

Panini deals with number four Chatur

We use Chathuram in Tamil where the four squares are equal.

In every city we have Chathukkam (for Square in big cities)

நாற்பக்கம் சமம் = சதுரம் ; நகரங்களில் சதுக்கம்

Ashta for number eight.

Ashta becomes Ettu in Tamil and Eight in English

Ashta becomes Octo in Latin and Greek

Tamil and English derive it in the same way.

அஷ்ட = எட்டு; ஆங்கிலத்தில் ‘எயிட்’

அஷ்ட- லத்தின் , கிரேக்க மொழியில் அக்ட = அக் டோபர் = எட்டாம் மாதம் ; கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் காலண்டரை மாற்றியதால் அது இப்போது பத்தாம் மாதமாகிவிட்டது

வந்த் = வந்தனம் = வணங் = வணங்கு = வணக்கம்

வ்ரு = தேர்ந்தெடு – வரன் = வாரிசு

Vanth – bow; it becomes Vanangu in tamil

Vru – select; it becomes Ward in English and Varan (bridegroom in Marriage)

வந்த் = வந்தனம் = வணங் = வணங்கு = வணக்கம்

வ்ரு = தேர்ந்தெடு – வரன் = வாரிசு

Venu – bamboo

Venu Gaanam (flute made up of bamboo) is in Tamil and Sanskrit songs.

Venu might have become bamboo; but we need more evidence.

In Latin it is vermentum and in Greek it is bampou

So, there are missing links

வேணு = மூங்கில் = மூங்கிலினால் ஆன புல்லாங்குழல் வேணு கானம்

Panini gives oft used words in this sutra:

Thyaaga, raaga, haasa, guha, svata

Thyaaka – sacrifice, one who becomes a martyr by sacrificing something; we have lot of

Thyagees in india .

Raaga – love; it is in film songs even in tamil

Haasa – haasyam/laughter

Guh – cave, that which is hidden; here it is used for a cheat/ secretive fellow

Swat – in tamil we use savataal for humbug; empty talk; tall talk

தியாக – துறவு; துறத்தல்; தியாகம் செய்தல்; சுதந்திரப் போராட்ட தியாகி .

ராக – காதல் (ப்ருந்தாவனமும் நந்த குமாரனும் – மிஸ்ஸியம்மா பாடல்- ராகத்தில் அநுராகம் மேவினால்

ஹாஸ – மந்த ஹாஸ /புன்னகை; சாருஹாசன்; கமல ஹாசன்; ஹாஸ்யம்/தமாஷ்/ சிரிப்பு

குஹ = மறைவான; ரகசிய பேர்வழி; நேர் வழியற்றவன்; மறைக்கக்கூடிய மோசடிக்காரன்

ஸ்வட் = பேச்சுக்காரன் ; சவடால் பேர்வழி

Vathee examples are given by commentators.

Two amazing things are here—

1.From Vedic days all rivers are feminine and motherly

2.Most of the rivers and several female names end with suffix Vathee

We know the most famous river Sarasvathee.

Here commentators give examples : Rivers Udumbharaavathee, Saraavathee, Ajiravathee, Ahivathee, Muneevathee

From Vedic days until this day we see feminine names end with Vathi or Mathi and Masculine names end with Pathi. I have a strong feeling Indus Script has these endings/suffix

‘வதீ’ என்பது பெண்பால் சொல்; எல்லா நதிகளும் வேதகாலம் முதல் இன்று வரை ‘வதீ’ என்ற சொல்லுடன் முடியும். நிறைய  பெண்களின் பெயர்களும் ‘வதி’ என்றும் ‘மதி’ என்றும் முடியும்; சரஸ்வதி, பார்வதி, இந்து மதி, சந்திரமதி , காந்திமதி .

சரஸ்வதீ நதி எல்லோரும் அறிந்த பெயர்கள்.

ஆண்களின் பெயர்கள் – ‘பதி’ என்று முடியும் – கணபதி, லெட்சுமிபதி , பசுபதி ,பிருஹஸ்பதி, ஜனாதிபதி , ராஷ்ட்ரபதி , கிருஹபதி

சிந்து சமவெளியிலும் பதி, மதி, வதி – இருக்க வேண்டும் என்பது என் துணிபு .

இன்னும் ஒரு உண்மை:-  நதிகள் = பெண்கள் / தாய்மார்கள் ; அவர்களின் கணவன் –கடல் ;

இந்தக் கருத்தும் வேத காலம் முதல் இன்று வரை தமிழ், சம்ஸ்க்ருத நூல்களில் உளது.

உரைகாரர்கள் கொடுக்கும் நதிகளின் பெயர்கள் அனைத்தும் ‘வதீ’ என்றே முடிவடைகின்றன .

It is used in most of the Indian languages.

In Tamil it become Varna or Vanna
