Hundreds of Sanskrit words found in the RIG VEDA , the oldest book in the world, are used by us today. They are found in 2000 year old Sangam Tamil literature and later Indian languages. Nemi which means Wheel is found in the . Rig Veda and Sangam Tamil literature. But this word has extended meaning , mainly the God who holds Sudarsana Chakra, ie.Vishnu/Krishna. It  is also found in Sangam Tamil literature.

It has other meanings such as Chakra/Indra, Varuna, Sun, sea, wheel of a Chariot, Chakravarti/emperor, chariot etc.

Indus-Sarasvati Civilization has many symbols in the shape of a wheel. So it is interesting to study the symbol. It may mean any one of the above meanings or the sound, if we believe the Indus language is phonetic. Many scholars believe it is logo-syllabic and not phonetic.

I have already written one article many years ago saying that the elephant with a person standing on it with wheel symbol is Indra. Indra’s name is Wheel/chakra and his Vahana is Airvavatha elephant.

Let me give the Vedic and Tamil references of NEMI first:-

Rig Veda  1-32-15; 1-141-9; 2-5-3; 5-13-6; 7-32-20; 8-46-23; 8-75-5 and many other places in later Vedic literature.

Linking Chakra/wheel with the Chakravarti/emperor is a unique Hindu concept. The Vedic concept is found in later Tamil Sangam poems. There’ Aazi’ is used for chakra. Strange coincidence is  Tamil ‘Aazi ‘and Sanskrit ‘Chakra’ mean sea as well. If we continue our research we may find more meanings. In the oldest part of the Vedas, Nemi meant wheel, particularly of Ratha/ Chariot.

Nemi is found in the following places in Sangam Tamil literature:–

Akananuru.14-19, 175-14, 251-13, 324-11, 400-21.

Kalitokai .104-9; Kuruntokai.189-3, 227-1, 36-4, . Narrinai .394-5.

Paripatal.1-55, 3-94, 13-6, 9, 15-3, 19-46;

In Purananuru verse 58- Nemiyon refers to the holder of the wheel -Lord Krishna. In Kalitokai, Nemiyaan refers to Vishnu with the wheel.

In short NEMI is connected with Vishnu or Emperor. Thus it is interesting to connect  Indus- Sarasvati civilisation with Nemi. Among the ancient civilisations all foreign encyclopedias and history books written by the British, which is followed in Indian educational institutions until today, India is the only country that has no kings for 2000 years! They wrote that we had kings only from the period of Buddha. They ignored all the kings mentioned in Vedic literature and Hindu Puranas. It is an urgent task to rewrite our history.

Neminatha -Indus connection

Some years ago we read that the submarine archaeologists  have discovered the Dwaraka port that was devoured by the sea long ago. Historians dated it around Indus Sarasvati Riverbed civilization period. Hindu Puranas say that the city Dwaraka went under the sea after the demise of Lord Krishna around 3100 BCE. We had very well developed transport facilities then because Krishna shuttled between Dwaraka and Mathura. They were 700 miles apart. More over we read about Krishna’s Naval Expeditions in the Puranas. Along with this we read about Krishna’s cousin and the 22nd Tithankara Neminatha lived in the same city. His father’s name Samudravijaya shows that he was a sea merchant like the Ma Nayaka of Tamil epic Silappadikaram. Looking with this background we should study Jain literature, particularly the activities of Neminatha and his family in sea side port. Neminatha’s brother was called Rathanemi (Chariot wheel).

ச.நாகராஜன்

ராஜஸ்தானில் உள்ள இரண்டாவது பெரிய நகரம் ஜோத்பூர். 1459ஆம் ஆண்டு ராஜா ஜோதாவால் உருவாக்கப்பட்டது ஜோத்பூர்.

இங்குள்ள மெஹ்ரன்கார்ஹ் கோட்டை ஜோத்பூரின் 125 மீட்டர் உயரமுள்ள மலை மீது அமைந்துள்ள பிரம்மாண்டமான கோட்டையாகும்.

இந்தக் கோட்டையில் அருங்காட்சியகம் ஒன்றும் உள்ளது.

இந்த மெஹ்ரன்கார்ஹ் கோட்டையில்  (Mehrangarh Fort) ஒரு சித்திரம் உள்ளது. அது எதைச் சுட்டிக் காட்டுகிறது என்பது யாருக்கும் விளங்கவில்லை.

ஜோத்பூரின் தற்போதைய மஹராஜா கஜ் சிங் (Maharaja Gaj Singh) இந்த சித்திர மர்மத்தை எப்படியாவது விடுவிக்க வேண்டும் என்று எண்ணினார்.

ஆகவே சென்னையைச் சேர்ந்த தொல்லியல் ஆராய்ச்சித் துறை நிபுணரான டாக்டர் ஆர். கண்ணன் அழைக்கப்பட்டார்.

8-7-2004இல் கண்ணன் அங்கு சென்றார். அருங்காட்சியக இயக்குநர் திரு மஹேந்த்ரசிங் நகர் (Mahendra Singh Naggar, Director, Mehrangarh Museum Library) அவரிடம் ஒரு பெரிய சித்திரத்தைக் காண்பித்தார். அது கறுப்பு இந்தியன் இங்கினால் வரையப்பட்டிருந்தது. தேவநாகரி எழுத்துக்கள் அதில் இருந்தன.முற்காலத்தில் இருந்தபடியான கோட்டையின் மேப் -வரைபடம்- அது என முதலில் அனைவரும் கருதினர்.

ஒன்றும் புரியாத நிலையில் கண்ணன் திரும்பினார். மீண்டும் 14-6-2006இல் அங்கு சென்ற கண்ணன் ஒரு வேளை அது வாஸ்து சாஸ்திரத்தின் படி வரையப்பட்ட ஒரு வரைபடமோ என நினைத்தார்.

பின்னர் நன்கு ஆய்வு செய்தபின் அது இந்திய தத்துவத்தின் உச்ச கட்ட தத்துவத்தைக் காட்டும் படம் என்ற முடிவுக்கு வந்தார். சுமார் இருநூறு ஆண்டுகளுக்கும் மேலான பழமையான சித்திரம் என்றும் அவர் கூறினார்.

ஸ்வாமி ஏ.சி.பக்தி வேதாந்த பிரபுபாதானந்தா அவர்கள் எழுதிய பாகவத விரிவுரையின் ஐந்தாம் காண்டத்தைப் படித்த போது அவருக்குப் பொறி தட்டியது. உடனடியாக சித்திர மர்மத்தை அவரால் அவிழ்க்க முடிந்தது.

படத்தில் உள் வட்டத்தை மையமாகக் கொண்டு அதைச் சுற்றி  மொத்தம் 14 வட்டங்கள் இருந்தன. இந்த உள்வட்டம் ஜம்பு த்வீபத்தைக் குறிக்கிறது. இதில் உள்ள பகுதி தான் பாரத வர்ஷம்.

இந்த வட்டங்கள் அனைத்தும் பிரபஞ்சத்தின் அமைப்பைச் சுட்டிக் காட்டுகின்றன.

சிசுமார சக்ரம் (Sisumara Chakra) என்ற சக்ரம் விஷ்ணுவின் பிரபஞ்ச வடிவைச் சுட்டிக் காட்டும் ஒரு சக்ரம்.

நமது பூமிக்கு மேல் உள்ள பல உலகங்களையும் வான விந்தைகளையும் பால் வீதி எனப்படும் க்ஷீர சாகரத்த்தையும் ஏராளமான கிரகங்கள் மற்றும் நக்ஷத்திரங்களையும் இது சுட்டிக் காட்டுகிரது.

சிசுமார சக்ரத்தை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்ட இந்தப் படம் தனித்தன்மை வாய்ந்த ஒன்று. இது போல் ஒரு படம் இதுவரை வேறெங்கும் காணப்படவில்லை.

துர்கா என்பது பெண் சக்தியைக் குறிக்கும். துர்க்கையே அண்ட பிரபஞ்சத்தைக் காத்து வருபவள்.

துர்கா அல்லது துர்கம் என்ற சொல் கோட்டையையும் குறிக்கும் சொல்லாகும்.

இந்த பிரபஞ்சம் ஒரு கோட்டை போல.  எல்லா ஆன்மாக்களும் இதில் உள்ளன. விஷ்ணுவின் அருளால் முக்தி அடைந்து விட்டால் இதிலிருந்து ஆன்மாக்கள் வெளியேறலாம்.

இந்தப் படம் தரும் அரிய பெரிய செய்தி இது தான் : உலகில் கண்ணினால் பிரத்தியட்சமாகக் காணப்படும் கோட்டைகள் எல்லாம் மாயையே. கடைசி கடைசியான இறுதி லட்சியம் ஸ்ரீ கிருஷ்ணனே.

இதைத் தான் படம் மூலம் வரைந்து ஜோத்பூர் ராஜாவிற்கு அந்தக் கால ஆன்மீக  மகான்கள் உணர்த்தியுள்ளனர். இது உயரிய ஆன்மீக நாகரிகத்தைச் சுட்டிக் காட்டும் அரிய படம்.

இப்படி நிர்ணயித்த கண்ணன் அதை மஹாராஜா கஜ சிங்கிற்குத் தெரிவிக்க அவர் மிகுந்த சந்தோஷம் அடைந்தார்.

இதை அப்படியே அருங்காட்சியக வெளியீடாகப் படங்களுடன் வெளியிட வேண்டும் என அவர் நினைத்தார்.

ஆகவே 2008ஆம் ஆண்டு Unravelling The Mysterious Diagram In the Form of Chakras (Sacred Circles) In Mehrangarh Fort. Jodhpur  என்ற புத்தகத்தை டாக்டர் ஆர். கண்ணன் எழுதி வெளியிட்டார்.

114 பக்கங்கள் உள்ள இந்த அரிய புத்தகம்  Maharaja Mansingh Pustak Prakash Research  Centre, Mehrangar Museum Trust, Fort, Jodhpur, Rajasthan (Ph :0291 – 2541447) மியூஸியம் டிரஸ்டின் வெளியீடாக வந்துள்ளது.

ஏராளமான படங்கள் உள்ள இந்த விளக்கப் புத்தகம் டாக்டர் ஆர். கண்ணனின் அரிய ஆராய்ச்சியின் வெளிப்பாடு.

டாக்டர் கண்ணனுக்கு நமது பாராட்டுக்கள்.

இதை எழுதுகின்ற போது இன்னும் ஒரு சித்திரம் நமக்கு நினைவிற்கு வருகிறது.

மதுரை மீனாட்சியம்மன் கோவில் திருக்கல்யாண மண்டபத்தில் பெரிய படம் ஒன்று உள்ளது. பிரம்மாண்டமான படம்.

இதை அந்தக் காலத்தில் (சுமார் 60 வருடங்களுக்கு முன்னர்) பூகோளம் ககோளம் காட்டும் படம் என்று சொல்லப்படுவதைக் கேட்டு சிறுவர்களான நாங்கள் விழிப்போம்.

இதை உரிய ஆராய்ச்சி செய்தால் அரிய விஷயங்கள் வெளிப்படலாம்.

டாக்டர் கண்ணன் போன்ற நிபுணர்கள் முன் வந்தால் இன்னும் ஒரு பெரிய ரகசியம் வெளிப்படலாம்.

பாரத வர்ஷத்தின் அரிய செல்வங்களைப் பாதுகாப்போம்; அவற்றின் பெருமையை உலகிற்குப் பறை சாற்றுவோம்.

Jainism has beautiful stories highlighting Ahimsa (non violence) and  sacrifice. They have women with exemplary character and one of them was Rajimati.

Hinduism appealed to Vedic believers.

Buddhism appealed to Kshatria warriors; and

Jainism appealed to Vaisya business community.

Here is a story of Saint Neminatha who was cousin of Lord Krishna, and lived probably around 3200 BCE. He was the 22nd Tirthankara and so must have lived before 6th century BCE. Mahavira, the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism was a contemporary of Buddha (sixth century BCE).

Chastity amongst women and faithfulness on the part of a wife towards her husband, even when the marriage rite has not taken place and she is only a ‘vaag dattaa’ – betrothed—is the highest ideal of Indian womanhood and Jainism made no exceptions.

An ideal woman of this type was Raajiimatii, the wife of the twenty second tirthankara Neminaatha, a cousin of Lord Krishna. When his marriage procession was on its way towards the marriage pavilion, Neminatha, the bridegroom saw a number of animals caged in a pen situated on the way. Upon enquiry he learnt that they were to be killed for serving the groom’s party with meat. Alarmed at the thought of impending large scale animal slaughter on his account, Neminatha immediately stopped it and turned his mind  away from this world, which involved such sins of killing and entered the life of a monk.

Rajimati followed the footsteps of her husband  and joined the ascetic order. Once while Neminatha and his brother Rathanemi and Rajimati were practising penance on the same mountain – Girnar – Rathanemi lost self- control and was attracted towards his sister in law. But Rajimati  boldly resisted and baffled his attempts by telling him  that he was preparing to drink from the vomit of another.

The theme of Rathanemi and Rajimati   also forms the subject of a very old and beautiful ballad in the Jaina canonical text – Uttaraadhyayana Sutra– which shows from very early times she was held an ideal of chastity.

(Neminatha is revered and worshipped by the Jains  along with Mahavira and Parswanatha through out India. Neminatha has shrines in many places. In ancient Tamil Nadu the tallest statue was Neminatha in a village called Tirumalai. It is 52 feet tall)

WE must include such stories in School syllabus and encourage students to do more research into the historicity of all religious personalities.

Let us salute  the great Saints Neminatha and Rajimati!

ஜிஹாதி லவ் – மதமாற்றக் கொடுமைக் காதல்!

முஸ்லீம்களின் மதமாற்றக் கொடுமையின் ஒரு வழிமுறை ஜிஹாதி லவ். இளம் ஹிந்துப் பெண்களை மயக்கி, பயமுறுத்தி, கற்பழித்து மதமாற்றும் ஜிஹாதி லவ் பற்றி ரதி ஹெக்டே ஃபேஸ் புக்கில் செய்த பதிவு இது.

பெண்ணைப் பெற்ற ஒவ்வொரு ஹிந்துவும் படிக்க வேண்டிய பதிவு இது. படித்து விட்டு பத்துப் பேருக்குச் சொல்ல வேண்டிய விஷயம் இது.

பதிவு இதோ:

இன்று நான் லவ்-ஜிஹாதி கேஸில் உதவி செய்தவதற்காக அழைக்கப்பட்டேன். கடந்த 3 மாதங்களில் இது 4 அல்லது 5வது கேஸ். இதை நான் எழுதுகிறேன் என்றால் பெற்றோர்கள் குழந்தைகள் அப்படிப்பட்ட கேஸ்களில் எப்படி அவஸ்தைப் படுகிறார்கள் என்பதை அறிந்து விழிப்புணர்ச்சி கொள்ள வேண்டும் என்பதற்காகத் தான்.

1. எனக்கு வந்த 5 விசித்திரமான கேஸ்களில் ஒரே ஒரு கேஸ் தான் தாழ்ந்த ஜாதி கேஸ். (அதாவது பையன் தாழ்ந்த ஜாதி பெண்ணை மயக்கி கல்யாணம் செய்த கேஸ்)

2. பெண்கள் எந்த வயதிலும் வலையில் சிக்க வைக்கப்படுகிறார்கள். ஒரு பெண் இரண்டு குழந்தைகளைக் கொண்ட விதவை. இந்தக் காதல் விஷயம் ஆரம்பிக்கும் போது மற்ற அனைத்துப் பெண்களும் 14  முதல் 16 வயதுடைய இளம் பருவப் பெண்கள்.

3. பெரும்பாலான கேஸ்களில் முதலில் பைக் சவாரியில் தான் பையன்கள் பெண்களைக் கவர்ந்திழுத்துக் கூட்டிச் செல்வர். இது பெண்களுக்கான சுதந்திரம் என்று அவர்கள் உணரும்படி சொல்லப்படும்.

4. ‘எம்’ பையன்கள் இளம்பெண்களை காதல் கவர்ச்சி மூலம் கவர்ந்திழுக்கப் பயிற்சி தரப்படுகிறார்கள். முதலில் கையைப் பிடிப்பார்கள். பின்னர் நட்பு ரீதியான உரசல், தழுவல் இருக்கும். பின்னர் ‘தற்செயலாகவும், தவறுதலாகவும்’ சில பகுதிகளைத் தொடுவர். பின்னர் முத்தமிடுதல் .. பின்னர் உடலுறவு என்று நீளும். பெண்கள் மன அழுத்தம் கொள்ளும் காலமான 10வது அல்லது 12வது படிப்பின் போது இது நடக்கும். இந்த உறவி வீடியோவாகப் படம் பிடிக்கப்படும் (ரகசியமாக)

5. விஷயம் எல்லை மீறிப் போன பின்னர் தான் பெற்றோர்களுக்கே இந்த விஷயம் தெரியவரும்.

6. விஷயம் பெற்றோர்களுக்குத் தெரிந்தவுடன் இந்தத் தகாத உறவை அவர்கள் முறிக்க முனையும் போது அந்தப் பெண்ணானவள் வீட்டை விட்டு ஓடுவதற்குக் கட்டாயப்படுத்தப்படுவாள் அல்லது 4இல் சொன்னபடி வீடியோவைக் காண்பித்து அவள் ப்ளாக் மெயில் செய்யப்பட்டு உறவை நீடிக்க வற்புத்தப்படுவாள். அது வரை அப்படிப்பட்ட ஒரு வீடியோ எடுத்ததே அந்தப் பெண்ணுக்குத் தெரியவராது.

7. அந்தப் பெண் உறவை முறிக்க வற்புறுத்தினால், ப்ளாக்மெய்ல் செய்யவோ அல்லது பயமுறுத்தவோ பையன் தனது நண்பர்களை ஏவி விட்டு அவளுடன் உடலுறவைக் கொள்ளச் செய்வான். ஆனால் எப்போதுமே அந்தப் பெண்ணிடம் உன்னை ஒரு போதும் கை விட மாட்டேன்.திருமணம் செய்து கொள்வேன் என்று சொல்லிக் கொண்டே இருப்பான்.

8. பெற்றோர்கள் குறுக்கிடால் பையன் தற்காலிகமாக விலகி விடுவான். ஆனால் பெண் 18 வயதை எட்டி விட்டல் அவன் திருப்பியும் அந்தப் பெண்ணை இழுத்துத் தன் வலையில் விழச் செய்வான்.

9. பெரும்பாலும் திருமணம் நடந்து விடும். பெண் மதம் மாற்றப்படுவாள். முதல் 6  மாதங்களுக்கு ஒரு பிரச்சினையும் இருக்காது. பின்னர் தான் சித்திரவதை ஆரம்பிக்கப்படும். முதலில் அடி உதை தான். பின்னர் தொடர்ந்து கர்ப்பம் ஏற்படும். பின்னர் கர்ப்பமுறுவது நிறுத்தப்படும்.

10. இரண்டு வருடங்களுக்குப் பிறகு அதே பையன் இன்னொரு பெண்ணை மணப்பான். முதலில் மணந்தவளும் அப்படியே தான் இருப்பாள்.

11.இப்போது பெண் நிச்சயமாக எதிர்ப்பாள். அவளைத் தொடர்ந்து மணந்த நிலையில் வைத்திருக்கப் பையனின் அப்பா அவளைக் கற்பழிப்பார். பின்னர் சகோதரர்கள் கற்பழிப்பர். பையனின் அம்மா, சகோதரிகள் அவளைத் தினமும் அடித்து நொறுக்குவர்.

12. போலீஸும் மற்ற குடும்ப உறுப்பினர்களும் (இன்னும் பேசும் நிலைமை நீடித்தால்) பெண்ணை அட்ஜஸ்ட் செய்து திருமண உறவு நீடிக்கட்டும் என்று ஆலோசனை சொல்வார்கள்.

13. பெரும்பாலான கேஸ்களில், பெண் மிகவும் மனவலிமை கொண்டவளாக இருந்தால் அவளை வீட்டில் ஜெயிலில் வைப்பது போல சிறை வைக்கப்படுவாள். அவளிடம் மொபைல் போன் இருக்காது.

14. அவள் ஒருவேளை ஓடிப் போகத் துணிந்தால் அவளது குழந்தைகளை அவளுடன் இருக்க விடமாட்டார்கள். அல்லது ஒரு குழந்தை மட்டும் அவளிடம் இருக்கும். மற்ற குழந்தை(கள்) கணவனிடம் இருக்கும்.

15. கோர்ட் மாதாந்திர ஜீவனாம்சத்தைத் தரும்படி தீர்ப்பளித்தாலும் கணவன் ஒரு போதும் அதைத் தர மாட்டான். ஏனெனில் திருமணம் சாதாரணமாக நடக்கும் திருமணம் அல்ல. ஏனெனில்  அவள் திருமணத்திற்குப் பின்னர் தான் மதம் மாற்றப்படுவாள். நிச்சயமாக முன்னால் அல்ல! ஆகவே அவளால் கணவனது சொத்தின் மீது உரிமை கொண்டாட முடியாது. ஆனால் பையனோ பெண்ணின் பெற்றோரின் சொத்தின் மீது ஹிந்து பாரம்பரியத்தின் படி உரிமை கொண்டாடலாம்.

16. தயவு செய்து விழிப்புடன் இருங்கள். உங்கள் குழந்தைகளுக்கு ஜிஹாதி லவ் பற்றி நன்கு கற்பியுங்கள்.

Today I was called to help in a Love-Jihad case. In the last 3 months this is the 4th or 5th case. I am writing this because I think it is very necessary to make Parents aware of what the children are going through in such cases.

  1. Out of the 5 odd cases that have come to me, only one is what is known as a ‘lower’ caste.
  2. Girls are trapped at any age. One was a widow with 2 children. But all the other girls were anywhere between 14 and 16 when the affair started.
  3. In almost all cases, the boys take the girls out on bike rides. Girls are made to feel that this is ‘freedom’.
  4. The M boys are trained to make the girls sexually aware and they start by holding hands, giving a friendly hug, touching certain places by ‘mistake’ … then they move on to kissing and physical relationship when girl is in 10th or 12th and under stress for studies. Videos of such if only physical relationship is made silently.
  5.  Most parents are unaware till it is too late.
  6. Once parents come to know and try to break off the relationship, either girl is pressurised to run away or the girls are blackmailed to continue relationship using videos as in 4 above. Till this time, the girl is unaware that a video has been made. 

7. If the girl insists on breaking up, the boy will get his friends to force physical relationship with the girl as a threat or blackmail. All the time, he will keep saying that he will marry the girl.

8. If parents interfere, the boy will stay away temporarily. Once the girl is 18, this starts again and this time the girl is completely trapped. 

9. Mostly, marriage takes place. Girl is converted. For 6 months, there is no problem. Then starts the torture. First beating and all. Continuous pregnancies and termination of pregnancies take place. 

10. After 2 years, boy will get married again to some other girl while remaining married to the 1st girl. 

11. Now girl will definitely resist. To keep her in the marriage, she is raped by boy’s Father and Brothers. Mother, other wife and sisters will beat her every day. 

12. Police and other family members (if still on talking terms) will counsel the girl to adjust and continue in the marriage. 

13. In many cases, if girl is too strong mentally, she will be jailed inside the house without a mobile also.

14. If she manages to run away, she will not get custody of the children or get only 1 child  custody. The other child(ren) will remain with husband.

15. Even if court gives monthly maintenance, husband will never pay. It is a unusual marriage because girl will be converted only after marriage, NOT BEFORE. So she cannot claim right to husband’s property. But boy can claim right to girl’s parent’s property as per Hindu customs.

16. PLEASE BE AWARE. TEACH YOUR CHILDREN TO KNOW ABOUT LOVE JIHAD.

You can’t beat Texas ! a supercilious and wealthy new yorker asked the desk clerk in his hotel if there were not a card game which he could get into.

There is a poker game going on in room number 600, said the clerk, but you would better look out. They play for mighty high stakes.

The New Yorker sniffed at the implication and went to seek the game.  Entering the room he found a table surrounded by grim faced, flinty eyed Texans, methodically sorting and handling their cards. Stepping up brashly the new yorker drew out a hundred dollar bill from his pocket and threw it on the table, saying,

“I hear you boys play for big money. Well, give me chips for that”.

No one said a word. The dealer motioned him to a chair, looked him coldly in the eye and deliberately pushed across the table at him – one white chip.

ஸ்வாமி விவேகானந்தரின் ஜெயந்தி தினம் ஜனவரி 12. அவர் வழி நடப்போம்; உயர்வோம்; உய்வோம்!

ஸ்வாமி விவேகானந்தர் யார்?

ஸ்வாமிஜி யார்?

ஸ்வாமி நித்யாத்மானந்தா ஒரு நாள் ‘எம்’ என்று அழைக்கப்பட்ட மஹேந்திரநாத் குப்தாவைப் பார்க்கச் சென்றார்.

நோக்கம்?

அவரது நண்பர் ஒருவர் அவரிடம், ‘எப்போதும் ‘எம்’ தாகூரைப் பற்றிப் பேசிக் கொண்டிருப்பார்’ என்றார். தாகூர் என்று அவர் குறிப்பிட்டது ராமகிருஷ்ண பரமஹம்சரைத் தான்!

நித்யாமனந்தார் அப்போது கல்லூரியில் படித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார். அவருக்கு ஒரே ஆச்சரியம். பாரதத்தைத் தட்டி எழுப்பியது ஸ்வாமிஜி (விவேகானந்தர்) அல்லவா! அவரைப் பற்றி அல்லவோ அதிகம் பேச வேண்டும்!

அவர் கங்கணம் கட்டிக் கொண்டார் – “‘எம்’மைப் பார்த்து ஏன் நீங்கள் ஸ்வாமிஜியைப் பற்றி அதிகம் பேசுவதில்லை” என்று கேட்டு அவருக்கு “உபதேசிக்க” வேண்டும் என்று எண்ணம் கொண்டார்.

ஸ்ராவண மாதம். ஒரு நாள் மத்தியானம். மழை பெய்து நின்றிருந்தது.

‘எம்’மைப் பார்த்தார் சிறுவனான நித்யாத்மானந்தா.

அவரை அன்புடன் வரவேற்ற ‘எம்’ பெரியவர் ஒருவரைச் சந்திப்பது போல அவருடன் பேசலானார்.

பேச்சு யாரைப் பற்றி? ஸ்வாமிஜியைப் பற்றி!

சுமார் மூன்று மணி நேரம் இடைவிடாமல் ஸ்வாமிஜியைப் பற்றி அவர் பேசிக் கொண்டிருந்தார்.

உபதேசிக்க வந்தவர் உபதேசம் பெற்றார். இடைவிடாமல் ‘எம்’முடன் இருந்து M- The Apostle & the Evangelist என்ற பெரிய அரிய நூலை 15 தொகுதிகளாக எழுதினார். வங்காளத்தில் எழுதிய மூலத்தைப் பின்னர் அவரே ஆங்கிலத்திலும் மொழி பெயர்த்தார்.

ஸ்வாமிஜி யார் என்பதைப் பற்றி நித்யாத்மானந்தருடனான அந்த முதல் சந்திப்பில் ‘எம்’ கூறினார் இப்படி:-

“If the youth of India only follow Swamiji it will not only benefit them but it will also benefit the country and the people. It is Shukadeva himself who has reappeared as Narendranath, in a new body. He has no needs whatsoever of his own. He is already a Nityasiddha, ever perfect – God like, one of the Saptarishis; his advent is for the good of Bharata and the world. He has descended from the fourth floor to the ground floor to teach the service in man – Narendra, this Mather-Meni, the great jewel of Ramakrishna! All the eighteen qualities he possesses whereas Keshab had but one. His conquest is greater than those of Caesar, Alexander, Napoleon – in the sphere of religion and so on.”

(ஸ்வாமிஜி சுகரே தான்; நித்ய சித்தர் அவர். மேலிருந்து கீழிறங்கி வந்து உபதேசித்தவர் அவர். அவரிடம் மஹரிஷிக்கான 18 குணங்களும் இருந்தன. அவரது வெற்றி மதத்தைப் பொறுத்த வரை சீஸர், அலெக்ஸாண்டர், நெப்போலியன் ஆகியோரது வெற்றிக்கும் மேலானது.)

விவேகானந்தரைப் பற்றிய இந்த உரை நித்யாத்மானந்தரைப் புளகாங்கிதம் அடைய வைத்தது; ஸ்வாமிஜியைப் பற்றிச் சரியாகப் புரிந்து கொள்ள ‘எம்’மின் மூன்று மணி நேரப் பேச்சு உதவியதோடு அவரை உயர்த்தி விட்டது.

பரமஹம்ஸர், விவேகானந்தர், மஹேந்திரநாத் குப்தர் ஆகியோர் பற்றிய சுவையான சம்பவங்களையும் அருளுரைகளையும் அவரது 15 தொகுதிகளில் காணலாம்.

ஸ்வாமிஜி தான் ஆற்றிய பணி பற்றி தானே கூறி அருளி இருக்கிறார் இப்படி:- (அதுவும் அவரது வாழ்க்கையின் கடைசி நாளில்!)

இன்னும் லட்சக்கணக்கில் விவேகானந்தர்கள் தோன்றுவார்கள் என்பதையும் அவரே சொல்லி அருள்கிறார் இப்படி :-

“Do you think that there will be no more Vivekanandas after I die?…. Thee will be no lack of Vivekanandas, if the world needs them – thousands and millions of Vivekanandas will appear – from where, who knows! Know of certain that the work done by me is not the work of Vivekananda, it is His work – the Lord’s own work! If one governor-general retires another is sure to be sent in his place by the Emperor.”

  • நான் இறந்த பிறகு விவேகனந்தர்களே இனி இருக்க மாட்டார்கள் என்று எண்ணுகிறாயா நீ? விவேகானந்தர்களுக்குப் பஞ்சமே இருக்காது – உலகிறகு அவர்கள் தேவையெனில்! ஆயிரக்கணக்கான பல லட்சக்கணக்கான விவேகானந்தர்கள் தோன்றுவர் – எங்கிருந்து ? – யாருக்குத் தெரியும்?!!! ஆனால் ஒன்றை மட்டும் நிச்சயமாக அறிந்து கொள்! நான் செய்த பணி விவேகானந்தரின் பணி அல்ல. இது அவனுடைய பணி! இறைவனின் சொந்த வேலை! ஒரு கவர்னர்-ஜெனரல் பணி ஓய்வு பெற்று விட்டால் இன்னொருவர் அவரிடத்திற்கு சக்கரவர்த்தியால் அனுப்பப்படுவார் என்பது நிச்சயம்!

விவேகானந்தர் மீண்டும் வருவாரா? நிச்சயம் வருவார்? ஏன்? இதை அவரே சொல்கிறார் இப்படி:-

“The Master said he would come again in about two hundred years – and I will come with him. When a Master comes, he brings hiw own people.

 மாஸ்டர் கூறினார் தான் இன்னும் இருநூறு வருடங்களில் திரும்பி வரப் போவதாக – நானும் அவருடன் வருவேன். ஒரு மாஸ்டர் வரும் போது அவர் தனது சொந்த ஆட்களைக் கூட்டிக் கொண்டு வருகிறார்!

Art and literature in South India attained fulness and freedom of expression in the Vijayanagara epoch.

Gangadevi was the queen of Kumara Kampanna who conquered Shambuvaraya and Sultan of Madurai in 1361 CE, and brought thereby the whole of Tamil country as far as Rameswaram under Vijayanagar Empire.

Gangadevi was well educated and a talented woman and she accompanied her husband Kumara Kampanna to the South during his expeditions. She wrote a fine Sanskrit epic called the Mathura Vijayam describing the heroic deeds of her husband. In the eulogy on poets at the beginning of the book, she gives considerable prominence to the Sanskrit poets of the Telugu country such as Agastya, Gangadhara and Viswanatha, and the last of whom was her Guru/preceptor. Special interest is attached to the poet Tikkaya “whose poetry resembles the moonlight, drunk with avidity by thirsty poets like chakora birds”.  This Tikkaya is none other than the famous Tikkana Somayaji, the author of fifteen out of the eighteen parvans/books of the Telugu Mahabharata . it is obvious that Gangadevi, the pupil of Viswanatha and an admirer of Tikkana Somayaji’s poetry is a Telugu princess.

The Mathura Vijayam is a historical epic , which describes Kampannas’s victories in the Tamil country. Its value as a source book of early history Vijayanagara history cannot easily be overestimated.  As a poetess Gangadevi takes a high rank; she is perhaps the greatest of women writers of South India who chose Sanskrit as the vehicle of expression. The appraisement of her work by editors may be quoted here with advantage –

“The work is in the form of a classical Kavya , conforming to the rules laid down in the treatises on poetics and containing the usual lengthy of the seasons , the twilight, the rising of the moon and other necessary topics. The authoress writes in the Vaidharbi style , and her thoughts which  flow with ease and simplicity , are clothed in diction at once beautiful and charming. Her similes are grand and drawn direct from nature, with none of the conventional pedantry of grammar or rhetoric which so largely spoils the productions of later-day poets. she has adopted certain scenes and descriptions which are favourite with Kalidasa, but they are transformed at the mint of her imagination and invested with new significance.

POTTER’S DAUGHTER MOLLA

Unlike Gangadevi,  Molla (1440-1530 CE) was not a lady of royal rank. She was of humble origin, being the daughter of Keshava Shetti, a potter of Gopavaram , a few miles to the north of Nellore on the bank of river Pennai. Molla is the earliest and perhaps the greatest of the Telugu poetesses. Though her date is not definitely known, it is not at all unlikely she flourished in the palmy days of Emperor Krishnadevaraya  or a little earlier. In the eulogy on poets of her Ramayanam she refers to the famous poet Shrinatha , who lived in the closing years of fourteenth century or later. Nothing is known about her personal life except that she wrote Ramayanam.

Molla’s Ramayanam, though small in size , is a poem of considerable poetic excellence and literary merit. Until recently it used to be studied as a text book in village schools, where boys were taught to learn it by heart. Molla is a vigorous writer. Though simple, her style is dignified and her verse easy flowing and forcible. She is at her best in Sundara Kandam; the brief pen picture of Ravana , Hanuman ads Sita are unsurpassed in the whole range of Telugu literature. It is not known whether Molla wrote any other work; but her Ramayanam is enough to secure for her an abiding place in the galaxy of the immortals who enriched the Telugu language and literature.
