Bharata Natya sastra
The Natya shastra has 37 chapters and 5569 Slokas. It has also explanatory prose passages. It’s author is Saint Bharata, but originally Bharata meant an actor and dancer . It is dated variously between second and third century BCE. Some date it 4th and 5th century CE.
It is the basis of classical Hindu dance, music drama and is known as the Fifth Veda on account of its mythical origin from Brahma, the Creator,,who is believed to have composed it from elements of the four Vedas.
