Til/ sesame seeds= El in Tamil
தில்/ தில = எள்
எள் +நெய் = எள் நெய் = எண்ணெய்
Til gives the word Thailam/oil
தில = தைலம்
Same concept is used in Tamil
El gives the word el+nei = Ennai
In several words we see such similarity in derivatives
Like thailam is used for all types of oils, ennai is also used for all oils as a suffix
தமிழில் எண்ணை என்பதை எல்லா எண்ணெய்களுக்கும் பயன்படுத்துகிறோம்.
சம்ஸ்க்ருதத்தில் எல்லா எண்ணெய்களுக்கும் தைலம் பயன்படுகிறது.
இது 2000 ஆண்டுகளாக ஒரே அணுகுமுறையை இரு மொழி களும் பின்பற்றுவதைக்காட்டுகிறது.
இதே போல நூல்/சூத்திரம் பொருள்/அர்த்தம் போன்ற பல சொற்களை முன்னரே காட்டியுள்ளேன்

Of these words we have two words in sangam literature
Putra = puthalva புதல்வன்
Pautra = Peran பேரன் , பெயரன்
Paramparai for lineage is also used in later Tamil. பரம்பரை

Saalaa = chalet, saal in European languages is Hall
சாலா = மண்டபம், ஹால், பாடசாலா =பள்ளிக்கட்டிடம்

சபைக்குள் இருக்காது தகுதி உள்ளவன்
Kaubeena = loin cloth to cover the genitals
Kaubeena becomes Komana in Tamil
கௌபீன = கோமண

Seven Steps confirms Friendship
Most important ceremony in Hindu marriages is Walking Seven Steps.
It is in the Rigveda in more than one place.
சப்த பதி = ஏழடி நடத்தல் = இந்து திருமணத்தின் முக்கியச் சடங்கு
Sangam Tamil literature says Karikal Chola walked seven steps along with visitors to honor them.
It shows the custom prevailed from the Himalayas to Kanya Kumari for thousands of years.
நண்பர்களுடன் ஏழு அடி நடந்து வழியனுப்புதல் ரிக் வேதத்தில் உள்ளது.
கரிகால் சோழனும் 7 அடி நடந்து விருந்தினர்களை வலி அனுப்பியதாக சங்க இலக்கியத்தில் காண்கிறோம் (இதை முன்னரே கட்டுரையாக எழுதியுள்ளேன் )
சகா = நண்பன் ; சக்யம் = நட்பு
Sakyam = sakaa/friend
Padhi =step; பதி = படி
Step is the mirror image of the word path

மாத்ரா, மாண = அளவுகள்
மாத்திரை= ஒலி அளவு;
மாத்திரை = மருந்து சாப்பிட வேண்டிய அளவு
Panini used both these words in the sutra
Both meant certain quantity, measure
Maaththirai for tablet is used even today. It means a particular quantity.
Maana is used even by Valluvar.
மாணப் பெரிது = குறள்
It comes in the Mantras like Satamaanam Bhavatu,,,,,,,,
சதமானம் பவது = வேத மந்திரம் = 100 மடங்கு ஆகட்டும்
