This is part five of Amazing Unity and continuity in the Rig Veda, the oldest book in the world.
If a society has something uniform to show that means they must have existed there for at least 500 years before that. It takes a lot of time to codify a grammar for a language. Scholars see some uniform factors in the literature of that language and then only codify a grammar. This is applicable to the style or genre they follow, the cliches they use etc.
If you listen to BBC news of Second World War they are different in accent, tone etc. if you watch old Black and white movies then you feel how much they have changed now. It changes slowly in olden days, but faster nowadays because of advanced communication technology. Vedic style, cliché and prosody show us that they belonged to one period and then changed completely at the Upanishadic time, more during Paninian days.

36.PARDON FOR SINS
Throughout the Vedas we see the rishis begging for pardon for the sins they committed. This is continued until very recently in Tamil and Sanskrit hymns. Repentance is seen in many hymns.
37.SAPTA RISHI
The Great Seven Seers are seen individually as well as collectively. Reference to Seven Seers (Sapta Rishi) is in Tamil Sangam literature too.
38.GRAMMAR/PROSODY
Grammar and prosody are well established by the time of Rig Veda. Names of Seven metres are told by Brahmins even in Sandhyavandana Mantra everyday. They are from the Vedas. Most famous Gayatri mantra is named after the Gayatri metre.
39.REPETITION OF LAST LINES
Nowadays compositions of famous musicians have a refrain. In Hindu Bhajans also, we see it. In several Vedic hymns we come across repeated lines in every stanza. This is found only in the Vedas, not in ancient Tamil literature. Later day Tamil music compositions have this.
40. DIALOGUE POEMS
Over 20 dialogue poems are found in the rig Veda spreading over several Mandalas. I have not seen any such dialogues in ancient Tamil poems. This also shows unity in Rig Veda.
41.FATHER/HEAVEN, MOTHER/EARTH
Sky is the father and earth is the mother. When max Muller saw this he compared the Dyaus/Sky with Zeus of Greeks and got excited. He claimed that he also belonged to the same Aryan race. This lead Hitler to claim of Aryan Pure Blood! Those who read Hitler’s autobiography Mein Kampf will find it.
42.HEROIC CHILDREN
Vedic Hindus always pray for Heroic children. This is also unique. Later Hindu literature pray for SONs but they are not keen to say Heroic children.
43.TRUTH/ RTAM
India’s government emblem has the Upanishadic saying ‘Truth alone triumphs’. This Truth /Sathya and rtam (Truth as well Rhythm) are found in hundreds of places in the Vedas. No other religious literature has so many references.
44.SAME GODS IN FOUR VEDAS
Though the Four Vedas came about in a period of 1000 years, the amazing fact about them is they praise the same gods and goddesses. In the same period in Egypt and Babylonia we came across hundreds of Gods and Goddesses and all of them are in Museums and Encyclopaedias now. Where as the same Vedic Gods and Goddesses such as Indra, Varuna, Mitra, Sarasvati, Bharati, Aditi etc. are worshipped by us.
Indra’s name is found in Bogazkoy Cuneiform clay tablet of 1340 BCE and in my next door neighbour’s name as well. Prime Minister of India has that Indra in Nara+ Indra +Modi. As a brahmin, I recite Vedic Gods’ names thrice a day in daily ritual Sandhyavandana. Temples have all the Vedic Gods.
When all other ancient gods have become museum pieces, millions of Brahmins worship the Vedic Gods (Agni, Vayu, Arka, Vageesa, Varuna, Indra, Visve Deva; Yamaya Namah; Vishnu, Gayatri, Sarasvati) every day in thrice a day prayer!
45.BOAT/ SHIP SIMILE
Boat or Ship simile is there in almost all Mandalas. It shows their maritime trades with other countries.
46.SEEDS OF PURANA- THREE STEPS
From the very beginning we see Three Steps of Vishnu an allusion to Vamana or Tri vikrama Avatar. We have also reference to Manu and Floods, which means they know about Fish Avatar (Matsyavatar). Commentators refer to various Avatars in interpreting Vedic mantras.
For the Three Steps, commentators give different meanings as well.
47.FOREST FIRES
Forest fires are described in all the Mandalas. Whether they did it to clear the forests or used the natural forest fires to cultivate, we never know. But the fires and the animals screaming and running from the scorching heat are described vividly.
48.NYMPHS
Hindus believed that all the natural sources such as lakes, trees, ponds, sea and hill tops have nymphs. Greeks carried this belief to their lands as well. Sangam Tamil literature have got lot of references to Anangu/Nymphs)
49.PANINI’S LIST OF CHANDAS WORDS AND GRAMMAR
Panini in his Ashtadhyayee grammar book quotes the Vedic grammar. This also covers all the Mandalas. The comparison helps to understand the grammar of Classical Sanskrit.
50.War and Enemies
War and enemies are constantly referred to. Does it mean the Vedic Hindus were war mongers or they were constantly under attack. Either way the reference in all the ten mandalas make us think that next to agriculture, army recruited more employees. But like modern literature they might have referred to internal enemies (Kama, Krodha, Lobha); it need not be blood shedding wars! The Dasa Rajna Yuddham – War of Ten Kings) is referred to by many Vedic poets.
51.Amrit
Amrit figures in all mandalas of Rig Veda.. Amrit is used in 2000 year old Tamil Sangam literature as well . ancient Tamil literature has over 50 references to it. They use the Rig Vedic Sanskrit word Amrit wth different Tamil spellings.

நாடு முழுவதும் தீபாவளி கொண்டாட்டம் -கோவில்களில் சிறப்பு வழிபாடு
நரகாசுரனை கிருஷ்ணர் வதம் செய்ததை நினைவுபடுத்தும் வகையில், வடமாநிலங்களில் நரகாசுன் உருவ பொம்மைகளை எரித்து தீபாவளி கொண்டாடுகின்றனர். கோவா மாநில தலைநகர் பனாஜியில் நரகாசுரன் உருவ பொம்மைகளுக்கு தீவைக்கப்பட்டது. இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியை ஏராளமானோர் கண்டுகளித்தனர்.
தீபாவளி பண்டிகையை முன்னிட்டு கோவில்களில் சிறப்பு வழிபாடுகள் நடத்தப்படுகின்றன. பக்தர்கள் அதிகாலை முதலே சாமி தரிசனம் செய்ய அனுமதிக்கப்படுகின்றனர். வட நாட்டில் தீபாவளி பண்டிகையை 5 நாட்களுக்குக் கொண்டாடுவார்கள் .

அமெரிக்கா, பிரிட்டனில் தீபாவளி விழாக்கள்
இதேபோல் உலகம் முழுவதிலும் வசிக்கும் இந்தியர்கள் மற்றும் இந்திய வம்சாவளியினரும் தீபாவளி பண்டிகையை உற்சாகமாக கொண்டாடி மகிழ்கின்றனர்.
அமெரிக்காவில் முதல் தடவையாக தீபாவளி பட்டாசு வாண வேடிக்கை ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டது.
அமெரிக்க ஜனாதிபதி ஜோ பைடனும் அவரது மனைவியும் தீப படத்துடன் தீபாவளி வாழ்த்து தெரிவித்தனர். இதே போல துணை ஜனாதிபதி திருமதி கம லா ஹாரிஸும் வாழ்த்துச் செய்தி அனுப்பினார்.
பிரிட்டனில் பார்லிமெண்ட் தீபாவளி விழா ஆன் லைனில் நடந்தது. பிரதமர் பாரிஸ் ஜான்சன் வீடியோ பதிவில் வாழ்த்து அனுப்பினார். உட்துறை அமைச்சர் திருமதி ப்ரீதி படேல் நிகழ்ச்சியில் கலந்துகொண்டு சிறப்புரை ஆற்றினார்
பார்லிமென்டின் இந்து மதகே குழுவின் தலைவரும் இந்தியாவில் உயரிய விரு து பெற்றவருமான பாப் ப்ளாக்க்மன் பாப் பிளாக்மான் இந்த ஆண்டு தீபாவளி நாட்களில் 24 மணி நேரத்துக்குள் 12 கோவில்களுக்கு விஜயம் செய்து தரிசிப்பேன் என்றார் . அவரை அடுத்து பேசிய உட்துறை அமைச்சர் ப்ரீதி படேல் தன்னால் பாப் பிளாக்மானுடன் போட்டி போட இயலாது என்றும் தான் வழக்கமாகப் போகும் சின்னக் கோவிலுக்கு அப்பா அம்மாவுடன் போகப் போவதாகவும் தெரிவிதார்

பிரிட்டனின் நிதியமைச்சரான ரிஷி சுனக், ஒரு புதிய தீபாவளிப் பரிசை அறிவித்தார்.தீபாவளியைக் கொண்டாடும் முகத்தான், 5 பவுண்ட் மதிப்புள்ள மஹாத்மா காந்தி உருவம் பொறித்த நாணயங்கள் வெளியிடப்படுமென்றார்.
பொதுவாக, இது நாணயம் சேகரிப்போருக்காக வெளியிடப்படும். சாதாரண 5 பவுண்ட் நாணயத்தோடு வெள்ளி தங்கத்திலும் நாணயங்கள் வெளியிடப்படும் .
இவை தவிர செல்வ தேவதையான லட்சுமி உருவம் பொறித்த தங்க பிஸ்கட்டுகளும் தங்கப் பாளங்களும் வெளியிடப்படும் என்று நிதி அமைச்சர் ரிஷி அறிவித்தார் .
இது இந்தியர்களை மகிழ்ச்சிக் கடலில் ஆழ்த்தியது. பிரிட்டனில் மிக முக்கிய அமைச்சர் பொறுப்புகள் இந்திய வம்சாவளியினரிடம் ஒப்படைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது குறிப்பிடத் தக்கது

திருமலை பாலாஜி வெங்கடேஸ்வரர் காணிக்கை ரூ.4.16 கோடி
திருமலை பாலாஜி வெங்கடேஸ்வரரை தரிசிக்க வரும் பக்தர்கள், தரிசனம் செய்த பின் தங்கள் காணிக்கைகளை உண்டியலில் செலுத்தி வருகின்றனர். இவ்வாறு பக்தர்கள் செலுத்தும் காணிக்கைகளை தேவஸ்தானம் சில்லரை, ரூபாய் நோட்டுகள், வெளிநாட்டு கரன்சிகள் என பிரித்து கணக்கிடுகிறது.
அவ்வாறு பக்தர்கள், தீபாவளிக்கு முந்தைய நாள் உண்டியலில் செலுத்திய காணிக்கைகளை தேவஸ்தானம் கணக்கிட்டதில் 4.16 கோடி ரூபாய் வருவாய் கிடைத்தது. ‘இது கடந்த சில மாதங்களில் வசூலான, உண்டியல் வருவாய்களில் அதிகபட்சமானது’ என, அதிகாரிகள் தெரிவித்தனர்.

கேதார்நாத் கோவிலில் பிரதமர் மோடி வழிபாடு; ஆதி சங்கரர் சிலை திறப்பு
உத்தரகண்டின் கேதார்நாத் கோவில் அருகே 12 அடி உயர ஆதி சங்கராச்சாரியார் சிலையை திறந்த பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி, அங்கு சிறப்பு பூஜை செய்து வழிப்பட்டார்.
உத்தரகண்டில் 2013ல் ஏற்பட்ட வெள்ளத்தின் போது கேதார்நாத் கோவில் சேதம் அடைந்தது. கோவில் அருகே இருந்த ஆதி சங்கராச்சாரியார் சமாதி வெள்ளத்தில் அடித்து செல்லப்பட்டது. கோவில் மற்றும் சமாதியை புனரமைக்கும் பணியை 500 கோடி ரூபாய் செலவில் மத்திய, மாநில அரசுகள் செய்து வருகின்றன.
கேதார்நாத் கோவில் அருகே 12 அடி உயரமும், 35 டன் எடையும் உடைய ஆதி சங்கரரின் கற்சிலை நிறுவப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்த சிலையை கர்நாடகாவின் மைசூருவை சேர்ந்த சிற்பி யோகிராஜ் செதுக்கி உள்ளார்.
இந்த சிலை உருவாக்கத்திற்காக 120 டன் கல் கொண்டுவரப்பட்டு, 2020 செப்டம்பரில் சிலை செதுக்கும் பணி துவங்கியது. ஆதி சங்கரரின் அமர்ந்த நிலையிலான இந்த சிலையை பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி நவ.,05-ம் தேதி திறந்து வைத்தார். முன்னதாக அங்குள்ள தேவ மந்திரங்கள் முழங்கிட சிவன் மற்றும் நந்தி சிலைகளுக்கு பிரதமர் மோடி ஆரத்தி எடுத்து சிறப்பு வழிபாடு நடத்தினார்.

9 லட்சம் தீபங்களுடன் அயோத்தியில் தீப உற்சவம் – புதிய உலக சாதனை
நாடு முழுவதும் தீபாவளி பண்டிகை வெகு விமர்சையாகக் கொண்டாடப்பட்டது.
தீபாவளியை முன்னிட்டு உத்தர பிரதேச மாநிலம் அயோத்தியில் தீப உற்சவம் நடைபெற்று வருகிறது.
தீப உற்சவ நிகழ்ச்சியின் முக்கிய பகுதியாக அயோத்தி நகரின் சரயு நதி கரையோரத்தில் ஒன்பது லட்சத்துக்கும் மேற்பட்ட அகல் விளக்குகளை ஏற்றிக் கொண்டாடினர். இதனால் அயோத்தி முழுவதும் தீப ஒளி வெள்ளத்தில் ஜொலித்து வருகிறது.
இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியில் அம்மாநில முதல் மந்திரி யோகி ஆதித்யநாத் பங்கேற்றார். சிறப்பு அழைப்பாளராக சுற்றுலாத்துறை இணை மந்திரி கிஷண் ரெட்டி பங்கேற்றார். மாநில கவர்னர் ஆனந்திபென் படேல், மாநில அமைச்சர்களும் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.
கடந்த ஆண்டு தீபாவளியின் போது சுமார் 6 லட்சம் அகல் விளக்குகளை ஏற்றியது கின்னஸ் சாதனை படைத்த நிலையில், இந்த ஆண்டு ஒன்பது லட்சம் அகல் விளக்குகள் ஏற்றப்பட்டது புதிய கின்னஸ் சாதனை ஆனது.

சபரிமலை நடை திறப்பு: மண்டல பூஜைக்காக முன்னேற்பாடுகள் தீவிரம்
சபரிமலை ஐயப்பன் கோயிலில் ஆண்டுதோறும் மகரவிளக்கு மற்றும் மண்டல பூஜை விமரிசையாக நடைபெறும். இதில் பங்கேற்பதற்காக நாட்டின் பல்வேறு பகுதிகளிலிருந்து பக்தர்கள் கோயிலுக்கு வருவர். இந்த ஆண்டு மகர விளக்கு மற்றும் மண்டல பூஜைக்காக ஐயப்பன் கோயில் நடை திறக்கப்படுகிறது.
கோயிலில் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ள ஏற்பாடுகள் குறித்து தேவசம் போர்டு அமைச்சர் கடகம்பள்ளி சுரேந்திரன் விரிவான ஆலோசனை நடத்தினார். பின்னர் செய்தியாளர்களிடம் பேசிய அவர், கோயிலுக்கு வரும் பக்தர்கள் அனைவரும் 24 மணி நேரத்துக்குள் பரிசோதனை செய்து கொரோனா நெகட்டிவ் சான்றிதழ் வைத்திருக்க வேண்டும் என்றார்.
பக்தர்களின் வசதிக்காக, பம்பா மற்றும் நிலக்கல் பகுதியில் கொரோனா பரிசோதனை மையங்கள் செயல்படும் என்றும் அவர் கூறினார்.
ஆன்லைன் மூலம் பதிவு செய்யும் பக்தர்கள் மட்டுமே இந்த ஆண்டு சபரிமலையில் அனுமதிக்கப்படுகின்றனர்.

தமிழகம் முழுவதும் முருகன் கோவில்களில் கந்தசஷ்டி திருவிழா தொடங்கியது
முருகப்பெருமானின் அறுபடை வீடுகளில் இரண்டாம் படை வீடான திருச்செந்தூர் சுப்பிரமணிய சுவாமி கோவிலில் பிரசித்தி பெற்ற கந்தசஷ்டி திருவிழா யாகசாலை பூஜையுடன் தொடங்கியது.
சூரசம் ஹாரம் 9-ந்தேதி (செவ்வாய்க் கிழமை) நடக்கிறது. அதிகாலை 1 மணிக்கு கோவில் நடை திறக்கப்பட்டு, மதியம் விஸ்வரூப தரிசனம், உதய மார்த்தாண்ட அபிஷேகம், உச்சிகால அபிஷேகம், சாயரட்சை தீபாராதனை, மாலை 4.30 மணிக்கு சூரசம்ஹாரம் நடக்கிறது. 7-ம் திருவிழாவான 10-ந்தேதி இரவு திருக் கல்யாண வைபவம் நடக்கிறது. கொரோனா தடுப்ப நடவடிக்கையாக சூரசம்ஹாரம், திருக்கல்யாணம் நடைபெறும் 9 மற்றும் 10-ந்தேதிகளில் பக்தர்கள் செல்ல அனுமதி இல்லை. மற்ற நாட்களில் 10 ஆயிரம் பக்தர்கள் அனுமதிக்கப்படுவார்கள். திருவண்ணாமலை கார்த்திகை மகாதீப விழா: தேரோட்டம், கிரிவலம் ரத்து
திருவண்ணாமலை அருணாசலேஸ்வரர் கோவிலில் கார்த்திகை மகாவிழா உலக பிரசித்திப் பெற்றது. இந்த திருவிழா, காவல் தெய்வமான துர்க்கை அம்மன் உற்சவத்துடன் ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை இரவு தொடங்குகிறது.
விழாவின் முக்கிய நிகழ்வாக வரும் 19-ந்தேதி அதிகாலை 4 மணிக்கு மூலவர் சன்னதியில் பரணி தீபமும் மற்றும் 2,668 அடி உயரம் உள்ள அண்ணாமலை உச்சியில் மாலை 6 மணிக்கு மகா தீபமும் ஏற்றப்படுகிறது.
திருவண்ணாமலை அருணாசலேஸ்வரர் கோவிலில் கார்த்திகை மகாதீபவிழா நாட்களில், ஆன்லைன் மூலம் முன்பதிவு செய்தவர்களுக்கு மட்டுமே சாமி தரிசனம் செய்ய அனுமதிக்கப்படுவார்கள் என அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
மாட வீதியில் நடைபெறும் மகா தேரோட்டம், இந்தாண்டும் நடைபெறாது. அதற்கு மாற்றாக, கோவில் வளாகத்தில் உள்ள 5ம் பிரகாரத்தில் சாமிகளின் உலா நடைபெறும். கிரிவலம் நடைபெறாது
ஆண்டுதோறும் நடைபெறும் குதிரை சந்தை மற்றும் மாட்டு சந்தைக்கும் அனுமதி இல்லை.

Shankaracharya statue & Deepotsav at Ayodhya, giant strides towards cultural rejuvenation
Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Kedarnath on Friday and offered prayers at the Kedarnath Temple. He inaugurated Shri Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi and unveiled the statue of Shri Adi Shankaracharya.
The Samadhi has been reconstructed after the destruction in the 2013 floods. The entire reconstruction work was undertaken under the guidance of the Prime Minister, who constantly reviewed and monitored the progress of the project.
While offering prayers at Baba Kedarnath Temple in Uttarakhand and unveiling a 13-foot-tall statue of Adi Shankaracharya at his reconstructed samadhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Friday said
“Today our culture, our tradition, and religious centres are seen with the same sense of pride as they should have been seen. Today the temple of Lord Ram is being constructed with pride. Ayodhya is getting back its pride after centuries. Just two days ago a grand Deepotsava was organised and the entire world witnessed it.
Today we can imagine the ancient cultural form of India. In Uttar Pradesh, the beautification of Kashi (Varanasi) is also on. The work of Vishwanath Dham is on at a great pace and is near completion.

Brilliant fireworks display in Ayodhya and New York for Diwali
Hindus throughout the world are celebrating Diwali for five days. The festival which spans over 5 days, marking the triumphant return of Bhagwan Ram and Maa Sita to Ayodhya, denoting the victory of good over evil, has been celebrated with fireworks for centuries.
Continuing that legacy, brilliant firework displays were organized in places as wide apart as Ayodhya, Sri Rama’s birth place, and New York, USA.
Ayodhya was also illuminated on November 3 with nine lakh earthen lamps. Ram Ki Pauri was lit with innumerable oil lamps, laser shows and crackers on the occasion of Deepotsav.
This was the first time that New York City has hosted a Diwali fireworks show. Until now, the only approved fireworks event was the July 4th Independence Day.

US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have sent Diwali greetings to the people across the world.
The President posted on Twitter a picture of him lighting diyas (earthen lamps) along with First Lady Jill Biden at the White House.
In a joint statement, President Biden and First Lady Jill said in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s Diwali carries even a deeper meaning.
President Biden and Jill said they were grateful to those who celebrate in America for making the traditions of Diwali part of America’s story.

DEEPAVALI IN BRITAIN
THE DEEPAVALI EVENT BY HINDU FORUM OF BRITAIN WAS HELD ON 3RD NOVEMBER AS AN ONLINE EVENT. PRIME MINISTER BORIS JOHNSON and HOME MINISTER ( HOME SECRETARY) Ms PRITI PATEL spoke and conveyed Deepavali Greetings. They praised the Hindus for the work in the Anti Covid area.
Harrow MP Mr Bob Blackman, who is the head of Hindu Parliamentary group and a great supporter of India and Hinduism praised the work done by Indians. He said that he would visit 12 Hindu Temples in Britain in 24 hours during Deepavali Celebration.
Priti Patel said that she can’t compete with Bob, but visit a small temple with her mum and dad. Mrs Tripti Patel, President of HFB welcomed every one. Ms Reena Ranger presented the programmes. There were dance and music in between the greeting messages.

UK minister Rishi Sunak releases new Gandhi commemorative coin to mark Diwali
UK Chancellor Rishi Sunak unveiled a new 5-pound commemorative coin celebrating the life and legacy of Mahatma Gandhi to mark Diwali on Thursday.
Available in a range of standards, including gold and silver, the special collectors’ coin is designed by Heena Glover and features an image of a lotus, India’s national flower, alongside one of Gandhi’s most famous quotes – ‘My life is my message’.
“As a practising Hindu, I am proud to unveil this coin during Diwali. “Mahatma Gandhi was instrumental in the movement for Indian independence and it is fantastic to have a UK coin commemorating his remarkable life for the first time,” said the Indian-origin finance minister.
The commemorative Gandhi coin is said to build on the “enduring relationship and cultural connections” between the UK and India, as India celebrates its 75th year of Independence this year.
The 5-pound coin, which goes on sale on the UK Royal Mint’s website from this week, is part of Royal Mint’s wider Diwali collection, which includes 1-gram and 5-gram gold bars in henna-style packaging, and the UK’s first gold bar depicting Lakshmi – the Hindu goddess of wealth.
The 20-gram gold Lakshmi bar was designed in partnership with the Hindu community in South Wales, where the Royal Mint is based.

NEWS FROM ANDHRA PRADESH
This Diwali, tumblers of sand sell like hot cakes in
Karimnagar
For a few days, sand suddenly appeared to have become as precious a commodity as gold in Karimnagar town. As little as a single tumbler of sand was sold for Rs 10 during the Deepavali festival. In spite of the higher-than-usual rates, most sand sellers completely sold all their wares. It was the first time in the recent past that the sand was being measured in tumblers by some vendors.
The reason for the sudden surge in demand is locals using sand to conduct Kedari Nomulu, a traditional ritual wherein poojas are offered and lit earthern lamps are placed in sand. About 10 women vendors from rural villages registered brisk business in the town during the festival by selling tumblers of sand, along with other pooja materials like flowers and leaves.
During every Deepavali, women travel from rural areas come to Karimnagar town to sell various items used in poojas, including marigold flowers, lotus flowers, Banyan tree herbs and banana shoots.

TWO LAKH BANGLES FOR GODDESS KANAKA DURGA

Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam atop Indra keeladri IN VIJAYAWADA celebrated Gajula Mahotsavam, where the temple premises are decorated with over 2 lakh colourful bangles on the occasion of Karthika Suddha Vidiya and Yama Dwitiya on Saturday.
The temple was decorated with garlands of 200, 000 colourful bangles in the sanctum sanctorum.
Vedic committee member R Srinivasa Sastry said Gajula Mahotsavam is observed on the occasion of Yama Dwitiya, where Lord Yama, the God of death, visited his sister’s house three days after Diwali festival, and partook meals prepared by his sister and blessed her to live a long life with her husband. Hence, this day is regarded as Yama Dwitiya. “It has become a tradition for brothers to partake meals prepared by their sisters,” Vedic committee member R Srinivasa Sastry said.

He failed academically but become a freedom fighter, jailed with K Kamaraj and became News Editor , Dinamani Madurai. His name is V Santanam. He translated Anna Karenina of Leo Tolstoy in 1950s. His story is in this blog already. He led a successful life.

33.SPEED OF MIND-Mano Vega; EINSTEIN WRONG?

According to physicists, speed of light is the fastest thing in the universe. It is about 186,000 miles per second. If you could travel at the speed of light, you could travel around the Earth seven and a half times in a second.
The farthest spacecraft that humans have ever sent out into space, Voyager 1, is something like 20 light hours away from us. And it’s been traveling for over 40 years at like 10 miles per second. So it’s not that far in the grand scheme of things. It’s not like 1% of the speed of light with our spaceships. More like 0.001%.
But Hindus use one idiom as simile throughout the four Vedas and even in epics; that is SPEED OF MIND / THOUGHT.
No scripture in the world explains the power of mind like Hindu scriptures. But speed of light is concrete; we could see it. Speed of mind is abstract. Is it true? Is it practicable? Has anyone used it?
Hindus have been using it for Inter Galactic travel. It is shown in all Hindu feature films. Narada, the Inter Galactic Hindu messenger, appears in the sky from nowhere and in three dimensional view! Now all the science fiction TV serials copied it and they call it Tele Transportation. It is in all Hindu Books. I believe in it and use it every day!!!
Tamils Use it
Tamils also echoed it. Tiruvalluvar says in Tirukkural (Kural 1317, 1318,1203) when a lover sneezes, his lady love turns angry saying that some other girl is thinking about him or both of them think about one another. This is very common in Hindu houses. When the food goes into one’s wind pipe while eating, they say ‘Oh, XXX is probably thinking about you’. So our thoughts travel at the SPEED OF MIND. This cliché Speed of Mind is seen throughout the Rig Veda.
As a Brahmin who does Sandhyvandana (Sun- Water Prayer thrice a day), I invoke three goddesses from a mountain and say Good Bye when I finish it. And I say to her, ‘Please go back to the Hill Top where you reside’.
When I invoke the departed souls at least once a month (My father and Mother are no more) on the Dharba Grass spread in front of me in a brass or silver plate, I give water and sesame seeds. When I finish the rituals, I ask them Please bless us 100 year life and RETURN TO YOUR ABODE BY THE SAME GOOD PATH you used to come here. That means we expect them to come from heaven in the South via good path and return by the same route. All these happen in millions of Hindu homes every day. Though ‘Father in the Heaven’ is in Semitic religions too, Hindus believe that they can travel to you at a fraction of a second from heaven. It is even in famous Gajendra Moksha Story (Elephant caught by a crocodile is saved by Vishnu).
To cut it short , Hindus believe in what Einstein did not believe or did not deal with.
Rig Veda used the cliché MANO VEGAM-Speed of Mind. All the seers use it for speed. On a practical level they use VAAYU VEGAM/ speed of wind as well. When I speak to a layman, I can’t use science jargon and so I say speed of gusty wind.
It is amazing to see this Mano Vegam throughout the Vedas and other Hindu scriptures!
MY VIEWS
How did they do it? Like you see on TV Science fiction shows they become light and travel. All the science fiction writers copied it from Hindu books. Rig Veda talks about Gods in Light form. Throughout the Vedas we see it. DEVA means Light (Deity, Divine etc are derived from it) .
It is in Vanaparva of Mahabharata as well. When Arjuna was taken to Indra Loka (Heaven at a lower level) in a spaceship by Pilot Madhali, Arjuna asked him what were these light emitting stars that I see outside the space ship. Pilot of spaceship replies these are what people call STARS on earth, but they are holy souls. Now we know that even Egyptians followed Hindus when they built Pyramids with holes to see starts or travel to stars.
The answer for the question Is Einstein wrong? Is YES and NO.
Gods and ancestors travel at the speed of Thought, but Einstein did not say it. Perhaps the speed of Thought and Light is same. Or Thought can travel faster than light. Einstein did not THINK about this THOUGHT speed!
Practical use?
If you ask a school boy now ‘Can Man travel to Moon?’ He will say ‘Of course, we can travel to moon’. But in reality, a handful of men only did it in the past 50 years. That means VERY RARE. In the same way we read a lot of strange things in our Mythologies. They are not day to day events. They are remembered because they are rare. They survived for thousands of years and came to us because they are strange. It is like Guinness Book of Records!! Only rarer achievements are entered!
Last but not the least, to launch a space craft to Moon , space scientists have to do millions and millions of calculations. Nowadays computers do it. In ancient Vedic period, Rishis did it with intuition or Brain Computer. Now scientists see spaceships explode in the mid air or they are far far away from the target or destination. So you need to coordinate millions of things to succeed. It is very true with Hindu Miracles. Adi Shankara can bring a Shower of Gold Coins in a poor woman’s house (KANAKA DHARA STOTRA); Muthuswami Dikshitar can bring rain in dry area by singing Amirthavarshani Raga/tune.
Can we do the same by reciting or imitating the same sloka and same raga? Like space scientists’ million calculations you have to co ordinate a lot of things. First ‘Thri Karana Suddhi’. Purity in your Thought, Word and Deed! For a scientist to succeed in spaceship launch, Purity in Human calculations, Purity in Computer working and Purity in Weather Condition. Many of the space launches are postponed because of bad weather conditions!!

34.10 FINGERS= 10 SISTERS
Throughout the Rig Veda , all Rishis use the word Sisters for Fingers. When Soma Rasa (herbal elixir) is extracted, they use this cliché, Oh you come through Ten Sisters or with the help of Ten Sisters. We don’t know the significance of this expression now. But it shows unity in Vedic thought.
Many words in Vedas have double meaning. This confuses the translators. May be Rishis deliberately use the pun. One American half baked ‘scholar’ (?) say that Vedic Rishis did not know sea at all! Sindhu is river and not sea. He did not realise that a word can be used with different meanings. Other factors decide the exact meaning. If anyone opens old Tamil Dictionary, one can find 15 different meanings for one word!
Getting wrong meaning for a word (sometimes deliberately, wantonly), misled the world. Ayas is not just Iron. Asva is not just horse; Pasu is not just cow.
Tamils use PON for gold, iron and five other metals even today. Tamil poet used this Pon for gold and iron in the same book Tirukkural! Tamils use EIM PON (five gold= five metals) for many temple idols.
Vedic Rishis used Aditi (infinity or Mother of all Gods),Mitra (friend) Soma (herb, moon), Sindhu (sea, river) etc hundreds of times. For us the unity and continuity in such usage is amazing.

சரோஜா பட் தொகுத்த சுபாஷித சதகம் என்ற நூலிலிருந்து சில சுபாஷிதங்களைப் பார்த்தோம். இதோ இன்னும் ஐந்து சுபாஷிதங்கள் :-
குணைர்கௌரவமாவாதி நோச்சைராஸநமாஸ்தித: |
ப்ரஸாதஷிகரஸ்தோபி காகோ ந கருடாயதே ||
உயர்ந்த பதவியை அடைவதனால் மட்டும் ஒருவன் பெரியவன் ஆகி விட முடியாது. நல்ல குணங்களைக் கொண்டிருப்பதாலேயே பெரியவனாக முடியும். காக்கை ஒன்று உயரமான இடத்தில் அமர்ந்திருபப்தால் மட்டும் அது கருடனாகி விட முடியாது.
One becomes great by means of virtues not by occupying high seat. A crow sitting on the top of a place is not regarded as an eagle.
சூடான ஒரு மணல் குவியல் தரும் வெப்பத்தைச் சூரியனால் கூட தர முடிவதில்லை. இன்னொருவனால் ஒரு உயர்ந்த நிலையை அடைந்தவன் பொதுவாக சகிக்கப்பட முடியாதவனாக இருக்கிறான்.
Even the sun does not burn as much as the (heated) heap of sand. One who has attained a position because of another (person) usually becomes unbearable.

விக்ரீயந்தே ந கண்டாபிகவி: க்ஷீ ரவிவர்ஜிதா: ||
நல்ல குணங்களை அடைவதில் முயற்சி செய். மற்றவற்றை அடைவதால் என்ன பிரயோஜனம்? பால் சுரக்க முடியாத பசுக்களின் கழுத்தில் மணியைத் தொங்க விட்டு அடித்தாலும் அது விற்கப்பட முடியாது!
Make effort in (acquiring) virtues. What is the use of doing much ado? Cows devoid of milk cannot be sold off by tying bells (in their necks).

குணி குணம் வேத்தி ந வேத்தி நிர்குண:
பலி பலம் வேத்தி ந வேத்தி நிர்பல: |
பிகோ வஸந்தஸ்ய குணம் ந வாயஸ:
கரி ச சிம்ஹஸ்ய பலம் மூஷக: ||
நல்ல குணங்களைக் கொண்ட ஒருவனே இன்னொருவனின் நல்ல குணங்களை உணர்கிறான், அப்படி நல்ல குணங்களைக் கொண்டிராதவன் அல்ல! நல்ல பலம் கொண்ட ஒருவனே இன்னொரு பலசாலியின் பலத்தை அறிகிறான, பலம் இல்லாதவன் அறிவதில்லை. குயில் வஸந்தத்தின் வருகையை அறிகிறது, காக்கை அல்ல! யானையே சிங்கத்தின் பலத்தை அறிகிறது, சுண்டெலி அல்ல!
The meritorious alone recognizes the merit and not one who is devoid of merit. The powerful alone recognizes power (and) not one who is devoid of power. The cuckoo recognizes excellence of spring, not the crow. The elephant knows the prowess of a lion, not the mouse.

குணினி குணக்ஞோ ரமதே நாகுணஷீலஸ்ய குணினி பரிதோஷ: |
அலிரேதி வனாத்கமலம் ந தர்துரஸ்தன்னிவாஸோபி ||
நல்ல குணங்களைப் பாராட்டுபவனே நல்ல குணங்கள் கொண்டவரின் சேர்க்கையில் ரமிக்கிறான். நல்ல குணங்களை மதிக்காத ஒருவன் நல்ல குணங்களைக் கொண்டிருக்கும் ஒருவனிடம் சேர்ந்திருப்பதில் திருப்தி அடைவதில்லை. தேனியானது காட்டிலிருந்து தாமரையை நோக்கி வருகிறது, குளத்திலேயே வசித்தாலும் கூட தவளை தாமரையை நோக்கி வருவதில்லை.
One who appreciates virtues enjoys the company of a virtuous person. One who does not respect virtue is not satisfied in the company of a virtuous person. The bee comes from the woods to the lotus but not the frog, even if it stays there (i.e. in the same pond).
