Mahabharata and Ramayana Kings in the Rig Veda
Rigveda is the oldest available text giving the history of mankind. It is dated between 4500 BCE and 2000 BCE . When Max muller dated it 1200 BCE, he was attacked by other Indologists. Then he went back saying no one can date the Vedas.
The hymns of the Vedas were composed literally for hundreds of years. The latest hymn is by Devapi, brother of King Shantanu.
Shantanu was the great grandfather of the Kauravas and Pandavas, who fought the Bharata War that happened in 3101 BCE.
Shantanu came four generations prior to Pandavas and Kauravas, which was also Krishna’s life time. That means the latest book of the Rigveda was composed about 5200 years ago . According to Brihaddevata and the Nirukta, Devapi composed the Rain

கிடைத்தற்கரிய ‘பஞ்ச ஜகாரம்’!
ஜனனீ ஜன்ம பூமிஸ்ச ஜாஹ்னவீ ச ஜனார்தன: |
ஜனக: பஞ்சமஸ்சைவ ஜகாரா: பஞ்ச துர்லபா: ||
பெற்ற தாய், பிறந்த பொன்னாடு, புனித நதியான கங்கை (ஜாஹ்னவீ), ஜனார்தனர் (கிருஷ்ணர்), தந்தை – இந்த ஐவரும் இந்த உலகில் மிக அரிதாகக் கிடைப்பவர்களே! இவை அனைத்தும் ஜ என்ற சம்ஸ்கிருத எழுத்தில் ஆரம்பிக்கின்றன என்பதால் இவை ‘பஞ்ச ஜகாரம்’ என்று அழைக்கப்படுகின்றன.
These five – the mother, the motherland, the holy river Ganga (Jahnavi), God Krishna (Janardana), and fifthly, one’s own father – are rarely met with in the world. All these five in Sanskrit beging with the letter ‘ja’.

பூரணத்வம் கொண்ட வாழ்க்கை!
வாணி சரஸ்வதி யஸ்ய பார்யா புத்ரவதி சதி |
லக்ஷ்மீர்தானவதி யஸ்ய சபலம் தஸ்ய ஜீவிதம் ||
எந்த ஒருவனுடைய பேச்சு அன்பாகவும், கம்பீரமாகவும் இருக்கிறதோ, எவனுக்கு உண்மையுள்ள மனைவி இருக்கிறாளோ, எவளுக்கு மகன் இருக்கிறானோ, எவனுடைய செல்வம் தானமாகப் பயன்படுத்தப்படுகிறதோ அந்த ஒருவனுடைய வாழ்க்கை பூரணத்வம் கொண்டதாக ஆகிறது.
Fruitful is the life of the man whose speech is elegant and affectionate, who has a faithful wife, the mother of a son, and whose wealth is given in charity.

தாயின் மதிப்பு!
உபாத்யாயாம் தஷாசார்ய ஆசார்யாணாம் சதம் பிதா |
சஹஸ்ரம் து பித்ரும் மாதா கைர்வேணாதிரிச்யதே ||
சாதாரண உபாத்தியாயர்களை விட ஒரு ஆசாரியர் பத்து மடங்கு உயர்வானவர், அப்படிப்பட்ட நூறு பேர்களை விட ஒருவனின் தந்தை உயர்ந்தவர், ஆனால், அப்படிப்பட்ட ஆயிரம் தந்தைகளை விட ஒரு தாய் மதிப்பில் உயர்ந்தவள்.
A preceptor in higher branches of knowledge is more than ten ordinary teachers, one’s father is more than a hundred such preceptors, but one’s mother surpasses a thousand fathers in respectability.

Evil company and evil-mindedness are both harbingers of misery and indigence. He who desires redemption and to be free from evil destiny should keep away from them without delay.

Brahmins in their thrice a day ritual called Sandhyavandana, recite a mantra where the word DADHIKRAVAN IS USED. No Vedic scholar can give the correct translation for this word. Literally translated it means Horse Bird. Some scholars thought it is a speedy horse. Horse Bird appear at least in twenty places in the Rig Veda spreading over four mandalas/ books RV.3,4,7,10. Ostrich, the flightless bird native to Africa, inhabited India about 25,000 years ago, a study conducted by the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) here has found.
Though it is native to Africa, several geologists and archaeologists have over the time found ostrich egg shell pieces in India, mostly in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
A DNA study of some partly fossilised ostrich egg shells was recently conducted at CCMB.
“We have successfully analysed the ostrich egg shells in our ‘ancient DNA’ facility and established that the egg shells (found in India) are genetically similar to the African ostrich,” CCMB’s senior principal scientist Kumarasamy Thangaraj had said recently.
“The carbon dating (of the ostrich egg shells) to determine the age shows that they are at least 25,000 years old,” Thangaraj had said.
The study was conducted jointly by the scientists of CCMB, Indian Institute of Technology (Roorkee) and others.
The findings of the research have been published in the March 9, 2017, issue of science journal PLOS ONE.
The origin and evolution of the ostrich is widely attributed to the continental drifting of Gondwanaland or Gondwana.
Around 150 million years ago, Gondwana was a super-continent comprising South America, Arabia, Africa, Australia, Antarctica, India and Madagascar of the present times.
An initial break-up of this super-continent (during the Early Cretaceous period – 130 to 100 million years ago) separated Africa and Indo-Madagascar.
This bio-geographical dispersion eventually led to the hopping of ostriches in Africa through Eurasia (the combined continental landmass of Europe and Asia), via land route around 20 million years ago.
However, the continental drift theory for the existence of ostriches in India was not proven scientifically, an official release said.
Further, only morphological pattern of the fragile egg shell pieces is not sufficient to prove the existence of ostrich in India.
The researchers thus analysed the mitochondrial DNA to come to the conclusion about the existence of ostriches in India, the release added.
Phylogenetic (relating to the evolutionary development and diversification of a species or group of organisms, or of a particular feature of an organism) analysis of the DNA sequence revealed a 92 per cent identity of the fossil egg shells to the African ostrich species – Struthio camelus, the release further said.

It is a well known fact that early Christians copied Buddhists in setting up their church and convents. It is also believed that Jesus Christ spent his early childhood in the Himalayas and learnt upanishadic parables from the seers/ Rishis. He followed the Upanishads in relating parables
A strange coincidence is that in the church building, the southern side is the side of the Dean and the pall bearers.
In Hindu temples, we have Dakshinamurthy in the southern prakara/ corridor facing south. That is the side of Yama, the god of death as well.
Here is what the ‘Word watching’ column in a newspaper says,

இந்தக் கோவிலின் முகப்பிலேயே பெரிய வெங்கடாசலபதி உருவம் – திருப்பதி பாணியில் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
இந்தப் பெருமாளின் உயரம் – 108
கோவிலுக்குள் உள்ள சிவ லிங்கத்தின் உயரம் -11

மோரிஸ் தீவில் எப்படி பெருமாளையே கோவில் கோபுரம் போல முன்னனியில் வைத்தார்களோ அதே போல இந்த 2021-ம் ஆண்டில் அஸ்ஸாம் மாநிலத்தில் சிவலிங்க உருவத்தையே கோபுரம்போல வடிவமைத்து ஒரு கோவிலை எழுப்பியுள்ளனர். இந்த சிவலிங்க கோபுர உயரம் 126 அடி.

நவகான் அல்லது பெர்பெரி என்னும் இடத்திலுள்ள இந்த ஆலயத்தின் பெயர் மகா மிருத்யுஞ்சய ஆலயம் ; அதாவது மரணத்தை வெல்ல வழிகாட்டும் சிவ பெருமானின் ஆலயம்.
250 தமிழ்நாட்டு புரோகிதர்கள், அர்ச்சகர்கள் வந்து இந்தக் கோவில் கும்பாபிஷேக யாக சாலை பூஜைகளை நடத்தினர். நாட்டின் உட்துறை அமைச்சர் அமித் ஷா இந்தக் கோவில் பூஜைகளில் கலந்து கொண்டார். 2021 பிப்ரவரி 26ம் தேதிமுதல் வழிபாட்டுக்கு திறந்து விடப்பட்டுள்ளது வடக்கில் இமய மலையில் வாசம் செய்யும் கயிலாய மலைக்குப் போட்டியாக இன்னும் ஒரு சிவன் வந்து விட்டார். இதற்கு வித்திட்டவர் ஆசார்ய பிருகு கிரி மஹராஜ்.
சிவலிங்க வடிவிலான கோபுர உயரம் – 126 அடி சுற்றளவு -56 அடி
2003ம் ஆண்டில் கட்டிடவேலை துவங்கியது. 2021ல் கோவில் உருவானது .
ஆதிகாலத்தில் சுக்ராச்சார்யார் தவம் செய்த இடம் இது.
5000 பேர் இடம்பெறும் பெரிய பரப்பு கொண்டது இந்தக் கோவில்.
