Points to be noted:
I have already pointed out the first couplet is from Atharva Veda where mother is compared to Earth.
Here in couplets 169 and 170 Hindu ascetics are referred to, which shows Tiru Valluvar was a practising Hindu.
Hindus fast for good things to happen; earlier he mentioned getting a child by fasting (See Kural 70).
We read that Adi Sankara, Bhakta Markandeya and other great soul were born after fasting by their parents.
Unless he was a Pukka Hindu, couplets like this won’t come from his mouth.
Later we are going to see more of the same.
Last but not the least , we must note the relationship between Bear and PORU in Tamil.
All the old languages evolved from Tamil and Sanskrit which came out of Lod Siva according to Panini and Bharatiyar. Both say the languages came from Lord Siva.

156.The joy of the dust of revenge is for a day; but glory eternal to the man who has the patience of the wise- ANM+2

Forbearance brings glory for all time— SMD

Who wreak their wrath have pleasure for a day;
Who bear have praise till earth shall pass away.
The pleasure of the resentful continues for a day. The praise of the patient will continue until (the final destruction of) the world. – GUP

Patience carries its praise for aye– SB.

156.The gratification which one derives by retaliation is momentary; but the glory of forbearance lasts for all time– EVS
