காந்தாரி
திருதராஷ்டிரனின் மனைவி ; இப்போது ஆப்கானிஸ்தானத்தில் காண்டஹார் என்னும் நகரம் உள்ளது. இது காந்தாரம் என்பதன் திரிபு. அந்தப் பகுதியிலிருந்து வந்த இளவரசி என்பதால் அவள் காந்தாரி என்று அழைக்கப்பட்டாள்; துரியோதனன் முதலிய நூற்றுவரின் தாயார். தனது கணவர் பார்வையற்றவர் என்பதால் தானும் தனது கண்களைத் துணியால் கட்டிக்கொண்டு வாழ்நாள் முழுதும் தியாகம் செய்த பெண்மணி ; ஆனால் பொறாமையின் சின்னமாக விளங்கிய தன் மகனைக் கண்டித்துத் திருத்தாத பழிக்கு ஆளானாள்; மகாபாரத யுத்தத்தில் பாண்டவர்கள் வெற்றி பெற்ற பின்னரும் ராஜ மாதா என்று போற்றப்பட்டாள். இறுதியில் திருதராஷ்டிரனும் காந்தாரியும் குந்தியும் கானகத்துக்குச் சென்று வானப்பிரஸ்த வாழ்வு வாழ்ந்தனர். ஒரு நாள் காட்டுத் தீ பரவியபோது அதில் கருகி மாண்டார்கள்.
Gandhari
She is from the area of Kandahar of Afghanistan and so she is called Gandhari. Wife of Dhritarashtran, King of Hastinapuram. Because her husband was blind, Gandhari also blindfolded herself, and sacrificed her entire life. But the jealousy of her sons Duryodhanan and 99 others were the root of the conflict and she did not correct their bad qualities and failed in her motherly duty. At the end of the Mahabharata war, during the rule of Yuthisthira, she was given the Raj Matha (Queen Mother) status. After a long time, herself, Dhritarashtra and Kunti went to forest to spend their life. During a forest fire all of them perished in the wildfire.

குஜராத்திலுள்ள மலைப் பாறைப் பகுதிகள். இந்திய வரலாற்றின் முக்கியமான கல்வெட்டுகள் இந்தப் பாறைகளின் மீது வெவ்வேறு இடங்களில் செதுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. அசோகர் காலம் முதல் சுமார் 700 ஆண்டுக் கல்வெட்டுகள் உள்ள இடம். ஹிந்துமத, சமண மத ஆலயங்கள் உள்ளதால் புனிதத் தலமும் ஆகும்.
The Girnar inscriptions in Junagadh, Gujarat, are a collection of ancient edicts carved on a large boulder, most notably featuring the 14 Edicts of Emperor Ashoka (circa 250 BC) in Brahmi script. These Prakrit inscriptions promote morality, peace, and tolerance, alongside later Sanskrit inscriptions from Rudradaman I (150 AD) and Skandagupta (457 AD) regarding the Sudarshan Lake. A significant pilgrimage site for Jains and Hindus, including the 22nd Tirthankara Neminath temple and Dattatreya temple.

கோவர்த்தன கிரி
கிருஷ்ணன் தூக்கிப்பிடித்த மலை. இந்திரனுக்கு படைப்பதற்காக எடுத்துச் சென்ற உணவினை கிருஷ்ணன் சொற்படி மாடு மேய்க்கும் இடையர்கள் அனைவரும் சாப்பிட்டார்கள். இதனால் கோபம் அடைந்த இந்திரன் ஏழு நாட்களுக்கு கல் மழை பொழிந்தான்; இடையர்களைக் காப்பாற்றுவதற்காக கிருஷ்ணன் மலையையே தூக்கிப்பிடித்து குடையாக ஆக்கி அவர்களைக் காப்பாற்றினான். கிருஷ்ணனுக்கு கிரிதாரி – மலையைத் தாங்கியவன்– என்ற பெயரும் உண்டு.
Govardhana Giri (or Govardhan Hill) is a sacred 8 km sandstone hill in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, revered in Hinduism as a natural form of Lord Krishna. Krishna is called Giridhari. According to legend, child Krishna lifted this hill on his finger for seven days to protect the villagers of Braj from torrential rains caused by Indra’s wrath.

குகன்
முருகனின் ஒரு பெயர்; மனிதர்களின் இதயத்தில் ஒளிந்து கொண்டிருப்பவன் .
ராமாயணத்தில் வரும் குகன் , வேடர் குலத் தலைவன் ; கங்கை நதியைக் கடப்பதற்கு ராம,லெட்சுமணர்களுக்கு உதவியவன்; நால் வராகப் பிறந்த ராம பிரான் குகனுடன் ஐவரானோம் என்று சொல்லி ஜாதி குல இன வேற்றுமையை உடைத்தெறிந்த உலகத்தின் முதல் மனிதன் ஆனான்.
Guha
Guhan means “one who dwells in a cave” or “cave dweller”. It is one of the names of Lord Murugan (also known as Kartikeya or Guha), the Hindu god of war and victory.
Guha is a significant character in the Hindu epic Ramayana, primarily known as the King of Śṛṅgiverapura and a devoted friend and ally to Rama. He plays a crucial role during the beginning of Rama’s 14-year exile.
Guha is described as a dear friend of Rama, described by Valmiki as “atma samas saka,” meaning an equal friend, highlighting a bond that transcended social status.

மாதா பிதா குரு தெய்வம் என்பது இந்துக்களின் பொன்மொழி.
இந்து மதத்தில் ஆசிரியர்கள் குரு என்று அழைக்கப்படுவார்கள் ஆன்மீகத்தில் ஒரு பக்தரை வழி நடத்திச் செல்பவருக்கு குரு என்று பெயர்; இதன் பொருள் கனம் ஆனவர் . எடையில் அல்ல; அறிவில்!
நவக்கிரககங்களில் வியாழன் , பிருஹஸ்பதி என்று சொல்லப்படும் ஜூபிட்டர் JUPITER கிரகத்துக்கும் இதே பெயர்; இந்துக்களுக்கு மற்ற எல்லோரையும் விட அதிக வானியல் அறிவு இருந்ததால் சூரிய மண்டலத்தின் மிகப் பெரிய கிரகத்துக்கு இந்தப் பெயரைச் சூட்டினார்கள்.
விஞ்ஞானிகள் அண்மைக்காலத்தில் கண்டுபிடித்த கவாங் கல் விசையையும் SLING SHOT EFFECT இந்துக்கள் அறிந்து இருந்தனர் குரு எப்படி பக்தரை உயரத்தில் தனது சக்தியால் ஏற்றிவைக்கிறாரோ அதே போல வியாழன் கிரகமும் எரிபொருள் இல்லாமலேயே ஒரு விண்கலத்தை தனது விசையால் மேலே போகச் செய்யும் ஸ்லிங் ஷாட் எபெக்ட் SLING SHOT EFFECT உடையது.

குருகுல வாசம்
வேத காலம் முதல் தற்காலம் வரை வேத பாட சாலைகளில் பின்பற்றப்படும் கல்வி முறை ; மாணவர்கள் ஐந்து வயது முதல் குருவின் வீட்டில் அல்லது ஆஸ்ரமத்தில் குறைந்தது 12 ஆண்டுகள் தங்கி அவரது காலடியில் அமர்ந்து கல்வி அல்லது பிற வித்தைகளைப் பயிலும் ஏற்பாட்டிற்கு குரு குல வாசம் என்று பெயர்; இதன் பொருள் குரு குலத்தில் வசிப்பவர்கள். அப்படி வசிக்கும் காலத்தில் உயர்ந்தோர் வீட்டில் பிச்சை எடுத்து வந்து அந்த உணவினை குருவுடன் பாகிர்ந்து கொள்வதும் உண்டு

குரு தட்சிணை
ஒரு குருவிடம் படித்து முடிந்து பட்டம்/ தகுதி பெற்றவுடன் அவருக்கு தனது சக்திக்கேற்ப மாணவர்கள் வழங்கும் தொகை அல்லது பொருள் அல்லது சேவையை குரு தட்சிணை என்று சொல்வார்கள்; குரு கேட்டதைக் கொடுப்பது அல்லது அவர் இட்ட கட்டளையைப் பின்பற்றுவது பற்றி நிறைய கதைகள் உள்ளன (காண்க- ஏகலவ்யன் கதை )
Guru means Teacher, but given the status equal to god. Guru is Brahma, Vishnu and Siva all rolled into one. Guru is Gu and Ru; Gu is darkness and Ru is remover. Guru means heavy. Hindus named the largest planet Jupiter, Guru. Only now the scientists are using the gravitational power of the Jupiter (Guru), known as sling shot effect to boost the rockets or satellites. But Guru means one who boosts you into orbit of spiritual world with his power. So we have rightly named Jupiter as Guru.

2) Great, large, long, extended.2) Any venerable or respectable person, an elderly personage or relative, the elders (pl.) शुश्रूषस्व गुरून् (śuśrūṣasva gurūn) Ś.4.18; Bhagavadgītā (Bombay) 2.5; Bv.2.7,18,19,49; आज्ञा गुरूणां ह्यविचारणीया (ājñā gurūṇāṃ hyavicāraṇīyā) R. 14.46.
3) A spiritual teacher, preceptor; गुरुशिष्यौ (guruśiṣyau).
Gurukula
A gurukula (or gurukul) is a traditional Indian residential schooling system where students (śiṣyas) live with their teacher (guru), often in the same household, to receive education in academic subjects, ethics, and life skills.
Guru Dakshina
Guru Dakshina is an ancient Indian tradition representing the repayment, gratitude, and respect a student offers to their teacher (guru) upon completing their education. It is considered a sacred offering, not merely a fee. It can be given in cash or kind. Guru can also ask to finish some tasks.

குரு கிரந்த சாஹிப்
சீக்கியர்களின் புனித நூல் ; ஆதிக் கிரந்தம் என்றும் சொல்வர் ; இதில் சீக்கிய குருமார்களின் பாடல்களும் பிற சாது சன்யாசிகளின் பாடல்களும் இருக்கின்றன ‘ஓம்’காரத்தையும் இது போற்றுகிறது ; இந்த நூலினையே சீக்கியர்கள் அமிர்தசரஸ் பொற்கோவிலில் வைத்து வழிபடுகிறார்கள்.

The text consists of 1,430 pages and 5,894 shabads (line compositions), which are poetically rendered and set to a rhythmic ancient north Indian classical form of music. It is worshipped as Guru in the Golden Temple in Amritsar.
The Guru Granth Sahib was composed predominantly by six Sikh gurus. It also contains the traditions and teachings of fourteen Hindu Bhakti movement sants (saints), such as Ramananda, Kabir and Namdev among others, and one Muslim Sufi saint: Sheikh Farid.
கடோத்கசன்
பானைத் தலை போன்ற உருவம் உடைய இராக்கதர் குல வீரன்; மஹாபாரத பீமனுக்கும், இடும்பி என்ற ராக்ஷஸிக்கும் பிறந்தவன் . மகாபாரத யுத்தத்தில் பாண்டவர் தரப்பில் நின்று போரிட்டு உயிரிழந்தான் .
Ghatotkacha is a character in the ancient Indian epic Mahabharata. He was called Ghatotkacha, becaause his head was shaped like a ghatam, or a pot. He is the son of the Pandava Bhima and the rakshasi Hidimbi.
He was an important fighter from the Pandava side in the Kurukshetra War and caused a great deal of destruction to the Kaurava army. Ghatotkacha killed many demons and courted a hero’s death in the great war.

ஆண்டு தோறும் வரும் பெளர்ணமி தினங்களில் மிகவும் முக்கியமானது; பெரும்பாலும் ஜூலை மாதத்தில் வரும்; வியாச பெளர்ணமி என்றும் பெயர். அன்றைய தினம் குருவுக்கு மிக முக்கிய பூஜைகளைச் செய்வார்கள். ஆர் எஸ் எஸ் இயக்கத்தில் முக்கிய பண்டிகை. அன்று பகவத் த்வஜம் என்னும் காவிக்கொடியைக் குருவாகப் பாவித்து காணிக்கை செலுத்துவார்கள். இந்துக்கள் அனைவரும் வேத வியாசரை குருவாக ஏற்பதால் வியாசரையும் அன்று பூஜிப்பார்கள் . பொதுவாக சாதுர்மாஸ்ய விரதம் என்னும் நான்கு மாத விரதத்தை சந்யாசிகள் துவங்கும் நாள்.
Guru Purnima गुरुपूर्णिमा is a religious festival dedicated to offering respect to spiritual and academic gurus. It is celebrated as a festival in India. RSS celebrates it as one of the main festivals on which day, the members offer their contribution. It is observed on the full moon day (Purnima) in the month of Ashadha (June–July) according to the Hindu calendar. It is also known as Vyasa Purnima, because it marks the birthday of Veda Vyasa, the author of the Mahabharata and compiler of the Vedas. The Chaturmasya Vrata begins on this day.
