Not many people know the Vedic Moon Goddesses Sinivali, Kuhu and Anumathi. People know only Chandra, the moon, in Hindu astrology. Not much research has been done about the Vedic Moon Goddesses.

But moon’s connection to mind is confirmed by Hindu scriptures and Shakespeare.

Hindu scriptures say four important things about moon. Science has confirmed a few Hindu predictions.

1.Hindus said Moon came from Ocean when it was churned by the Devas and Asuras. Science agreed with Hindus. There are a few theories about the origin of moon such as Sister Theory, Daughter Theory and Lover theory. Daughter theory agrees with Hindu literature. We said that moon came from earth, i.e from the ocean on earth. The diameter of Pacific Ocean and moon are almost same; So, it looks like a big chunk was thrown out of earth billions of years ago due to big collision of heavenly bodies.

Abja is one of the 20 Sanskrit words for moon in the Amarakosa, oldest thesaurus in the world.

One of the 14 objects or people that came out of the ocean when Demons and Devas churned the ocean is Moon. One scientific explanation is that moon went out of the earth during a big collision on earth. The scientists proposed this theory because the diameter of moon and Pacific Ocean are approximately same. So we can fit moon into the earth jigsaw puzzle.

2.Second point made by the Hindus about the mind and the moon. Purushasuktam verse in the Rig Veda, the oldest book in the world, linked Moon with Mind and Sun with Eyes. There is a belief all over the world that moon causes madness in people’s mind. English word Lunatic came from Lunar/Moon.

Shakespeare also says it in

Emilia

But now, my lord.109

It is the very error of the moon,110

Hindu astrology says moon is in charge of Mind.

Words such as Month/Maatha in Sanskrit/Mind are cognate words. Tamils also use the Sanskrit words Maatha, Manathu etc.

Hindus made two more predictions. Western astronomers may confirm it soon:

3.Mercury is the son of Moon: It is in Navagraha Stotra; a hymn on Nine heavenly bodies

4.Moon helps plants to grow.

It is in all Tamil and Sanskrit poems. Westerners think sun only helps the plants to make food and grow.

Hindus are superior to western astronomers, because Tamil and Sanskrit poets described the billions of galaxies and Black hole before the scientists knew about it.

So Hindu predictions will be confirmed by westerners soon

BBC Article –The mood-altering power of the Moon

The idea that the lunar cycle can influence people’s behaviour dates back thousands of years, but has been largely dismissed by modern medicine. But new research suggests there may be some truth to these ancient theories.

Here are a few points highlighted in the BBC article:

One recent study suggested that outdoor criminal activity may be higher when there is more moonlight

In theory, the light of a full Moon might disrupt people’s sleep, which could influence their mood

When people were exposed to magnetic field changes – equivalent to those we experience as we move around our local environment – they experienced decreases in brain alpha wave activity

Another possibility is that patients are responding to the Moon’s gravitational pull in the same way the oceans do: through tidal forces  —By Linda Geddes31st July 2019

Following is from my old article on Moon

1.It has influence over the growth of plants. Science has yet to approve it.

2.Moon has influence over human mind. Purusha Sukta of the Tenth Mandala of the Rig Veda links sun to eyes and moon to mind. Science has accepted it fifty- fifty. The word ‘lunatic’ for mad behaviour came from Lunar for moon. Some statistics prove strange behaviour among mentally sick patients.

3.Hindu hymns say that the Mercury (Budha) is the son of Moon (Soma). It is again a cosmological event. That is Mercury was formed because of Moon or from the Moon. Mercury is one of the smallest planets.

4.Hindus have used the word SOMA for a mysterious, rejuvenating, unknown plant and the Moon. The word confused everyone in the Vedas. It is still a mystery where they used it for moon and for the plant. Soma plant purifies a person’s mind where as narcotic drugs and alcoholic drinks spoil a person’s mind. Since Westerners have been using only the spoiling, bad drinks and drugs they couldn’t see anything good in the Soma plant. I have already explained about the Tamil Inscription’s description of a Brahmin as Mano Suddha Somayajee (More information is in my earlier post). Probably this is the reason Hindus linked moon with plant’s growth.

5. Rig Veda clearly said moon’s light is borrowed from the sun. So they knew it was the reflection of sun light like a mirror.

6.Hindus believe that moon came of milky ocean when it was churned by the Devas (angels) and the Asuras (demons). I have already explained the link between the Pacific Ocean and the Moon.

7. Vedic Hindu Schools don’t hold Vedic classes on New Moon, Full moon and Ashtami (eighth day from full or new moon) days. So do the Buddhists. Moon’s effect on sea on those days is well known. Since our body has 70% water they believed that the moon has same effect on human body.

தேவர்களுக்கும் அசுரர்களுக்கும் நடந்த சண்டையில் அசுரர்கள் அழிந்தார்கள். அது போல, கடவுளை சிறிதளவு எள்ளி  நகையாடினாலும் அழிவு நிச்சயம் .

கோவிலை அழித்தாலோ , பூஜைகளை நிறுத்தினாலோ நாட்டுக்கும் தலைவனுக்கும் அழிவுதான் மிஞ்சும்

தெளிவுறு ஞானத்துச் சிந்தையின் உள்ளே

அளிவுறு வார்அம ராபதி நாடி

எளியனென்று ஈசனை நீசர் இகழில்

கிளியொன்று பூஞையால் கீழது வாகுமே.- திருமந்திரம்

Those who have Jnana attained,
Rid of all doubts in their thoughts

Shall reach the World of Celestials;

Dangers of Destruction to Temple

கட்டுவித் தார்மதில் கல்லொன்று வாங்கிடில்

வெட்டுவிக் கும்அபி டேகத்து அரசரை

முட்டுவிக் கும்முனி வேதிய ராயினும்

வெட்டுவித் தேவிடும் விண்ணவன் ஆணையே. -திருமந்திரம்

As they move away,
A single stone from temple wall
That shall spell the Crowned King’s ruin;
Be he a sage, be he one learned in Vedas,
Sure the crisis; certain the ruin;
–So Ordained Lord.

Dangers of Skipping Performance of Puja

ஆற்றரு நோய்மிக்கு அவனி மழையின்றிப்

போற்றரு மன்னரும் போர்வலி குன்றுவர்

கூற்றுதைத் தான்திருக் கோயில்கள் எல்லாம்

சாற்றிய பூசைகள் தப்பிடில் தானே.– திருமந்திரம்

Rains fail; epidemics spread;
The mighty king his prowess loses;
All this sure happens,
If worship in Lord’s temples falters,
–The Lord who spurned the very God of Death.

அலகையா வைக்கப்படும் (குறள் 850)

உலக மக்கள் அனைவரும் உண்டு என்று சொல்லுவதை, ஒருவன் இல்லை என்று சொன்னால் அவனை மனித வடிவில் வந்த பேய் என்று கருதவேண்டும்.

மனுவும் தான் எழுதிய சட்ட நூலில் நாத்திகத்தை தாக்குகிறார்.

அறியாமையில் உழல்பவர்களுக்கு அறிவுரை பகராதே; தூங்குகின்றவர்களை தட்டி எழுப்பு. உத்திஷ்டத ஜாக்ரத பிராப்யவரான் நிபோதத எழுமின் விழிமின் குறிக்கோளை அடையும் வரை நில்லாது செல்மின்  என்ற  கடோபநிஷத் வாக்கியத்தையும் நினைவுபடுத்தும். ஆண்டாளும் இனித்தான் எழுந்திராய் ஈதென்ன பேருறக்கம்! என்று அல்லவா சொல்லி தட்டி எழுப்பினாள்!

உங்கள் குழந்தைகளை சாதனையாளர் ஆக்குவது எப்படி?

இளம் தாய்மார்களும் நடுத்தர வயது பெண்மணிகளும் தங்கள் குழந்தைகளையும் கல்லூரியில் படிக்கும் மாணவ, மாணவியரையும்,, ‘படம் வரையாதே, கதை கேட்காதே! டி.வி. பார்க்காதே, படி, படித்து முன்னேறு’ என்று எப்போதும் சொல்லிக் கொண்டிருப்பதால் குழந்தைகளை எரிச்சலடையச் செய்வதுடன் அவர்களே தங்கள் குழந்தைகளின் வளமான எதிர்காலத்தைத் தடுப்பதை அறியாமல் இருக்கிறார்கள்!

கற்பனை என்பது அற்புதமான ஒன்று! இளம் வயதிலேயே அவர்கள் போக்கில் மனச் சித்திரங்களை உருவாக்க விட்டுவிட்டால் அவர்கள் சிறந்த சாதனையாளர்களாக பிற்காலத்தில் உருவாவதோடு வகுப்பில் முதன்மை பெற்றவராகவும் வருவார்கள் என்பது கிரியேடிவிடி பற்றிய அறிவியல் ஆய்வுகளின் முடிவு!

பேப்பரையும், வண்ணத்தூரிகையையும், வண்ணங்களையும் தந்து குழந்தைகளை அவர்களின் படைப்புலகில் விட்டுவிட்டு அகன்று விட வேண்டும். நிஜத்தில் நாம் பார்க்கும் உருவங்களையும், விலங்குகளையும் போடுமாறு அவர்களை வற்புறுத்தக் கூடாது. தங்கள் கற்பனைக்கேற்ப உருவங்களையும், இயற்கைக் காட்சிகளையும் வரையும் அவர்கள் பிற்காலத்தில் பல்வேறு நிஜங்களைப் பார்க்கும் போது தங்கள் அனுபவத்தில் மெருகேற்றிக் கொள்வார்கள்.

‘கதை சொல்வது’ என்பது படைப்பாற்றலை மேம்படுத்தும் ஒரு அற்புத உத்தி! பல்வேறு நாடுகளுக்குச் சென்ற வீரர்களைப் பற்றிய வரலாறுகள்

எல்லா நாகரிகங்களிலும் உண்டு. அர்ஜுனனின் யாத்திரை, கலிவரின் யாத்திரை என கற்பனையைத் தூண்டிவிடும் வரலாறுகள் நூற்றுக் கணக்கில் இருக்கின்றன. மகாபாரதமும் ராமாயணமும் சுட்டிக் காட்டாத கற்பனையே இருக்க முடியாது!

அதேபோல ‘தொல்லைக்காட்சி’ என்று செல்லமாகத் திட்டப்படும் தொலைக்காட்சியில் விலங்குகள் பற்றியும், பல்வேறு நாகரிகங்கள், கண்டுபிடிப்புகள் பற்றியும் காண்பிக்கப்படும் டிஸ்கவரி சானல் நிகழ்ச்சிகளை, சீரியலை ஒதுக்கிவிட்டு குழந்தைகளுக்குப் போட்டுக் காண்பிக்க வேண்டும். திரைப்படங்களிலும் சாகஸம், துணிச்சலைக் காட்டும் அற்புதப் படங்கள் ஏராளம் உள்ளன. அவற்றைப் பார்க்க குழந்தைகளைத் தூண்ட வேண்டும்.

எந்த ஒரு தீமையிலும் ஒரு நன்மை இருக்கும். அதைக் கண்டு அதில் குழந்தைகளை ஈடுபடுத்தி விடலாம். தாழ்வு மனப்பான்மையை அகற்றி சாதனையாளர்களாகத் தங்கள் குழந்தைகளை உருவாக்குவது இளம் தாய்மார்களின் கையிலேயே உள்ளது.

கிரியேடிவிடி எனப்படும் படைப்பாற்றலையும், கல்வியையும் பற்றி ஆய்வு செய்துள்ள ஆய்வாளர்கள் சாண்ட்ரா டபிள்யூ ரஸ் மற்றும் ஜனஸ் சால்க் ஆகியோர் “குழந்தைகளின் கற்பனையும், அவர்களின் மனச் சித்திரங்களுமே அவர்களின் வருங்காலத்தை நிர்ணயிக்கின்றன” என்கிறார்கள்.

Swami Ranganathananda (15 December 1908 – 25 April 2005) was a speaker, writer and author of many famous books; he was the president of Sri Ramakrishna Mission. He travelled around the world giving lectures on philosophy.

In his talk on Kena Upanishad he said,

Man in spite of his obvious limitations, thinks too much of the strength and glory, but all this ends in death. If only he knew the One, the source of all strength, glory and excellence in man and nature, how blessed his life would be, and how fearless of death he would become! Life is trivial if it doesn’t overcome death in the knowledge of the deathless Self, the one Self in all.

This echoed in Shakespeare in his Measure for Measure (II.ii.119-24)

 But man, proud man,
 Dressed in a little brief authority,
 Most ignorant of what he’s most assured,
 His glassy essence, like an angry ape
150 Plays such fantastic tricks before high heaven
 As makes the angels weep, 

In moments of deep thoughtfulness, man feels within himself the presence of a power greater than his given self. He then learns to feel humility and to experience an elevation of spirit in that humility.

In his talk on Isa Upanishad he said,

Here is another beautiful epithet of the Atman (aatman): Kavih, the poet, the seer. He is the great poet, and the world is his poem, coming out in rhymes and verses. The word Kavih, poet, means not only one who composes verses, but one who is far seeing-kraanta darsi- as Sankaracharya puts it, one who has insight and can see and grasp the inner significance of things. The great poets of the world share this virtue with the Atman. Poetry brings a message from the heart of nature. What to the prosaic and humdrum mind may seem ordinary and insignificant, to the poet will be charged with meaning and significance. This thought has been neatly expressed in an English verse depicting the poetic vision of Shakespeare:

The poem hangs on the berry bush

When comes the poet’s eye;

The street begins to masquerade

When Shakespeare passes by.

Every act, every experience, every situation is full of poetic suggestion to a poet; his sensitive mind sees meaning and significance in them. There is no event or thing in nature which does not ensoul the Soul of the universe; the poet catches the divine pulsations of nature by momentary elevations to kinship with the divine Poet. The ordinary individual, on the contrary, sees only prosaic, discrete facts and events.

Fear of death, fear of life, and fear of being reborn, must give way to an all-round fearlessness. Weakness and cowardice are worse deaths than physical deaths. In the words of Shakespeare (Julius Caesar, II. ii. 32-33)

Cowards die many times before their deaths;

The valiant never taste of death but once.

Is there a philosophy which can generate and sustain such a spirit of valour, of heroism, capable of releasing vast stores of human energy? Yes, say the Upanishads; yes says the Gita and yes says Swami Vivekananda. It is the knowledge of the truth of the Atman, the immortal Self of man.

In his talk on Katha Upanishad he said,

The mood oof questioning comes to all people at some time or other in their lives. But the mood doesn’t stay; the pressures of external life drive it away and man continues his humdrum existence shut from the knowledge of the mystery which alone readers life meaningful and worthwhile. But if the mood stays, man becomes philosophical; he achieves spiritual depth. விசித்திர கோவில்! ஒரு புறம் பெருமாள்! மறுபுறம் மோகினி! ஜகன்மோகினி  கேசவர் கோவில்:  ஆந்திரத்தின் 108 புகழ்பெற்ற கோவில்கள்-30

ஆந்திரப் பிரதேசத்தில் ராஜ மஹேந்திரபுரம் /ராஜமுந்திரி அருகிலுள்ள ரயலி மஹாவிஷ்ணு-ஜகன்மோகினி கோவில் ஒரு விசித்திரமான– வேறு எங்கும் இல்லாத புதுமையான— கருங்கல் சிற்பம் உடைய கோவில் ஆகும் .

எங்கே உள்ளது?

ரயலி மஹாவிஷ்ணு-ஜகன்மோகினி கோவில்

ராஜமஹேந்திரபுரத்திலிருந்து 40 கி.மீ.

காகிநாடாவிலிருந்து 74 கி.மீ.

அமலாபுரத்திலிருந்து 34 கி.மீ.

கிழக்கு கோதாவரி மாவட்டத்திலுள்ள இந்த ஸ்தலம் கோதாவரி நதியின் உபநதிகளான வசிஷ்ட ஆற்றுக்குக்கும் ,கெளதமி ஆற்றுக்கும் இடையே இருக்கிறது.

என்ன அதிசயம் ?

கருங்கல்லிலான சிலையில் ஒரு புறம் மஹாவிஷ்ணுவும்/கேசவ சுவாமி,  மறுபுறம் ஜகன்மோகினியும் இருப்பது ஒரு அற்புதம் ஆகும். அதில் சிற்பியின் மகத்தான கைவண்ணத்தைக் காணலாம். சிலை மிகவும் பெரியது  சுமார் இரண்டு மீட்டர் உயரம் ! ஐந்து அடி உயரம் , மூன்று அடி அகலம்!

ஆணும் பெண்ணும் ஒரே கல்லில் எதிர் எதிர் புறம் இருக்கின்றன.

சங்கரநாராயணர், அர்த்த நாரீ ஸ்வரர் போன்ற சிலைகளில் ஒரே புறத்தில் ஆண் பெண் உருவங்கள் இருக்கும். இது அப்படியல்ல.

ஏன் இந்த வடிவம்?

தேவர்களும் அசுரர்களும் கடலைக் கடைந்து அமிர்தம் எடுத்த கதை தெரியாத இந்து இல்லை.அப்போது அசுரர்களை ஏமாற்ற மஹாவிஷ்ணு மோகினி அவதாரம் எடுத்தார். அவர் எடுத்த ஒரே பெண் வடிவ அவதாரம் மோகினி. அசுரர்கள் காம வயப்பட்டு அமிர்தத்தை இழந்தனர். சிவனை ஏமாற்றிய பஸ்மாசுரனை , மோகினி தனது தந்திரத்தால் அழித்தாள் ; சிவனுக்கு மோகினி மேல் காதல் ஏற்படவே ஐயப்பன் /சாஸ்தா பிறந்தார் . அந்த மோகினி இங்கே ஒரே கல்லிலான தத்ரூப சிற்ப  வடிவத்தில் உள்ளார்.

விக்ரமதேவன் என்ற மன்னர் கனவில் , விஷ்ணு வேண்டிக்கொண்டதன் பேரில் இங்கே கோவில் கட்டப்பட்டது . சிலையும், கனவில் கண்டபடி பூமிக்கு அடியிலிருந்து கிடைத்ததாக தல வரலாறு மொழிகிறது.

சிலையின் அழகு

கேசவ சுவாமி என்னும் மஹா விஷ்ணு நான்கு கைகளுடன் காட்சி தருகிறார். சங்கு சக்கரம் இரண்டு கைகளில்; மந்தர மலையும் கதையும் மேலும் இரண்டு கைகளில். .

சிலையின் மறுபுறத்தில் மோகினியின் உருவம் பெண்களுக்கே உரித்தான முடி அழகுடன் உள்ளார்

கேசவரைச் சுற்றி நாரதர், தும்புரு, கின்னர தேவர்கள், ஆதி சேஷன் ஸ்ரீதேவி பூதேவி உருவங்களையும் காணலாம்.

மேலும் ஒரு சிறப்பு

பெருமாளின் பாதங்களிலிருந்து எப்போதும் தீர்த்தம் வருகிறது. இதை கங்கை ஜலம் போல் புனிதமாகக் கருதி பகதர்கள் எடுத்துக் கொள்கின்றனர்.

கோவிலுக்குப் பழமையான வரலாறு இல்லை; சிலநூறு ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்னர் எழும்பிய கோவில் இது. 11ஆம் நூற்றா ண்டுக்குக் பின்னர் எழுந்த கோவில்; பழைய கோவில் இருந்த இடத்தில் புதிய கோவில் கட்டப்பட்டதாகத் தெரிகிறது.

உமா கமண்டலேஸ்வர  கோவில்

ஜகன் மோகினி  கோவிலுக்கு எதிரே சிவலிங்கம் காட்சி தரும் உமா கமண்டலேஸ்வர கோவில் இருக்கிறது.

கமண்டலத்துடன் சிவலிங்கத்தை பிரம்மா பிரதிஷ்டை செய்ததாக ஐதீகம். இங்கும் சிவலிங்கம் மீது தண்ணீர் அபிஷேகம் செய்தவாறு இருக்கிறது. ஒரு காலத்தில் காடுகளாக இருந்த இடத்தில் இந்தக் கோவில்கள் தோன்றியுள்ளன. அதில் கடவுள் மீதோ அல்லது பாதங்களிலிருந்தோ தீர்த்தம் வரும்படி செய்தது சிற்பிகளின் சிறப்பு, அவ்வாறு வரும் தண்ணீர் தேஙகாது மறைவதும் குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

மௌனத்தினால் ஏற்படும் நன்மைகள்

மௌனமாக இருப்பதன் மூலம் பல நன்மைகளை நாம் பெற முடிகிறது. அவையாவன:

1)      தெளிந்த மனநிலையை எப்போதும் தருகிறது

2)      தன்னை உணர வழி காட்டுகிறது

3)      மூளையை ஊக்குவித்துச் செயலாற்ற உதவுகிறது. மூளையில் நல்ல செல்களை வளர்ச்சி அடையச் செய்வதோடு நினைவாற்றலைக் கூட்டுகிறது.

4)      மனஇறுக்கத்தைப் போக்குகிறது.

மௌன விரதம்

மௌனமாக இருப்பதை எல்லா மதங்களும் ஊக்குவிக்கின்றன. இந்து மதத்தில் மௌன விரதம் ஒரு ஆன்மீக நெறியாகவே சொல்லப்படுகிறது.

தக்ஷிணாமூர்த்தி மௌனத்தினாலேயே அனைத்தையும் சனகர், சனந்தனர், சனாதனர், சனத்குமாரர் ஆகியோருக்கு விரித்து விளக்கினார் என்பதை அறிகிறோம். (குரோஸ்து மௌனம் வியாக்யானம்)

மௌனம் சக்தி வாய்ந்த விளக்கமாகும்.

கீதையில் மௌனம் வலியுறுத்தப்படுகிறது (அத் 17 ஸ்லோகம் 16)

மந: ப்ரஸாத: ஸௌம்யத்வம் மௌநமாத்மவிநிக்ரஹ: பாவஸம்ஸு²த்திரித்யேதத்தபோ மாநஸமுச்யதே ||

மன மகிழ்ச்சி, அமைதி,மௌனம்,தன்னைக் கட்டுதல், எண்ணத் தூய்மை ஆகிய இவை மனத் தவமெனப்படும்

சாணக்கியர்  தனது சாணக்ய நீதியில் எந்த ஒரு மனிதன் ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் மௌனத்தை அனுஷ்டிக்கிறானோ எவன் ஒருவன் இப்படி ஒரு வருடம் தொடர்ந்து செய்கிறானோ அவன் ஆயிரம் வருட காலம் சொர்க்கத்தில் போற்றப்படுவான் என்கிறார்.

மௌனத்தை விட அதிகப் பயன் தருமானால் மட்டுமே நீ பேசலாம் என்பது அருமையான ஒரு பழமொழி.

ஜைனம் போற்றும் மௌனம்

ஜைன மதத்தில் பெரியோர்கள் ஐந்து மஹாவிரதங்களையும் சாமான்யர்கள் ஐந்து அணுவிரதங்களையும் அனுஷ்டிக்கின்றனர். இதில்  உபவாசமும் மௌனவிரதமும் வலியுறுத்தப்படுகிறது. மார்கழி மாதம் மௌன ஏகாதசி என்ற நாளில் முழு நாளையும் மௌன விரத நாளாக அனைத்து ஜைனர்களும் அனுஷ்டிக்கின்றனர்.

மௌனத்தினால் வார்த்தைகள் அளந்து பேசப்படும் பழக்கம் ஏற்படுகிறது. ஆகவே நாளடைவில் வாயிலிருந்து வெளிவரும் வார்த்தைகள் ஒருவருக்கும் தீங்கு ஏற்படாதபடி நலனுக்காகவே வெளிப்படுவதாக ஆகிறது.

ஜென் குட்டிக் கதை

ஒரு ஜென் குட்டிக்கதை உண்டு.

ஜப்பானில் கியோஷி என்ற ஒரு சீடர் மலை ஒன்றின் உச்சியில் வசித்து வந்த ஹோஷின் என்ற ஒரு ஜென் மாஸ்டரை அணுகினார். தனக்கு உபதேசம் செய்யுமாறு அவர் மாஸ்டரைக் கேட்க மாஸ்டர் அவர் கண்களையே உற்று நோக்கினார். பின்னர்  தரையில் இருந்த ஒரு கல்லை ஒரு தட்டு தட்டினார். இது எழுப்பும் ஒலியைக் கேட்டாயா? என்றார் அவர். ஆம் கேட்டேன் என்றார் கியோஷி.

இப்போது மௌனத்தின் மொழியைக் கேள் என்றார் அவர். நாட்கள் ஓடின. மாதங்கள் ஆயின. மௌனம் எழுப்பும் ஒலி பற்றி அவர் சிந்தித்தார்.  நாளடைவில் நுட்பமான மாறுதல்கள் அவர் உடலிலும் உள்ளத்திலும் ஏற்பட ஆரம்பித்தது.  ஒருநாள் அருகிலிருந்த ஆறு ஒன்றில் ஓடும் நீரின் சலசலவென்ற ஓசையை அவர் கேட்டார்.

இயற்கையின் அந்த ஒலியில் அவர் மௌனத்த்தின் மொழியை உணர்ந்தார். அவர் உள்ளத்தில் ஏற்பட்ட அந்த மாறுதல் அவருக்கு ஒரு தெளிவைத் தரவே அனைவரும் அவரை நாடலாயினர்.

ஒரு நாள் கெஞ்சி என்ற ஒரு செல்வந்தர் அவரிடம் வந்து தன் இரு மகன்களும் போடும் சண்டைக்கு ஒரு தீர்வு தருமாறு கேட்டுக் கொண்டார்.

இருவரையும் தன்னிடம் வருமாறு அழைத்த கியோஷி ஒரு ஆற்றங்கரையில் இருவரையும் அமர்த்தினார்.  அங்கு மௌனமாக அமருமாறு அவர் சொல்ல முதலில் தயங்கிய இருவரும் பிறகு அப்படியே அமர்ந்தனர். தெள்ளிய ஆற்று நீர் ஓடிக் கொண்டிருந்தது. கொஞ்ச நேரம் கழிந்தது.

பின்னர் இருவரையும் ஒருவரோடு ஒருவர் பேசுமாறு கியோஷி பணித்தார். இப்போது அவர்கள் இருவரும் மற்றவர் கூற்றில் உள்ள உண்மையைத் தெளிவாகக் கண்டனர். உணர்ச்சிகள் தந்த கோபம் போய் உண்மையை அவர்கள் தெளிவாகக் கண்டவுடன் இருவரும் சமாதானமாகப் பேசி சண்டையை முடித்தனர். இந்த அதிசயமான மாறுதலைக் கண்ட செல்வந்தர் கெஞ்சி, தான் என்ன கைம்மாறை  மாஸ்டருக்குச் செய்ய வேண்டுமென்று கேட்டார்.

கியோஷியோ இந்த மௌனத்தின் மஹிமையை உலகெங்கும் பரப்புவதே அவர்கள் தனக்குச் செய்யும் கைம்மாறு என்றார்.

அவர்களும் அப்படியே செய்ய ஆரம்பித்தனர். கியோஷியின் இறுதி நாளில் அவர் மரணப் படுக்கையில் இருந்த போது அவரது இறுதி உபதேசத்தை அருளுமாறு அனைவரும் கேட்க அவர், “மௌனம் தரும் ஒலியைக் கேளுங்கள்; பிரபஞ்சத்தின் அறிவை அறிவீர்கள்” என்றார்.

புத்தரின் அருளுரை

புத்தர் ஒரு பௌர்ணமி அன்று பூரண ஞானம் பெற்ற நிலையில் அவர் மௌன நிலையை அடைந்தார்.  அனைத்து தேவதைகளும் அவரை அணுகி அருளுரை தருமாறு வேண்டின.

“அறிந்தவர்கள் ஏற்கனவே அறிந்து விட்டார்கள். அறியாதவர்கள் என் வார்த்தையினால் பயனடைய மாட்டார்கள். எங்கு சொற்கள் முடிகின்றனவோ அங்கு ஞானம் பிறக்கிறது” என்றார் அவர்.

உடனே தேவதைகள், “அது சரிதான். ஆனால் அறிந்தும் அறியாமலும் இடைப்பட்ட நிலையில் உள்ளவர்களுக்கு நீங்கள் உபதேச உரைகளை அருளுங்கள். அதுவே மௌனத்தின் பெருமையை அவர்களை உணரவைக்கும்“ என்றன. உடனே புத்தர் பேச ஆரம்பித்தார். அவர் பேசிய சொற்கள் மௌன நிலையை அடைவதற்கான உரைகளாக அமைந்தன.

அருளாளர்கள் போற்றும் மொழி

ஸ்வாமி விவேகானந்தர், மஹரிஷி அரவிந்தர் ஆகியோர் நீண்ட மௌன விரதத்தை அனுஷ்டித்து பெரும் ஆற்றலைப் பெற்று உலகத்திற்கு நல்கினர்.

ரமணரின் ஆற்றல்

மௌனத்தின் எல்லையற்ற ஆற்றலை உணர்த்தியவர் பகவான் ரமண மஹரிஷி. மௌனத்திற்குள் பிரபஞ்சமே அடங்கி இருக்கிறது என்றார் அவர். இதை அவர் நிரூபித்தும் வந்தார். அவரிடம் சந்தேக விளக்கம் பெற விரும்பி வருவோர் அவர் முன் அமர்ந்து தான் கேட்க விரும்பிய கேள்விகளை நினைத்தவுடனேயே, அதற்கான சரியான பதில்களை அவர்கள் உள்ளத்தில் உடனடியாகப் பெறுவது வழக்கம். இந்த அனுபவத்தைப் பலரும் குறிப்பிட்டிருக்கின்றனர்.

காந்திஜியின் மௌன விரதம்

மகாத்மா காந்திஜியும் கூட  மௌன விரதத்தை அடிக்கடி மேற்கொண்டார்.

தனக்கு ஏற்படும் பிரச்சினைகள் அனைத்திற்கும் தீர்வுகள் மௌன விரதத்தினாலேயே தனக்குக் கிடைக்கின்றன என்றார் அவர். தனது சுயசரிதத்தில் அவர் மௌனம் பற்றி நிறையவே எழுதி இருக்கிறார்.

மௌனம் என்பது வாழ்க்கை முறை

மௌனம் சர்வார்த்த சாதகம் (மௌனம் அனைத்தையும் சாதகமாக்க வல்லது) என்று பஞ்சதந்திரம் கூறுவது சத்தியமான மொழியாகும்.

வெறும் சொல்லடுக்குகளுக்கும் ஓசைக்கும் அப்பாற்பட்டது மௌனம். அது ஒரு வாழ்க்கை முறை. அதை நடைமுறைப்படுத்தும் போது நாம் அடையும் பேறை சொல்லாலும் ஓசையாலும் விளக்க முடியாது!

சான்றோர்கள், ஆன்றோர்கள் ஒரே மாதிரி சிந்திப்போப்பார்கள் என்பது முது மொழி; அது மட்டுமல்ல உண்மைக் கவிஞர்களுக்கு – உள்ளத்தில் ஒளி உண்டாயின் வாக்கினிலே ஒளிஉண்டாகும் என்பது பாரதியார் கண்ட உண்மை ;இதை அவரது பாடல்களிலும் வள்ளுவன் குறளிலும் , கம்பன் கவிதையிலும்; ரிக் வேத முனிவர்கள் வாக்கினிலும் காண்கிறோம். ஷேக்ஸ்பியர் நமக்கு 500 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்னர் வளைந்த கவிஞர்; நடக்க ஆசிரியர்; 37 நாடகங்களையும் நூற்றுக்கு மேலாண் அங்ககீழாக் கவிகளையும் இயற்றி இங்கிலாந்தில் இருந்து கொண்டு ஆங்கில மொழியின் புகழைப் பரப்பினார்; நம் நாட்டுக்கு கவிஞர்களையோ ஆளோ அவரை விட பல் நூற்று அல்லது பல ஆயிரம் ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன் வாழ்ந்தவர்கள். ஆனால் நாம் தமிழ் மொழியையு சம்ஸ்க்ருத மொழியையும் உலகம் முழுதும் பரப்பவில்லை; அதனால் நாம் புகழ் திக்கெட்டும் பரவவில்லை.நிற்க.

 இப்போதாவது அவர் 500 ஆண்டுக்கு முன் செப்பியதை நான் அதற்கு முன்னரே செப்பிவிட்டோம் ன்பதைப் பகர்வோம்; எல்லோருடனும் அதைப் பகிர்வோம் .

 குடி குடியைக் கெடுக்கும் என்பதை எல்லோரும் அறிவர் ; குடி குட்டி இரண்டும் வேண்டாம் என்று வள்ளுவன் சொல்லுவான்; மது, மாது ஆகிய இரண்டும் திருவை நீக்கும்

 இருமனப் பெண்டிரும் கள்ளும் கவறும்

திருநீக்கப் பட்டார் தொடர்பு.–குறள் 920

இருவகைப்பட்ட மனம் உடைய பொது மகளிரும், கள்ளும் சூதுமாகிய இவ் மூவகையும் திருமகளால் நீக்கப்பட்டவரின் உறவாகும்.

கோமாளி பதில்- மூழ்கிப்போனவன் போல கதைப்பான்; முட்டாள் ; பைத்தியக்கார பயல். ஒரு மொந்தை கூடினால் முட்டாள் ஆகிவிடுவான் ; இன்னும் ஒரு மடக்கு, பைத்தியம் ஆகி விடுவான் மூன்றாவது டோஸ் ; ஆள் முழுகிப்போவான்.

கம்ப ராமாயணத்தில் குடித்துக் கெட்டுப்போன சுக்ரீவனும் இதை யே சொல்லி அழுகிறான்

கம்பன் அதை சுக்ரீவன் வாயிலாக கிட்கிந்தாக் காண்டத்தில் வழங்கும் பாங்கு படித்துச் சுவைக்க வேண்டியது.

வஞ்சமும் களவும் பொய்யும் மயக்கமும் மரபில் கொட்பும்

தஞ்சம் என்றாரை நீக்கும் தன்மையும் களிப்பும் தாக்கும்

கஞ்ச மெல்லணங்கும் தீரும் கள்ளினால் அருந்தினாரை

நஞ்சமும் கொல்வதல்லால் நரகினை நல்காதன்றே 

பொருள்:-

குடித்தால் வஞ்சனை,  திருடுதல்,  பொய் கூறல், அறியாமை, மாறான கொள்கை, அடைக்கலம் அடைந்தோரை கைவிடுதல், செருக்கு,  ஆகியன வருத்தும். அதே நேரத்தில் தாமரை மகளும் (லெட்சுமி) நீங்கிவிடுவாள் நஞ்சைச் சாப்பிட்டால் உடல் மட்டும் அழியும். இதுவோ உடலையும் அழித்து ஆளை நரகத்திலும் தள்ளும்.

திருமந்திரத்தில் குறளும் கீதையும்

திரு மந்திரத்தில் ஏராளமான பாடல்களில் தமிழ் வேதமான  திருக்குறள் மற்றும்  பகவத் கீதை  கருத்துக்களை திருமூலர் புதைத்து வைத்துள்ளார்; இந்த மூன்று நூல்களையும் கற்றவர்களுக்கு,  உடனே அவைகளை ஒப்பிட்டு மகிழத்  தோன்றும் . ஞேயம் , ஞாதுரு போன்ற சொற்களை நம்ம்மில் பலரும் கேட்டிருக்கமாட்டோம். பகவத் கீதை பயின்றோருக்கு உடனே இவை நினைவுக்கு வரும். திருமூலர் அவைகளை எடுத்தாள்கிறார்.

திருவள்ளுவர் முதல் அருட்பிரகாச வள்ளலார் வரை தங்கள் பாடல்களில் ஸம்ஸ்க்ருத்ச் சொற்களை அள்ளித் தூவி இருக்கின்றனர். ஆகையால் எவரேனும் சம்ஸ்க்ருதம் வேண்டாம் என்று கிளம்பினால் அவர்கள் தெய்வத் தமிழை அழிக்கப் புறப்பட்ட ராட்சதர்கள் , அரக்கர்கள் என்பதை அறிய வேண்டும். இந்த எல்லா நூல்களும் வேதங்களைப் புகழ்ந்து பேசுகின்றன  இந்து மதத்தைக் காப்பாற்ற 3000 திருமந்திரப் பாடல்கள் கூட வேண்டாம். திருக்குறளின் அறத்துப் பாலும் பொருட்பாலும் மட்டுமே போதும் அல்லது பாரதியார் பாடல்கள்  மட்டுமே போதும்.

ஞாதுரு = காண்பவன் => ஆன்மா / சீவன்

ஞானம் = பெறும் அறிவு => சிவ ஞானம்

ஞேயம் = காணப்படும் பொருள் => சிவம்.

ஞேயத்தே நின்றோர்க்கு ஞானாதி நின்றிடும்

ஞேயத்தின் ஞாதுரு ஞேயத்தில் வீடாகும்

ஞேயத்தின் ஞேயத்தை ஞேயத்தை யுற்றவர்

ஆயத்தின் நின்ற அறிவறி வாறே.

(ப. இ.) திருவருள் துணையால் ஞேயமாகிய திருவடிப்பேற்றில் உறைந்து நின்றோர்க்கு, முற்றுணர்வாகிய சிவஞான முதலியன நிலை பெறும்.. ஆண்டவனை அடையும் நன்னெறியினைப்பற்றி வாழும் அறிவினை நல்கும் வாயிலினைப் பயப்பதாகும் அவ் வறிவுடையவரே சிறந்த நிறைந்த அறிவராவர்.

(அ. சி.) ஞேயத்தே நின்றோர்க்கு – மெய்ப்பொருளை ஆராய்வோர்க்கு. ஞேயத்தின்….வீடாகும் – மெய்ப்பொருளை அறிந்த ஆன்மாவின் அறிவே முத்தியைப் பயக்க உதவியாகும்.

ஜ்ஞேயம் தத் = அறியத் தக்க அது (பிரம்மம்)
பூ⁴தேஷு அவிப⁴க்தம் ச = உயிர்களில் பிரிவுபட்டு நில்லாமல்
விப⁴க்தம் இவ ச ஸ்தி²தம் = பிரிவுபட்டதுபோல் நிற்பது.
பூ⁴தப⁴ர்த்ரு = பூதங்களைத் தாங்குவது
ச க்³ரஸிஷ்ணு = அவற்றை உண்பது
ச ப்ரப⁴விஷ்ணு = பிறப்பிப்பது

உயிர்களில் பிரிவுபட்டு நில்லாமல் பிரிவுபட்டதுபோல் நிற்பது. அதுவே பூதங்களைத் தாங்குவது என்றறி; அவற்றை உண்பது, பிறப்பிப்பது.

கீதை – பதிமூன்றாவது அத்தியாயம்

நான் 1994-ம் ஆண்டில் படித்தபோது எடுத்து எழுதிய குறிப்புகளே இதுவரை எழுத உதவின. ஆராய்ச்சிக்கு எல்லையே இல்லை; எவ்வளவோ மந்திர,,தந்திர, எந்திரங்களை திருமூலர் குறிப்பிடுகிறார். அவைகளை உண்மையில் செய்வோர் இன்றும் இருப்பார்கள்; அவர்கள் அவைகளை விளக்குவதே முறை. எடுத்துக்காட்டாக அஷ்டமாசித்திகள், குண்டலினி சக்தி பற்றி எவர் வேண்டுமானாலும் எழுதலாம். அவைகளைச்  செய்யும் சக்தி படைத்தவர்கள் இருந்தால்தான் நாம் அதுபற்றிப் பேசலாம். அதுவரை அவைகள் பற்றிப் பெருமையாகப் பேசுவதில் பொருளே இல்லை.

குழந்தைகளும் ‘பெரிய யோசனை’ சொல்வார்கள்!

‘ஜர்னல் ஆஃப் கிரியேடிவ் பிஹேவியர்’ என்ற பத்திரிகை படைப்பாற்றலை, பயிற்சியினால் மேம்படுத்த முடியும் என்று தெரிவிக்கிறது. அறிவியல் பூர்வமாக 170 உத்திகள் படைப்பாற்றலை மேம்படுத்த உள்ளன என்கிறது அது!

இந்த உத்தியில் ஒன்று ‘ஐடியா ஜெனரேஷன் டெக்னிக்’ எனப்படும் புதிய யோசனையை உருவாக்குவது! இதை உங்கள் வீட்டுக் குழந்தைகள் செய்ய முடியும் என்று சொன்னால் ஏளனப் புன்னகை பலருக்குத் தோன்றினாலும் தோன்றக் கூடும்! ஆனால் ஸ்வீடன் நாட்டுக் குழந்தைகள் வாங்கிய மழைக்காடுகள் பற்றிய உண்மைச் சம்பவத்தைக் கேட்டால் ‘அட, அப்படியா’ என்று ஆச்சரியப்படுவீர்கள்.

ஸ்வீடன் கிராமப்புறப் பள்ளி ஒன்றில் ஒரு ஆசிரியை! அவர் பெயர் ஈனா கெர்ன்.  ஒரு நாள் பாடம் நடத்துகையில் தென் துருவப் பகுதியில் ரெய்ன் ஃபாரஸ்ட் எனப்படும் மழைக்காடுகள் அழிந்து வருகின்றன என்று கூறிய கெர்ன் அதனால் சின்னச் சின்ன மிருகங்கள் முற்றிலுமாக அழிந்து வருகின்றன என்றார். வகுப்பறையில் இருந்த அனேகம் குழந்தைகள் நாய், பூனை போன்ற வளர்ப்பு மிருகங்களை வளர்த்து வந்ததால் பெரிதும் கவலையுற்றனர். ‘மழைக்காடுகள் என்றால் என்ன? அதை நாங்கள் பார்க்க வேண்டும்’ என்று குழந்தைகள் அடம் பிடித்தனர்!

‘பெரியவர்களானவுடன் நீங்களே அதைப் பார்க்கலாம்” என்று கெர்ன் கூறிய போது, “அதற்குள் மிருகங்கள் இறந்து விடும் என்கிறீர்களே” என்றனர் குழந்தைகள்.

இந்த நிலையில் தான் ஒரு குழந்தை எழுந்து, “அந்தக் காடுகளை நாமே வாங்கி விட்டால் என்ன? அப்போது அதை யாராலும் அழிக்க விடாமல் செய்யலாமே” என்று கூறியது.

இன்னொரு ஆசிரியையாக இருந்தால் இந்த யோசனையைக் கேட்டு சிரித்து இருப்பார். கெர்ன் அப்படி இல்லை! அவர்களை ஊக்கப்படுத்தினார்.

குழந்தைகள், மழைக்காடுகள் வாங்க எவ்வளவு பணம் வேண்டும், ஒரு இடத்தை வாங்குவது என்றால் என்னென்ன செய்ய வேண்டும் என்றெல்லாம் கேள்விகள் கேட்கத் தொடங்கினர்! எல்லாவற்றையும் விளக்கினார் கெர்ன்.

எல்லாக் குழந்தைகளும் உற்சாகமாகப் பணியைத் தொடங்கினர். சின்னச் சின்ன எக்ஸிபிஷன்கள், குதிரை ஓட்டம், நாய் ஓட்டப் பந்தயம், முயல்கள் கலந்து கொண்டு தாண்டி ஓடும் ரேஸ் என்று பல சிறுசிறு நிகழ்வுகளை ஏற்பாடு செய்து பணம் சேர்க்க ஆரம்பித்தனர். இந்தச் செய்தி மெதுவாக நாடெங்கும் பரவியது. ஸ்வீடனின் அனைத்துப் பள்ளிகளும் இதில் ஈடுபட்டன. ஒரு புதுப்பாடல் உருவாக்கப்பட்டது.

“ஆஹா, அற்புதமான

மழைக்காடுகளே!

நீங்கள் ஏன் அழிய

வேண்டும்?

எல்லா உயிரினங்களுக்கும்

நீங்கள் தேவை

நாங்கள் அழிவைத்

தடுப்போம்!

நீங்கள் துண்டிக்கப்படக்

கூடாது!

எங்களுக்கு நீங்கள் தேவை!

முதலில் ஒரு சிறு பகுதியை மட்டும் வாங்குவதாக இருந்த குழந்தைகள் பல நாடுகளிலிருந்து ஆதரவு குவியவே மழைக்காடுகளையே வாங்குமளவு பணத்தைச் சேர்த்தனர்!

ஸ்வீடன் தேசத்து அரசர் அந்தப் பள்ளிக்கு நேரடியாக வந்து குழந்தைகளைப் பாராட்டினார்!

உங்களுக்கு ஒரு பிரச்சினை என்றால் அதைத் தீர்க்க குழந்தைகளிடம் வழி கேளுங்கள் என்கிறார் கெர்ன்!

Dr S Radhkrishnan on Plato, Socrates and Bhagavad Gita :– Part 2 (Post No.13,638)

Dr S Radhkrishnan, world renowned philosopher and former President of India in his book Bhagavad-Gita, year 1948, made the following comments :

Sloka BG 1-12

तस्य संजनयन्हर्षं कुरुवृद्धः पितामहः ।

सिंहनादं विनद्योच्चैः शङ्खं दध्मौ प्रतापवान्  ॥१-१२॥ 1.12

tasya sañjanayan harṣaṃ kuruvṛddhaḥ pitāmahaḥ
siṃhanādaṃ vinadyocchaiḥ śaṅkhaṃ dadhmau pratāpavān 1.12

1.12: The valiant Bhishma, the elder of the Kurus and the grandfather, roared like a lion and blew his conch loudly to cheer up Duryodhana.

Dr S Radhkrishnan: With him and others, loyalty to duty counted far more than individual conviction. Social order generally depends on obedience to authority. Did not Socrates tell Crito  that he wouldn’t break the laws of Athens  which brought him up, guarded and watched over him ?

(Here Dr R compares Bhishma with Socrates. Both knew the Government is wrong but obeyed to it.)

Sloka BG 2-25

अव्यक्तोऽयमचिन्त्योऽयमविकार्योऽयमुच्यते |
तस्मादेवं विदित्वैनं नानुशोचितुमर्हसि ||2- 25||

avyakto ’yam achintyo ’yam avikāryo ’yam uchyate
tasmādevaṁ viditvainaṁ nānuśhochitum arhasi

The soul is spoken of as invisible, inconceivable, and unchangeable. Knowing this, you should not grieve for the body.

Dr S Radhkrishnan:  Arjuna’s grief is misplaced as the self cannot be hurt or slain. Forms may change; things may come and go but that which remains behind them all is for ever.

When Crito asks “in what way shall we bury you, Socrates ?

Socrates answers: In any way you like, but first you must catch me, the real me. Be of good cheer , my dear Crito , and say that you are burying my body only and do with that whatever is usual and what you think best.

Sloka BG 6-10

योगी युञ्जीत सततमात्मानं रहसि स्थित: |
एकाकी यतचित्तात्मा निराशीरपरिग्रह: ||6- 10||

yogī yuñjīta satatam ātmānaṁ rahasi sthitaḥ
ekākī yata-chittātmā nirāśhīr aparigrahaḥ

Those who seek the state of Yog should reside in seclusion, constantly engaged in meditation with a controlled mind and body, getting rid of desires and possessions for enjoyment.

Dr S Radhkrishnan:  Plato’s Meno begins with the question Can you tell me, Socrates, is virtue to be taught? The answer of Socrates is virtue is not taught but recollected. Recollection is a gathering of one’s self together, a retreat into one’s soul. The doctrine of Recollection suggests that each individual should enquire within himself. He is his own centre and possess the truth in himself. What is needed is that he should have the will and the perseverance to follow it up. The function of the teacher is not to teach but to help to put the learner in possession of himself.

Sloka BG 6-28

युञ्जन्नेवं सदात्मानं योगी विगतकल्मष: |
सुखेन ब्रह्मसंस्पर्शमत्यन्तं सुखमश्नुते ||6- 28||

yuñjann evaṁ sadātmānaṁ yogī vigata-kalmaṣhaḥ
sukhena brahma-sansparśham atyantaṁ sukham aśhnute

The self-controlled yogi, thus uniting the self with God, becomes free from material contamination, and being in constant touch with the Supreme, achieves the highest state of perfect happiness.

Dr S Radhkrishnan: 

brahma-sansparśham– contact with the Eternal. God is no more a rumour, a vague aspiration, but a vivid reality with which we are in actual contact.  Religion is not a matter of dialectic but a fact of experience. Reason may step in and offer a logical explanation of the fact but the reasoning becomes irrelevant, if it is not based on the solid foundation of fact.

Besides these facts of religious experience are universal in space and in time. They are found in different parts of the world and different periods of history, attesting to the persistent unity and aspiration of the human spirit. The illuminations of the Hindu and the Buddhas seers, of Socrates and Plato , of Philo and Plotinus , of Christian and Muslim mystics , belong to the same family, though the theological attempts to account for them reflect the temperaments of the race and the epoch.

Sloka BG 14-4

सर्वयोनिषु कौन्तेय मूर्तय: सम्भवन्ति या: |
तासां ब्रह्म महद्योनिरहं बीजप्रद: पिता || 14- 4||

sarva-yoniṣhu kaunteya mūrtayaḥ sambhavanti yāḥ
tāsāṁ brahma mahad yonir ahaṁ bīja-pradaḥ pitā

14-3/4 The total material substance, prakṛiti, is the womb. I impregnate it with the individual souls, and thus all living beings are born. O son of Kunti, for all species of life that are produced, the material nature is the womb, and I am the seed-giving Father.

Dr S Radhkrishnan:  God has an eternal vision of creation in all its details.  Whereas in Socrates and Plato,  ideas and matter are conceived as  a dualism, where the subtle worlds of ideas and the gross world of matter is difficult to understand, in the Gita , the two are said to belong to the Divine. God himself incarnates the seminal ideas in the forms of the gross world. These seminal ideas which have a divine origin, which belong to the casual Logos are the explanation of our love for God.

Sloka BG 18-24

यत्तुकामेप्सुना कर्म साहङ्कारेण वा पुन: |
क्रियते बहुलायासं तद्राजसमुदाहृतम् || 18-24||

yat tu kāmepsunā karma sāhankārena vā punaḥ
kriyate bahulāyāsaṁ tad rājasam udāhṛitam

Action that is prompted by selfish desire, enacted with pride, and full of stress, is in the nature of passion.

Doing unpleasant things from a sense of duty, feeling like unpleasantness all the time is of the nature of “passion”., but doing it gladly in utter unself-consciousness , with a smile on the lips, , as socrate drank hemlock, is of the nature of “goodness” it is the difference between an act of love and an act of law, an act of grace and an act of obligation.
