01) உலகின் ஆதி நூல் பிறந்த இடம் பாரதம் தான். இவை வேதங்கள் எனப் படுகின்றன. ஆச்சரியமான விஷயம், இவை அனைத்தும் என்று பிறந்ததோ அதே வடிவில், அதே உச்சரிப்புடன் , வாய் மொழியாகவே பரம்பரை பரம்பரையாக வந்து இன்றளவும் காக்கப்பட்டு வருகின்றன!
02) உலகின் மாபெரும் இதிஹாஸங்கள் பாரதத்திலேயே தோன்றியுள்ளன. அவையாவன: 1) மஹாபாரதம் 2) ராமாயணம்.
கிரேக்க இதிஹாஸங்களான இலியட் மற்றும் ஒடிஸியை விடப் பெரியது மஹாபாரதம்!
03) தேசம் என்ற கருத்தை மிகச் சாதாரணமாக நமது முன்னோர்கள் கூறி விட்டனர். “மாதா பூமிஹி, புத்ரோஹம் ப்ருதிவ்யாஹ” – “இந்த பூமியே நமது அன்னை; நான் இதன் புதல்வன்” – இந்தக் கருத்தை பன்னெடுங்காலம் முன்பே கூறிய பூமி பாரதமே!
04) நமது பழம் பெரும் புராணமான பாகவதம் கூறுகிறது : “கோடிக்கணக்கான ஆண்டுகள் சுவர்க்கத்தில் வாழ்வதை விட ஒரு சில கணங்கள் பாரதத்தில் வாழ்வது சாலச் சிறந்தது”
05) பல தத்துவங்கள், பல மொழிகளைப் பேசுவோர் இணக்கமாக வாழும் நம ஒருமைப் பாட்டை பழம் பெரும் வேதமான அதர்வண வேதம் கூறி இருக்கிறது :”நமது இந்த அன்னை பூமி பல மொழிகளைப் பேசுவோருக்கும், பல தத்துவங்களைப் பின்பற்றுவோருக்கும் சமமான புகலிடத்தைத் தருகிறது.”

06) உலக அன்னை இந்தியா
நம் இனத்தின் தாயகம் பாரதம். ஐரோப்பிய மொழிகளுக்கெல்லாம் தாய் சம்ஸ்கிருதம். நம் தத்துவ சாஸ்திரத்தின் தாய் இந்தியா. கிறிஸ்துவ சமய லட்சியங்களுக்கெல்லாம், புத்தரின் மூலம் உதவிய தாய் இந்தியா. சுய ஆட்சிக்கும் ஜனநாயகத்திற்கும், கிராம சமுதாயத்தின் மூலம் வழிகாட்டிய தாய் இந்தியா. இந்திய மாதா நம் அனைவருக்கும் அநேக வழிகளில் தாய்.

அமர்நாத் பனிலிங்க தரிசனம் ‘டிவி‘யில் நேரடி ஒளிபரப்பு
ஜம்மு – காஷ்மீர் யூனியன் பிரதேசத்தின் இமயமலையில் உள்ள அமர்நாத் குகையில் ஆண்டு தோறும் ஜூன் – ஆகஸ்ட் மாதங்களில் பனி லிங்க வடிவில் சிவபெருமான் அருள்பாலித்து வருகிறார். இந்த பனி லிங்கத்தை தரிசிக்க ஆண்டுதோறும் நாடு முழுதும் இருந்து லட்சக்கணக்கான பக்தர்கள் அமர்நாத் யாத்திரை மேற்கொள்வது வழக்கம்.

இந்தியாவில் பல வழக்குகளில் தேடப்படும் சாமியார் நித்யானந்தா வெளிநாட்டுக்கு தப்பி ஓடி விட்டார். அவர் ஒரு தீவை விலைக்கு வாங்கி கைலாசா என பெயர் சூட்டி இருப்பதாக தகவல் வெளியானது. சமூக வலைத்தளங்களில் அவர் தனது சீடர்களுடன் சத்சங்கம் மூலம் உரையாடி வருகிறார். அவரது சொற்பொழிவுகள் அடிக்கடி வைரலாகி பரபரப்பை ஏற்படுத்தி வருகின்றன.
அவர் தான் உருவாக்கிய கைலாசா நாட்டுக்கு ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையில் அங்கீகாரம் பெறும் முயற்சியிலும் ஈடுபட்டு வருவதாக தகவல்கள் வெளிவந்தன.
கைலாசா நாட்டை யூனியன் பிரதேசமாக ஐ.நா.சபை அங்கீகாரம் வழங்கி இருப்பதாக அவரது பக்தர்கள் சமூக வலைதளங்களில் கொண்டாடி வருகின்றனர். இதுதொடர்பாக அவர்கள் வெளியிடும் பதிவுகளில் ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையின் பெண்களுக்கு எதிரான பாகுபாட்டை ஒழிப்பதற்கான குழு கைலாசா நாட்டை அங்கீகரித்துள்ளதாக குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளனர்.
இதுதொடர்பாக நித்யானந்தாவும் வீடியோவில் பேசியுள்ளார். அதில் அவர் கூறியிருப்பதாவது:- விவேகானந்தரும் விரும்பினார், யோகா நந்தரும் இயங்கினார், அரவிந்த்தரும் வாழ்வெல்லாம் அலறி துடித்து முயற்சித்தார். சதாசிவன் செய்து முடித்தார். ராமகிருஷ்ணன், விவேகானந்தர், யோகாநந்தர், அரவிந்தர், காஞ்சன் காடபத்ம ராமதாஸ், ரமண மகரிஷி போன்ற எல்லோரும் செய்த ஒரு கலெக்டிவ் முயற்சி. சதாசிவன் அருளால் இப்போது நித்யானந்தன் நிறைவேற்றி இருக்கிறார். இது உங்கள் வாழ்க்கையின் நோக்கம் அல்ல. மனித உயிர் வாழ்க்கையின் நோக்கம் அல்ல. உயிர் இனத்தின் நோக்கத்தை நிறைவேற்றுகின்றான்.
இவ்வாறு அதில் கூறி உள்ளார்.

சர்வதேச சுற்றுலா மையமாகிறது அயோத்தி!
அயோத்தி: அயோத்தியில் சரயு நதியில் தீபாவளி பண்டிகை முதல், படகு சவாரி துவங்கும் என்றும், சர்வதேச தரத்தில் பிரமாண்ட விமான நிலையம் அமைக்கப்படும் என்றும், பிரதமர் மோடியிடம், உத்தர பிரதேச அரசு தாக்கல் செய்த அயோத்தி வளர்ச்சி திட்ட அறிக்கையில் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
உ.பி., மாநிலம் அயோத்தியில் ராமர் கோவில் கட்ட, உச்ச நீதிமன்றம் அனுமதி அளித்ததையடுத்து, அங்கு பிரமாண்ட கோவில் கட்டப்பட்டு வருகிறது. இதையடுத்து அயோத்தியை சர்வதேச ஆன்மிக சுற்றுலா தலமாக மாற்ற, பல கோடி ரூபாய் செலவில் வளர்ச்சி திட்டங்களை மேற்கொள்ள மாநில அரசு திட்டமிட்டுள்ளது.
அயோத்தி வளர்ச்சி திட்டங்கள் குறித்து முதல்வர் ஆதித்யநாத் மற்றும் அதிகாரிகளுடன், பிரதமர் மோடி சமீபத்தில் ஆய்வு செய்தார். அப்போது அயோத்தியில் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட உள்ள திட்டங்கள் அடங்கிய அறிக்கையை பிரதமரிடம் ஆதித்யநாத் சமர்ப்பித்தார்.
அதில் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டிருந்ததாவது: * அயோத்தியில் ராமர் பெயரில் பிரமாண்டமான சர்வதேச விமான நிலையம் அமைக்கப்பட உள்ளது. அத்துடன், அயோத்தியில் ஓடும் சரயு நதியில் தீபாவளி பண்டிகை முதல், படகு சவாரியை துவக்குவதற்கான நடவடிக்கைகள் எடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன
* ராமபிரான் 14 ஆண்டுகள் காட்டில் வாழ்ந்ததை நினைவுப்படுத்தும் வகையில், அயோத்தியில் அரசு – தனியார் பங்களிப்புடன் சரயு நதிக்கரையில், ‘ராமாயண் வனம்’ உருவாக்கப்பட உள்ளது
* மேலும், 1,200 ஏக்கரில் ‘வேதிக்’ நகரம் அமைக்கப்பட உள்ளது. அங்கு டில்லி சாணக்யா புரியில் உள்ளது போல், மாநில மற்றும் வெளிநாட்டு இல்லங்கள் அமைக்கப்பட உள்ளன
* உலகத்தரம் வாய்ந்த ரயில் நிலையம் அமைக்கப்படுவதுடன், அயோத்தியில் தினமும் இரண்டு லட்சம்பக்தர்கள் வந்து தங்குவதற்கான வசதிகளும் செய்யப்பட உள்ளன
* ராமர் கோவில் கட்டி கும்பாபிஷேகம் நடக்கும் போது, அயோத்தியின் முகமே முற்றிலும் மாறியிருக்கும். இவ்வாறு அதில் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

ஜகா‘ திரைப்பட போஸ்டர் விவகாரம்; மன்னிப்பு கேட்டார் இயக்குனர்

கடந்த சில ஆண்டுகளாக ஹிந்து கடவுள்களையும், மத நம்பிக்கை களையும் கேலி செய்யும் விதமாக சினிமா எடுத்து வருகின்றனர். தற்போது ஓம் டாக்கிஸ் நிறுவனம் தயாரிப்பில் இயக்குனர் விஜயமுருகன், நடிகர் ‘ஆடுகளம்’ முருகதாஸ், சாய் பாஸ்கர் இசையில், விளம்பர வடிவமைப்பு ஜோசப் ஜாக்சன் ஆகியோர் வெளியிட்டுள்ள ‘ஜகா’ திரைப்பட போஸ்டரில் ஹிந்துக்கள் போற்றி வணங்கும் சிவபெருமானுக்கு முகக்கவசம், ஆக்சிஜன் சிலிண்டர் போன்றவைகளுடன் தோன்றியுள்ளார்.
இதற்கு ஹிந்து மக்கள் கடும் எதிர்ப்பு தெரிவித்து வருகின்றனர்.சென்னை பாரத் முன்னணி நிறுவன தலைவர் சிவாஜி கூறியதாவது: ‘ஜகா’ என்ற திரைப்படத்தின் போஸ்டர் ஒட்டுமொத்த ஹிந்து மக்களின் மனதை காயப்படுத்தும். மத உணர்வை புண்படுத்தும். இந்திய இறையாண்மைக்கு எதிராக, மத நல்லிணக்கத்திற்கு குந்தகம் விளைவிக்கும் வகையில் குரோத எண்ணத்துடன் வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. எனவே, சர்ச்சைக்குரிய போஸ்டரை வெளியிட்ட ஓம் டாக்கீஸ் நிறுவனம் உரிய விளக்கம் அளித்து, ஒட்டு மொத்த ஹிந்துக்கள், சிவ பக்தர்களிடம் மன்னிப்பு கேட்க வேண்டும். இல்லையெனில் பட நிறுவனம், தயாரிப்பாளர் ஆறுபடையான் மீது வழக்கு தொடரப்படும், என்றார்.பட போஸ்டருக்கு தொடர்ந்து பல தரப்பினரும் கண்டனம் தெரிவித்ததையடுத்து பட இயக்குனர் ஆர்.விஜயமுருகன் மன்னிப்பு கேட்டார்.

கோவில்களை குறிவைத்து இடிப்பதா ? கோவையில் இந்து முன்னணியினர் போராட்டம்
கோவையில் இந்து கோவில்களை மட்டும் குறிவைத்து இடிப்பதாக மாநகராட்சியை கண்டித்து முற்றுகை போராட்டம் நடத்த இந்து முன்னணியினர் முயன்றதால் பரபரப்பு ஏற்பட்டது.
கோவையில் ஸ்மார்ட் சிட்டி திட்டத்திற்காக மாநகராட்சியினர் இந்து கோவில்களை குறிவைத்து இடிப்பதாக இந்து முன்னணியினர் குற்றம் சாட்டினர். இதனை எதிர்த்து டவுன்ஹால் பகுதியில் இந்து முன்னணி கட்சியினர் மாநகராட்சி அலுவலகத்தை முற்றுகையிடும் போராட்டம் நடத்துவதாக அறிவித்தன. ஆனால், இப்போராட்டத்திற்கு போலீசார் அனுமதி அளிக்க மறுத்தனர். இதனையடுத்து, கோவை மாநகராட்சி அலுவலகத்தின் முன்பு, இந்து முன்னணி கட்சியை சேர்ந்தவர்கள் குவிந்தனர். அப்போது, மசூதிகளை இடிக்காமல் இந்து கோவில்களை மட்டும் மாநகராட்சி குறிவைத்து இடிப்பதாக முறையிட்டனர்.

இந்நூலை சதாபிஷேக தம்பதிகளின் திருக்குமாரர் வடமொழிப்பேராசிரியர், டாக்டர் வீ. அபிராமசுந்தர சிவம் அவர்கள் தமிழுரையுடன் ஆக்கினார்.

The Vishva Hindu Parishad has elected Rabindra Narain Singh, an orthopaedic surgeon and a Padma Shri awardee, as its new president on Saturday. Singh replaced 82-year-old Vishnu Sadashiv Kokje, who has been in the post since April 2018.
“Kokje ji is now 82 years old. He wanted to be relieved of his responsibilities as the VHP president. The election has been conducted as per his wishes and our constitution,” VHP’s joint general secretary Surendra Jain said at a press conference.
Rabindra Narain Singh was the vice president of VHP. In 2010, he received Padma Shri for his contribution to the field of medical sciences. Elections were also held for the post of the general secretary and Milind Parande, the outfit’s current general secretary, was unanimously re-elected.
During the meeting, the outfit discussed the “condition of Hindus” in Haryana’s Mewat and issued a statement demanding that the state government must ensure “protection of Hindus” in the Muslim-dominated region.
Jain said Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, after visiting Mewat last year, had announced that his government would bring a law against forced religious conversion, effectively implement the law against cow slaughter, constitute a Dharmada Board to look after the religious estate of Hindu-minority areas and set up a camp of paramilitary forces in Mewat district.
“It has been a year since his announcement, but nothing has yet been done so far,” the VHP leader said while appealing to the Haryana chief minister to act on his promises “to establish rule of law” in Mewat.

Lucknow University to get new faculty on Shaivism
The Academic Council of Lucknow University has approved setting up of a new faculty by upgrading the status of Abhinavagupt Institute of Aesthetics and Shaiva Philosophy.
The council also approved new courses from next session.
The Abhinavagupt Institute of Aesthetics and Shaiva Philosophy, named after the philosopher, mystic and aesthetician from Kashmir, was constituted in LU for research in Shaivism.
Till now, it was an autonomous institute, but now it will have faculty status. The institute will have more power and resources for teaching and research. It will run a full-fledged paper on Shaiva Philosophy and Aesthetics in MA (Sanskrit) course and conduct doctoral studies.
This is LU’s eleventh faculty. Other faculties include arts, science, commerce, law, education, fine arts, engineering, Unani, ayurveda and yoga and alternative medicine.

748 acres deleted from records of Simhachalam Temple says the Inquiry team
The three-member inquiry committee constituted by the Special Commissioner of Endowments to probe irregularities in Simhachalam temple and MANSAS lands in Andhra Pradesh, has gathered evidence to prove that 748 acres belonging to Simhachalam temple were deleted from 22A of the records in 2016. The committee completed its inquiry into the temple lands on Tuesday. It went to Vizianagaram on Wednesday to probe the issue of MANSAS lands.
The committee comprising Deputy Commissioner E Pushpavardhan,and two more members , visited Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in the morning and verified the land records. Pushpavardhan told TNIE that there was a prima facie case even before they began inquiry into the temple lands.
“We have gathered all the evidence with regard to irregularities in the land records. The deletion of lands from Section 22A, which prohibits sale and fresh registration, was done in 2016. Though the temple executive officer was not empowered to delete the lands from 22A, the then EO had done it,” Pushpavardhan said.
“No constructions have been taken up in the said land and the entire land in question is located in Visakhapatnam district,’’ he said, adding that the inquiry went on smoothly as the land records of both Simhachalam temple and MANSAS were digitised.

Drop one-child norm from draft population policy, VHP tells UP govt
Raising concern over the draft Uttar Pradesh population control bill released by the state law commission Friday, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has asked the panel to delete the one-child norm from the draft.
In a letter to the UP Law Commission, Alok Kumar, working president of the VHP, said they have read the draft of the UP Population (Control, Stabilization and Welfare) Bill, 2021 inviting suggestions for modification.
“The preamble of the Bill states that this is a Bill (6) inter alia to stabilize the population and (ii) promotion of two child norm. The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) agrees with both objects.” the letter says.
However, the VHP has raised objections to Sections of the bill that “incentivise public servants and others to have only one child in the family go well beyond the said objectives”.
The Uttar Pradesh government released the first draft of the proposed ‘UP Population (Control, Stabilization, and Welfare) Bill, 2021’ Friday and has invited suggestions from the public by 19 July.
The proposed law offers multiple incentives to families that follow the two-child norm. This includes two additional increments during service for government employees, subsidised purchase of plot or house, and 3 per cent increase in EPF.
There is more on offer for those who have just one child, including two additional increments and free healthcare for the child till he/she attains the age of 20 years. A single child will also be given preference for admission in all education institutions.
Special incentives for parents who have only two children, and restrictions from availing of government schemes for those who have three or more — these are among the provisions of the draft Uttar Pradesh population control bill released by the state law commission Friday.
The draft bill proposes some stringent measures to restrict couples from having more than two children, and promises cheaper home loans and free education for voluntary sterilisation.
Those who follow the proposed two-child norm would be offered incentives like tax rebates.

Uttar Pradesh govt cancels Kanwar Yatra
Kanwar yatra is an annual pilgrimage of Shiva devotees, known as Kanwariyas, to Haridwar, Gaumukh and Gangotri in Uttarakhand to fetch Ganga waters to anoint lord Shiva lingams at Shiva Temples at their respective places.
On Friday, the Supreme court gave the state government time till Monday to reconsider its decision of going ahead with allowing the pilgrimage.
While asking the UP government to reconsider allowing even a symbolic physical yatra this year, the apex court on Friday had underlined that “the health of the citizenry of India and their right to ‘life’ are paramount”.
Meanwhile, the Centre, in reply to the court notice, said that the states, instead of allowing the Yatra, must make arrangements to supply Gangajal to devotees at designated locations.
The Uttarakhand government on Tuesday too suspended the Kanwar Yatra amid threats of a possible third wave of Covid-19.

Varieties of flowers weighing about one ton are used to create this colourful palanquin by 15 florists for three days. The palanquin carried the images of Sri Rama, Sri Krishna and anjaneya Swamy which stood as a special attraction.

Bonalu festivities in Telangana
The annual Ashada Bonalu festivities commenced at the Goddess Jagadamba Temple atop the Golconda Fort in Hyderabad on Sunday with the offering of Bonam in a decorated brass pot to the deity. Ministers A Indrakaran Reddy and Talasani Srinivas Yadav, and Hyderabad Deputy Mayor Srilatha Reddy presented silk robes to the Goddess on behalf of the Telangana State government
As part of the festival, a colourful procession was taken out from Langer Houz to the Golconda Fort. Women in colourful robes carried the ‘bonam’ on their heads to the temple.
Sri Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu on July 25
The famous Sri Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu celebrations at Secunderabad will be held on July 25 and in Hyderabad including Old City on August 1. The Telangana government gave the status of ‘State festival’ to Bonalu after the formation of the new State in June 2014.
Bonalu is celebrated to ward off diseases and usher in good health, peace and prosperity.

Nineteen Dialogue poems in the Rig Veda spreading over several Mandalas of the Veda shows that Dance and Drama existed at the Vedic period.

Then we have Vajasaneyi Samhita (Yajur Veda) and Taittiriya brahmana references to Sailusaa which later meant an actor following the tradition of Silaalin, the author of a nata sutra . Sailusaa has the same meaning in the Vedas. Panini referred to nata sutras.
The Natyacharya or the instructor in the theatrical arts was a recognised figure , popular but not approved by the law books. Baudhaayana dharmasutra condemned Natyacharya as a minor defilement.2-25
We have good evidence to state that the drama originated in India during Vedic period. In the beginning dance and drama were inseparable. 100 or 150 years ago drama meant songs with stories. It was easy to memorise them and pass it on to his or her disciples. Later prose was introduced as links between the songs so that one can have a break and start again.
We have evidence in the Tamil epic Silapaadikaram where we have dance and drama elements in the story. Indra festival was the one where the dance of Madhavi was staged. We see in Bharata’s Natya Shastra that the Indra Festival was suggested to enact the dance dramas. More over we read about 11 different dances staged by Madhavi. All those were based on Hindu mythology. Silapaadikaram is dated second century CE . I would date Bharata’s Natya shastra well before this date
Indian drama has no connection with the Greek drama at least in its early stage. We have well defined roles such as a Brahmin as comedian, a director who introduces the drama at the outset. Apart from this we have Bharatavakya (Benedictory Message) at the end. This is the like a national anthem wishing the king a long life and the people and the country a prosperous life. After Alexander’s invasion new elements might have been introduced, because Greeks also had well developed dramas.
Going back in time we have at least 19 dialogue poems in the Rig Veda. Some of the dialogue poems are comparable with the folk dances of the Tamils. During the Holi festival, that is known as Kaman Pandikai in South India, some sexy folk dances were staged in street corners at the dead of night. Tamil epic Silapaadikaram has lot of information about dance dramas . After Rigveda, we have good evidence in Paninis Ashtadhyayi and Kautilya’s Arthasastra. There is a gap of at least three hundred years between the Ashtadhyayi and Arthasastra.
Panini talk about Nata sutras, which scholars think, was a guide book or practical hand book for actors (Ashtadhyayi 4-3-110). We could not expect much from a grammar book like Ashtadhyayi. But Kautilya who came at least 300 years after Panini gives lot of information about dance and drama.
Patanjali , author of Mahabhashya ,refers to the enacted spectacle of Killing of Kamsa by Vasudeva. He refers to actors and fans.
Dance drama did not exist in Krta Yuga. It came only in Treta Yuga gaaccording to Bharata. We see Lava Kusa enacting Ramayana. Later that Kusi Lava become a model for future Kusi Lavas.
The Arthasastra clearly distinguished between actors/Nata, dancers/nartaka, singers/gayakas, instrumentalists/ vadakas, story tellers/vajivana,bards/kusilavas, rope dancers/ plavakas, show men/saubhikas and wandering ministrels/caranas. This shows well developed and differentiated stage of performing arts. This is confirmed by Kautilya’s reference to the diverse arts/ Kala taught to the women who lived by the stage/Rangopajivini.
Kama sutra of Vatsyayana also gave a big syllabus for women with 64 arts. Tamil Sangam Literature mentioned Arya kuuthaadi meaning the pole/rope dancers visiting Tamil Nadu from North India. Silappadikaram also mentioned 64 arts.
Half baked foreigners try to place 1000s of books dealing with subjects from A to Z within four centuries i.e. Second century BCE and second century CE. I is not possible to see such explosion.
But the above information gives us a clear picture of gradual development.

சென்னையில் பிறந்த ஆர்.கே.என்., பாட்டியின் கவனிப்பில் வளர்ந்தார். பாட்டியின் கதைகளைக் கேட்டு பிற்காலத்தில் அதே பாணியில் , எளிய நடையில் எழுதினார். சென்னையிலும் மைசூரில் மஹாராஜா கல்லூரியிலும் பயின்றார். பின்னர் ஆசிரியராகப் பணியாற்றினார்.அதற்குப்பின்னர் முழு நேர எழுத்தாளர் ஆனார்.
ராஜம் என்பவரை காதல் திருமணம் செய்துகொண்டார் ; அவர் ஐந்தே ஆண்டுகளில் இறந்தது பெரிய அடியாக விழுந்தது. மறுமணம் செய்துகொள்ள மறுத்தார்.1994-ல் ஹேமா என்ற புதல்வியை இழந்தது இரண்டாவது அடியாக விழுந்தது. பரீட்சைகளில் இரு முறை தோல்வி. அதில் ஓர் முறை ஆங்கிலத்தில்!!
இவருடைய 11 நாவல்கள், மால்குடி என்னும் கற்பனைக் கிராமத்தை தளமாகக் கொண்டது. ஒரு இந்துவுக்கு எவையெல்லாம் மதிப்பும் மரியாதைக்கும் உரியனவோ அவற்றையெல்லாம் மாற்றாரும் மதிக்கும் வகையில் எழுதிய மஹா புருஷன். ஏனைய இந்திய எழுத்தாளர்கள் இந்தியாவைக் கிண்டலும் கேலியும் செய்யும் ஆணவம் மிக்க ஆங்கில அடிவருடிகள்.

தி கைடு THE GUIDE என்னும் இவருடைய நாவல் மிகச் சிறந்ததாகக் கருதப்படுகிறது. இதில் நகைச்சுவையும் உண்டு; சோகமும் உண்டு. ஒரு மோசடிக்காரன் எப்படி புனிதன் ஆகிறான் என்ற கதை இது.
இவருடைய மால்குடி டேய்ஸ் MALGUDI DAYS கதை டெலிவிஷனில் காட்டப்பட்டவுடன் அதுவரை இவரை அறியாதோரும் இவரை அறிய வாய்ப்புக்கிட்டியது.
ஆர்.கே.என். கதைகளில் அப்பாவி மக்களை சந்திக்கும் அதே நேரத்தில் ஆழமான இந்திய தத்துவத்தையும் அறிய முடியும். அவர் எழுதிய 15 நாவல்களில் மூன்று நாவல்கள் அவரது ஆற்றலின் உச்சத்தை எடுத்துக் காட்டுகின்றன.அவை The Financial Expert (1952), The Guide (1958), and The Man-Eater of Malgudi (1961).
ஏழு சகோதர சகோதரிகளுடன் பிறந்த இவருடைய தம்பி ஆர் கே லக்ஷ்மணன் RK LAXMAN இந்தியாவின் புகழ்பெற்ற கார்ட்டூனிஸ்ட் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
ஆர்.கே.என். தந்தை ஒரு பள்ளிக்கூட தலைமை ஆசிரியர். அங்குள்ள புஸ்தகங்களும் , ஆங்கில பத்திரிக்கைகளும் இவருடையய ஆங்கில அறிவை மேம்படுத்தின. வீட்டில் ஆங்கிலம் பேசினால் அதைத் தவறின்றி பேச வேண்டும் என்பது தந்தையின் கண்டிப்பான உத்தரவு .
1930ம் ஆண்டில் பட்டம் பெற்றார். ஆசிரியராக பணியாற்றப்போன ஆர்.கே.என். நாளே நாட்களில் வேலையை விட்டுவிட்டு ஓடிவந்தார்.
1930ம் ஆண்டில் அவர் பாட்டி தேர்ந்தெடுத்த ஒரு நல்ல நாளில் நோட்டுப் புஸ்க த்தைத் திறந்து வைத்துக்கொண்டு மனக் கண் முன்னர் என்ன வருகிறது என்று காத்துக் கொண்டிருந்த நேரத்தில் மால்குடி என்ற போர்டுடன் ஒரு ரயில்வே ஸ்டேஷன் தோன்றியது. அன்று முதல் அதை விடாப்பிடியாகப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டார்.
முதலில் இவர் நண்பர் மூலம் லண்டனில் நாவல்களை வெளியிட பலரை நாடினார் . ஒருவரும் முன்வரவில்லை. அந்த எழுத்துக் காகிதங்களை ஒரு கல்லோடு கட்டி தேம்ஸ் நதியில் மூழ்கடித்து விடுங்கள் என்று நண்பருக்கு எழுதினார். அவரோ கிரஹாம் க்ரீன் GRAHAM GREENE என்ற புகழ்பெற்ற எழுத்தாளரிடம் கொடுக்கவே அவர் ஒரு வெளியீட்டாளர் மூலம் முதல் நாவலை வெளியிட்டார். அப்போது முதல் கிரஹாம் க்ரீன் இவரது குரு ஆனார். எல்லா நாவல்களையும் அவருக்கு அனுப்பி, அவருடைய ஆலோசனைப்படி திருத்தினார். பெயரைக் கூட ஆர். கே. நாராயண் என்று சுருக்கிவைத்தது அவருடைய ஆலோசனையின் பேரில்தான்.
சில முறை இவரது பெயர் நோபல் பரிசுக்குப் பரிந்துரை செய்யப்பட்டது. அது எட்டாக் கனியானபோதும் உலகப் புகழ் பெற்ற பல இலக்கிய விருதுகளை வென்றார். உலகம் முழுதும் சுற்றுப்பயணம் செய்த நாட்களில் உலகப் புகழ் பெற்ற அத்தனை எழுத்தாளர்களையும் சந்தித்தார். இந்தியாவுக்குப் பெருமை தேடித்தந்த புகழ்மிகு எழுத்தாளர் ஆர்.கே.நாராயண்

Madra was the word for offering hair to god or in general shaving the hair on head .

Angel came from this word. ANGELS are depicted on both sides of God or God like person, as if they are worshipping ( In Greek it meant messenger). Greeks borrowed it from the Hindus. Throughout Hindu epics and Hindu puranas we read angels showered Pushpa Anjali . There also it meant God’s messengers.

In tamil also nuul means thread and book.
Earlier we saw sutra meant book and thread.
This shows the book culture spread from one common source

தமிழும் ஸம்ஸ்க்ருதமும் ஒரே மூலத்திலிருந்து வந்தவை என்பதைக்காட்ட இங்கு மேலும் ஒரு உதாரணம் / சான்று கிடைக்கிறது.
முன்னர் ‘சூத்திரம்’ என்றால் இரு மொழியிலும் நூல்/thread, புஸ்தகம்/book என்ற இரு பொருள் உள்ளதை பாத்தோம்.
இங்கு பாணினி தந்திரி/thread என்பதை நூலுக்கு பயன்படுத்துகிறார்.
இரு மொழியிலும் இது தைக்கும் நூலுக்கும்/thread, படிக்கும் நூலுக்கும்/book பயன்படுகிறது.
தந்து = நூல், தந்திரம் =புஸ்தகம்/ Tantra Shastras
Books are named with suffix Tantra.
