Taittiriya

The Taittiriya Samhita is an ancient sacred Vedic text. It belongs to the Krishna (Black) Yajurveda. It contains seven books of sacrificial hymns, mantras, and ritual instructions. The Taittiriya Upanishad, belonging to the Krishna Yajur Veda, is a major Upanishad that deeply analyzes the nature of the Self (Ātman), the structure of human personality, and the realization of ultimate reality (Brahman). In traditional commentaries (Bhāshyam), especially those attributed to Adi Shankaracharya, the text is explained as a systematic guide to Self-realization through inquiry, discipline, and meditation. One of its most famous teachings is the doctrine of the Five Sheaths (Pancha Kosha) — showing that the true Self is beyond the body, mind, and intellect. It also declares the powerful statement: “Satyam Jnanam Anantam Brahma” (Brahman is Truth, Knowledge, Infinity). The Upanishad guides seekers from outer personality to inner awareness, ultimately revealing that bliss (Ananda) is the very nature of the Self.

The text is divided into three main chapters called vallis: [1]

  • Shiksha Valli: Focuses on phonetics, pronunciation, ethical values, and the famous convocation address given to graduating students.
  • Brahmananda Valli: Explores the nature of Brahman (infinite reality) and introduces the doctrine of the five sheaths (Pancha Koshas).
  • Bhrigu Valli: Relates the story of sage Bhrigu’s gradual realization of Brahman through deep inquiry and meditation (tapas)

Tamas, Tamo guna

There are three qualities according to Bhagavad Gita and other scriptures.  Sattva (purity and balance) and Rajas (activity and passion) and Tamasa.

Lord Krishna explains in Chapter 14  of Bhagavad Gita that the material world operates through three qualities or gunasSattva (goodness), Rajas (passion), and Tamas (ignorance). Together, they bind the eternal soul to the physical body

When Tamo Guna is too strong in a person, it shows up as:

  • Laziness and lack of energy
  • Ignorance and confusion
  • Procrastination and sleeping too much
  • Resistance to change or movement
  •

More in Bhagavad Gita chapter 14.

Tandava

Tāṇḍava (ताण्डव) refers to “class dance” and was created by Taṇḍu after receiving instructions from Śiva, according to the Nāṭyaśāstra chapter 4. Accordingly, “after inventing the Recakas, Aṅgahāras and Piṇḍīs, Śiva communicated them to the sage Taṇḍu who in his turn made out of them dance together with songs and instrumental music; and hence this dance is known as tāṇḍava (i.e. of Taṇḍu’s creation.

Tāṇḍava (ताण्डव) refers to the dance of Lord Kālāgni-Rurdra appearing at the time of Prākṛta-Pralaya (“dissolution at the end of the span of life of Brahmā”), according to the 10th century Saurapurāṇa: one of the various Upapurāṇas depicting Śaivism.—Prakṛta-pralaya occurs when the span of life of Brahmā is over. The span of life of Brahmā continues for two parārdhas. At the end of the two parārdhas Lord Kālāgni-Rurdra having burnt the Universe resorts to Tāṇḍava-dance. Then the earth with its qualities merge in water, water in turn merges in Agni, Agni merges in vāyu while vāyu merges in ākāśa.

THIS SEQUENCE IS IN SANGAM TAMIL PURANANURU VERSE AND TEVARAM VERSE.

Tandava is a vigorous, divine dance performed by the Hindu god Shiva. It symbolizes the cosmic cycle of creation, preservation, and destruction, as well as the eternal flow of birth, life, and death.

The Shiva Tandava Stotram is a powerful Sanskrit hymn that praises Lord Shiva and his cosmic dance of creation and destruction. It is traditionally attributed to Ravana, the demon king of Lanka and a supreme devotee of Shiva. Ravana tried to lift Mount Kailash out of pride, but Shiva pressed the mountain down with his toe, trapping Ravana underneath. To appease Shiva, Ravana composed and sang this hymn; Impressed by his deep devotion and the resounding rhythm of the poetry, Shiva released Ravana and blessed him with immense power and wisdom.

Tara, Rape Story is Astronomy/Cosmology!

Name of three women. Tara, wife of Brihaspati.

Tara wife of Vanara king Vali;

Tara , Buddhist Goddess.

Tara and Cosmology – Origin of Planet Mercury

Tara was wife of Brihaspati (Jupiter). once Atri’s son Chandra (moon) abducted her and forced himself upon her. When Brihaspati complained about this to Brahma, Tara was released. But when Brihaspati found out that Tara was pregnant, he forced her to get rid of the life within her. However when they saw the divine child, both Chandra and Brihaspati claimed as his. Upon questioning Tara admitted that the child Budha was Chandra’s.

This is nothing but an astronomical  or cosmological report. Hindus knew what happened billions of years ago. Jupiter (Brihaspati) approached a big heavenly body (Moon), Moon lost one part and planet Mercury came out of Moon. This approach and the repercussions are called Rape of Tara by Moon.

Tara, wife of Jupiter= Comet or Asteroid; there are lots of asteroids in the Asteroid Belt; also Jupiter has very big satellites like Moon. Total number of Moons for Jupiter 115!

Abduction by Chandra/Moon= Gravitational pull;

Rape of Tara by Moon= Clash between two heavenly objects;

Birth of a Baby= Origin of Mercury, a new planet.

(Jupiter has 115 moons that have been officially recognized by the International Astronomical Union, as of August 2026. But the number doesn’t capture the complexity of the Jovian system of moons, rings and asteroids. The giant planet has thousands of small objects in its orbit. Scientists are getting so good at spotting tiny moons orbiting distant, giant planets that the International Astronomical Union has decided the smallest will no longer be given mythological names unless they are of “significant” scientific interest.)

If scientists get some samples from moon, they will know Hindus are right.

The story of Moon is also told in Hindu scriptures. When the Milky Way galaxy (Hindus call it Milky Ocean) was disturbed (when Milky Ocean was churned), the moon came out.

Now scientists knew that Moon fits into Pacific Ocean. So when the earth was disturbed (by some asteroid or a comet), it split and one part went out as moon. Then the Story of Tara followed.

Milky Way Galaxy= Milky Ocean of Puranas;

Churning of Milky Ocean by Devas and Asuras= Gravitational Disturbance or Changes in Milky Way.

Moon came out of Milky Ocean according to Puranas.

If one reads the Navagraha Stotra one can easily understand the Origin of Solar System. Everyday millions recite this hymn. It
