I will suggest that , after having written a book on any saastra, its author should go to a scholar upholding a different view, obtain his criticisms and include them in the publication. That way, a healthy cooperative enterprise in scholarship will grow.

We have the rare privilege of being born as human beings and we desire to live happily in the world. Pain and sorrow, trials and tribulations, these provide the incentive to think about the course of our lives, about the causes of our griefs and the way to overcome them

The strength of a religion does not lie in the numbers of those who practise it; but in the conduct of those who practise it.

WHAT I HAVE LEARNT FROM MY FATHER V.SANTANAM, NEWS EDITOR, DINAMANI, MADURAI? HE WAS A GREAT COLLECTOR OF BOOKS. HE LEFT US NOTHING BUT 6000 BOOKS. NOW WE GET DEIVATHIN KURAL IN 7 VOLUMES IN TAMIL WITH KANCHI PARAMACHARYA’S (1894-1994) LECTURES. WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF RA. GANAPATHY DID NOT DO THIS EXCELLENT JOB? NO WORRIES. MY FATHER COLLECTED ALL HIS TALKS PUBLISHED BY B G PAUL COMPANY AND KAMAKOTI PRADHISTANAM. BOTH IN TAMIL AND ENGLISH. WE ALL KNOW KALKI MAGAZINE ALSO PUBLISHED HIS TALKS EVERY WEEK. BUT I HAVE HIS FULL ENGLISH AND TAMIL LECTURES, THANKS TO MY FATHER. HE WAS A GREAT ENTHUSIAST IN PRESERVING BOOKS. LOT OF MONEY WAS SPENT IN BINDING THE BOOKS AND PUTTING WRAPPERS. HE WOULD SPEND HOURS IN DECORATING THE BOOKS; HE WAS ALSO VERY FOND OF WRITING THE TITLE OF THE BOOKS ON THE WRAPPER AND HIS SIGNATURE IN THE FIRST PAGE. MANY OF THE VOLUMES CONTAIN HIS HIGHLING MARKS ON THE PAGES. THAT SHOWED HE READ EVERY BIT OF IT. HERE IS ONE SUCH VOLUME.
Now I am also putting different coloured covers /wrapper for the books and writing the title.
