ஆன்மீக வாழ்க்கை மூளையில் ஏற்படுத்தும் அதிசய மாற்றங்கள்!

ஞான ஆலயம் ஜனவரி 2013 இதழில் வெளியான சிறப்புக்கட்டுரை

 

உலகின் பிரபல நியூரோஸயின்டிஸ்டான (neuroscientist) ஆண்ட்ரூ நியூபெர்க்கை ஞான ஆலயம் வாசகர்களுக்காகத் தொடர்பு கொண்டோம். அவரது ஆராய்ச்சிகளைப் பற்றி எழுதவும் படங்களை வெளியிட அனுமதி வேண்டியும் அவரை வேண்டியபோது உடனே இசைவைத் தெரிவித்ததுடன் ஞான ஆலயம் வாசகர்களுக்குத் தன் வாழ்த்துக்களையும் தெரிவித்து தனது புகைப்படத்தையும் மகிழ்வுடன் அனுப்பி வைத்தார். உலகெங்கும் உள்ள ஆன்மீகவாதிகளுக்கு கடவுளை மூளை இயல் விஞ்ஞான அடிப்படையில் நிருபித்து பெரும் நம்பிக்கையை ஊட்டி வருபவர் அவர். மதம் கடந்த ஆன்மீகம் என்ற நிலையில் விஞ்ஞானம் கடவுளை அறிய முயன்று ஒரு சிறிது வெற்றியும் பெற்று ஆதாரங்களையும் அள்ளி வீசுகிறது. அவருக்கு ஞான ஆலயம் வாசகர்கள் சார்பில் நன்றி தெரிவித்து இந்தக் கட்டுரையை ஆங்கிலப் புத்தாண்டின் சிறப்புக் கட்டுரையாக அளிக்கிறோம்

விஞ்ஞானி ஆண்ட்ரூ நியூபெர்க்

உலகின் பிரபல மூளை இயல் நிபுணரும் விஞ்ஞானியுமான ஆண்ட்ரூ நியூபெர்க் தனது அதிசய ஆராய்ச்சிகளின் மூலம் ஆன்மீகவாதிகளுக்கு ஒரு அற்புதமான செய்தியை அளித்துள்ளார். இறை நினைவு ஏற்படும்போதெல்லாம் மூளையில் அதிசயத்தக்க    விதத்தில் மாறுதல்கள் ஏற்பட்டு பல நல்ல விளைவுகளை ஏற்படுத்துகிறது என்பது தான் அது!

 

ஆண்ட்ரூ நியூபெர்க் பல பிரமிக்க வைக்கும் புத்தகங்களைப் படைத்தவர். 150க்கும் மேற்பட்ட அரிய ஆய்வுக் கட்டுரைகளை அறிஞர்கள் வியக்கும்படி சமர்ப்பித்தவர். பென்சில்வேனியா பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் ரேடியாலஜி பிரிவில் அசோசியேட் பேராசிரியராகப் பணியாற்றும் இவர் ஆன்மீகம் மற்றும் மன மையத்தின் இயக்குநராகவும் இருக்கிறார்.

 

புதிய அறிவியல் உத்தி தரும் மூளையின் படங்கள்

  

ஆன்மீக அனுபவங்களால் பல்வேறு நிலைகளை அடையும் ஏராளமானோரை அவர் தனது ஆய்வுக்கு உட்படுத்தினார். இதற்காக அவர் கையாளும் தொழில்நுட்ப உத்தியின் பெயர் சிங்கிள் போடான் எமிஷன் கம்ப்யூடட் டோமோகிராபி (single photon emission computed tomography). இந்த ஆய்வுக்கு உட்படுவோரின் உடல்களில் காமா கதிர்களை வெளிப்படுத்தும் ஒரு வித கெமிக்கல், ஊசி மூலம் செலுத்தப்படுகிறது. இந்த கதிர்கள் தரும் தகவல்களை ஒரு கணினி சேகரிக்கிறது. அதன் மூலம் அவர்களின் மூளையில் ரத்தம் பாயும் பகுதிகள் பற்றிய படம் சித்தரிக்கப்படுகிறது. எந்தப் பகுதியில் அதிகமாக ரத்தம் பாய்கிறதோ அங்கு மூளை அதிகமாகச் செயல்படுகிறது என்று அர்த்தம்.

 

ஆறு பகுதிகளில் ஏற்படும் அதிசய மாறுதல்கள்

செயிண்ட் பிரான்ஸிஸ் ஆஃப் அஸிஸியின்(St Franscis of Assisi) விதிமுறைகளைப் பின்பற்றுவோரை பிரான்ஸிஸ்கன் நன் என்று அழைப்பர். அவர்களையும் திபெத்திய யோகிகளையும் தனது ஆய்வுக்கு வருமாறு ஆண்ட்ரூ அழைத்தார். மகிழ்வுடன் அவர்களும் இசைந்தனர். சுமார் 15 ஆண்டுகாலம் பென்சில்வேனியாவில் இடையறாது தன் குழுவினருடன் ஆய்வை நடத்தி வந்த ஆண்ட்ரூ மூளையின் முக்கியமான ஆறு பகுதிகளில் இறை உணர்வால் பெரும் மாற்றங்கள் ஏற்படுவதைக் கண்டறிந்தார்.

 

அந்த ஆறு முக்கிய பகுதிகள் : 1) முன் மடல் (frontal lobe) 2)லிம்பிக் அமைப்பு (limbic system)3)ஆன்டீரியர் சிங்குலேட் (anterior cingulated) 4) அமிக்தலா (amygdale) 5) தாலமஸ்(thalamus) 6) சுவர் மடல்(parietal lobe)

தியானம் அல்லது ஆன்மீக உணர்வுகள் மேம்படும்போது மடல்கள் ஒரு வலிமை வாய்ந்த உணர்வை அனுபவிக்க வைக்கின்றன. ரத்த ஓட்டத்தினால் முன் மடல் மேலே செல்வதற்குப் பதிலாக கீழே செல்கிறது! இதன் மூலம் அவர்கள் கூறும் அல்லது அனுபவிக்கும் அற்புத அனுபவங்கள் உண்மையே என்பதைத் தெளிவாக அறிய முடிகிறது.

 

இறை நினைவு அனைத்து மதத்தினருக்கும் ஏற்றம் தரும்

ஆச்சரியமான விஷயம் என்னவெனில் இறைவனைப் பற்றி நினைக்க ஆரம்பிக்கும் போதே மூளையில் வெவ்வேறு சர்க்யூட்டுகள் உருவாகின்றன. ஹிந்து, புத்த, யூத, கிறிஸ்தவ, இஸ்லாம் மதத்தில் எந்த மதத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவராக இருந்தாலும் இது ஏற்படுகிறது.

 

அறிவியல் உணர்த்தும் ஐந்து பேருண்மைகள்

 

பிரான்ஸிஸ்கன் நன்கள் மற்றும் புத்த குருமார்களை நான்கு வருட காலம் சிறப்பாக ஆய்வுக்குட்படுத்திய பின் ஆண்ட்ரூ பின் வரும் உண்மைகளைக் கண்டறிந்தார்.

1)   மூளையின் ஒவ்வொரு பகுதியும் கடவுள் பற்றிய வெவ்வேறு கருத்தை அமைத்துக் கொள்கிறது. அதிகம் தியானிக்கத் தியானிக்க கடவுள் இன்னும் அதிக மர்ம புருஷராகிறார்!

2)   கடவுள் பற்றிய அமைப்பை ஒவ்வொரு மனிதனும் வெவ்வேறு விதமாக அமைத்துக் கொள்வதோடு, கடவுளுக்கு வெவ்வேறு குணநலன்களையும், மதிப்பையும், அர்த்தத்தையும் கற்பித்துக் கொள்கிறான்.

3)   மத நம்பிக்கையே இல்லாவிட்டாலும் கூட ஆன்மீகப் பயிற்சிகளை ஒருவர் மேற்கொள்ளும்போது உடல் நலமும் உள்ளநலமும் மேம்படுகிறது.(ஒப்பீடு:-வல்லார்க்கும் மாட்டார்க்கும் வரமளிக்கும் வரமே – வள்ளலார்)

4)   நீண்ட கால தியானப் பயிற்சி மூளையின் அமைப்பையே முற்றிலுமாக மாற்றி விடுகிறது!இது மூட் எனப்படும் மனநிலையை சீராக ஒரே மாதிரி இருக்கும்படி செய்கிறது.ஆன்ம அறிவை ஏற்படுத்தி புலன் உணர்வுகளை நன்கு உருவாக்குகிறது.

5)   சாந்தி, சமூகம் பற்றிய விழிப்புணர்வு. தயை ஆகியவற்றிற்கு ஆதாரமான  குறிப்பிட்ட மூளை சர்க்யூட்டை அதற்குரிய பகுதியில் வலிமைப்படுத்துகிறது. (தாயிற் சிறந்த தயா ஆன     தத்துவனே- மாணிக்கவாசகர் – சிவ புராணத்தில்)

கடவுளை இடைவிடாது நினைக்க நினைக்க அவர் உங்கள் மூளையை நிச்சயம் மாற்றிக்கொண்டே வருகிறார்.

இப்படி ஆழ்ந்த ஆன்மீக அனுபவத்தில் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டவர்களே அதிக நோபல் பரிசுகளை சமாதானத்திற்காகப் பெற்றதை ஆண்ட்ரூ சுட்டிக் காட்டுகிறார்.மார்ட்டின் லூதர் கிங்.,பிஷப் டெஸ்மாண்ட் டுடு. தலாய் லாமா, மதர் தெரஸா ஆகியோர் உலக அமைதிக்காகப் பாடுபட்டதற்கு அவர்கள் உலகின் பால் கொண்டுள்ள அதீத தயை உணர்ச்சியே ஆகும்!

 

 

நியூரோபிளாஸ்டிசிடி

நியூரான்கள் ஒரு கட்டத்தில் கற்பதை நிறுத்தி விடுகின்றன என்று மூளை இயல் நிபுணர்கள் இது வரை கருதி வந்தனர். ஆனால் நோபல் பரிசு பெற்ற விஞ்ஞானியான எரிக் காண்டல்,” மூளை நியூரான்கள் கற்பதை ஒருபோதும் நிறுத்துவதில்லை.உள்ளும் புறமும் ஏற்படும் ஒவ்வொரு மாறுதலுக்கும் ஏற்ப நரம்பு செல்கள் மாறுகின்றன.இது வயதானாலும் தொடர்கிறது” என்று கூறுகிறார். இப்படிப் பல கண்டுபிடிப்புகளை இன்று நமக்குத் தரும் புதிய துறையின் பெயர் நியூரோபிளாஸ்டிசிடி!

 

மூன்று ‘சி’க்களும் இரண்டு படங்களும்

ஆன்மீகவாதிகளுக்கு மூன்று ‘C’க்களில் அதிக திறன் ஏற்படுகிறது. Cognition. Communication creativity ஆகிய அறிவுத் திறன், தகவல் தொடர்புத் திறன், படைப்பாற்றல் திறன் மூன்றும் அபரிமிதமாக செழிக்கிறது.இறுதியாக ஆன்மாவை அறியச் செய்கிறது!

ஒழுங்கான முறையான விரதம், தியானம், பிரார்த்தனை, வழிபாடு, இதர மதச் சடங்குகள் ஆகியவற்றை மேற்கொள்ளும் போது இரண்டு விதமான படங்களை ஏற்படுத்துவதை மூளை காண்பிக்கிறது.

 

1)முதலாவது மேப் ஆழ்மனம் பற்றியது. அன்றாட உலகில் போட்டிக்கு ஈடு கொடுத்து உயிர் வாழ்ந்து வாழ்க்கையை நடத்துவது.உடலை ஆரோக்கியத்துடன் தக்க வைத்துக் கொள்வது ஆகியவற்றை காண்பிக்கிறது இந்தப் படம்!

2) இரண்டாவது மேப் பிரபஞ்சம் பற்றிய நமது பிரக்ஞையைச் சித்தரிக்கிறது.புலன்களுக்கும் உணர்ச்சிகளுக்கும் அப்பாற்பட்டது இது!

 

 

ஆன்மீகப் பயிற்சி தரும் அளப்பரிய நன்மைகள்

 

ஆகவே 1)உலகில் நிலை பெற்றிருக்கும் கடவுள். 2)அவரைப் பற்றிய ஆழ்மன நிலையில் நமது அறிவும் அனுபவமும், 3)வெளிப்படையாக அவரைப் பற்றிய நமது கருத்தினால் முன்மடல், பக்கமடல்,சுவர் மடல் ஆகிய மூளைப் பகுதிகளில் நாம் அமைத்துக் கொள்ளும் அமைப்பு ஆகிய மூன்று நிலைகளை நாம் கருத்தில் கொள்ள வேண்டியவர்களாக இருக்கிறோம்.

இதற்கு பிரார்த்தனை உள்ளிட்ட அனைத்தும் நமக்கு உதவி செய்து  வியக்கவைக்கும் சாந்தியை நமக்கு அளிக்கிறது.

தயை என்பது நமக்கு உயரிய ஆன்மீக அனுபவத்தைத் தருகிறது. இந்த தயை (பிற உயிர்களிடத்து இரக்கம்) உச்சநிலையை எட்டுவதற்கும் நமது ஆன்மீகப் பயிற்சியே அடித்தளமாக அமைகிறது.

 

மூளையை மாற்றும் இறைவன்

இவற்றையெல்லாம் தெள்ளத் தெளிவாக கடவுள் உங்கள் மூளையை எப்படி மாற்றுகிறார் (How God Changes Your Brain)  என்ற பல லட்சம் பிரதிகள் விற்பனையான தனது புத்தகத்தில் மார்க் ராபர்ட் வால்ட்மேன் என்பவருடன் இணைந்து எழுதியுள்ளார் ஆண்ட்ரூ!

இந்த அறிவியல் தரும் அற்புத ஆராய்ச்சியின் முடிவை நமது அருளாளர்கள் மிகத் தெளிவாக சில வார்த்தைகளிலேயே சொல்லியிருப்பது நம்மை பிரமிக்க வைக்கும் இன்னொரு விஷயம்;

நினைப்பவர் மனங் கோயிலாக் கொண்டவன் (அப்பர் –பனைக்கை என்று தொடங்கும் பாடலில்)

மனத்துள் நின்ற கருத்தானை – (அப்பர் வாயானை என்று தொடங்கும் பாடலில்)

உளன் கண்டாய் நன்னெஞ்சே! உத்தமன் என்றும்

உளன் கண்டாய்; உள்ளுவார் உள்ளத்து உளன் கண்டாய் –(பொய்கை ஆழ்வார் முதல் திருவந்தாதியில்)

என்ற வார்த்தைகளின் ஆழமான பொருள் அறிவியல் ஆராய்ச்சியால் அல்லவா இப்போது விளங்குகிறது.

அவன் அருளாலே அவன் தாள் வணங்குவோம்!!

படங்களும் விளக்கங்களும்

 

திபெத்திய யோகிகள் தியானம் செய்யும் போது அதன் விளைவுகளை மூளையின் இந்தப் படங்களில் பார்க்கலாம்!

Frontal lobe (முன்மடல்)

சிங்கிள் போடான் எமிஷன் கம்ப்யூடட் டோமோகிராபி (SPECT) என்ற தொழில்நுட்ப உத்தி மூலமாக யோகிகள் தியானம் செய்யும் போது மூளைப்பகுதியான ஃப்ரண்டல் லோப் எனப்படும் முன்மடலில் ஏற்படும் மாற்றங்கள் கண்டறியப்பட்டது. இரத்த ஓட்டம் அதிகரிப்பது அதிக செயலாற்றலை அந்தப் பகுதியில் காண்பிக்கிறது. இடது பக்கப் படம் மூளை சாதாரண நிலையையும் வலது பக்கப் படம் மூளை தியானத்தில் இருக்கும் நிலையையும் காண்பிக்கிறது. இதில் ஒருமுனைப்படுத்தும் பகுதிகள் அதிகமாக ஒளிர்வதைப் பார்க்கலாம்.

 

Parietal Lobes (சுவர் மடல்)

சுவர்மடலிலோ குறைந்த செயல்பாடே காண்பிக்கப்படுகிறது. இந்தப் பகுதி தான் இடம் மற்றும் காலம் பற்றிய உணர்வை நமக்குத் தெரிவிக்கிறது. இந்தப் பகுதியை முற்றிலுமாக அடைத்து விட்டோமானால் இடம் மற்றும் காலம் கடந்த நிலையை எய்தி விடலாம்.இது தியானத்தின் மூலமாக அடையப் படுகிறது. இது பற்றிய இன்னும் அதிகமான நுட்பமான படங்களும் ஏராளமாக எடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. அவை தியானம் எல்லையற்ற பிரபஞ்சத்தில் லயமாகும் நிலையைத் தெரிவிக்கின்றன!

Mankind originated in Asia!

 

Hindu scriptures are very clear about the origin of mankind. They never talk about any migration to ‘India, that is Bharat’, from outside. Only the foreign scholars confused Indians by proposing Aryan- Dravidian migration theory. They wrote that Aryans came from Central Asia or Siberia and Dravidians came from The Mediterranean. But now scientists themselves are rewriting their theses. They started admitting their blunders. Slowly they will come to the conclusion that mankind originated in India. That is what the greatest of the Tamil poets, Bharathi, said about India:

When was our mother born?

Who can hazard a guess?

Not even the learned that discern

What happened in the days of yore.

 

Though our mother’s age

No one can compute

Alone on earth does she shine

For ever in virgin bloom

The famous Tamil quote “ Even before the stones became sand there came a race with swords in their hands, so old is this race!” also confirms it.

WE DIG ASIA

“ Move over Africa. It is where humanity began, where we took our first steps and grew big brains. But those interested In the latest cool stuff on the origins of our species should look to Asia instead.

Why so? It looks as if some early chapters in the human story, and significant chunks of its later ones too, took place under Asian skies.

For starters, 37 million year old fossils from Burma are the best evidence yet that our branch of the primate tree originated in Asia rather than in Africa.

A great deal later, after the emergence of humans from Africa, some of our distant cousins set up shop in Asia, only to die out later. In 2012 anthropologists described for the first time human fossils unlike any others—ancient hominins dubbed the Red Deer Cave People who lived in what is now china recently as 15,000 years ago, then vanished without further trace.

The implications is that more long lost cousins remains to be found in south east Asia’s neglected fossil record. We know a little about the enigmatic Denisovans, for example. Their DNA was first discovered in 50,000 year old fossil fragments from a Siberian cave in 2010, and traces of the DNA live on in modern Indonesians. Not only does this show that the Denisovans interbred with our species, it also suggests they occupied a territory so large it took in South-East Asia as well as Siberia.

Yet the only evidence we have of their existence are a finger bone and a tooth. Too long have the vast plains and forests of Asia remained untouched by the trowels and brushes of palaeoanthropologists. Teams of them are champing at the bit to explore Asia’s rocks. Denisovans – and, hopefully, other ancestors, too – will not remain faceless for long”.

வியப்பூட்டும் செய்தி: மனிதன் தோன்றியது பர்மாவில்!

தொன்று நிகழ்ந்தது அனைத்தும் உணர்ந்திடும்

சூழ்கலை வாணர்களும்—இவள்

என்று பிறந்தவள் என்று உணராத

இயல்பினளாம் எங்கள் தாய் —-(பாரதத் தாய் பற்றி பாரதி பாடியது)

 

இந்தியாவில் மனித இனம் தோன்றியதாக நமது புராண இதிஹாசங்கள் சொல்லாமல் சொல்லுகின்றன. இதை இது நாள் வரை மறுத்துவந்த வெளி நாட்டினர் இப்போது அவர்களின் தவற்றை உணரத் துவங்கிவிட்டனர்.

“கல் தோன்றி மண் தோன்றாக் காலத்தே வாளொடு முன் தோன்றிய மூத்த குடி” என்று தமிழர்கள் சொன்னது உண்மையாகி வருகிறது.

“நியூ சைன்டிஸ்ட்” என்ற பிரபல வாரப் பத்திரிக்கை 2013ல் வரப்போகும் 10 வியத்தகு திடுக்கிடும் செய்திகளை வெளியிட்டிருக்கிறது. நவம்பர் மாதம் வரப்போகும் அதிகப் பிரகாச வால் நட்சத்திரம் அதில் ஒன்று. அது பற்றி விவரமாக தனியே எழுதிவிட்டேன். அதைவிட முக்கியமான செய்தி மனிதன் தோன்றியது ஆப்பிரிக்கா அல்ல. ஆசிய நாடாக இருக்கவேண்டும் என்று ஒரு செய்தி வெளியிட்டு இருக்கிறது. அதுவும் இந்தியாவுக்குப் பக்கத்தில்!

மனித குலம் ஆப்பிரிக்காவில், குரங்கிலிருந்து படிப் படியாக பரிணாம வளர்ச்சி பெற்று மனிதன் ஆனதாகவும் 60,000 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன் இந்தியா, ஆஸ்திரேலியா, முதலிய இடங்களுக்குச் சென்றதாகவும் இதுவரை கூறிவந்தனர். இப்போது அது தவறு, ஆசியாவில்தான் அவன் தோன்றினான் என்றும் இதற்கான சான்றுகள் பர்மா, சீனா, சைபீரியாவில் கிடைத்துள்ளன என்றும் “நியூ சைன்டிஸ்ட்” கூறுகிறது.

பர்மாவில் (மியன்மார்) 37 மில்லியன் ஆண்டு பழமையான மனித படிம அச்சுகள் (fஆஸ்ஸில்) கிடைத்துள்ளன. ஏற்கனவே போன வருஷம் சீனாவில் 15,000 ஆண்டுப் பழமையான சிவப்பு மான் குகை மனித எலும்புகள் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டன. அந்த மனித இனம் வேறு எங்கும் காணாமல் மறைந்தது மர்மமாக இருக்கிறது.

இவ்வாறு விட்டுப்போன தொடர்ச்சி (மிஸ்ஸிங் லிங்க்) இந்தோநேஷியாவில் கிடைக்கலாம் என்று எதிர்பார்க்கிறார்கள். 2010ஆம் ஆண்டில் முதல் தடவையாக சைபீரியா ( ரஷ்யா ) குகையில் மனிதனின் மூதாதையரின் 50,000 ஆண்டுப் பழமையான எலும்பு கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டது. அவைகளில் இருந்து டி என் ஏ எடுத்துப் பார்த்ததில் அதே டி என் ஏ தற்கால இந்தோநேசியர் ரத்தத்திலும் இருக்கிறது என்று தெரிந்தது. இவர்களை ஆராய்ச்சியாளர்கள் டெனிசோவன்ஸ் என்று அழைப்பர். இப்போதுள்ள பெரிய புதிர் சைபீரியா முதல் இந்தொநேசியா வரை மிகப்பெரிய பகுதியில் டெனிசோவன்ஸ் எப்படிப் பரவினர் என்பதாகும். இதற்கெல்லாம் முத்தாய்ப்பாக பர்மாவில் 3.7 கோடி ஆண்டுக்கு முந்தைய மனித எலும்புகள் கிடைத்திருக்கின்றன. ஆப்பிரிக்க மனிதத் தோற்றக் கொள்கை பொடித்து விழும் நாள் வெகு தூரத்தில் இல்லை!

ஆசியாவில் அதிக மக்கட்தொகை ஏற்பட்டு பல தடயங்கள் அழிக்கப்பட்டதாலும் முறையான ஆராய்ச்சிகள் செய்யப்படாததாலும் உண்மைகள் மறைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தன. அடுத்த திடுக்கிடும் செய்தி இந்தியாவில்தான் மனித இனம் தோன்றியது என்று வெளி நாட்டினரே அறிவிக்கும் செய்தியாக இருக்கும் என்பதில் ஐயம் இல்லை.

விநாயகரின் ரசாயன யுத்தம்

 

ரசாயனப் போர் முறை (Chemical warfare) மிகவும் சர்ச்சைக்குரிய விஷயம். ஐ.நா.சபையால் தடை செய்யப்பட்ட போர் முறை. ஆனால் எதிரிகள் முதலில் அதைப் ப்ரயோகித்தால் தற்காப்புக்காக அதைச் செய்வதில் தவறில்லை. இதைத் தான நாம் கும்பிடும் பிள்ளையாரும் செய்தார்.

 

விநாயகரின் 16 முக்கிய நாமாக்களில் ஒன்று தூமகேது. இந்த சம்ஸ்கிருதச் சொல்லுக்கு இரண்டு அர்த்தம் உண்டு: 1.வால் நட்சத்திரம், 2.விநாயகப் பெருமான். அவருக்கும் வால் நட்சத்திரத்துக்கும் (தூமகேது) ஒரு தொடர்பும் இல்லை.

விகுதி என்ற ஒரு அரசன் இந்திர பதவி மீது ஆசை கொண்டான். அதைப் பொறுக்காதோர் அவனைச் சபிக்கவே அவன் தூமாசுரன் என்ற புகை அசுரனாகப் பிறந்தான். தூமம் என்றால் புகை என்று பொருள். அவனிடம் விஷப் புகை ( Weapons of Mass Destruction) ஆயுதங்கள் இருந்தன. அதை அவன் ரிஷிகள் மீதும் நல்லோர் மீதும் பிரயோகித்தான். அவனைக் கொல்ல சுமுதை என்பவளுக்குப் பிறக்கப்போகும் குழந்தை உதவும் என்று ஒரு அசரீரி கேட்டது. ஆகவே சுமுதை கணவருடன் காட்டுக்குச் செல்ல, அங்கு விநாயகரே அவர்களுக்குக் குழந்தையாக வந்து அவரிடம் வளர்ந்தார்.

தூமாசுரன் செயல்களைக் கேள்வி கேட்கவே அவன் பிள்ளையார் மீதும் புகை ஆயுதங்களைப் பிரயோகித்தான். அவரோவெனில் அத்தனை புகையையும் உள்ளுக்கு இழுத்தார். தூமாசுரன் மீது அந்த விஷப் புகையைக் கக்கவே அவன் சேனைகளுடன் அழிந்தான். ஆகவே அவருக்கு தூம கேது என்று பெயர்.

Om (Aum) in Rome !

We went on a holiday to Italy from 26th December to 1st January 2013. We were looking for Hindu symbols, links etc in various parts of Italy like Venice, Naples, Pompei and Rome. To be honest we did not find much more than Hindu symbol Swastika and Jesus in Namasthe pose. We also saw huge paintings of Romans travelling in a chariot drawn by peacocks and a Roman travelling on eagle like our Vishnu. We photographed big confession boxes, at least eight inside the Vatican Church St Peters Basilica.( I am writing separately about the Hindu origin of confession). In addition to this we played Vedas (Rudram and Chmakam) in the hotel rooms. As usual I did my Brahminical duties of Sandhya Vandhanam with the help of a plastic cup and plastic spoon. So Gayatri Mantra with Om (aum) reverberated in the rooms on the banks of river Tiber in Rome and Grand canal in Venice. We did Gayatri in the Vatican church as well in addition to Abirami Andhati. I always recite Hindu slokas (hymns) whenever I am in a place of worship. Whether it is a church or a mosque or a temple they have some mysterious power.

400 Bridges + 150 Canals: Floating City

We ( a group of eight people from two families) went to Venice first. It is definitely one of the wonders of the world. It is a floating city with 150 canals and 400 bridges. The water touches every building along the route. Thousands of huge and historical monuments are on either side of the canals. I heard from the people that the water enters the buildings during flooding periods. And yet they stand without much damage for hundreds of years at least for 700 years.

Venice is on the shores of Adriatic Sea. It was once hundreds of islands on the lagoons. Slowly the water level rose and made it a floating city. The main transport of the city is by Waterbuses called Vaporetto. Like we buy bus tickets in our cities we buy tickets and go to any part of the city. For Romantic travellers like newly married young couple, there are traditional decorated long boats called GONDOLAS. We saw young and old lovers happily boating and the gondola boatman singing loudly in Italian.

St Marco is a known land mark with a beautiful church. All the churches in Italy are huge like our Meenakshi temple of Madurai or Big temple of Thanjavur. The only difference is that these churches came in to existence at least thousand years later. The paintings, stained window glasses and architecture are beautiful. The next famous land mark is Rialto bridge, one among the 400 bridges. This is famous for its statues and shopping. We saw the famous Opera House only from outside.

Doges means the chief magistrates who ruled Venice area from 7th century AD. The palace is huge with lot of paintings and statues. I saw huge pillars like our Tirumalai Nayak Place in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. The interesting thing about the paintings is there is lot of Hindu influence. Like Lord Skanda, a lady was riding a chariot drawn by peacocks. Peacocks are Indian birds imported by Babylonia and Rome for thousands of years. So it is definitely a Hindu theme. Another character was flying on an eagle like Vishnu on Garuda. Famous Italian paintings are mostly modern. They were started during the Renaissance in fifteenth century.

Venice is famous for its glass industry. Beautiful and colourful figures are available in all the shops.

I have already written about the 39 amazing similarities between the Bible and Hindu scriptures in two parts under the title “SANSKRIT IN BIBLE”. Now I have found out one more. Jesus disappeared when he was a teenager and came back to history when he was 32+ according to the Bible. Great thinkers knew that he studied Upanishads at the feet of Indian Rishis during this period and his parables echoed the Upanishads. Some people also believe he did spend his later life in the Himalayas and he did not die on the cross. He belonged to a tribe called Esannes which has similarities with the Hindus. Now I saw two huge paintings in Rome depicting the baptism of Jesus from John. First of all, water is used for this like Hindus. There is no Hindu ceremony without water. The second thing is Jesus like every Hindu devotee before his Guru, brought two hands together and do Namaste! One of the paintings is in Sistine Chapel, Vatican City.

Like Hindus use Sanskrit inside temples, Vatican uses only Latin. Pope delivers his speeches in Latin. One of the world’s wonder is Sistine Chapel where we can see the huge and beautiful paintings of Michelangelo. They became more popular after Dan Brown’s book and film The Da vinci Code and the Lost Symbol. We said “amazing” and my American colleagues said “awesome”. Though we saw the world famous paintings for the second time everything looked new to us. We can call it the Ajanta of the Western World!

SWASTIKA in Etruscan Museum

I have already written an article about the “ETRUSCAN- HINDU/TAMIL LINK”. But I wanted to see in person about what I read in the books. The museum was huge with thousands of artefacts. We had to finish it in two hours because of our other commitments. To my disappointment photography was banned inside the museum like many museums. And there were no books on the museum or Etruscans in English at the Bookshop attached to the Museum!!! But I managed to take one or two shots of pots (Amphorae) with Swastika on it. Whenever I saw swastika pots I read that was the oldest pot belonging to seventh century BC!

Swastika signs were found in all old cultures around the world including Indus, Egyptian and Babylonian. They were considered solar symbols. But the Sanskrit word SWASTI (auspiscious) is accepted by all the scholars.

About other hundreds of attractions like Colosseum, Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Plzza del Popollo, Plazza della Republicca,  I have nothing new to say. The tourist websites are good enough for anyone.

In Pompeii, a big lively city was buried under the volcanic ash. Indian ivory figures were found there.

Krishna 13 Restaurant in Rome

Last time we went to Rome and Florence in 2007. We suffered a lot because we couldn’t get anything Indian like rice or chapathi. Being strict vegetarians we had to eat Pizza and Pasta for seven days! This time thanks to a Sikh vendor in front of Colosseum in Rome we came to know about a Hindu restaurant next to the main Railway station Termini. Just outside the metro station Vittorio Emanuel we found Krishna 13 restaurant. It is a veg and non-veg restaurant. We had very tasty Rice, Naan and Sabjis. To our surprise that was the lowest bill we paid in Rome and Venice. The chef was a Nepalese. The owner couple were from Bombay and Kashmir. They were very nice.

The big difference I noticed in Italy was the crowd. We visited Italy during Christmas last time as well. But now the crowd has swollen like anything. I felt as if I was inching my way through Madurai Chitra festival crowd. Everywhere there were huge crowds and long queues. We couldn’t even take photos without human heads. The trains were jam packed like Bombay suburban trains.

Another difference we noticed was a huge Japanese presence. Everywhere Japanese were going in big groups buying all expensive goods like Prada, Gucci, Georgio Armani. No one can compete with them!

What are comets?

Comets are small icy bodies orbiting the sun usually on a highly elliptical path. A comet consists of a central nucleus a few kilometres across, and has been likened to a dirty snow ball because it consists mostly of ice mixed with dust. As a comet approaches the sun its nucleus heats up releasing gas and dust which form a tenuous coma up to 60,000 miles wide around the nucleus. Gas and dust stream away from the coma to form one or more tails which may extend to millions of miles. Comet Encke is with the shortest period of orbit and returns every 3.3 years. Comets are named after their discoverers.

 

New Comet sighted

New Scientist magazine has listed ten great discoveries or inventions that would hit the headlines in newspapers in 2013. One of the ten sensational events is the sighting of a comet that is heading towards earth. Astronomers expect a spectacular show on the sky in November 2013.They expect at its peak this comet known as C/2012/S1 will outshine full moon in brightness. It will be visible even during day time.

It was spotted in September last year by Russian astronomers of the International Scientific Optical Network (ISON) and so it is also known as ISON. Coming from the Oort cloud this dirty snowball will evaporate as it approaches sun. The gas surrounding the comet will shine as a tail brightly in November. As it goes away from sun it will disappear in the vast space. Comets contain three parts Head, Nucleus and Tail. The nucleus will extend as head and tail as it approaches the sun.

ISON may even be visible from October 2013 to January 2014. There is a big superstition surrounding the comets. In some cultures they believe they bring changes for good. But Hindus believed that it portends a danger to the rulers and the country. We see this reference from Mahabharata to Puranas and from Sanskrit literature to Tamil Literature.

Lord Ganesh’s Chemical Warfare

Bhargava Purana has an interesting story:

Dhumaketu in Sanskrit means Lord Ganesh and the comet. Lord Ganesh conducted a ‘chemical warfare’ with Dhumasuran and killed him. Hence Ganesh was called Dhumaketu. Dhumasuran was born as a King known as Vikuthi in his previous birth. When he desired for Indra’s post, he was cursed to be born as demon Dhumasuran. Vinayaka appeared as a child to the couple Sumuthai and Madhavarajan and killed Dhumasuran. Dhumasura wellversed in chemical warfare used weapons of mass destruction by blowing poisonous gases on good people. Lord Ganesh (Vinayaka) swallowed the poisonous gas and threw it back on Dumasuran, says the Puranas. Dhumasuranwas killed by the smoke (smoke is Dhumam in Sanskrit)

In Tamil and Sanskrit literature, the poets compare evil persons with comets. Actual appearance of comets provokes wars such as Mahabharata war. Sangam Tamil literature which is 2000 year old has a few interesting references to comets.

Hindu Beliefs

Kudalur Kizar, a poet, sings an elegy to the Chera king (Yanaikat Chey) Mantaram Cheral Irumporai, in which he says that the sighting of a comet seven days earlier portended his death. What he feared seven days ago came true today. In short the king died after the appearance of a comet. It may be Halley’s comet ( Purananauru verse 229)

In another verse Kapilan, the most famous Brahmin poet, who composed the highest number of poems in Sangam period says that even if a comet appeared Pari’s land will get good rains and good harvest because he was such a just and generous king (Puram verse 117). He used the Sanskrit word Dhumam for a comet.

Among the modern greats, Bharathiyar, the most famous Tamil poet composed a poem on Halley’s comet during its 1910 visit. The poem was titled Sadharana Varusha Dhumaketu. He also echoed the ancient beliefs on comets, but questioned them whether they are true or false:

Bharathiyar’s Tamil poem as translated by Dr T N Ramachandran:

1.Like a palm tree set on a millet plant

With a growing tail on a little star

You blaze forth in kinship with eastern moon,

Oh illustrious comet! Sid you welcome.

2.You range over countless crores of Yojanas;

They say your endless tail is wrought of gas

The softness of which is indeed peerless.

3.They aver that your tail touches the earth too

And you fare forth with no harm to the poor;

The wise talk of your myriad marvels

4.We that are over Bharath spread, have forgot

Long long ago the lore of works; we learnt

Of your nature true from aliens only;

None amongst us is with clarity blessed

5.Come, Oh flame! I will put you some questions.

They say, you will cause harm to the evil.

And will immerse in a sea of misery

The ancient world. Is this true or untrue?

6.”By Her mandate great—the Primal Goddess,

You fare forth executing punishment

Purging the world of its impurities

And making it pure” they say. True or false?

7.”It is a rule with you to appear once

In a cycle of seventy five years;

This time you will cause many marvels” say they.

2013ஆம் ஆண்டில் பெரிய செய்தியாக அடிபடப் போவது ஒரு புதிய வால் நட்சத்திரம் ஆக இருக்கும் என்று விஞ்ஞானிகள் கருதுகின்றனர். இதை சூப்பர் காமெட் (super comet) என்று அவர்கள் அழைக்கின்றனர். காரணம் என்னவென்றால் இது பௌர்ணமி நிலவை விட அதிகம் வெளிச்சம் உடையதாக இருக்கும். பகல் நேரத்தில் கூட இது நிலவை விடப் ப்ரகாசமாகத் தெரியும்.

இது பூமிக்கு மிக அருகில் நவம்பர் 28ஆம் தேதி வரும். ஒரு மாத காலத்துக்கு வான வேடிக்கைகளை நடத்திவிட்டு சூரிய மண்டலத்திலிருந்து கண் காணாத தொலைவுக்குச் சென்றுவிடும். இதன் பெயர் சி/2012எஸ்1 (C/2012S1). இதைக் கண்டுபிடித்த அமைப்பின் பெயரில் இதை இசான்(ISON) அல்லது ஐசான் என்றும் அழைப்பர். இதைப் போன வருஷம்தான் முதலில் பார்த்தனர். அது முதல் இதைக் கண்காணித்து வருகின்றனர்.

ஹாலியின் (Halley’s Comet) வால் நட்சத்திரம் 76 ஆண்டுக்கு ஒரு முறை வரும். ஆனால் இது அப்படிப்பட்ட பாதையில் செல்லாமல் சுற்றி வராத பாதையில் செல்கிறது. இது ஊர்ட்(Oort Clouds) மேகப் பகுதியில் 460 கோடி ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன் தோன்றியது. 1997ஆம் ஆண்டில் வந்த  ஹேல் பாப் (Hale Bop) வால் நட்சத்திரமும் பெரிய வாலுடன் பூமியிலுள்ளோருக்குத் தெரிந்தது. புதிய வால் நட்சத்திரமோவெனில் நிலவைப் போல பன்மடங்கு ஒளிவீசும்.

ஆபத்து வருமா?

வால் நட்சத்திரம் தோன்றினால் தேசத்துக்கும் அதை ஆள்வோருக்கும் ஆபத்துவரும் என்ற நம்பிக்கை மஹா[பாரத காலத்தில் இருந்து நிலவி வருகிறது. சங்கத் தமிழ் இலக்கியத்திலும் இதே செய்தி வருகிறது. ஒரு வால் நட்சத்திரம் தோன்றிய பின்னர் ஒரு சேர மன்னன் இறப்பார் என்று புலவர் கவி பாடினார். எதிர்பார்த்தபடியே அம் மன்னன் ஏழாம் நாளில் இறந்தான். மாபாரதத்திலும் போருக்கு முன் தூமகேது தோன்றியது.

இதோ புறநானுற்றில் உள்ள பாடல்:

பாரி வள்ளளின் பெருமையைப் பாடும் கபிலன் அந்த நாட்டில் “மைம்மீன் புகையினும், தூமம் தோன்றினும்,, தென் திசை மருங்கின் வெள்ளி ஓடினும்” (பொருள்: சனிக் கிரகம் புகை போல மங்கிக் காணப்படினும், தூமகேது (வால் நட்சத்திரம்) தோன்றினும், வெள்ளி கிரகம் தென்  திசை நோக்கிச் சென்றாலும்) மழை பொய்க்காது என்கிறார். ஆக கபிலரும் தூமகேது தோன்றினால் கெடுதிகள் வரும் என்பதை அறிந்திருந்தார்.

புறநானுற்றில கூடலூக் கிழார் பாடிய பாடல் எண் 229ல்:

ஆடு இயல் அழல் குட்டத்து

ஆர் இருள் அரை இரவில்

முடப்பனையத்து வேர் முதலாக்

கடைக் குளத்துக் கயம் காய

பங்குனி உயர் அழுவத்துத்

தலை நாள்மீன் திரிய…………..

கனை எரி பரப்பக், கால் எதிர்பு பொங்கி

ஒரு மீன் வீழ்ந்தன்றால், விசும்பினானே………….. (புறம் 229)

 

அதாவது தூமகேது ஒன்று தோன்றிய ஏழாம் நாளில் சேரமான் யானைக்கட் சேய் மாந்தரஞ் சேரல் இரும்பொறை இறந்து விடுவான் என்று கூடலூர்க் கிழார் அஞ்சினார். அதன்படியே அவன் இறந்துபட்டவுடன் புலவர் பாடிய பாடல் இது. சிலர் இதை எரிகல் விழுந்தது என்பர். தினமும் பூமியில் பல்லாயிரக் கணக்கான எரிகற்கள் விழ்வதால் பல அறிஞர்கள் இதை தூம கேது என்றே விளக்கியுள்ளனர்.

பாரதியாரின் வால் நட்சத்திரப் பாடல்

சாதாரண வருஷத்து தூமகேது (1910) என்ற பெயரில் பாரதியார் வால் நட்சத்திரப் பாட்டு இருக்கிறது.இது ஹாலியின் வால் நட்சத்திரம் வந்தபோது எழுதிய பாடல்:

தினையின் மீது பனை நின்றாங்கு

மணிச்சிறு மீன்மிசை வளர்வால் ஒளிதரக்

கீழ்த்திசை வெள்ளியை கேண்மை கொண்டிலங்கும்

தூமகேதுச் சுடரே வாராய்!

எண்ணில் பல் கோடி யோசனை எல்லை

எண்ணிலா மென்மை இயன்றதோர் வாயுவால்

புணைந்த நின்னொடு வால் போவது என்கின்றார்

மண்  அகத்தினையும் வால் கொடு தீண்டி

ஏழையர்க்கு ஏதும் இடர் செய்யாதே நீ

போதி என்கின்றார்; புதுமைகள் ஆயிரம்

நினைக்குறித்து அறிஞர் நிகழ்த்துகின்றனரால்.

பாரத நாட்டில் பரவிய எம்மனோர்

நூற்கணம் மறந்து பன் நூறாண்டாயின!

உனதியல் அன்னியர் உரைத்திடக் கேட்டே

தெரிந்தனம்; எம்முளே தெளிந்தவர் ஈங்கிலை.

வாராய் சுடரே! வார்த்தை சில கேட்பேன்;

தீயர்க்கெல்லாம் தீமைகள் விளைத்துத்

தொல் புவியதனை துயர்க்கடலில் ஆழ்த்தி நீ

போவை என்கின்றார்; பொய்யோ, மெய்யோ?

ஆதித் தலைவி ஆணையின்படி நீ

சலித்திடும் தன்மையால், தண்டம் நீ செய்வது

புவியினைப் புனிதமாய்ப் புனைதற்கே என

விளம்புகின்றனர், அது மெய்யோ பொய்யோ?

ஆண்டு ஓர் எழுபத்தைந்தினில் ஒரு முறை

மண்ணை நீ அணுகும் வழக்கினை யாயினும்

இம்முறை வரவினால் எண்ணிலாப் புதுமைகள்

விளையும் என்கின்றார்; மெய்யோ பொய்யோ?

 

சித்திகள் பலவும், சிறந்திடு ஞானமும்

மீட்டும் எம்மிடை நின் வரவினால் விளைவதாப்

புகலுகின்றனர்; அது பொய்யோ, மெய்யோ?

பி.பி.சி.( BBC Tamil Service) தமிழோசையில் சுவாமிநாதன் பதில்கள்

பி.பி.சி. தமிழோசை ப்ரொட்யூசராக (Producer) நான் வேலை பார்த்த காலத்தில் வினவுங்கள் விடைதருவோம் என்ற கேள்வி பதில் நிகழ்ச்சி நடத்தினேன். அந்தக் கேள்வி பதில்கள் அனைத்தும் வினவுங்கள் விடைதருவோம் என்ற அதே பெயரில் புத்தகமாக வந்தது. அதில் வால் நட்சத்திரம் பற்றிய கேள்விக்கு அளித்த பதிலில் இருந்து சில பகுதிகள்:

1.வால் நட்சத்திரங்களும் சூரிய மண்டலத்தைச் (Solar System) சேர்ந்தவைதான். ஆனால் இவைகள் நீள் வட்டப் பாதையில் சுற்றுகின்றன.

2.இதற்கு தலை, தலையின் நடுவே உட்கரு, வால் (Head, Nucleus and Tail) என்ற மூன்று பகுதிகள் உண்டு. சூரிய மண்டலம் உருவான காலத்தில் கிரகங்களாக உருவாகாமல் எஞ்சிய விண்துகள்களே இப்படி தூமகேது ஆயின.

3.உட்கரு என்பது தூசியாலும் பனிக்கட்டியாலும் ஆனது. அதைச் சுற்றி வாயுக்கள் இருக்கும்

4.சூரியனில் இருந்து தொலைவில் இருக்கும்போது உட்கரு மட்டுமே இருக்கும். சூரியனை நெருங்கியவுடன் அது ஆவி ஆகி வாயுக்களும் வாலும் தோன்றும்

5.சூரியனை நெருங்கும்போது வால் பிரகாசமாகத் தெரியும், தொலைவில் செல்லுகையில் மங்கி மறைந்துவிடும்

6.எட்மண்ட் ஹாலி (Edmund Halley) என்பவர் கண்டு பிடித்த ஒரு தூமகேதுவுக்கு அவர் பெயர் சூட்டபட்டது. அது 76 ஆண்டுக்கு ஒரு முறை நமக்குத் தோன்றும்.

7.பூமியில் உயிரினங்கள் தோன்றவும் நோய்க்கிருமிகள் பரவவும் வால் நட்சத்திரங்கள் காரணமாக இருக்கலாம் என்று   சிலர் கருதுகின்றனர்.

8.மூன்றேகால் ஆண்டுக்கு ஒரு முறை பூமிக்கு அருகில் வரும் என்கே (Encke)யும் இரண்டரைக் கோடி ஆண்டுகளுக்கு ஒருமுறை வரும் டெலாவ(Delavan)னும் ஆச்சரியம் நிறைந்தவை.

9.சில தூமகேதுக்கள் கிரகங்களின் ஈர்ப்புவிசையால் பிளவுபடும்

10.லட்சக் கணக்கில் இவை இருந்தாலும் அத்தனையும் பூமிக்கு அருகில் வாரா.

11.இவற்றின் தலை, வால் ஆகியன பல கோடி மைல் அகலம், நீளம் உடையவை.

12.இவற்றை யார் முதலில் பார்க்கிறார்களோ அவர்களின் பெயரே சூட்டப்படும். ஒரே வால் நட்சத்திரத்தை மூன்று ஜப்பானியர்கள் கண்டு பிடித்துச் சொன்னதால் அதற்கு டாகோ—சாடோ—கொசாகா (Tago—Sat0—Kosaka) என்று பெயர் சூட்டினர்.

13.சேகி (Seki) என்ற ஜப்பானியர் இரண்டு வால் நட்சத்திரங்களைக் கண்டுபிடித்துச் சொன்னதால் இரண்டுக்கும் அவருடைய பெயரையே சூட்டினர்.

வால் நட்சத்திரம் தோன்றினால் அரசர்க்கோ நாட்டிற்கோ தீங்கு நேரிடும் என்பதை விஞ்ஞானிகள் ஏற்பதில்லை.. நவம்பர் வரை நாம் பொறுத்திருந்து பார்ப்போம். ஜோதிடர்களுக்கும் ஆரூடக்கார்களுக்கும் நல்ல ‘பிசினஸ்’ நடக்கும்!
