Allahabad HC judge to Centre: Make cow national animal

Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav said ‘scientists believe that the cow is the only animal that inhales oxygen and exhales oxygen too’.

Rejecting the bail petition of a man booked under the UP Cow Slaughter Act, Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav of the Allahabad High Court on Wednesday urged the Central government to bring a Bill in Parliament for “protection of cows” and to declare “cow protection as a fundamental right of Hindus”.
Justice Yadav also advised the Central government to declare cow as the national animal.
“Keeping in mind the circumstances, the cow must be declared national animal and protection of cows must be a fundamental right of Hindus because we know when the country’s culture and faith are hurt, the country becomes weak,” Justice Yadav said.

Teachings from Arthashastra, Bhagavad Gita may be added to India’s military training curriculum
Defence sources told News18 that the project was aimed at exploring select ancient Indian texts in the context of strategic thinking and leadership in the Indian Armed Forces
A recent internal study conducted by the College of Defence Management (CDM) has recommended exploring ways of incorporating ‘relevant teachings’ from ancient Indian texts such as Kautilya’s Arthashastra and Bhagavat Gita into the current military training curriculum. The study also suggested setting up an ‘Indian Culture Study Forum’ and a dedicated faculty to research on this possibility.
Located at Secunderabad, CDM is a premier tri services military training institution, where senior officers from the Army, Navy and the Indian Air Force are trained and groomed for higher defence management.
The project titled “Attributes of Ancient Indian Culture and Warfare Techniques and its incorporation in present day strategic thinking and training” was sponsored by Headquarter Integrated Defence Staff, News18 has learnt.

HSS UK condemns ‘Dismantling Global Hindutva’ conference

Cosponsored by departments and centres of more than 60 centres and 45 universities, a three-day ON LINE conference on ‘Dismantling Global Hindutva’ is going to take place between September 10 to September 12.
In a statement given to Asian Voice, Dhiraj D Shah, President HSS UK said, “Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh UK vehemently condemns the forthcoming “Dismantle Global Hindutva conference” which has been designed to project Hindus disproportionately and falsely as purveyors of extremism, deny genocide and ethnic cleansing of Hindu people and most troubling, label those who disagree as followers of Hindutva which it defines as Hindu extremism.
The organisers are well known seasoned anti-Hindu/anti-India forces who have a well funded and well-resourced ecosystem in media and academia. Scores of universities (mainly in the USA) seem to have sponsored this hate conference but recent denial of such sponsorship by some universities exposes the falsehood and credibility of the organisers.
Many keynote speakers are known for their open support to ultra-violent Maoist and Naxalite groups which have been conducting armed struggle against the Indian State. The world knows the liberal, inclusive and peace-loving nature of Hindu diaspora which has always contributed to the welfare of all irrespective of race, colour and religion.” Said Dhiraj D Shah, President H.S.S. UK .

JANMASHTAMI PROCESSION IN KASHMIR

After a gap of 32 years, the Kashmiri Pandits organised a Janmashtami procession to celebrate the birthday of Lord Krishna in Srinagar on Monday amid tight security arrangements.
The group began the ‘jhanki’ procession from the Ganpatyar temple in the Habba Kadal area of the city. The yatra covered major spots in the city including Kralkhud, Barbarshah, Amirakadal bridge and Jehangir chowk, a PTI report quoted officials as saying.
The devotees, including people from all age groups, danced alongside the chariot and distributed sweets among people and chanted prayers of “Hare Krishna Hare Ram”.
“This Jhanki Yatra is a beautiful way of celebrating Janmashtami because through this we can show our devotion towards Lord Krishna,” a local told ANI.
“An act of brotherhood has been shown today as all the other communities of Kashmir, cooperated during the Yatra and it was smoothly conducted”, said another local.

PM Modi releases special Rs 125 coin on ISKCON founder’s 125th birth anniversary
Srila Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada founded the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) commonly known as the ‘Hare Krishna movement’.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi Wednesday released a special commemorative coin of Rs 125 to mark the 125th birth anniversary of ISKCON founder Srila Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada via video conferencing.
Prabhupada founded the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) commonly known as the ‘Hare Krishna movement’.
Releasing the coin, PM Modi said, “Today we are celebrating 125th birth anniversary of Srila Prabhupada. It is as if the joy of meditation/devotion and contentment have come together. Millions of followers of Srila Prabhupada Swami and Krishna devotees are experiencing this feeling today all over the world.”
Lauding the religious organisation for its work and services, the prime minister said it has played the role of a brand ambassador of Indian traditions and values.
Talking about ISKCON’s global presence, Modi said he often gives the example of its success while speaking of ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’, a programme launched by his government to popularise “made-in-India” products.
“How we feel a sense of belonging and pride when we are greeted with ‘Hare Krishna’ in foreign countries. Imagine how we will feel if we find the same familiarity for ‘made-in-India’ products outside,” he said. Hare Krishna’ is the greeting offered by ISKCON members.
Quoting former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, PM Modi said that Prabhupada arrived in New York with little idea about his next meal or where he will stay, and his subsequent success in popularising ISKCON is no less than a miracle.
