WHO IS RAYA?

One of the greatest kings of India. He ruled whole of south India in the 16th century.

WHERE IS KUMBAKONAM?
Kumbakonam is a town in Tamil Nadu with lot of temples.

WHAT IS MAHAMAGAM ?

MAHAMAHAM tank is in Kumbakonam. Every 12 year, a festival is held and lakes of people come to the tank to take bath. They believe that their sins will be washed away or their demands will be fulfilled.
it is interesting to read even a great king came all the way to Kumbakonam.

Here’s the detail

After conquering Gajapati Kingdom he went straight to Tirupati without returning to his capital Hampi. He went to Kalahasti, Madurai, Alagarkoil, Sriviliputur and all Tamil Nadu shrines.

Inscriptions give precise details and they are supported by literature. But there are minor discrepancies.
