What is conditional?
It is like ‘IF’ in English.
In English, you simply put ‘IF’ in the initial position:
E.g.IF you come, I will see
In Tamil it comes after past stem, which we saw yesterday.
You add ‘ஆல்/Aal’ with the past stem in Tamil.

First class verbs (three types)
1.a செய்- செய்த்- செய் தேன் I did CONDITIONAL செய்த்+ஆல் = செய்தால்/seythaal
1.b.கொள் — கொண்ட் — கொண் டேன் I took = கொண்டால் / kondaal
1.c.வெல் — வென்ற் — வென்றேன் I won = வென்றால் / vendraal

Class two Verbs
2.உட்கார் — உட்கார்ந்த் – உட்கார்ந்தேன் I sat = உட்கார்ந்தால் / Utkaarnthaal

Class 3 Verbs
3.வாங்கு — வாங்கின் — வாங்கினேன் I bought = வாங்கினால் / vaangkinaal

4.சாப்பிடு — சாப்பிட்ட் – சாப்பிட்டேன் I ate = சாப்பிட்டால் / saappittaal
பெறு — பெற்ற் — பெற் றேன் I got (I gave birth) = பெற்றால் / petraal

Fifth class has four types
5.a.உண் — உண்ட் – உண்டேன் I ate =உண்டால் / undaal
5.b.தின் – தின்ற் — தின்றேன் I ate = தின்றால் / thindraal
5.c.கேள் — கேட்ட் – கேட்டேன் I asked or I heard = கேட்டால் /kettaal
5.d.வில் — விற்ற் – விற்றேன் I sold = விற்றால் , vitraal

Class six Verbs
6.பார்– பார்த்த் — பார்த்தேன் I saw or I looked at = பார்த்தால் /paarththaal

Class 7 Verbs
7.நட — நடந்த் — நடந்தேன் I walked = நடந்தால் /nadanthaal

Irregular Verbs (when you look for stems , it is not regular; it changes)
வா 2 – வந்தேன் I came =வந்தால் / vanthaal
போ 3- போனேன் I went = போனால் /ponaal
சொல் 3 – சொன்னேன் I told, I said சொன்னால் /sonnaal
கேள் 5 – கேட்டேன் I asked or I heard கேட்டால் / kettaal
நில் 5 – நின்றேன் I stood =நின்றால் /nindraal
வில் 5 – விற்றேன் I sold = விற்றால் / vitraal
The numbers that after the root of the verb shows the class. But the stem is irregular
காண் 5 – கண்டேன் கண்டால் / kandaaal
ஆ, ஆகு 3 – ஆனேன் ஆனால் / aanaal
சா 2 – செத்தேன் செத்தால்/seththaal
TAMIL PRONUNCIATION
ற்= this is R sound. But in words it is pronounced like TR or DR
Example – விற்றால் , vitraal; வென்றால் / vendraal

Important Point
This conditional can be used in present, past and future tenses without any change. Only the finite verb decides the tense, not the conditional
