There is a famous sloka in Sanskrit which is known to all Krishna devotees. But not many people know that it is based on a mantra in the Rigveda, oldest book in the world. It is amazing to see all the Bhakti verses have their origin in the Rigveda. Many scholars have written that Bhakti movement was a later development in Hinduism. It is not correct. Most of the famous lines found in Tamil Tevaram and Divya Prabandham are in the Rigveda. Tamil saint Tirumoolar used the cow symbolism found in the Rigveda. Sangam Tamil poot Mamoolanar used the Sky-Boat- Sun symbolism in Akananuru that is found in the Rigveda. I am pretty sure that we may see all the lines in Meera Bhajan or earlier Jeya deva Ashtapathis and Purandaradasa’s Kritis/compositions.
Tamils rightly called all the Bhakti verses as (Tiru) Marai, meaning Vedas. And the saints themselves say that they repeat what is found in the Vedas. Great Tamil saint Tiru Gnana Sambandar quotes Rigveda very often (rukku in Tamil) .Nammalvar, greatest of the Tamil Vaishnavite saints, has the epithet ‘Maran who did Veda in Tamil’( வேதம் தமிழ் செய்த மாறன் சடகோபன்).
In the Vedas the devotional lines are attributed to Indra, Agni, Asvins instead of Shiva and Vishnu. For a Hindu all are same, only the names are different. Throughout the Vedas we see the same attributes are given to different gods. We see the same in all Sahsranamas (1008 holy names) attributed to different Gods in modern Sanskrit.
Bhagavad-Gita also has Bhakti Yoga in addition to Gnana and Karma Yogas.
Here is the oft quoted Sanskrit verse :–
Mookam Karoti Vachalam
Pangum Langhayate Girim
Yatkripa Tamaham Vande
Paramananda Madhavam
DIVINE GRACE OF KRISHNA can make a dumb man eloquent and a lame man climb mountains!
मूकं करोति वाचालं पङ्गुं लङ्घयते गिरिं ।
यत्कृपा तमहं वन्दे परमानन्द माधवम् ॥
Another translation of the same verse:-
Muukam Karoti Vaacaalam Panggum Langghayate Girim |
Yat-Krpaa Tamaham Vande Param-Aananda Maadhavam ||
(I salute Lord Madhava by whose grace the dumb can become eloquent and the lame can cross over mountains).
In the Rig Veda hymn 112 in the first Mandala we see
RV.1-112-8
Mighty ones with what powers you gave Pravraj aid what time you made the BLIND AND LAME TO SEE AND WALK
This is verse where the seer Kutsa Angiras ives a long list of miracles done by the Twins ‘Asvins’.
A rig Vedic poet says
I saw it, I saw it, I saw Indra’s chariot with my own eyes in front of me.
This is echoed by Appar in Tevaram and Bhoothathalvar and Nammalvar in Divya Prabandham.
Appar says I saw his foot(prints). That is Lord Shiva’s foot.
Boothathalvar says I saw his body, his hands and the Light Emitting Sacred Wheel in his hand.
Nammalvar says I saw I saw I saw, I saw the sweetest scene by my own eyes. Comrades! come and join me in praising Him.
Mooka Kavi and Kumaraguruparar are some examples who composed verses after getting cured of their dumbness.
The Rig Vedic seers address Gods as dear friends and they always call their companions ‘ Comrades.’ So the Alvars and Saivite Nayanmars juse the same expressions that were found in the oldest book.
Vedas praise all gods as Bright Lights and equal to Sun, that is also found in Tamil verses.

மூகம் கரோதி வாசாலம் பங்கும் லங்கயதே கிரிம்
யத் க்ருபா தம் அஹம் வந்தே பரமானந்த மாதவம்
பொருள்
பேசமுடியாதவர் யார் கருணையால் பெரும் பேச்சாற்றல் மிக்கவர் ஆகிறாரோ முடவர் யார் கருணையால் பெரும் மலையைக் கடக்கிறாரோ அந்த பரமானந்த மாதவனை அடியேனும் வணங்குகிறேன்.
இதற்கான மூலம் இந்த மந்திரத்தில் (RV.1-112-8) வருகிறது
முடவனான பராவிரஜனை நடக்கச் செய்தீர்கள், குருடனான ரிஜ்ராகவனைக் கண் பார்வை பெறச் செய்தீர்கள்,சப்பாணியான சுரோணனை நகரச் செய்தீர்கள் என்று குத்ச ஆங்கீரசன் அஸ்வினி தேவர்களைப் புகழ்கிறார்.RV 1-112-8

மாதர்ப் பிறைக்கண்ணி யானை மலையான் மகளொடும் பாடிப்
போதொடு நீர்சுமந் தேத்திப் புகுவா ரவர்பின் புகுவேன்
யாதுஞ் சுவடு படாமல் ஐயா றடைகின்ற போது
காதன் மடப்பிடி யோடுங் களிறு வருவன கண்டேன்
கண்டே னவர்திருப் பாதங் கண்டறி யாதன கண்டேன்.
