பவிஷ்ய புராணம் என்றவுடன் , எதிர்காலத்தில் என்ன நடக்கப்போகிறது என்று அதில் கூறப்பட்ட செய்திகளே நம் மனக்கண்ணுக்கு முன் வரும். ஆனால்ல் அதில் வேறு பல சுவையான விஷயங்களும் உள.
அதில் ஒன்று பணம் பற்றிய ஸ்லோகம்:-
அர்த்தானாமார்ஜனே துக்கம் ஆர்ஜிதானாம் து ரக்ஷணே
நாஸேதுக்கம் வ்யயே துக்கம் கிமர்த்தம் துக்கபாஜனம்
பணத்தினால் எல்லா வகையிலும், எப்போதும் துக்கம்தான்;
பணத்தைச் சம்பாதிக்கும்போதும் துக்கம்;
காப்பாற்றுவதிலும் துக்கம்:
அதைச் செலவழித்தாலும் துக்கம்:
துக்கத்துக்கெல்லாம் உறைவிடம் பணம்தான்
(அர்த்த= செல்வம், பணம்)
எவ்வளவு அருமையான பாடல்; மிகவும் கஷ்டப்பட்டு சம்பாதிக்கிறோம்; நகை, ஷேர் (பங்கு மார்க்கெட்), ரொக்கம் — எது இருந்தாலும் அதை ரக்ஷிப்பது அதைவிட துன்பம்;
லாக்கர் வைத்திருப்பவனே ஓடிவிடுவானோ என்றபயம் (வெளிநாட்டில் பிரைவேட் லாக்கர்கள் உண்டு); சுவிஸ் வங்கியில் பணம் போட்டவர்களுக்கு அரசாங்கம் மாறும் போது எல்லாம் பயம்; பங்கு மார்க்கெட்டில் போட்டவர்களுக்கு பங்கு மார்க்கெட் சரியும் போது பயம்; இவை அனைத்தும் துக்கத்தில் முடிகிறது. வெளி நாடுகளில் அண்மைக்கலத்தில் இரண்டு மூன்று வங்கிகள் திவால் ஆனபோது, பிரிட்டன், ஐஸ்லாந்து, பிரான்ஸ் முதலிய நாடுகளில் பலர் சேமிப்பை இழந்தனர். துக்கம் அடைந்தனர்.
செலவழித்தால், பிற்காலத்தைப் பற்றி பயம்; அதிகம் செலவழிதால் கடன் வாங்கும் துன்பம்; ஆக பணமே துன்பத்தின் உறைவிடம்!
யானை உண்ட விளங்கனி (விளாம்பழம்)
இன்னொரு ஸ்லோகம் சொல்கிறது:–
பணம் வரும் போது தேங்காயிலுள்ள நீர் (இளநீர்) போல வரும்; போகும் போது யானை உண்ட விளாம் பழம் போலவும் போய்விடும் (யானை, விளாம்பழத்தை ஓட்டோடு சாப்பிட்டுவிட்டு வெளியே கழிவாகத் தள்ளும்போதும் அது அப்படியே பழம்போலக் காட்சி தரும்; ஆனால் உள்ளே உள்ள எல்லாவற்றையும் சாப்பிட்டுவிடும்; சிலர் இது தவறு; ஒரு நோயின் பேர் யானை என்றும் அந்த நோய் கண்ட மரங்களின் பழங்களுக்குள் ஒன்றுமே இராது என்றும் சொல்லுவர்)
உண்மையில் பணம் வருவதும் போவதும் தெரியாது என்பதே பாட்டின் பொருள்:–
