Novel Way of curing Snake bite: 26 Hens sacrificed!

Mrs Chittammal was bitten by a cobra in August 1978 in Manapparai in Tamil Nadu. Immediately she was taken to Dr Pandyan who asked to bring a hen. He placed the backside of the hen to the wounded /bitten place of the lady. The hen died immediately. More and more hens were brought to suck the poison from the lady. 26 hens sucked the poison through its bottom part. 27^th hen did not die. So it was concluded that all the poison in her body was extracted. She went home.

மணப்பாறையில் சிட்டம்மாளை   நல்ல பாம்பு கடித்தது. உடல் முழுதும் விஷம் பரவியது ; அவரை மனப்பாறையிலுள்ள டாக்டர் பாண்டியனிடம் கொண்டு சென்றனர் . அவர் ஒரு கோழியைக் கொண்டுவரச் சொல்லி அதன் ஆசன வாயை பாம்பு தீண்டிய இடத்தில் வைத்தார்; கோழி துடிதுடித்து இறந்தது இவ்வ று 26  கோழிகள் இறந்தன 27- ஆவது கோழி இறக்கவில்லை; அதனால் சிட்டம்மாளின் உடலில் பரவிய பாம்பின் விஷம் முழுதும்  இறங்கிவிட்டது தெரிந்தது . சிட்டம்மாள் உயிருடன் வீடு திரும்பினார் . 1978– ஆம் ஆண்டுச் செய்தி.
