Tamils use many verbs often which end with the sound or suffix PADU and they are all conjugated in the same way. It is classified as Fourth Class verb in the Seven Verb classification of Tamil Language.
கவலைப்படு = Kavalai= worry (noun)
Kavalaip padu (verb)= worrying
வெட்கப்படு = Vetkam = shyness, shame (noun)
Vetkap padu (verb) = feel ashamed, feeling shy
சந்தோஷப்படு = Santhosham= Happiness (noun)
It is a Sanskrit word, commonly used by the Tamils
Santhoshap padu (verb)= feel happy, becoming happy
வருத்தப்படு = Varuththam = Sorrow, Grief
Varuththap padu (verb) = feel sorry, regret
கோபப்படு = Kobap padu= angry about…….கோபம் = Anger
ஆசைப்படு = Aasaip padu= desiring or wishing, wanting ஆசை = Desire
Once you one conjugation of the above you can use a lot other similar verbs in the same way. We have already seen Saappidu (eat). These PADU verbs are in the same class. Look at the charts below:
