(This article follows my Nine Part Series on Vedic Plants posted in the past nine days)

All of us know that the Rigveda is the oldest book in the world. It mentioned Four Principal Plants, yet to be identified .And there are many more unidentified plants  too. No one is able to identify Soma, the king of the Plant kingdom. Like deciphering the Indus- Sarasvati Valley script several people “identified” Soma plant and declared that they are all IDIOTS. If anyone can identify it and make juice out of it, then that person can make millions of rupees every second.

Since they are all fake identifications not even a single person tried it.

Let me first list the unidentified plants in the Vedas:

The botanical knowledge of the Vedic society gave a big slap on the face of the Max Muller gang. The Western Idiots maintained that the Hindus came from outside India But the plants in the Vedas such as Sugarcane, Banyan tree (described as Maha Vrksha in the Rig Veda) and sesame plant, SOMA etc show that the Hindus were born and brought up in the country.

Those who identified Matha with Mother, Pita with Father, Bratha with Brother, Hora with hour , were unable to find similar plant or word to SOMA in any European language. Once again the linguists also showed that they are ignoramuses. There are thousands of references to Soma and its miraculous and magical properties.

Mention of over 160 plants in the Vedic literature shows that the Ayurveda is the oldest medical system in the world. Another wonderful thing is that it is followed until this day.

The difficulty in the identification proved one more thing. Vedas are very ancient and no one can find its date.

Orthodox Hindus recite Vishnu Sahasranamam everyday where three Ficus species (Banyan, Peepal, Fig) are portrayed as Vishnu.

Millions of Hindus recite Mrtyunjaya Mantra from Rudram of Yajur Veda, where they use Urvaruka (cucumber plant) in a simile everyday.

Hundreds of flowers and leaves are mentioned as Puja materials in later literature. All these stands as proof for Indian origin of Vedas and its religion. No culture use WATER like Hindus from Birth to Death. That is also another proof for Tropical origin of Hinduism

At least 26 plants are mentioned in the Rig Veda. Rest of the 160++ plants are in Atharva Veda or later Samhitas. That shows Ayur Veda began at least 3000 to 6000 years ago. Atharva Veda was used as a medical book.

More research is required to identify the forty unidentified plants listed above. By identifying them we may add valuable information to the Ayurveda.

Plants like black pepper show that the Hindus in the remotest North knew South India very well. Even Panini mentioned the black pepper that came from South.

Botanical research and ethnic plant research will show that the Vedic Hindus are the sons of the soil.

Sugar is found in the Rig Veda and the Indus Valley! Sandal of South India is through out Sanskrit literature. No  Society except Hindus use Sesame (Til) seeds .
