At the Vaishvik Hindu Rashtra Mahotsav 2024, Sadguru Dr. Charudatta Pingale, National Guide of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, delivered an impassioned speech emphasizing the importance of unity and coordinated efforts among Hindus globally. The event marks the 12th anniversary of the Mahotsav, described by Pingale as a period of ‘tapa’ or penance, reflecting the dedication and vision of saints like Sachchidananda Parabrahma Gurudev Dr Athavale Ji.

Pingale traced the origins of the movement to 2012 and underscored its growth, stating that the seeds sown then have now blossomed into a robust campaign for a Hindu Rashtra. He noted the significant support and blessings from prominent religious leaders, including the Shankaracharya of Puri Peeth.

Highlighting the symbolic establishment of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Pingale quoted Athavale Ji, who envisioned this as the beginning of Ram Rajya on earth. The event, he mentioned, was recognized globally, with international support converging at platforms like the World Hindu Congress in Bangkok, where efforts to unite Hindus worldwide were reinforced.

Pingale commended the recent establishment of the NDA government under Prime Minister Modi, expressing hope that it would cater to Hindu interests. However, he pointed out two critical lessons from the recent elections: the complacency and passivity among Hindus, stressing the need for continuous effort and vigilance.

Addressing internal security, Pingale recounted the challenges posed by individuals like Amritpal Singh, Rashid Engineer, and Virya Fernandes, emphasizing the threat of separatism and anti-national activities. He called for systemic changes to prevent such threats from undermining national integrity.

He said, “Not only Bharat but the issue that is plaguing the entire world is jihadi terrorism. These jihadi terrorists want to make Bharat an Islamistan. This is one part of it. Another part is their sleeper cells in Bharat, they support and help these people.”

He further added, “This Lok Sabha election has seen the likes of Amrtipal (a Khalistani terrorist accused of sedition), Rashid Engineer (a Kashmiri separatist), and Captain Viriato Fernandes (who claimed that the Constitution was imposed on Goa) elected as MPs. This is a matter of great concern for the country. Therefore, some radical changes are required in the laws of the country. The Supreme Court had said in April 2023 that hate speech must be booked irrespective of religion. When anti-Sanatan elements spew venom about Sanatan Dharma, nothing happens, but when Suresh Chavanke (Chief Editor, Sudarshan Channel) asks people to take an oath of Hindavi Swaraj in a programme, he is promptly booked for hate speech. Bhagyanagar MLA T Rajasingh, some spokespersons of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti also have been booked. So we have to be cautious when reporting the injustice that Hindus face. We need to work on how to effectively present this injustice without getting caught in legal tangles.”

On the issue of jihadist terrorism, Pingale drew parallels with Israel’s firm stance against Hamas, advocating for a similar resolve in Bharat to combat jihadist threats. He highlighted the pervasive issue of narcotics jihad and the demographic threat posed by an increasing Muslim population, calling for a population control law. He said, “More than 37 crore people in the country are addicted to drugs. Out of them, 20 lakh are youth below 17 years of age. In the last 10 years, the drug business has increased by 180% and the money from it goes into jihadi terrorism. So, we also need to oppose this narcotics jihad that the young generation is using. Now we have to do population jihad. We cannot ignore it because we saw that as soon as the ratio of population changed in Britain, in an election there, 40 pro-Gaza Muslims were elected as corporators. So if the Islamic population keeps on increasing at this pace, then in 2060, the Islamic population will overtake the Christian population and become the largest population in the world. And in 2060, India is going to become the largest Muslim majority country and the country with the largest Muslim population in the world. So we need to make efforts regarding population control law as well.”

Pingale also condemned urban Naxalism and criticized political figures like DMK’s Udhayanidhi Stalin who called for the eradication of Sanatana Dharma and compared it to dengue, malaria, etc and pointed out that no action was taken against him. He urged the Hindu Samaj to address these challenges proactively and push for legal and constitutional reforms favouring Hindus.

The speech also touched upon the discriminatory temple acquisition laws and the ongoing struggle for cow protection, advocating for equal religious rights in education and the liberation of temples from government control. Pingale praised the efforts of advocates like Vishnu Shankar Jain and the Mandir Mahasangh in Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Goa.

In conclusion, Pingale outlined the main objectives of the Mahotsav: ideological protection of Sanatan Dharma, protection of Hindu Samaj, constitutional efforts for Hindu Rashtra, temple protection, and global Hindu organsation. He emphasized the importance of creating a conducive system for a Hindu Rashtra and building a cohesive Hindu ecosystem.

The event, spanning several days, will feature discussions and brainstorming sessions with various stakeholders, including thinkers, advocates, and religious leaders, aimed at strengthening the Hindu Rashtra movement. Pingale concluded with a call for unity and dedication to the cause, invoking the blessings of Lord Shri Krishna and Lord Shri Ramchandra for strength and wisdom in their efforts.

கம்பன், அப்பர் போன்றே திருமூலரும் நிறைய பழமொழிகளையும் உவமைகளையும்  பாடல்களில் பயன்படுத்துகிறார். தமிழர்கள் பிறந்தநாள் முதலே தாய் தந்தையரிடம்  பழமொழிகளைக் கேட்டுப் பழக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறார்கள் .அவர்கள் பேச்சுவாக்கில் பழமொழிகளை பயன்படுத்துவதில் வியப்பில்லை. ஆ னால் காஷ்மீரிலிருந்து வந்த ஒரு வடக்கத்தியரான  திருமூலர்  பழமொழிகலைப் படன்படுத்துவது வியப்பிற்குரியதே. தமிழர்கள் பழமொழி இன்றி பேச முடியாது 20, 000 தமிழ்ப் பழமொழிகளை தொகுத்த மூன்று வெள்ளைக்காரர்களே இது பற்றி ஆச்சர்யப்பட்டிருக்கிறார்கள் . அதே போல சம்ஸ்க்ருத பண்டிதர்களும் எதற் கெடுத்தாலும் ஒரு சுபாஷித ஸ்லோகத்தை மேற்கோள் காட்டிக்கொண்டே  இருப்பார்கள். சம்ஸ்க்ருதத்தில் ஏழு சுபாஷித நூல்களில் மட்டும் 40,000 பலமொழிகள்/ பொன்மொழிகள் உள்ளன. ஏனைய நூல்களிலிருந்து தொகு த்தால் ஒரு லட் சதை மிஞ்சினாலும் வியப்பதற்கில்லை. மஹா பாரதத்தின் அ னுசாசன, சாந்தி பருவங்களிலும் கருட புராணத்திலும் மட்டுமே ஆயிரக்கணக்கில் பழமொழிகள் (சுபாஷிதங்கள்) உள்ளன.இதோ திருமந்திரத்தில் திருமூலர் தரும் பழமொழிகள்:-

உள்ளங்கை நெல்லிக்கனி போல என்பதை சம்ஸ்க்ருதத்தில் கரவிந்யஸ்த பில்வ நியாயம் . கரத்தில் உள்ள வில்வப்பழம் போல என்று சொல்லுவார்கள் .கையில் இருக்கும் வில்வப்பழம் போல வெளிப்படையாக எந்த வித விளக்கமும் தேவையின்றி இருக்கும் ஒரு விஷயத்தைச் சுட்டிக் காட்ட இந்த நியாயம் வழங்கப்படுகிறது.

யானை உண்ட விளங்கனி (விளாம்பழம்) போல

திரிய விழுங்குஞ் சிவபெரு 1மானே.

யானை நோயால் பற்றப்பட்ட விளாம்பழம் ஓட்டில் ஒரு கேடுமில்லாதிருக்க, உள்ளே சதைப்பற்று ஏதுமில்லாமலிருக்கும் இயல்பினது. அதுபோல் உயிரும் உயிரைத் தாங்கிநிற்கும் திருவருளும், முன்னோதும் சிவனும், சொல்லுதற்கு அரிய துரியத்தின்மேல் அனைத்துலகங்களும் பின்னோதும் சிவனாம் செம்பொருளினால் மாறுதல் செய்து ஒடுக்கப்படும்.

(அ. சி.) கரி – யானை (யானையுண்ட விளங்கனி) – விளாமரத்து நோய்க்கு யானை என்று பெயர். திரிய – மாறுபட.

ஒரு ஸம்ஸ்க்ருத  ஸ்லோகம் சொல்கிறது:–

பணம் வரும் போது தேங்காயிலுள்ள நீர் (இளநீர்) போல வரும்; போகும் போது யானை உண்ட விளாம் பழம் போலவும் போய்விடும் (யானை, விளாம்பழத்தை ஓட்டோடு சாப்பிட்டுவிட்டு வெளியே கழிவாகத் தள்ளும்போதும் அது அப்படியே பழம்போலக் காட்சி தரும்; ஆனால் உள்ளே உள்ள எல்லாவற்றையும் சாப்பிட்டுவிடும்; சிலர் இது தவறு; ஒரு நோயின் பேர் யானை என்றும் அந்த நோய் கண்ட மரங்களின் பழங்களுக்குள் ஒன்றுமே இராது என்றும் சொல்லுவர்) .உண்மையில் பணம் வருவதும் போவதும் தெரியாது என்பதே பாட்டின் பொருள்:–

ஆஜகாம யதா லக்ஷ்மீர் நாரிகேல பலாம்புவத்

Why do Tamil Poets call Tirukkural- a Tamil Veda? Part 9

On November 5, 2012, I wrote an article in Tamil titled Valluvar was a Great Sanskrit Scholar in which I gave a list of 137 Sanskrit words in Tirukkural. That list was given by the great Tamil scholar Prof. Vaiyapuri Pillai of Madras University. Those words are repeated many times by Valluvar. He missed the word Adhikaram used in 133 chapters. My linguistic research shows that many more words are of Sanskrit origin. But my latest thinking is that these words might have come from the same source.

I will give just one simple example. Let us take the Tamilword neer for water which is found in the Rig Veda and Tirukkural (TK). Scholars like S K Chatterjee jumped to the conclusion that this and Mayura=peacock=Mayil in Tamil are Tamil words borrowed by the Rig Vedic poets. But those people missed Nereids in Greek which means Water Nymphs. They themselves agree if a word is found in Sanskrit, Greek and Latin they must be words from Indo European group. Sanskrit is also part of the group according to them. According to that rule NEER cant be a Tamil word. But we Tamils use Neer for water everyday and t is not in Sanskrit now.

If you do deep research, you find the missing links in other European languages. Then you will see the root. A lot of pure Tamil words are found in Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu and in Malysian and Sri Lanka Tamil. But Tamils in Tamil Nadu use different words. It may be due to external influences or just the custom. Even inside Tamil Nadu, some Tamil words are used only in some districts. Why? That is the custom. But if you go to 1000 year old or 2000 year old Tamil literature you may find them in other places as well.

Sanskrit in TK

Tiru Valluvar was a great Sanskrit scholar. He began his Kural with Sanskrit words (Aadhi, Bhagavan, A-karam, Ulaku) and finished his book with Sanskrit word kaamam.

A-karam in the first Kural. When I went to Sanskrit class as a school student , we began the  the lesson with Sabdams ;all of us will say Akaaraaantha Pulingah Raama Sabdah.

All the words in the Sabda recitation will have kaara – A-kaaranatha, E-kaaranatha, U-kaaranatha etc. Valluvar used Paninian grammar for the letters A-kaara, u-Kaara etc.

So, the very first word in the very first Kural is Sanskrit-

A-kara mudala eluththu ellaam…………………… (Kural 1)

My research shows that Valluvar used Sanskrit in about 600 Kurals. Dravidians saw Sanskrit as an enemy and put counter arguments saying that most of the words in the above 137 list of Prof.Vaiyapuri Pillai went to Sanskrit from Tamil. It was not supported by the Linguistic rules. The real argument would be to say that both the languages had same origin. That is the reason Lord Shiva sent Brahmin Agastya to write a grammar for Tamil language. No one denied it until this day.

Now look at the list given by Prof Vaiyapuri Pillai which I gave in this blog 12 years ago. You take a highlighter pen and high light these words and highlight the word Adhikaaram as well in your TK book.

Before we go into the word list, lot of scholars like G U Pope, VN Ramachandra Dikshitar, Popley, Dr R Nagaswamy, Ellis and others had shown the parallel slokas in Manu Smriti, Artha Sastra, Kama Sastra books. We may leave them saying Great men think alike. I have added the influence of stories from Pachatantara and Puranas in Kurals.

I have given the parallels from Shakespeare, Spinoza, Dryden, Alexander Pope, Seneca, Longfellow, Milton, Molliere, Robert Browning, Plato, Aristotle, Emerson, Bacon, Moses, Bernard Shaw, Machiavelle, Socrates, Voltaire and many more western thinkers in my articles posted here (for this part I am indebted to DR S M Diaz’s two volume Tirukkural Translation. He was I G of Police in Tamil Nadu)

I have added lot of Kurals where we see the influence of Bhagavad Gita; I know Rajaji also did that.

Great men think alike is very true! But Tiru Valluvar is greater than the greatest of these scholars because he put them in one short book! Really a wonder in the world of literature!

சூரியனின் கிரணங்களை ஸிபி என்பர். ஏனென்றால் அது தண்ணீரை உறிஞ்சி தன்னகத்தே வைத்துக்கொள்கிறது.அவைகளுக்குள் விஷ்ணு புகுந்துவிட்டதால் விஷ்ணுவை ஸிபிவிஷ்ட. என்கிறோம்.

நிகண்டுகளில் போற்றுதற்குரிய தர்மம் வ்ருஷ என்று கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது ஆகையால் பார்த்தா ! என்னை  வ்ருஷ என்று அறிவாயாக.

வாசுதேவ ஹ — நாம் எண் 332

அனைத்திலும் உறைந்து விளையாடுபவர் . எல்லாவற்றிலும் வசித்தும் எல்லாவற்றையும் மாயையால் மறைத்து வைத்தும் இருப்பதால் வாசு எனப்படுகிறார். விளையாடுவதாலும் , ஜெயிப்பதாலும் , பிரவிருத்தி நிவ்ருத்திகளை உண்டாக்குவதாலும் , பிரகாசிப்பதாலும், மோக்ஷத்தை கருதுகிறவர்களால் துதிக்கப்பெறுவதாலும்  தேவர் எனப்படுகிறார்.

மஹாபாரதம் சாந்தி பர்வம் சொல்கிறது :

சாதயாமி ஜகத் விஸ்வம் பூத்வா ஸூர்ய இவாம்சுபிஹி

ஸர்வ பூதாதி வாஸஸ்ச  வாஸு தேவஸ்ததஹ ஸ்ம்ருதஹ

சூரியனாக மாறி நான் உலகம் முழுதும் கதிர்களைப்  பரப்புகிறேன்.எல்லாரிடத்திலும் வசிக்கிறேன் .. அதனால் என்னை வாசு தேவ என்கிறார்கள்

மஹாபாரத உத்யோக பர்வம் 70-3 கூறுவதாவது:

வஸனாத்  ஸர்வ பூதானாம் வஸூத் வாத் தேவ யோனிதஹ

வாஸு தேவஸ்ததோ  ஞேயோ  யோகிபிஸ் தத்வ தர்ஸி பிஹி

எல்லா தேவர்களுக்கும் உறைவிடமாகவும் , எல்லா மக்களுக்கும் உறைவிடமாகவும் இருப்பதால் அவரை வாசு தேவ என்று  சொல்ல வேண்டும்.

Why do Tamil Poets call Tirukkural- a Tamil Veda? Part 8

Tiru Valluvar, author of Tirukkural (TK), supports Buddha in praising Brahmins . Buddha said in the Buddhist Veda Dhammapada “ even if  a Brahmin murders or dislodges a Ruler or Government he  should not be punished. He has not committed any sin”.

In ancient India, offending Brahmins were debarred from Vedic rituals or declared out casts. Offending Kshatrias were  banished. We know how banished Vijaya came to Sri Lanka and started a new empire.

Buddhist Veda Dhammapada contains 423 slokas in Pali. Of them one tenth are about Brahmins. Last Chapter is about Brahminism. Even before this chapter he says,

Verse 294. Brahmins may murder kings

One’s mother and father having slain
and then two warrior kings,
a realm as well its treasurer,
one goes immune, a Brahmin True.

Verse 295. The ‘Killer’ Who Goes Free

One’s mother and father having slain
and then two learned kings,
as well the fifth, a tiger fierce,
one goes immune, a Brahmin True.

Verse 389. Harm Not A Brahmin

One should not a brahmin beat
nor for that should He react.
Shame! Who would a Brahmin beat,
more shame for any should they react.

Manu also said the same thing,

“A Brahmin by retaining Rig Veda (RV) in his memory incurs no guilt, though he should destroy the three worlds”– Manu Smriti 11-261

But Manu and Buddha and Valluvar define Who a Brahmin is. Like Manu Smrti, Buddha and Valluvar, while praising Brahmins, stipulate strict conditions for Brahmins. Manu says Brahmins should not go abroad, they should not save money but beg for money everyday by doing Yagas and Yajnas. He also says that he should study Veda every day.

Valluvar beautifully repeated all these things.

Valluvar says a Brahmin has six duties throughout his life.

Valluvar says a Brahmin may even forget Vedas, but if his character is lost everything is lost.

Valluvar says Brahmins and cows are the leaders of the living world. ‘Go brahmanebhyo’ oft repeated Sanskrit phrase in Hindu Books. It means the Cows and the Brahmins. Valluvar also repeated this phrase.

If one is a real Brahmin he can bring down a Government, like Chanakya. If he is a real Brahmin he can murder like Agastya, but occurs no sin. End justifies the means.

Here are the relevant Kural couplets

Brahmins are praised in Kural 30, 134, 543, 560,

let us look at the couplets one by one:

Those who are merciful  are really the men of virtue,

Because they have compassion for all living beings- 30

Or

The ascetics are truly called Andhanas because they are kind to all creatures-30

Debate on the word Anthanar

Anthanar literally translated would mean Men of mercy. It applies to anyone with mercy. In Hindu context it means Brahmins, saints, Jains and Buddhists. But it is always used for Brahmins with Six duties.

Manakkudavar , one of the ancient commentators clearly says Anthanar are Brahmins.

Sangam literature also says

Aru Thozil Anthanar= Brahmins with Six Tasks.

Brahmins with Six Tasks is in all scriptures including Manu Smriti.

They learn Vedas and teach it (2 duties); they beg and donate (2 duties); they do fire sacrifice at home everyday and they do fire sacrifices for all others (2 duties).

That is why 2000 year old Sangam literature used the word ARU THOZIL (six task) ANTHANAAR.

Moreover, Ilango in Tamil epic Silappadikaram also gives three categories of people who must be welcomed and fed by household women; in those three categories we see Ascetics (thuravor), people of Dharma (aravor) and Anthanar/Brahmins. So Anthanar is Brahmin according to Ilango, author of Silappadikaaram.

‘அறவோர்க்கு அளித்தலும், அந்தணர் ஓம்பலும்,
துறவோர்க்கு எதிர்தலும், தொல்லோர் சிறப்பின்
விருந்து எதிர்கோடலும், இழந்த என்னை- Kannaki laments about what she lost in Silappadikaaram 16-7

The Brahmin who has forgotten his scriptures could read them up again;

But if he neglects right conduct he will lose his birth right- 134

Or

If a brahmin forgets Vedas ,he re acquire it; but if he fails in his conduct he slips down in his rank of birth-134

Here Valluvar used the word Paarppaan= one who sees or Seer. Thirumular also used this word.

My comments

Both Anthanar and Paarppaan mean the same according to me. They are seekers of Brahman/God

Anthanar and Paarppaan literally mean inward seeing/looking for God.

Other three castes look outwards for establishing a prosperous society. Brahmins look after the community’s spiritual wealth, and not economic wealth.

As the ultimate basis of the Vedas of the sages and Dharma of wisemen

Stands the straight sceptre of a just king – 543

or

The sceptre of a ruler is the stable support of the scriptures of brahmins and all the virtues enshrined by them – 543

Here Valluvar himself agreed that Anthanars are Brahmins. He used the word Books of Anthanar, i.e. Vedas.

Saints don’t read or recite Vedas like Brahmins; they don’t do sacrifices. They only encourage people to do it.

if the ruler does not perform his protective function righteously,

the cows yield less, and the Brahmins forget their Mantras-560

or

Cows yield less and the people with six fold duties forget Vedas, if the king does not guard justice -560

Two points must be noted here. Modern generation may laugh at Valluvar for linking just rule and yield of milk. They would dub this as superstition.

Second point is linking Brahmins and Cows.

This has been there for over 5000 years including Sangam Literature and Tevaram of Tiru Gnana Sambandar.

The phrase Go Brahmana mean the entire society. From cow- all living beings, From men all human beings must prosper.

Hindus finish all prayers by wishing

svasti prajabhyah: pari-palayantham
nyayeana margena mahim maheesah:
go-brahmanebhya: shubamasthu nityam
lokah: samasthah: sukhino bhavanthu

May there be well being to the people; may the kings rule the earth along the right path;
May the cattle and the preceptors of culture and wisdom  have well being forever;
May all the beings in all the worlds become happy;
Peace, peace and peace be everywhere!

Valluvar also coupled cows and Brahmins in Kural

Third point is ‘men of six duties’ is used with Anthanar in 2000 year old Sangam Tamil literature, confirming Anthanar is nothing but Brahmin.

More meritorious than a thousand burnt offerings is to give up

The practice of killing a living creature, and eating its carcass.

Or

Better to refrain from killing and abstaining from the flesh obtained there by, than kindling a thousand  sacrificial fires –  259

It is nothing but a translation of Manu

See Manu 5-53

वर्षे वर्षेऽश्वमेधेन यो यजेत शतं समाः ।
मांसानि च न खादेद् यस्तयोः पुण्यफलं समम् ॥ ५३ ॥

varṣe varṣe’śvamedhena yo yajeta śataṃ samāḥ |
māṃsāni ca na khāded yastayoḥ puṇyaphalaṃ samam ||5- 53 ||

If a man performs the Aśvamedha Sacrifice every year, for a hundred tears,—and another does not eat meat,—the merit and reward of both these are the same.—(5-53.)

All non- vegetarians and foreigners mis translated it and said Valluvar condemns Yagas. But all vegetarians understood it clearly and said Non-Killing = 1000 Yagas.

Manu also confirmed it. Kanchi Paramacharaya – Shankaracharya of Kanchi 1894-1994- also quoted this couplet and gave the correct meaning.

Poo,r pitiable non vegetarian gangs shed crocodile tears!

Persons who have listened and internalised from instructions of the learned,

Will be like Gods on Earth, flourishing on obligational offerings- 413

Those who in this world enjoy instruction which is the food of the ear, are equal to gods who enjoy the food of sacrifice- 413

 There are men who find listening a feast for their ears. On earth they resemble deities who feast from sacrificial fires- 413

Shuddhananda Bharati

Whose ears get lots of wisdom-food
Equal gods on oblations fed.

GU Pope

Who feed their ear with learned teachings rare,
Are like the happy gods oblations rich who share.

My comments

Here Valluvar praises the Vedic Yagas and Yajnas and deities.

Another point missed by all commentators is Brahmins are called Bhuusurar- Deities on Earth.

So, my interpretation is all that who listen to wisdom teachings are Brahmins or Deities on earth.

So valluvar never criticised Yagas or Yajnas (fire sacrifices) nor Brahmins.

My comments

We see the great respect given to cow by Valluvar in this  Kural and Kural 560. Why did he mention cow in these Kurals. It is because of the respect to Go Mata (Go maathaa)

மடக்கொடி யாரொடு மந்தணங் கொண்டார்
இடப்பக்க மேஇறை நொந்தது என்றார்
கிடக்கப் படுத்தார் கிடந்தொழிந் தாரே. 

மனைவி அறுசுவை உணவு சமைத்திருந்தாள் . சாப்பிட்டவர் மனைவியுடன் சுகமாகப் படுத்திருந்தார் ; ஐயோ இடப்பாலம் வலிக்கிறதே என்றார் ;  அவருடைய கதை  முடிந்தது

இந்த இருதய நோய் பற்றிய வருணனை இரண்டு விஷயங்களை நமக்கு தெரிவிக்கிறது

1.சுமார் 1200 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்னரே இந்த நோய் நிறைய தமிழ் மக்களை காவு கொண்டுள்ளது .

2.இருதய நோய் என்றால் என்ன என்ற மருத்துவ விஷயம் நன்றாகத் தெரிந்திருக்கிறது . மனித உடலில் இதயம் என்ற உறுப்பு இடப்பக்கத்தில் உள்ளது. அங்கு வலி ஏற்பட்டு, அது முதலில் இடது கையில் பரவும். உடனே சிகிச்சை தாராவிடில் மரணம் சம்பவிக்கும்  .

ஆரு மறியார் அறிவறிந் தேனே

இப்போதெல்லாம் வெளிநாட்டில் உணவு  வாங்கினால் அதன் மீது எவ்வளவு கலோரி சக்தி உடம்பில் சேரும் என்று எழுந்திருப்பார்கள் .

கலோரி  என்றால் என்ன?

ஒரு கிராம் எடையுள்ள நீரை ஒரு டிகிரி வெப்பம் உயர்த்த தேவைப்படும் சக்தி ஒரு கலோரி ஆகும். நிறைய கலோரி உடைய உணவுகளை சாப்பிட்டால் உடலுக்கு அந்த அளவுக்கு சக்தி கிடைக்கும். அதிக கலோரி சாப்பிட, சாப்பிட உடம்பில் எடை கூடிக்கொண்டே இருக்கும். எடை கூடினால் இரத்த அழுத்தம், இருதய நோய்கள் வரும். இதை திருமூலரும் சொல்கிறார் .

அகத்தில் ஏற்படும் தீயை (வன்னி) யாரும் அளப்பது இல்லை. வெப்பம் என்பது இன்றைய வழக்கில் கலோரி எனப்படும் ; உடம்பில் ஏற்படும் சுவாசத்தை யாரும் அளப்பது இல்லை. அதிகம் ஓடினால்  அதிக சுவாசம் ஏற்படும் . செக்ஸ் செயல்களில் ஈடுபட்டால்  அதிக சுவாசம் வெளியேறும். இதே போல கோப ப்பட்டு கத்தினால் , பயந்தால் சுவாசம் அதிகரிக்கும். சாதாரண நல்ல ஒரு மனிதன்  ஒரு நாளைக்கு 21 6000 முறை சுவாசிப்பான் ..யோகிகள் போல அமர்ந்து இறைவனை சிந்தித்தால் சுவாசம் குறையும். பிராணாயாமம் செய்தால் இன்னும் குறையும். இப்படிக்கு குறைத்து, குறைத்து யோகிகள் நீண்ட காலம் வாழ்ந்தனர்.

Why do Tamil Poets call Tirukkural- a Tamil Veda? Part 7

There is a very valid reason for ancient Tamil poets praising Tirukkural (TK) as Tamil Veda. The very name of the book is Dhama Aratha Kama! In Tamil author Tiru Valluvar named it Muppaal meaning Three Subjects or Three Sections and divided it into three sections

Dharma/Aram in Tamil

Artha- Porul in Tamil

Kama (kaama) in Tamil (Tamils used the same Sanskrit word)

Let me first tell you some interesting things about this Dharma, Artha and Kaama.

The very word DHARMA is a cognate of Tamil word ARAM. Dharma becomes Dharam in Hindi and Aram in Tamil.

The second interesting thing is these three Hindu values Dharma, Artha Kaama are found in the oldest Tamil book Tolkappiam and Purananuru, part of 2000 year old Sangam Tamil Books.

The third interesting thing is PORUL have same double meaning  in Tamil and Sanskrit! This shows both are from the same family of languages; Dravidian family is a fake. Thousands of Tamil words are found in English and hundreds of Tamil words are found in Greek and Latin. That means they are from the same family of languages. Cunning foreigners who came to divide the country and rule and spread Christianity created new family of languages. Even a child can see that all these new words came from Christian priests!

PORUL= meaning, a thing, wealth (in Tamil)

ARTHA= Meaning  , wealth (in Sanskrit)

(there are so many words like this; I have written about them in my Linguistics Research Book)

The fourth interesting thing is Tamils differed from Sanskrit speakers in one aspect  that they never write about Moksha (veedu in Tamil) , the fourth value.

Tamil grammatical rules say strange things:

1.A woman should not go abroad (in Tolkappiam)! Manu Smrti says Brahmins should not go abroad.

2.No Tamil should say Mokha openly, because it is a very secret and sacred word.

3.No Tamil should coin any word with Sa sound!! You can’t find a single Tamil word in the list of 100,000 words in the Sangam literature. But few Sanskrit words are used violating Tamil Grammar.

Ancient Tamils never hesitated to use Sanskrit words. The very word SANGAM  Tamil Literature is Sanskrit.

The words KAMA, MANAS,HRUTHAYA etc are used through out Tamil Literature for over 2000 years!

Apply four tests in choosing genuine officers; virtue, wealth, pleasure and fear of death- 501

The choice of he right executives should be decided on by the way they react to  the

Four-fold tests  concerning Virtue, Wealth, Love and Fear of death- 501

It is in Kautilya’s Artha sastra (saastra) Bk.1 Ch.10

The wealth must be acquired by righteous means, by honest work. Such wealth brings virtue and happiness-754

Or

Where wealth is acquired in the right way, without taint of evil in end and means

It will lead to righteousness   and genuine happiness- 754

Those who have treasured abundant wealth, easily obtain the other two: virtue and delight-760

Or

To a person, who has earned wealth faultlessly, by hard work,

The other two objects of life come naturally – 760

The three objects of life are

righteousness

wealth

love, as dealt with in detail in three parts by Valluvar.

We see here that Valluvar always has in his mind Dharma Artha Kama .

There are many more places where the commentators use the three values,  though Valluvar did not use the words openly.

Fourth Value Mokha

As per Tamil tradition, Valluvar neither put it as a topic nor used the word; but throughout the section on Aseticism  he talks about VEEDU/Moksha by using different words.
