சிவகிரி அருகே கோவில் பூஜையில் வைக்கப்பட்ட ஒரு எலுமிச்சை பழம் ரூ.35,000-க்கு ஏலம் போனது. ஈரோடு, ஈரோடு மாவட்டம் சிவகிரி அருகே உள்ள சிவன் கோவிலில் சிவராத்திரியை முன்னிட்டு கடந்த வெள்ளிக்கிழமை சிறப்பு வழிபாடு நடந்தது. இதில் அந்த பகுதியைச் சேர்ந்த ஏராளமான பக்தர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டு சாமி தரிசனம் செய்தன
இதைத் தொடர்ந்து பூஜையில் வைக்கப்பட்ட எலுமிச்சை உள்ளிட்ட பழங்கள் மற்றும் பூஜை பொருட்கள் ஆகியவை ஏலம் விடப்பட்டன. இவற்றை ஏராளமான பக்தர்கள் போட்டி போட்டு ஏலத்தில் எடுத்துச் சென்றனர்.
பூஜையில் வைக்கப்பட்ட ஒரு எலுமிச்சை பழத்தை கோவில் நிர்வாகத்தினர் ஏலம் விட்டனர். அந்த பழத்தை பக்தர் ஒருவர் ரூ.35,000-க்கு ஏலத்தில் எடுத்தார். அவருக்கு அந்த பழத்தை கோவில் நிர்வாகத்தினர் வழங்கினர். பூஜையில் வைக்கப்பட்ட எலுமிச்சை பழத்தை ஏலத்தில் எடுப்பவருக்கு செல்வமும், ஆரோக்கியமும் என்பது பக்தர்களின் நம்பிக்கையாக உள்ளது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
In a unique tradition observed during the Mahasivarathiri festivities at the Pazhapoosaian temple near Sivagiri village, a single lemon became the centre of attention as it fetched an impressive Rs 35,000 in an auction. The private temple, located 35 km from the village, saw as many as 15 devotees participating in the auction, where not only lemons but also other items, including fruits, offered to Lord Shiva were sold.
The auction took place as part of the customary practices during the Mahasivarathiri celebrations on Friday night. The lemon, symbolic of the offerings made to the deity, gained significant value during the bidding process. Ultimately, a devotee from Erode secured the lemon with the highest bid of Rs 35,000, according to the temple authorities.
This unique tradition is rooted in the belief that the person who manages to secure the lemon through the highest bid will be bestowed with blessings of riches and good health for years to come.

Lemon unexpectedly discovered in back of drawer of 19th-century cabinet

A 285-year-old lemon, found in an antique cabinet, was auctioned for £1,416 in the UK. In Indian Rs.141600
According to Brettells Auctions in Shropshire, the lemon was unexpectedly found inside a 19th-century cabinet which was being photographed for sale.
The cabinet was brought in by a family claiming it belonged to a deceased uncle.
The lemon was inscribed with these words: “Given By Mr P Lu Franchini Nov 4 1739 to Miss E Baxter.”
The auction house decided to sell the 285-year-old lemon.
“We thought we’d have a bit of fun and put it (lemon) in the auction with an estimate of £40-£60,” said auctioneer David Brettell.
They were up for a pleasant surprise when it fetched £1,416 at an auction.
On the other hand, the 19th-century cabinet sold for about £32.
According to the Sun, the cabinet is thought to have been brought back to England from colonial India as a romantic gift.
There are several examples in history of ordinary items fetching exorbitant prices in an auction. For example, in 2000, an eBay auction featured a piece of Justin Timberlake’s half-eaten French toast at a New York radio station, fetching over £785.
Another woman sold a piece of bubble gum that Britney Spears had chewed and spat out at a concert at Wembley Arena in 2000. The winning bid was about £10,000.

तमिलनाडु में एक नींबू ₹35 हजार में नीलाम:महाशिवरात्रि पर मंदिर में चढ़ा था; पुजारी बोले- यह पैसा और अच्छी सेहत देगा
तमिलनाडु के इरोड से 35 किमी दूर शिवगिरी गांव के एक मंदिर में चढ़ा नींबू 35 हजार रुपए में नीलाम हुआ। यह नींबू पझापूसियन मंदिर में शुक्रवार (8 मार्च) की रात मनाए गए महाशिवरात्रि उत्सव के दौरान भगवान शिव को चढ़ा था। नींबू के अलावा भगवान को चढ़ाए गए फलों और बाकी चीजों की नीलामी भी की गई।
मंदिर के अधिकारियों ने कहा कि यह मंदिर में चली आ रही सालों पुरानी परंपरा है। इस बार की नीलामी में 15 भक्तों ने हिस्सा लिया। नीलामी के बाद इरोड के एक भक्त ने यह नींबू 35 हजार रुपए में खरीदा।
हालांकि यह पहला मौका नहीं है, इससे पहले भी ऐसी ही नीलामी हो चुकी है। 2019 में विल्लुपुरम के पास रथिनावेल मुरुगन मंदिर में 9 नींबू 1.03 लाख रुपए में बेचे गए थे।
क्यों खास था यह नींबू
पझापूसियन मंदिर के पुजारी ने नीलाम किए गए नींबू को भगवान शिव के सामने रखा था। इसके बाद एक छोटी सी पूजा की थी। इसके बाद भक्तों की मौजूदगी में इसे उस व्यक्ति को लौटा दिया जिसने नीलामी में सबसे अधिक बोली लगाई थी।
ऐसा माना जाता है कि जो व्यक्ति सबसे ऊंची बोली लगाने में सफल होता है और नींबू प्राप्त करता है, उसे आने वाले सालों में धन और अच्छे सेहत का आशीर्वाद मिलता है।
तिरुवनैनल्लूर में भी होती है नींबू की नीलामी
तिरुवनैनल्लूर के बालथंडायुथपानी मंदिर में इष्टदेव मुरुगा के भाले पर कील लगे नींबू की नीलामी करने की प्रथा है। त्योहार के पहले 9 दिनों के दौरान हर दिन एक नींबू पर कील लगाई जाती है। इसके बाद आखिरी दिन इनकी बोली लगती है। 2016 में इस मंदिर में पहले दिन के नींबू की कीमत 39 हजार रुपए थी।
बनारस में नींबू के दाम कम करने हुई थी तंत्र पूजा
2022 में नींबू के दाम में कमी लाने के लिए वाराणसी के देवी मंदिर में तंत्र पूजा की गई थी। यह पूजा भगत सिंह यूथ फ्रंट के अध्यक्ष हरीश मिश्रा ने स्थानीय लोगों के साथ मिलकर की थी। पूजा के लिए सिगरा क्षेत्र में मां आदिशक्ति के मंदिर में नींबू के साथ तंत्र विधान किया गया था। जिस समय यह पूजा की गई थी, उस समय एक नींबू 15 रुपए का बिक रहा था।
