லண்டனிலிருந்து திங்கள்தோறும் இந்திய நேரம் மாலை 6.30க்கு ஒளிபரப்பாகும் ஞானமயம் நிகழ்ச்சியில் 5-4-2021 அன்று ஒளிபரப்பான ஹிந்து மதம் பற்றி மேனாட்டார் வியந்து பாராட்டியுள்ள ஹிந்து மஹிமை பற்றிய இரண்டாம் உரை!

ஹிந்து மஹிமை -2

அன்பார்ந்த தமிழ் நெஞ்சங்களே, சந்தானம் நாகராஜன் வணக்கம்.

காலம் காலமாக இந்தியா முழுதும் பயணித்த ஏராளமான வெளிநாட்டு அறிஞர்களும் யாத்ரீகர்களும் தேர்ந்தெடுத்த சொற்களால் பாரதத்தைப் போற்றிப் புகழ்ந்து வந்துள்ளனர்.

அப்துல்லா வஸாஃப் என்ற பதினான்காம் நூற்றாண்டு யாத்ரீகர், இந்தியாவைப் பற்றிக் கூறுகையில், அதன் புழுதி காற்றை விடத் தூய்மையானது, அதன் காற்றோ தூய்மையை விடத் தூய்மையானது. இந்தியாவே சொர்க்கம் என்பது உறுதி. ஆச்சரியப்படாதீர்கள், சொர்க்கத்தைக் கூட அதற்கு ஒப்பிட்டுக் கூற முடியாது என்கிறர்.

The historian Abdullaa Wassaf, writing in the 14th  century A.D. says of India in his history, Taziyatul Amsar : “India, according to the concurrent opinion of all writers, is the most agreeable abode on earth and the most plesant quarter of the world. Its dust is purer than air and its air is purer than purity itself; Its delightful plains resemble the garden of paradise:

If its is asserted that Pardise is in India,

Be not surprised, because Paradise itself is not comparable to it.”  – Elliot’s History of India Vol III p 28-29

    கி.பி. 1017இல் இந்தியா வந்த இஸ்லாமிய யாத்ரீகரான அபூ இராய்ஹான் முகம்மத் இபின் அகமத் அல்-பிரூனீ,  “அவர்களிடம் புராணம் இருக்கிறது” என்று வியந்து கூறுகிறார்; கூவுகிறார். புராணங்களைப் பார்த்த அவர் அதில் எல்லாம் இருப்பதைக் கண்டு ஆச்சரியத்தின் எல்லைகே சென்று விட்டார்.

    அமெரிக்காவில் கன்கார்ட் நகரில் 1817 ஆம் ஆண்டு பிறந்த ஹென்றி டேவிட் தோரோ ஹிந்து மதத்தின் பால் பற்றும் மதிப்பும் கொண்டவர். மறுபிறப்பு பற்றிய நம்பிக்கை கொண்டவர் அவர்.  அவர் கீதையைப் பற்றிக் கூறுகையில், அது இந்தக் காலத்திற்கேற்ற மாபெரும் கண்டுபிடிப்பு என்று கூறுகிறார். அத்துடன் தினமும் தான் கீதையின் தத்துவத்தில் குளிப்பதாகக் கூறுகிறார்.

He looked upon the Gita as the greatest discovery of the age. Thoreau says “In the morning I bathe my intellect in the stupendous and cosmogonal philosophy of the Bhagavad Gita since whose composition years of the gods have elapsed, and in comparison with which our modern world and its literature seem puny and trivial”.

    பிரம்மஞானசபையைச் சேர்ந்த அன்னிபெஸண்ட் அம்மையார், “ உலகின் மகத்தான  மதங்களை எல்லாம் நாற்பது ஆண்டுகளாக ஆராய்ச்சி செய்த பிறகு இதைச் சொல்கிறேன். ஹிந்து மதத்தைக் காட்டிலும் முழுமையான, விஞ்ஞான பூர்வமான,தத்துவார்த்தமான, ஆன்மீகமான  ஒரு மதம் வேறு எதுவும் இல்லை. ஹிந்து மதம் இல்லாமல் இந்தியாவிற்கு எதிர்காலம் கிடையாது என்பதில் சந்தேகமில்லை” என்கிறார்.

    கீதை பற்றி அமெரிக்கரான எமர்ஸன் வியந்து பாராட்டுகிறார் இப்படி:

“ஒரு மகத்தான நாளில் நான் பகவத் கீதையைப் படித்தேன். எல்லா நூல்களையும் விட தலை சிறந்த நூல் அது. ஒரு பேரரசன் நம்மிடம் பேசுவது போல உள்ளது. அருகதையற்ற எந்த விஷயத்தையும் பற்றி அது பேசவில்லை. மாறாக, சாந்தமான, சீரான குரலில் வேறொரு யுகத்தின் வேறொரு சூழலின் ஞானத்தை அது வழங்குகிறது. இன்றும் நம் முன்னர் இருக்கும் பல கேள்விகளுக்கு அது விடை அளிக்கிறது” என்கிறார் அவர்.

     ஒரு சுவையான குட்டிச் சம்பவம். ஆனால் மிகவும் அரிதான செய்தியை அது தருகிறது.

தேசிகாச்சார் என்று ஒரு எழுத்தாளர். அவர் Weapons in Ancient India என்ற ஒரு சிறு புத்தகத்தை எழுதினார். அதில் ஹிந்துக்கள் எப்படி ராக்கெட்டுகளை அமைத்தனர், அவர்களது உக்ரமான அஸ்திரங்கள் எப்படி இருந்தன என்பதை நன்கு விளக்கியிருந்தார்.

இந்த புத்தகம் இந்தியாவிலிருந்து ஹார்வர்ட் யுனிவர்ஸிடிக்குப் பயணித்தது. அந்தப் பல்கலைக் கழகத்தில்  ஆயிரத்து தொள்ளாயிரத்து இருபதுகளில் பிரபல விஞ்ஞானியும் அணுகுண்டின் தந்தை என்று போற்றப்படுபவருமான ராபர்ட் ஓப்பன்ஹீமர் மாணவராகப் படித்து வந்தார். அவர் இந்தப் புத்தகத்தைப் படித்து வியந்தார். இப்படி எல்லாம் ஆயுதங்கள் உண்டா என வியந்தார்.  அவரது விஞ்ஞான பூர்வமான மனம் அதில் லயித்தது. அந்த நூல் அவருக்கு உத்வேகம் ஊட்டியது!

1945ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜூலை மாதம் 16ஆம் தேதி இரண்டாம் உலக மகா யுத்தத்தில் வெற்றி பெற அமெரிக்கா அணுகுண்டை வெடித்துப் பார்க்கும் சோதனையை நிகழ்த்தியது. அதைத் தயாரித்தவர் ராபர்ட் ஓப்பன்ஹீமர் தான். கீதையின் பால் பெருமதிப்பு கொண்டவர் அவர். சம்ஸ்கிருதமும் அவருக்குத் தெரியும். நியூ மெக்ஸ்கிகோ பாலைவனத்தில் யாரும் இல்லாத  தனித்த ஒரு இடத்தில் அலமொகொர்டொ (Alamogordo) என்ற இடத்தில் இந்த முதல் சோதனை நிகழ்த்தப்பட்டது. இந்த சோதனையின் பெயர் Trinity. அதாவது படைப்புக் கடவுளான பிரம்மா, காக்கும் கடவுளான விஷ்ணு, அழிக்கும் கடவுளான சிவன் ஆகிய முப்பெரும் மூர்த்திகளை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்ட பெயர் தான் டிரினிடி!

தேசிகாச்சார் மற்றும் ராபர்ட் ஓப்பன்ஹீமர் பற்றிய இந்த விவரங்களை எல்லாம் சார்லஸ் பெர்லிட்ஸ் (Charles Berlitz B: 23-11-1913 D : 18-12-2003) என்ற அமெரிக்க எழுத்தாளர் தனது நூல்கள் ஒன்றில் கூறுகிறார். இதை ஹிந்து டெஸ்டினி இன் நாஸ்ட்ரடாமஸ் (Hindu Destiny in Nostradamus)என்ற தனது நூலில் பெங்களூரைச் சேர்ந்த G. S ஹிரண்யப்பா விவரிக்கிறார். ஆகவே தான் இந்தச் செய்தி  நமக்குத் தெரிய வருகிறது.

அணுகுண்டு வெடிக்கப்பட்டவுடன் அவர் திகைத்தார்; பிரமித்தார். கீதையில் பதினொன்றாம் அத்தியாயத்தில் 12வது ஸ்லோகமாக வரும்

திவி சூர்ய சஹஸ்ரஸ்ய பவேத் யுக பதுத்திதா |

யதி பா சத்ருஸீ ஸா ஸ்யாத் பாஸஸ்தஸ்ய மஹாத்மன: ||

என்பதை அவர் உரக்க உச்சரித்தார்.

ஆகாயத்தில் ஆயிரம் சூரியர்களுடைய ஒளியானது ஒரே காலத்தில் கிளம்பினால் அது அந்த  மஹாத்மாவினுடைய ஒளிக்குச் சமமாக இருக்கும் என்பது இதன் பொருள்.

 “காலோஸ்மி” என்ற 11வது அத்தியாய 32வது ஸ்லோகமும் அவர் நினைவுக்கு வந்தது. உலகத்தை அழிக்கும் காலன் நான் என்பது இதன் பொருள்!

      The Serpent Power  என்ற புத்தகத்தை எழுதிப் புகழ் பெற்ற சர் ஜான் உட் ராஃப் பற்றி நாம் நன்கு அறிவோம். ஆர்தர் ஆவலான் என்ற பெயராலும் இவர் அறியப்படுவார். (Sir John Woodroffe (1865-1936) Arthur Avalon) இவருக்கு எப்படி சக்தி, சாக்தம், குண்டலினி சக்தி ஆகியவற்றில் ஈடுபாடு வந்தது என்பது பற்றிய ஒரு சுவையான சம்பவம் உண்டு. அவர் இங்கிலாந்தில் ஆக்ஸ்போர்ட் பல்கலைக் கழகத்தில் படித்தவர். கல்கத்தாவில் ஹைகோர்ட் நீதிபதியாகவும் கல்கத்தா பல்கலைக் கழகத்தில் சட்ட இயலில் பேராசிரியராகவும் பணியாற்றியவர். ஒரு நாள் கல்கத்தா நீதி மன்றத்தில் அவரால் ஒரு கேஸ் பற்றி முழு மனதுடன் சிந்திக்க முடியவில்லை. எவ்வளவோ முயன்று பார்த்தார், முடியவில்லை. அப்போது அவரது பணியாளர்களுள் ஒருவர் இதற்கான காரணம் வெளியிலே கோர்ட் படிக்கட்டில் ஒரு சாது மந்திரங்களை இந்த கேஸின் வாதிக்காக உச்சரிப்பது தான் என்றார். திகைத்துப் போன அவர் அந்த சாதுவை அங்கிருந்து உடனே அகற்றுமாறு பணித்தார். சாதுவும் அகன்றார். உடனேயே அவரால் கேஸ் பற்றி நன்கு தீர்க்கமாக எண்ண முடிந்தது. ஆச்சரியப்பட்டுப் போன அவர் மந்திரங்கள் பால் ஈர்க்கப்பட்டு அவற்றைப் பற்றி படிக்கலானார். சக்தி வழிபாட்டில் ஈடுபடலானார். இதை ஜான் மம்ஃபோர்டு  (John Mumford) என்பவர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

        பிரபல விஞ்ஞானியான கார்ல் சகன், காஸ்மாஸ் தொடரை எடுத்துப் பெரும் புகழ் பெற்றவர். பிரபஞ்சத்தின் வயதை எந்த மதம் துல்லிய்மாகச் சொல்கிறது என்று தனது தொடருக்காக ஒரு ஆய்வை அவர் மேற்கொண்டார். அறிவியல் கூறும் அதே வயதை மற்ற மதங்கள் கூறாத போது ஹிந்து மதம் மட்டும் கூறுவதைக் கண்டு பிரமித்த அவர், பிரபஞ்சத்தின் ஆடலைச் செய்பவன் ஆடல் வல்லானான நடராஜர் என்றும் அவர் சிதம்பரத்தில் கோயில் கொண்டுள்ளதாகவும் அறிந்து உடனே ஓடோடி சிதம்பரம் வந்தார். நடராஜரைப் பற்றி நன்கு அறிந்து அதிசயித்து அவரைத் தன் காஸ்மாஸ் தொடரில் பிரபஞ்சம் பற்றிக் கூறும் எபிசோடில் முகப்பில் காட்டி மகிழ்ந்தார். அவருடன் கூட வந்த அவரது மனைவி சிதம்பரம் அருகே ஒரு இடத்தில் தாமரைக் குளம் ஒன்றைக் கண்டு வியந்தார். அடடா! என்ன அழகான தாமரை மலர்கள். இப்படிப் பூத்து இருக்கின்றனவே என்று கூவி மகிழ்ந்தார். அங்கு அப்போது ஒரு சிறு பையன் அவரது மகிழ்ச்சியை அவரது முக பாவத்திலிருந்து தெரிந்து கொண்டான். மொழி தெரியாத சிறு பையன் என்றாலும் கார்ல் சகனின் மனைவி தாம்ரை மலர்களைப் பார்த்து சந்தோஷப்படுவதைக் கண்டு குளத்திலே குதித்தான். கார்ல் சகனின் மனைவி பயந்து போனார். ஆனால் நடுக்குளத்திற்கு நீந்திச் சென்ற அந்தச் சிறுவன் ஒரு அழகிய பெரிய தாமரை மலரைப் பறித்து வந்து அவரிடம் கொடுத்து பவ்வியமாக குனிந்து வணக்கம் செலுத்தினான். அசந்து போன அவர் இந்தியப் பண்பாட்டைக் கண்டு மிகவும் நெகிழ்ந்து போனார். அவர் வாழ்நாள் முழுவதும் மறக்க முடியாத சம்பவமாக அது அமைந்தது.

          The Tao of Physics என்ற நூலை எழுதி உலக்ப் புகழ் பெற்ற விஞ்ஞானி ஃபிரிட்ஜாப் காப்ராவும் சிதம்பர நடராஜரின் ஆட்டத்தை அணுத்துகள் ஆட்டத்துக்கு ஒப்பிட்டுத் தனது நூலில் வியக்கிறார்.

        பிரபல விஞ்ஞானியான ஷோப்பன்ஹோவர் உபநிஷதங்களைப் படித்து மெய் சிலிர்த்தார். அவர் கூறுகிறார்:

“From every sentence (of the Upanishads) deep, original and sublime thoughts arise, and the whole is pervaded by a high and holy and earnest spirit. In the whole world there is no study except that of the originals, so beneficial and so elevating as that of Upanishads.”

“They are the products of the highest wisdom. It is destined sooner or later to become the faith of the people.”

     உலகின் தலை சிறந்த ஞானத்தை அளிக்கும் உபநிடதங்கள் வெகு விரைவில் உலக மக்களின் இறைநம்பிக்கையாக ஆகி விடும் என்கிறார் இப்படி அவர்!

      சகோதரி நிவேதிதா இந்தியா உன்னதம் அடையத் தன் வாழ்க்கையை முற்றிலுமாக அர்ப்பணித்தவர். பிரான்ஸிஸ் ஆஃப் அஸிஸியின் பக்தி, அபிலார்டின் புத்தி கூர்மை மார்டின் லூதர்கிங்கின் வலிமை மற்றும் சுதந்திரம், இக்னாஷியஸ் லோயொல்லாஸின் அரசியல் திறன் ஆகியவற்றைக் குறிப்பிட்ட அவர் ஆனால் இந்த அனைத்தும் எப்படி ஒரே ஒரு மனிதரிடம் ஒன்று சேரந்தது என்று வியக்கிறார். அவர் வியக்கும் உன்னத மஹான் ஆதி சங்கரர்.Footfalls of Indian History என்ற நூலில் இப்படிக் கூறி வியக்கிறார் அவர்!

     இப்படி இன்னும் ஆயிரக் கணக்கில் பல வாரங்களுக்கு ஹிந்து பெருமையைப் பற்றி மேனாட்டார் கூறியனவற்றைச் சொல்லிக் கொண்டே போகலாம்.

     இறுதியாக இங்கிலாந்தை சேர்ந்த ஆர்னால்ட் டாய்ன்பி கூறிய சொற்களுடன் என் உரையை முடிக்கிறேன்.

ஆர்னால்ட் டாய்ன்பி (B :14-4-1889 D: 22-10-1975)உலக சரித்திரத்தை A Study of History என்று பல லட்சம் சொற்களால் பன்னிரெண்டு தொகுதிகளாக எழுதி வெளியிட்டுள்ளார். அவர் ஹிந்து மதம் பற்றி தனது நூலின் முடிவில் கூறியதை அப்படியே இங்கு பார்ப்போம்:

“It is already becoming clear that a chapter which had a Western beginning, will have to have an Indian ending, if it is not to end in self-destruction of the human race. At this supremely dangerous moment in human history, the only way of salvation is the ancient Hindu way.”

“மனித இனம் தன்னைத் தானே அழித்துக் கொள்ளாமல் இருக்க, மனித வரலாற்றின் இந்த அபாயகரமான காலகட்டத்தில், மனித குலம் உய்வதற்கான ஒரே வழி ஹிந்து வழி ஒன்றே தான்!’

இதுவே அவரது பொருள் பொதிந்த கூற்றாகும்.

Sir

This is with reference to Purification by Fire by Mr V R Harshan of Bombay (IE.April22). A special affair needs a spiritual consideration, not a materialistic approach. Any Yaga or a Yagna is a spiritual affair that defies any rational or materialistic consideration. Hence the question of money and time doesn’t arise.

There are innumerable government as well as private agencies to feed, clothe, shelter and educate the poor and the needy. Innumerable international agencies exist to provide medical facilities to the suffering. And many of them achieve their aims. Some are mismanaged and the funds allotted for common purpose never reach the common man and there is no need to add one more to these.

It is alleged that the Soma Yaga is devoid of any beneficial effect. The learned friend has said that it cannot even cure common cold. No known medical system on earth has ever devised a remedy for common cold. Should we lose faith in all these systems? Crimes of all sorts are reported every day in newspapers.

Do we lose faith in police or judiciary?

A Yagna is the alphabet of altruism. It trains people to supress egoism (selfishness ) and promote a sense of sacrifice for altruistic purposes. When any offering is casting in fire, in a Yagna, the performer says,

,idam na mama

This is not mine.

Is this attitude not healthy for the creation of a healthy sociry?

The Yagnas and Yagas do have scientifically established attendant benefits. It has been proved beyond doubt that it purifies the atmosphere; creates congenial atmosphere for the precipitation of rain; can reduce mental tension; can reduce bacteria l growth; can reduce the period of germination; the ashes from the Agnihotra could cure a disease — Alternaria blight — in mustard seeds.

2.Dr B G Bhujblal, Research Officer and Associate Professor, Mahtma Phule University, Maharashtra

This does not mean that the writer agrees with the animal sacrifice performed in Soma Yagna at Trivandrum. The Vedas and Upanishads teach supreme love, mercy and knowledge. Any animal sacrifice in the name of Vedas is against Dharma, science or reason. The animal sacrifice that too in a Yagna is blasphemy and anti Vedic.

Finally, a new therapy called Homa Therapy of Agnihotra is being developed in the USA and West Germany. This involves the ashes of Yagna for curing several diseases such as cold, head ache, non-healing wounds, ringworm, diarhoea, tonsilitis, migraine etc.

மீனாட்சி அம்மன் கோவிலில் பிரதமர் மோடி சுவாமி தரிசனம்

மதுரை மீனாட்சியம்மன் கோவிலில் சாமி தரிசனம் செய்ய வேட்டி,சட்டையில் பிரதமர் மோடி வந்தார்.  மதுரை மீனாட்சியம்மன் கோவிலில் சாமி தரிசனம் செய்ய வந்த பிரதமர் மோடிக்கு  கோவில் சார்பில் பூரண கும்ப மரியாதை வழங்கப்பட்டது.

வெளியே காத்திருந்த மக்களை பார்த்து கை அசைத்துவிட்டு, கிழக்கு கோபுரம் அம்மன் சன்னிதி வழியாக உள்ளே சென்றார். பொற்றாமரைக்குளத்தின் பின்னணியில், தெற்கு கோபுரம் இருப்பதை கண்டு ரசித்தார். அவருக்கு, கருமுத்து கண்ணன், கோவில் சிறப்புகளை விளக்கினார். 8:52 மணிக்கு அம்மனை தரிசித்தார். அவரது பெயரில், அர்ச்சனை செய்யப்பட்டது.

தொடர்ந்து, முக்குறுணி விநாயகர் சன்னிதி வழியாக, சுவாமி சன்னிதிக்கு இரவு, 9:05 மணிக்கு சென்றார். அங்கும் அர்ச்சனை செய்யப்பட்டது. கோவில் விழாக்கள், குறிப்பாக, சித்திரை திருவிழாவின் சிறப்புகள் குறித்து பிரதமரிடம் கருமுத்து கண்ணன் கூற, ஆர்வமாக கேட்டார்.

கோவில் வருகை பதிவேட்டில் தமிழகம், மதுரையின் சிறப்புகள் மற்றும் கோவிலின் முக்கியத்துவம் குறித்து குறிப்பு எழுதினார்.பி ரசாதமாக விபூதி தரப்பட்டது.இரவு, 9:17 மணிக்கு தரிசனம் முடிந்து, பசுமலை, ‘கேட் வே’ ஓட்டலுக்கு ஓய்வு எடுக்கச்சென்றார்.

சீன அதிபரின் வருகையின் போது மாமல்லபுரத்தில் வேட்டி, சட்டையுடன் பிரதமர் மோடி பங்கேற்றது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

பிரதமர் மோடியின் வருகையொட்டி மதுரை மீனாட்சியம்மன் கோவிலை சுற்றி பலத்த போலீஸ் பாதுகாப்பு போடப்பட்டது.

ஓய்வு பெற்ற அர்ச்சகர்களுக்கு திருமலையில் மீண்டும் பணி

திருப்பதி- திருமலை தேவஸ்தானத்திலிருந்து ஓய்வு பெற்ற அர்ச்சகர்களுக்கு, மீண்டும் பணியாற்ற வாய்ப்பு வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. திருமலை ஏழுமலையான் கோவிலில், நான்கு குடும்பங்களைச் சேர்ந்த அர்ச்சகர்களின் வம்சாவளியினருக்கு மட்டுமே, கோவிலில் சேவை செய்யும் உரிமை வழங்கப்படுகிறது.

வைகாசன ஆகம பரம்பரையைச் சேர்ந்த 4 பேர் பரம்பரை முறையில் அர்ச்சகர்களாக இருந்து வந்தனர்.   இவர்கள் ரமண தீட்சிதலு, சீனிவாச தீ ட்சிதலு, நாராயண தீட்சிதலு மற்றும் நரசிம்ம தீட்சிதலு ஆவார்கள்.

இவர்கள் நால்வருக்கும் கடந்த 2018 ஆம் ஆண்டு வயதைக் காரணம் காட்டி கட்டாய ஓய்வு வழங்கப்பட்டது.  இதற்கு கடும் எதிர்ப்பு கிளம்பியது.  இவர்கள் அனைவரும் இங்கு ஊதியத்துக்காக மட்டும் பணி புரிவதில்லை என அர்ச்சகர்கள் சார்பில்தெரிவிக்கபட்டது.


இந்த குடும்பங்களைச் சேர்ந்த அர்ச்சகர்களை, இரண்டு குடும்பங்களுக்கு ஒரு முறை என சுழற்சி முறையில் வாய்ப்பு வழங்கப்படுகிறது. அவர்களில் ஒருவர் தலைமை அர்ச்சகராகவும் செயல்படுவார். தலைமை அர்ச்சகரின் தலைமையில், ஏழுமலையான் கைங்கரியங்கள் நடத்தப்பட்டு வருகின்றன.

 தங்கள் குடும்பங்கள் ஏழுமலையான் சேவைக்கே அர்ப்பணிக்கப்பட்டதால், தாங்களால் இயன்ற வரையில் சேவை செய்யும் வாய்ப்பு வழங்க வேண்டும் என, ஆந்திர அரசிடம் முறையிட்டனர்.

கட்டாய ஓய்வு கொடுக்கப்பட்ட இரண்டு அர்ச்சகர்கள் ஹைகோர்ட்டில் வழக்கு தொடர்ந்து வெற்றி கண் டனர் . பரம்பரை அர்ச்சகர் விஷயத்தில் அரசாங்க உத்தரவு செல்லுப டியாகாது. இது அரசியல் சட்டத்துக்கு விரோதமான செயல் என்று ஹைக்கோர்ட் தீர்ப்பு வழங்கியது. அர்ச்சகருக்கு சார் பான இந்த உத்தரவை கிட்டத்தட்ட இரண்டாண்டுகளாக நிறைவேற்றாது இருந்த ஆந்திர அரசு இப்போது திடீர் உத்தர வரைப் பிறப்பித்துள்ளது . இது குறித்து பரம்பரை அர்ச்சகர்கள் மகிழ்ச்சி அடைந்துள்ளனர்.

இதன்படி, தலைமை அர்ச்சகராக பணியிலிருந்து ஓய்வு பெற்ற ரமண ரமண தீட்சிதலு , மீண்டும் அதே பணியில் நியமிக்கப்பட உள்ளார்.

ஆந்திராவில், முதல்வர் ஜெகன்மோகன் ரெட்டி தலைமையில், ஒய்.எஸ்.ஆர்.காங்கிரஸ் ஆட்சி நடக்கிறது.இங்குள்ள திருப்பதியில்,. இந்த கோவிலை, திருமலை திருப்பதி தேவஸ்தான அறக்கட்டளை நிர்வகித்து வருகிறது.இங்கு, பக்தர்கள் மொட்டை போட்டு காணிக்கையாக அளிக்கும் தலைமுடி, மூன்று மாதங்களுக்கு ஒரு முறை, ‘ஆன்லைன்’ வாயிலாக ஏலம் விடப்படுகிறது. ரூபாய் 125 கோடி இதன் வாயிலாக, கடந்த ஆண்டு மட்டும், கோவில் நிர்வாகத்துக்கு, 125 கோடி ரூபாய் வருவாய் கிடைத்ததாக அறக்கட்டளை தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

இந்நிலையில், கடந்த பிப்., 7ம் தேதி, வடகிழக்கு மாநிலமான மிசோரமின் சங்டே என்ற இடத்தில், சந்தேகத்துக்கு இடமான வாகனங்களை, அசாம் ரைபிள்ஸ் படையினர் தடுத்து நிறுத்தி சோதனையிட்டனர்.அந்த வாகனங்களில், 120 பைகளில் தலைமுடி இருந்தது தெரிய வந்தது. விசாரணையில், அவை, திருப்பதி கோவிலில் இருந்து எடுத்து வரப்படுவதாக, அதில் இருந்த நபர்கள் தெரிவித்ததாக கூறப்படுகிறது. இந்த சம்பவம் பெரும் பரபரப்பை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது. இதில் மிகப்பெரிய ஊழல் நடப்பதாகவும், இது தொடர்பாக, கோவில் நிர்வாகம் மற்றும் மாநில அரசு முறையான விளக்கம் அளிக்க வேண்டும் என்றும், எதிர்க்கட்சிகளான தெலுங்கு தேசம் மற்றும் பா.ஜ., கோரியுள்ளது.

திருப்பதி கோவிலில் இருந்து சட்டவிரோதமாக கடத்தப்படும் தலைமுடி, தென்கிழக்கு ஆசிய நாடான மியான்மர், தாய்லாந்து வழியாக, சீனாவுக்கு கடத்தப்பட்டு, ‘விக்’ WIGS தயாரிக்க பயன்படுத்தப்படுவதாக புகார் எழுந்துள்ளது.’இந்த கடத்தலுக்கு, தேவஸ்தான அறக்கட்டளை அதிகாரிகள் உடந்தையாக உள்ளனர். மிசோரமில் கைப்பற்றப்பட்ட தலைமுடியின் மதிப்பு, 2 கோடி ரூபாய் இருக்கும்’ என, எதிர்க்கட்சிகள் குற்றஞ்சாட்டியுள்ளன.

இது குறித்து விளக்கம் அளித்த, திருமலை திருப்பதி தேவஸ்தானத்தின் சிறப்பு அதிகாரி தர்மா ரெட்டி கூறியதாவது:மிசோரமில் கைப்பற்றப்பட்ட தலைமுடியின் மதிப்பு, 18 லட்சம் ரூபாய் இருக்கும். மேலும், அந்த தலைமுடிகள் தரம் பிரிக்கப்படாதவையாக உள்ளன. திருமலை கோவில் அறக்கட்டளையை பொறுத்தவரை, தலைமுடியின் நீளம், நிறம் ஆகியவற்றின் அடிப்படையில் முதல் தரம், இரண்டாம் தரம் என, தரம் பிரிக்கப்பட்ட பிறகே ஏலம் விடப்படும்.

தி ருமலை கோவிலில் பலத்த பாதுகாப்பு போடப்பட்டுள்ளது. இங்கிருந்து அவ்வளவு எளிதாக தலைமுடியை யாரும் கடத்திச் செல்ல முடியாது. வீண் விளம்பரங்களுக்காகவே, சமூக வலைதளங்களில் பொய்யான தகவல் பரப்பப்படுகிறது. இவ்வாறு அவர் கூறினார்.

பொங்கல் திருவிழாவை முன்னிட்டு கோவில் முன்பு ஆயிரக்கணக்கான பக்தர்கள் பொங்கல் வைத்தும், மாவிளக்கு நேர்த்திக் கடன் செலுத்தி வழிபட்டனர். இன்று அக்கினி சட்டி திருவிழா நடைபெற்றது. இதில் ஏராளமான பக்தர்கள் அக்னிசட்டி ஏந்தியும், பால்குடம், பூப்பெட்டி, கரும்பாலை தொட்டில், பூக்குழி இறங்குதல் போன்ற நேர்த்திக்கடன் செலுத்தினர். முக்கியமாக, ஏராளமான பக்தர்கள் உடல் முழுவதும் சேறு பூசிக் கொண்டு கோவிலைச் சுற்றி வலம் வந்தனர்.

இவ்வாறு பூசுவதால் உடலில் உள்ள நோய்கள் தீரும் என்பது ஐதீகம். விழாவை காண சென்னை, காரைக்குடி, மதுரை மற்றும் பல்வேறு ஊர்களில் இருந்து ஏராளமான பக்தர்கள் குவிந்தனர். விழாவிற்கான அனைத்து ஏற்பாடுகளையும் க்ஷத்திரிய நாடார் உறவின் முறை செய்தது.

இந்தநிலையில் பப்புசாமி கோவிலுக்குள் 2 பேர் வந்தனர். அவர்கள், தாங்கள் செய்த தவறை மன்னிக்க வேண்டும் என்று கோவில் உண்டியலில் பணத்தை காணிக்கையாக போட்டனர். இதனை கவனித்த கோவிலில் இருந்தவர்கள், என்ன தவறு செய்தீர்கள் என்று கேட்டுள்ளனர். அப்போது 2 பேரும், அவர்களிடம் ஜோகட்டே பகுதியைச் சேர்ந்த அப்துல் ரகீம், அப்துல் தவ்பீக் ஆகிய நாங்கள் இந்த கோவில் உள்பட பல கோவில்களில் உண்டியல் பணத்தை திருடுவதை தொழிலாக வைத்து இருந்தோம். 

தற்போது நாங்கள் 2 பேரும் மனம் திருந்தி திருட்டு தொழிலை கைவிட்டுவிட்டு கோவிலில் மன்னிப்பு கேட்டு திருடிய பணத்ைத உண்டியலில் போட வந்தோம் என்றனர். இதைகேட்டு அதிர்ச்சி அடைந்த அவர்கள், பாண்டேஸ்வர் போலீசாருக்கு தகவல் கொடுத்தனர். அந்த தகவலின் பேரில் சம்பவ இடத்திற்கு விரைந்து வந்த போலீசார், 2 பேரையும் கைது செய்து விசாரணை நடத்தி வருகிறார்கள். கோவிலில் திருடி வந்த 2 பேர், மனம் திருந்தி திருடிய கோவில் உண்டியலில் பணத்தை போட வந்தபோது சிக்கிய ருசிகர சம்பவம் பரபரப்பாக பேசப்பட்டு வருகிறது.

Kumbh Mela begins formally in Haridwar

The Kumbh Mela formally began in Haridwar on Thursday with several restrictions imposed on devotees coming to attend the event amid rising cases of Covid-19 in various states including Uttarakhand.

Officials associated with organising the event, including Mela Officer Deepak Rawat, worshipped in temples along the banks of the Ganga to pray for a safe and unhindered Kumbh fair.

A negative RT-PCR test report not older than 72 hours before arrival has been made mandatory for devotees gathering for the Kumbh by the Uttarakhand High Court.

The high court has also asked the health authorities in Haridwar to ramp up testing from 5,000 per day to 50,000.

It is for the first time in the history of the grand religious congregation held on the banks of the Ganga in Haridwar once in 12 years that its duration has been curtailed to just one month due to the pandemic.

In normal circumstances, Kumbh is held for nearly four months.

A total of 38 temporary hospitals with the deployment of 200 doctors and 1,500 paramedical staff have also been operationalised for devotees in the Mela area.

Officials say over 2 crore devotees may visit Haridwar between April 11 and April 14. Earlier estimates said only 50-60 lakh people will congregate for the Haridwar event. 

More than 100 drones will be monitoring the congregation round the clock along with 1500 CCTVs.

Unhappy with Kumbh arrangements, seers ‘assault’ official

Unhappy with the arrangements at their camp in Kumbh area, the Bairagi seers of Nirmohi Akhada on Thursday evening allegedly assaulted a mela official.

Additional Mela Officer Harveer Singh, who suffered an injury in eye, had visited the camp of Nirmohi Akhada seers to find out if they were satisfied with the arrangements in the camp.

The seers apparently had some complaints and somebody pushed the official from behind as he was talking to them, Mela IG Sanjay Gunjyal said.

Singh had his glasses on when he was pushed which broke causing an injury to his eye, he said.

The entire episode is being probed, Gunjyal said.

PM Modi visits Madurai’s Meenakshi Amman temple in traditional attire

Wearing traditional attire, Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered prayers at Madurai’s famous Meenakshi Amman temple on Thursday.

After landing at the Madurai International Airport, Modi reached the temple around 8.30 pm wearing a dhoti and shirt.

He was seen entering the shrine through Amman Sannidhi Entrance of East Chithirai Street and welcomed by temple authorities, priests with Parivattam, and ‘Poorna Kumba Mariyathai’.

During his 45 minute-long stay inside the premises, Modi  visited all the important shrines inside the temple .

He was briefed about the sculptures and historical significance of the temple. Later, vibhuti and kumkum were given as prasad to the Prime Minister.

After his visit, Modi wrote about the importance of Tamil Nadu and Madurai in the visitors’ book and lauded the significance of the temple.

Security had been tightened and many policemen were deployed before his arrival at the temple.

A native of Nelaji village in Kodagu, Yashmi is currently pursuing her studies in Acharya Vidya Kula in Mysuru. During the lockdown, when the world took the virtual path, Yashmi was introduced to the UN Ocean Decade Summit and she took part in the programmes conducted by the initiative

She was then introduced to the H2021 Water Summit where she attended virtual sessions for four consecutive weekends and it is here she learnt about the story telling competition. “Each session was based on a particular theme. The theme ‘Water is sacred’ was close to me as I am from the Kodava community and we worship the River Cauvery,” she said.

Yashmi visited Kodagu and took some beautiful shots of the river. With a Kodava song playing in the background of the video, she highlighted the sorry state of the river today – which has become a victim of pollution. The video then moves to highlighting the efforts of youngsters in reviving the river and ends with a strong message — ‘Let us heal her (River Cauvery) and not fix her’.

“I have heard my mother explain the beauty of Kodagu that existed during her childhood. The district witnessed heavy rainfall then too. However, it is only now that the incessant rainfall is causing destruction and damage said Yashmi Dechamma.

TTD reinstates retired priests

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has issued orders reinstating all the Pradhana Archakas / Archakas (Chief Priests/Priests) belonging to the Mirasi families, who were forcibly retired in May 2018 under the previous TDP regime by the then TTD Trust Board which fixed a retirement age for them. As per the orders issued Friday, all the priests, who are similarly situated and retired under the controversial decision in May 2018, will be restored to their earlier respective positions. The orders were issued as per the High Court judgement delivered in December, 2018.

With this, Dr AV Ramana Deekshitulu will return as the chief priest of the famous hill shrine. Members of the Gollapalli, Peddinti, Tirupathamma and Paidipalli families have been serving at the Tirumala temple for generations on hereditary basis. What the controversial decision of the board under the TDP regime did was to do away with the hereditary system in a way by fixing retirement age for them. 

The same was challenged in the high court the same year by two priests, Seshadri and Murali, who were forcibly retired. In its verdict, the high court had held the TTD decision fixing retirement age for hereditary priests unconstitutional and ruled that hereditary priests belong to a special category intended as custodians of a temple’s customs and traditions, and cannot be treated as normal employees.

However, the court order was not implemented at the Tirumala temple. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who was at the time in the opposition, had promised to restore the hereditary priests if he was voted to power. In line with his promise, the State government had last year issued orders restoring hereditary archakas at all the temples but the same could not be implemented in Tirumala as it is governed by TTD rules. Dr AV Ramana Deekshitulu, however, was appointed as Agama advisor and honorary chief priest.A few days prior to the TTD’s latest order, several priests from Tirumala had met Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Restrictions back in Tirumala as Covid-19 cases rise in Andhra Pradesh


As COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Andhra Pradesh, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) board, which manages affairs of the Sri Venkateswara temple atop Tirumala has announced new norms for pilgrims, as a precautionary measure.

Pilgrims having a darshan slot on a particular day will be allowed to enter Tirumala by road through Alipiri only after 1 pm on the day before the darshan slot. Through the Alipiri and Srivari Mettu footpaths, pilgrims will be allowed only after 9 am on the day before the darshan slot. 

The Tirumala temple, governed by the TTD, is one of the most popular Hindu shrines in the world.

The number of devotees visiting the temple on a daily basis was initially capped at 6,000, and later increased to a maximum of 12,000. With restrictions eventually relaxed, Tirumala now has around 50,000 pilgrims on an average visiting the temple on a daily basis.

At 47%, Hinduism biggest gainer in religious conversion in Kerala

CONVERTED CHRISTIANS AND MUSLIMS ARE COMING BACK TO HINDU RELIGION ACCORDING TO A NEWS REPPORT

Of the total 506 people who registered their ‘change of religion’ with the government, 241 were those who converted from Christianity or Islam to Hinduism.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: While the BJP, in its election manifesto, has promised an Uttar Pradesh model law against forceful religious conversion and ‘love jihad’ in Kerala to woo Hindu and Christian voters, the data sourced by NEW INDIAN EXPRESS from the government gazettes paint an altogether different picture.

According to official figures for the year 2020, the biggest gainer – in terms of new converts – was Hinduism. People who embraced Hinduism constituted 47 per cent of religious conversions in Kerala during the one-year period under reference. 

Of the total 506 people who registered their change of religion with the government, 241 were those who converted from Christianity or Islam to Hinduism. A total of 144 persons adopted Islam whereas Christianity received 119 new believers in the year, shows the data.

32 people left Islam for Hinduism

As per the rule, people who officially change their religion, including minors, have to advertise it in the gazette. 72% of the new converts to Hinduism were Dalit Christians, mostly Christian Cheramars, Christian Sambavas and Christian Pulayas. It was evident that lack of reservation benefits forced many Dalit Christians to re-embrace Hinduism. Also, 32 people left Islam to join Hinduism.

Christianity lost 242 believers to the other two religions and attracted only 119 persons. Islam gained 144 new believers and lost 40 during the period. Buddhism received two new believers who switched from Hinduism.

77% of the new converts to Islam were Hindus and 63% women. It attracted the highest number of persons from Ezhava, Thiyya and Nair communities. 25 persons, including 13 females, switched from Hindu Ezhava to Islam.

17 Thiyya community members including 11 females converted to Islam. 17 persons including 12 females were from the Nair community. Of the 33 persons who crossed over to Islam from Christianity, 9 were Syrian Catholics, who included two women.

Mathura’s Krishna temple deity lies buried under a mosque in Agra Fort, claims advocate

An advocate has filed the application as part of his lawsuit seeking the shifting away of the 17th century Shahi Masjid from near the birthplace of Lord Krishna.

A Mathura-based advocate has moved a court here claiming that the ‘principal deity’ of the Thakur Katra Keshav Dev temple in the city lies buried beneath the staircase of a mosque built in Diwan-e-Khas of the Agra’s Red Fort.

In his plea filed in the court of Senior Civil Judge Neha Banaudia, advocate Mahendra Pratap Singh has requested the court to direct the Archaeological Survey of India or any other competent authority to locate the principal deity, allegedly buried under the mosque’s staircase along with other idols, and retrieve them.

The advocate has filed the application as part of his lawsuit seeking the shifting away of the 17th century Shahi Masjid from near the birthplace of Lord Krishna in the Katra Keshav Dev temple here, Sanjay Gaur said.

He said the court has fixed April 19 for hearing Singh’s plea.

Mathura: Devotees gather in huge number to play ‘Kapda Fad’ Holi

Hundreds of devotees gathered and played ‘kapda Fad’ or ‘Huranga’ in in the premises of Dauji Temple in Baldeo area of Mathura district on Tuesday (March 30).

This is a different type of Holi played by people in Dauji Temple known as Holi Khasam Huranga. The sister-in-law tears the clothes of her brother-in-law and beats them fiercely. People from all over the country reach here to see and play this form of Holi.

This type of Holi was played by Lord Krishna with his sister-in-laws. The expenses of this festival are covered by the Dauji Temple authorities. This Huranga festival does not end until the flag at the top of the temple is not covered with different colours.

Sheetala Ashtami is a festival in Hinduism that is celebrated after Holi on the Krishna Paksha Ashtami. Also known as Basoda, Sheetala Ashtami is celebrated worshipping Goddess Sheetala.

This year, Hindu devotees are celebrating the festival on TODAY, 4 April.

It is believed that Goddess Sheetala blesses her devotees and defends them against any heat-borne disease. Legend says that a demon called Jwarasura was the carrier of diseases when he was born. Goddess Sheetala cured the illnesses, causing him to lose powers. This is why Goddess Sheetala is worshipped as the goddess who can cure diseases.

On the day of the Sheetala Ashtami, fresh food is not cooked. Devotees consume stale food that is cooked a day prior to the Ashtami. A day before Sheetala Ashtami which is Sheetala Saptami, devotees prepare a dish of jaggery and rice to offer Goddess Sheetala on Sheetala Ashtami.
