In Tamil we have an idiom “like inserting a needle in a ripe banana fruit”. That means attacking someone without visible injury. That is what Max Muller and gang did to Hindus. From hymn 1 to 1025 in the Rig Veda (RV) ‘Soma drink’ appears directly or indirectly. Max Muller and gang dubbed it as a narcotic drug. That means Vedic Hindus were drug addicts. That too, they used drug at 4-30 am every day after a holy dip by lighting the fire, that too in a geometrically shaped fire altar, that too after wasting the precious Soma drink by pouring some into the sacred fire. And that Soma plant was brought to them by Eagles and Falcons according to several hymns of the RV. Second thing they did was translated ‘arya’ with a capital ‘A’ to mean that it is a race and they added wherever this word comes, the opponents were native people who they destroyed after entering India via Khyber pass. Sayana used it to mean ‘cultured, educated, civilized and those follow the rules in the Vedas’. All the westerners misused and abused Sayana’s name.
Hindu religious leaders saw Sayana as a great saint but they never approved his translations. Because Vedas are not supposed to be translated. According to them it is based on magical sounds. Moreover Sayana did try sincerely just 700 years before our time and failed miserably. He himself could not understand many passages and their deep meaning. For instance, through out the Vedas all rishis /seers sing the glory of all gods as Finders of Cows hidden in the Cave. All the seers say Indra broke the top of mountains, created seas and sun and earth. Whenever Indra destroyed Forts, they dubbed it as an attack on the natives. Whenever Indra broke the mountain, Vishnu measured the earth, the westerners dodge and ran away without elaborating on it. Whenever they found something which went against their hypothesis, they told us it must be a later addition/interpolation
Even when Yaska was alive 2800 years ago he could not understand 600 words in the Vedic Sanskrit, according to Aurobindo’s ‘Vedic Glossary’ book. Now I am reading the Rig Veda Mantra by Mantra (there are over 10,000 mantras in the RV) and I am amazed to see all our customs, literary style, Idioms and phrases are rooted in the RV. Even Tamils who occupy the Southern most part of India use hundreds of words found in the RV.
Up to this part my comments. I don’t want to put my words into the mouth of the greatest linguistic scholar cum saint of our times Sri Chanrda Sekara Indra Sarasvati (1894-1994), Kanchi Shankaracharya. Please read how he criticizes the western scholars ‘like inserting a needle into the ripe old banana fruit’. Any one interested in linguistic research must read his lectures on grammar, astrology, etymology etc.
