உலகில்
ஸம்ஸ்க்ருத மொழி பரவிய அளவுக்கு வேறு எந்த மொழியும் பரவியதில்லை என்பதற்கு
கல்வெட்டுகளே சான்று பகர்கின்றன. அலெக்ஸாண்டர் படையெடுப்பால் பரவிய கிரேக்க மொழியையும்
விட சம்ஸ்க்ருத மொழியின் தாக்கம் அதிகம். ஏனெனில் துருக்கியில் உள்ள பொகைஸ்கான்
களிமண் படிவக் கல்வெட்டுகள் முதல் வியட்நாம் கம்போடியா, இந்தோநேஷியா வரை சம்ஸ்க்ருதக்
கல்வெட்டுகளும் இலக்கியங்களும் உள்ளன. துருக்கி கல்வெட்டு முழுதும் சம்ஸ்க்ருதம்
இல்லாவிடினும் 3400 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்னர் வேத கால
தெய்வங்களின் பெயரில் கைச்சாத்திட்ட களிமண் கல்வெட்டு உளது. கிக்குலி எழுதிய
குதிரை சாஸ்திரம் ஸம்ஸ்க்ருத எண்களுடன் உள்ளது.
ஆகையால் காலத்தால் முந்தியவை. அளவிலும் ஸம்ஸ்க்ருத்தைத் தோற்கடிக்க எந்தக்
கல்வெட்டும் இல்லை. சம்பா எனப்படும் வியட்நாம், காம்போஜம்
எனப்படும் கம்போடியா, சாவகம் எனப்படும் இந்தோநேஷியாவில்
சுமார் 1000 ஸம்ஸ்க்ருதக் கல்வெட்டுகள் உள்ளன.
உப்பு, புளி, எண்ணைக் கணக்கு எழுதிய சுமேரிய கல்வெட்டுகள் எண்ணிக்கையில் அதிகம்
எனினும் அவை ஒரே இடத்தில் குவிந்துள்ளன. மேலும் இலக்கிய நயமற்றவை.

I visited Visveswaraya
Industrial and Technological Museum in Bengaluru on 14th September 2019 with my
brother S Nagarajan, who contributes regularly to our blogs. Bengaluru students
are lucky to have such a museum. I wish that I am reborn as a student. Normally
Hindus pray for Moksha, i.e. getting out of birth and death cycle and merging
with god. One Saivite saint said I should never be born again, but if I have to
be born again I should never forget You (Lord Shiva). In spite of reading such
philosophical statements, I still long to be born again because of the
educational facilities available now. When I studied B.Sc and M.A, whatever I
studied in the first year must be remembered until the third year examination
date. But one year after I came my brother who wrote exams in three months
modules. That means he has to remember a subject only for three months (for
exam sake)! And the books and libraries, google and internet, Museums and
seminars were not available 45 years ago.
After
visiting Visveswaraya museum, my feelings grew stronger to become a student
again and start from the scratch. The same feeling, I get every week when I go
to the British Library and University of London library in my home town London.
We saw thousands of Bengaluru students using the inter active devices to learn something new. The success of the museum lied in the inter active devices. This is a great fun for the students. Even I, 71 year old youth, was interested in becoming an astronaut and so I inserted my head into astronaut’s attire and became an astronaut in a minute (see the picture).
I and my
brother went into the Mirror Maze and struggled hard to come out. You will bump
into mirrors looking for exit (way out).
It is a very
educative and innovative museum. So people who visit Bengaluru must see this.
Whenever I visit a place, I always make it a point to visit the museums. My
Sambandhis (In laws) in Australia bought us expensive tickets for one day cricket
match between Australia and India in Sydney. My Sambandhi was surprised when I
told him that I would prefer to go to a Museum to study the Aborigines rather
than sitting in a stadium. Except me all our family members went to the cricket
match and I spent hours in museum and took pictures and posted them on Face
book and in my blogs.
The point I
am making is that many people don’t know the big treasures in museums in a
city. After 40 to 50 visits to Chennai I was successful in visiting Government
Museum in Madras this year. The Bronze Gallery there is worth billions of
dollars.

technology gallery in Visveswaraya Industrial and Technological Museum has

very good books and educational, scientific toys and games.
I felt I visited the Nobel Museum in Stockholm again. That also inspired me a lot. I would suggest to Visveswaraya Museum to follow some ideas in the shop there. I bought quotations on Fridge Magnets there when I went to Sweden. Quotations by Indian Nobel Laureates are also sold there.
One more
suggestion:- you cant come out of any museum in a western country without
seeing the shop. That is, the exit (Way out) is always through the shop. All Indian museums
must follow this business tactics. It will give them a big boost in sales. No
student in a western county comes out of a museum without buying a memento.
Pencils and pens, erasers and boxes, bags and cups would bear the pictures from
the museums. Please learn it from western countries. (In Bengaluru, I inquired
the location of the book shop and bought two puzzles).
One guide
book says the museum runs a mobile science exhibition that travels in the city throughout
the year.
Sir
Mokshagundam Visveswaraya (1861-1962) was one of the modern architects of
Karnataka. He was a civil engineer and a statesman. He was born on 15th
September 1861 and so September 15 every year is celebrated as National
Engineers Day to acknowledge his contributions to the country.

ராஜஸ்தானத்தின் வரலாறு, வீரம் மிக்க சுவையான வரலாறுகளுள் ஒன்று.
உயிரைத் துச்சமாக மதித்து முகலாயர்களுடனும் பிரிட்டிஷாருடனும்

அமர் சிங்கைத் தொடர்ந்து ஆட்சி
பீடம் ஏறிய சங்ராம் 1710 முதல் 1734 முடிய மேவாரை ஆண்டார். மேவார் தான் இழந்த பல பகுதிகளை
இவர் ஆட்சிக் காலத்தில் தான் மீட்டது.
ராணா சங்ராம் சிறந்த வீரர்.
மேதை. பட்சபாதமின்றி நீதி வழங்கியவர். ஒழுக்கம் விதிகள் என்பதில் மிகவும் கண்டிப்பானவர்.
இவரது வாழ்க்கையில் ஏராளமான
சுவையான நிகழ்ச்சிகள் உண்டு.
கொடாரியோவைச் சேர்ந்த அவரது
சிறந்த தளகர்த்தர்களுள் ஒருவரான சோஹன் என்பவர் ஒருமுறை ராணாவை அணுகினார்.
அரசவைக்கு வரும் போது அணிந்து வரும் உடையில் சில மடிப்புகளைச் சேர்க்க
வேண்டும் என்று அவர் ராணாவிடம் விண்ணப்பித்தார்.
இதை மறுக்க முடியாத ராணா அதற்கு
அங்கீகாரம் அளித்தார்.
மன்னரிடம் தனக்கு இருந்த செல்வாக்கை
எண்ணி மனம் மிக மகிழ்ந்த சோஹன் தன் இருப்பிடத்திற்குத் திரும்பினார்.
அவர் சென்ற பிறகு ராணா தன் அமைச்சரிடம்
சோஹனின் கட்டுப்பாட்டில் இருந்த இரு கிராமங்களின் சேமிப்பைத் தனிக் கணக்காக வைக்கச்
சொன்னார்.
இதை அறிந்த சோஹன் திகைத்தார்.
நேரடியாக ராணாவை அணுகினார். ‘எதற்காக தனது இரு கிராமங்களின் சேமிப்பைத் தனியாக வைக்க
வேண்டும், நான் ஏதேனும் தவறு செய்து விட்டேனா’ என்று அவர் நேரடியாகவே கேட்டார்.
“ஒரு தவறும் நீங்கள் இழைக்கவில்லை” என்று உடனே ராணா பதிலிறுத்தார்.
“ஆனால்” என்று தொடர்ந்த அவர், “அந்த இரு கிராமங்களின் வரும்படி அதிக மடிப்பை ஆடைகளுக்கு வைக்கும் செலவிற்குச் சரியாக ஈடு கட்டும். எனக்கு வரும் வரும்படியில் ஒவ்வொரு சிறு காசும் முறைப்படி செலவழிக்கப்படுவதால் அதில் மிச்சம் இல்லை. ஆகவே தான் தங்களின் விருப்பப்படி செய்யப்படும் கூடுதல் மடிப்புகளுக்கு உங்கள் பணத்தைப் பயன்படுத்தும் படி ஆணையிட்டேன்” என்றார்.
உடனே சோஹன் தனது வேண்டுகோளைத்
திரும்பப் பெற்றார். பழையபடி இருக்கும் நடைமுறையே தொடர வேண்டும் என்று வேண்டிக் கொள்ள
ராணாவும் அதற்கு இணங்கினார்.
யார் மனதும் புண்படாதபடி சாதுர்யமாக
நடப்பவர் ராணா என்பதை இது உறுதிப்படுத்தியது.
ஒரு முறை ஒரு முக்கிய காரணத்திற்காகவோ
அல்லது நினைவு தவறியோ தனது விதி ஒன்றை அவர் மீறி கிராமம் ஒன்றைத் தனது ஆளுகையிலிருந்து
விடுவித்து விட்டார்.
அரண்மனையில் உள்ள ஒவ்வொரு பகுதிக்கும்
உரித்தான நிதி அதற்கு என ஒதுக்கப்பட்ட இடத்திலிருந்து வந்து கொண்டிருந்தது.
சமையல் அறை, உடைகள், அந்தப்புரம்
என பகுதி பகுதியாக செலவினம் முறையாகப் பிரிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது.
வழக்கப்படி உணவருந்த வந்த மன்னருக்கு
அனைத்து உணவு வகைகளும் வைக்கப்பட்டது. ஆனால் சுவையான சர்க்கரை கலந்த தயிரை மட்டும்
காணோம்.
உடனடியாக சமையலறை மேற்பார்வையாளரை
அழைத்தார் ராணா.
“என்ன ஆயிற்று, சர்க்கரைக்கு?” என்று கேட்டார்.
“மன்னரே, சர்க்கரைக்கான கிராமத்தை நீங்கள் விடுவித்து விட்டதாக
அமைச்சர் தெரிவித்தார். சர்க்கரை இல்லை” என்றார் அவர்.
ராணா எதுவும் பேசவில்லை. அந்த
சர்க்கரை வகை உணவு இல்லாமலேயே தன் உணவை முடித்துக் கொண்டார்.
தனது ஆணையைத் தானே மதிக்காமல்
இருக்க முடியுமா, என்ன!

NO ONE CAN FOOL DEATH!
One day
when Sultan was in his palace in Damascus a beautiful youth who was his
favourite rushed into his presence, crying out in great agitation that he must
fly at once to Baghdad, and imploring leave to borrow His Majesty’s swiftest
horse.
The
Sultan asked why he was in such a haste to go to Baghdad. “Because, the youth
answered, as I passed through the garden of the palace just now, Death was
attending there, and when he saw me he stretched out his arms as if to threaten
me, and I must lose no time in escaping from him”.
The young
man was allowed to take Sultan’s horse and fly; and when he was gone the sultan
went down indignantly into the garden, and found Death still there.
“How dare
you make threatening gestures at my favourite?”, he cried.
But
Death,astonished, answered,
“I assure
Your Majesty, I didn’t threaten him. I only threw up my arms in surprise at
seeing him here, because I have a tryst with him tonight in Baghdad.”
